In the 22nd chapter of 2nd Samuel we have David's song of deliverance. How similar it is to that of Moses' song in Deuteronomy 32. The focus is on Yahweh's steadfast love; His capacity to, and willingness to, always deliver His faithful servants. Another important theme is God's enduring and Rock-like persistent protection and power exercised consistently on the behalf of His children. The Almighty Father and our Sovereign's will shall be accomplished in the earth, unhindered.Jeremiah 25 clearly tells us that the fourth year of Jehoiakim was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar. We are told later in Jeremiah's writings that this was the year when the king of Judah burned the Bible that the Omnipotent revealed His purpose to the potentate, Nebuchadnezzar, who presided over the kingdom of men. How important it is for us to appreciate that the fulfilling of God's purpose is not dependent upon our faithfulness. If we fail God will choose another. When king Zedekiah rejected the Almighty the Omnipotent Sovereign selected to reveal His Will to a Gentile monarch: Nebuchadnezzar. When Israel failed Yahweh in His mercy offered salvation to the Gentiles. He can just as easily reject us for failing to honour God: Romans 11 verses 11-36. Those verses also establish that once the fulness of the Gentiles is reached Israel will again be regrafted into their own olive tree. Details of the Almighty's kingdom plan were revealed to Babylon's mighty ruler in Daniel 2. The 25th chapter of Jeremiah records the punishment to be inflicted on guilty Judah as Yahweh's indignation was poured out.Chapter 13 of Romans developed the extension of peaceful living by explaining the purpose and practices needed in an orderly society. This chapter teaches the disciple of Christ that he/she is subject to the rulers and magistrate God had appointed. Deterrents and disciplinary measures are essential for the preservation of peace. Paul tells the disciple how to recognise our place and demeanour in such a God ordained ordered society. We will conform to society's laws unless they are in conflict with God's principles: Acts 5 verses 27-29. Chapter 14 turns its focus from living peacefully in a broad society ordered by divine discipline to the disciple's need to fix his mind on walking in harmony and fellowship with his fellow disciples. We must avoid judging our fellow believers, and rather recognising that it is to our Lord Jesus Christ; and he alone to whom we must give account We will either stand, or fall for our own doings and not to worry too much about what anyone else does. Peripheral matters must never become a focus or basis for comparing ourselves with others. The Apostle Paul lays down the important principle designed to keep matters of conscience in perspective, that "the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace, and joy in a spirit of holiness" verse 17.More here https://christadelphianvideo.org/christadelphian-daily-readings/

Summer is heating up across the Carolinas, and that means snakes are on the move — and stirring up plenty of conversation. In this episode, Debbie and Laurie bust myths and tackle misinformation about snake deterrents, exploring what truly works (and what absolutely doesn't) to keep these fascinating reptiles out of spaces where they aren't welcome. From mothballs to marigolds, ultrasonic gadgets to sticky traps, the hosts share a science-based look at these so-called “solutions” and offer practical, humane advice for managing your yard in a way that discourages unwanted snake visits without harming them or other wildlife. If you've ever wondered how to keep your backyard nature-friendly and less attractive to snakes, you'll love this timely, sometimes funny, always down-to-earth episode.

Seattle officials would rather spend $500,000 on 'public masturbation deterrent infrastructure' than enforce existing laws at a local park. While perverts freely perform lewd acts in broad daylight at Denny Blaine Park, the city's solution isn't to arrest offenders—it's to build mysterious 'infrastructure' with YOUR tax dollars. Residents have documented dozens of incidents, filed police reports, and are now SUING the city for refusing to protect public spaces. Meanwhile, Mayor Bruce Harrell remains spineless, afraid to upset special interest groups while children and families suffer the consequences of this deliberate negligence. Is this what happens when a city consistently refuses to enforce its own laws? How many more neighborhoods will be abandoned to degeneracy before Seattle officials do their jobs? SUBSCRIBE for more coverage of government failures that mainstream media won't touch, and SHARE this video to expose the absurdity your tax dollars are funding.

Thoughts on the readings for February 3rd (Exodus 9 Psalms 62,63, Romans 13,14)

Exodus 9 tells of the 5th plague (a grievous disease which killed the livestock of the Egyptians); the 6th plague (of sore boils on man and beast); and the 7th plague (hail which smote the grain and vegetables of the Egyptians). The economy and food of Egypt was being destroyed by Pharaoh's stubborn arrogance and defiance of Yahweh. A man whose heart was so hard that he would rather see the destruction of his people, than yield to Yahweh. Of course God had exempted His people from these sufferings from after the third plague. How ironic that Egypt, which hardly ever sees any significant rain (Zechariah 14 verses 17-19) should be hammered by an overwhelming hail storm. At last the terrified king seemed as though he would relent; having suffered enough punishment. He pleaded with Moses and Aaron to beseech the Almighty to cease the ravages. But upon receiving respite Pharaoh withdrew from the agreement he hade made with God. Psalm 62 comes from the pen of David. It speaks of David waiting for the Almighty to act on his behalf. David says there is no other than his Omnipotent Creator that the faithful can depend on. David has experienced the loving kindness of the LORD and found Him to be an immovable fortress. And although the psalmist may feel like a tottering wall , any attempt to throw him down is futile. His foes were evil hypocrites who spoke well of David when he was in their presence and slandered him behind his back. Not so his God who had upheld David no matter what had happened. His trust in Yahweh couldn't be shaken. Those who put their trust in the LORD will find Him to be a refuge. On the contrary those who place trust in people are trusting in a mere vapour – a passing breath. Listen O hearer in the Lord God Almighty alone is strength to be found. Psalm 63 is yet another of David's Psalms where he recalls the times when he was hiding from Saul in the Judean wilderness. He was like a hunted deer, fearing and unable to rest, or find a place to be refreshed. God alone could give him rest and refreshment. David reflects on past support when he was in the LORD's sanctuary. The psalmist says God's steadfast love is better than life. And so he will continue to praise and extol his God. In these practices alone can David find any satisfaction. The psalmist will remember and think upon Yahweh's mercy and loving kindness. He contrasts his position with that of his enemies, who will be destroyed without any recognition. King David will rejoice in Yahweh's saving truth. Chapter 13 of Romans developed the extension of peaceful living by explaining the purpose and practices needed in an orderly society. Deterrents are essential for the preservation of peace. Paul tells the disciple how to discern our place and practices in such a God ordained ordered society. Chapter 14 turns its focus from living peacefully in a broad society ordered by divine discipline to the disciple's need to fix his mind on walking in harmony and fellowship with his fellow disciples. Avoiding judging our fellow believers, but rather recognise that it is to our Lord Jesus Christ; and he alone to whom we must give account We will either stand, or fall for our own doings and not to worry too much about what anyone else does. Peripheral matters must never become a focus or basis for comparing ourselves with others.

Donate (no account necessary) | Subscribe (account required) In this detailed episode of "The Wright Report," host Bryan Dean Wright, a former CIA Operations Officer, delves into pressing global issues with in-depth analysis and expert insights: Iran-Israel Conflict Escalation: The episode opens with a detailed account of a recent large-scale military assault by Iran on Israel, using a combination of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, and rockets launched from both Iranian soil and proxies in Lebanon and Yemen. Wright discusses the efficacy of Israel's missile defense systems, such as the Iron Dome, which successfully intercepted nearly all incoming threats. The potential ramifications of this direct conflict, including the likelihood of an escalated military response from Israel and its implications for global security, are thoroughly explored. Renewed Russian Offensive in Ukraine: Wright shifts focus to the latest developments in Ukraine, where Russian forces targeted underground natural gas facilities, aiming to cripple energy supplies to Europe. The episode breaks down the strategic importance of these facilities and assesses the effectiveness of Ukrainian air defenses. Wright speculates on the potential for renewed peace talks, citing recent statements from Russian officials, and evaluates the impact of ongoing military engagements on the European and global energy markets. Landmark Climate Change Ruling in Europe: The program then addresses a groundbreaking decision by the European Court of Human Rights which ruled that European governments must protect their citizens from the impacts of climate change. Wright analyzes the immediate effects of this ruling on European industries, projecting significant economic disruptions and a surge in climate-related litigation. He considers the broader implications for global environmental policy and the potential for similar legal standards to influence U.S. regulatory practices. U.S. Domestic Policies and Economic Impact: The final segment critiques the Biden administration's domestic policies, particularly those affecting energy prices such as the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. Wright discusses the double-rate increase in electricity prices since the onset of the Biden administration, attributing it to reduced natural gas and coal production and increased reliance on less reliable renewable energies. He predicts further economic strain as these policies continue to unfold, potentially exacerbating the cost of living for American citizens. Throughout the episode, Wright interlaces his analysis with potential future scenarios, offering a clear and potent critique of current international relations and domestic policies. The episode concludes with a call to recognize the truths revealed by recent events and their implications for global stability and economic health.

In this episode, we're shining a light on a pervasive threat that often lurks in the shadows of corporate environments: insider fraud. We'll explore the insidious nature of insider threats, the various forms they can take, and most importantly, how organizations can arm themselves with knowledge and strategies to mitigate these risks effectively. Today's guest is Claire Mailet. Claire is an award-winning financial crime prevention expert and has worked in the field for over ten years. In her spare time, Claire assists universities in the UK to support staff and students who stammer and she's currently undertaking a part time Ph.D at the University of Portsmouth, looking at internal fraud in FinTechs. Show Notes: [1:05] - Claire shares her background and what she does now in her career. [5:18] - The growth of counter-fraud in academia has increased in the last few years. [6:31] - Insider fraud is a type of fraud that isn't really well known right now. It is under researched and underestimated. [7:59] - When people think about fraud, they think about the customer. They will very rarely think about people on the inside. [9:09] - What is insider fraud? [10:13] - An underestimated form of insider fraud is when employees who leave a company aren't removed from internal systems and still have access. [12:50] - Organizations need to have vetting measures in place at the time of onboarding to ensure fraud is not committed on a CV. [15:18] - The more in depth you can go, the more safe and secure you are. [16:41] - Deterrents get lost when prevention is focused on. [18:35] - Cost is a real issue for many companies. [21:35] - Companies need to get on board with the idea of having things in place for protection. [23:40] - Current employees working from home can be a risk to data. [27:07] - It doesn't matter how ethical and good someone is. [30:22] - In a lot of startups and small businesses, business owners will hire best friends or family members over someone who can best do the job. [33:50] - What could someone's motivation be to commit insider fraud? [36:30] - There are a lot of different ways to commit insider fraud, such as falsified time sheets and information on a resume. [38:42] - For every possible way a person can commit fraud, there needs to be something in place. Owners need to think through these possibilities. [40:27] - The whole business needs to be involved in the education and prevention of fraud. [42:20] - It is common for employees to think that if “fraud” is not in their job title, they don't have to worry about it. Thanks for joining us on Easy Prey. There's good news for those abandoned covid fur-babies and the apartment residents who'd love to offer them new homes. The highly dubious tactics clearly aimed at deterring people from having pets in apartments – workarounds for the ban on blanket pet bans, if you like – will be knocked over in proposed changes to NSW strata law.Application fees, pet bonds and demands for additional insurance cover will be no more. These are among several tweaks to strata law on the way in NSW but you'd better believe policy wonks in all the states watch each other's laws like hawks – and any or all of these changes could be coming your way soon. Also on the hit list, Fair Trading will be able to recommend dysfunctional schemes have compulsory strata managers appointed to take over the running of the block, putting failed strata committees into deep freeze for a couple of years.Opportunist developers will have to declare conflicts of interest – and face having costs awarded against them – if they try to use strata funds to combat competing plans. And all strata schemes, regardless of size will need to get two quotes for work that's going to cost more than $30,000.Finally, we have a strata commissioner.  Property Services Commissioner John Minns has had strata added to his portfolio. We examine how that could be a good or bad development, and pick the bones out of all the above on this week's podcast.____________________________________________________Flat Chat is all about apartment living, especially in Australia.Find us on Facebook and Twitter and the Flat Chat website.Send comments and questions to mail@flatchat.com.au.Register to ask and answer questions about apartment living anonymously on the website.Recorded by Jimmy Thomson & Sue Williams; Transcribed by Otter.ai; Transcription tidied up and sensified by Raphie.Find out more about Sue Williams and Jimmy Thomson on their websites.

Guest of this appointment is Gonça Pasolar, co-founder with Emre Arolat of EAA-Emre Arolat Architecture, one of the most renowned firm of Turkey, Istanbul-based, with offices in London and New York. The practice, characterized by a wide range of realisations from urban masterplans, airports to residential, cultural buildings and workplaces, has been acknowledged with prestigious recognitions as the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, the RIBA International Excellence, selected by the Mies van der Rohe Award. Gonça has received the European Center for Architecture's 40 under 40 award and the nominee for one of the five AJ's Women Architects of the Year Award in 2015. Our conversation, after indulging on the beginning of the practice, focused on İpekyol Textile Factory, winner of the Aga Khan Architecture Award 2010, project attesting an innovative will for a more democratic architectural approach towards environment and people's well-being. EAA urban residential projects, re-proposing with contemporaneous terms the soul of a tradition, and the great number of summer residences and resorts, sharing a common genetic with the amazing environment where they are located along the coast, represent another occasion of reflection.Topographic context, respected in its natural morphology, generates developments of great fascination as Sancaklar Mosque, a special project, very courageous, in its unconventionality and extremely sincere gesture. Deterrents can sometimes be transformed into opportunities for extremely interesting, original solutions, as the Museum Hotel Antakya, conceived suspended a few meters above remarkable archeological findings. Homage to industrial heritage is another challenging and fascinating aspect of their work and America has recently opened to them the chance of a new adventure.

Deterrents and Misplaced compassion Rabbi Yitzchak Kolakowski is the Facility Chaplaincy Program Director at the The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Waymart, Pennsylvania. The institution is a medium security prison facility housing 1,100 inmates and a 120 bed Forensic Treatment Center, which provides inpatient psychiatric treatment in a secure setting for adult male offenders. Kolakowski is the first Rabbi in the history of the Commonwealth to serve as head chaplain in a state prison. Prior to his present position, he served pulpits and chaplaincy positions in Virginia and Upstate New York. The Rabbi has emerged as a talented speaker in areas of religion, politics, spirituality, popular culture, history, and interfaith affairs. He has created an extremely popular YouTube channel with thousands of followers. Kolakowski unashamedly recounts his personal history. While his mother was raised in a Modern Orthodox home in Queens, his father is a devout Roman Catholic. He had a bris in an Orthodox synagogue but was also baptized in a Catholic church. His maternal grandparents encouraged him to have a bar mitzvah in their Orthodox Shul which spurred the young Kolakowski to adopt a frum lifestyle. At eighteen, he spent a year in a Yeshiva in Yerushalayim, whose environs drew him into Hasidic practice and philosophy . Kolakowski went on to study for and receive semichah at Yeshiva Or Kedoshim Biala in Brooklyn. He recognized the need to obtain a B.A. in psychology from Lander College for Men .Hearing the call to become a communal leader, he matriculated to Touro College for a postgraduate certificate in Advanced Rabbinics and Synagogue Management in conjunction with the National Council of Young Israel and the Young Israel Council of Rabbis. Rabbi Kolakowski's English translation of sefer Seder HaYom by the late Biala Rebbe was published in 2006 in Israel to wide acclaim.
