The world's attention has turned the US in recent days after back-to-back peace summits separately involving Russia's and Ukraine's presidents. But in the absence of a ceasefire deal, drone attacks have taken on a new intensity, continuing to claim civilian lives and knocking out critical infrastructure. In the past week alone, Russia has sustained damage to at least five major oil refineries, as well as its main crude pipeline link into Central Europe. Meanwhile, its own attacks risk straining fragile ties with neighbors like Azerbaijan. Join London oil news reporters Kelly Norways and Nick Coleman to unpack the impact of a new destructive chapter in the region's drone warfare, with insights from Platts refining expert Elza Turner. Credits: Agenzia Fotogramma

— The entire politics desk of the Kommersant business newspaper, 11 people in total, handed in their resignations this week. The mass departure was a protest against a decision by the editor in chief and the oligarch owner to fire two journalists for a scoop in April. We speak with one of the Kommersant reporters who was fired for the scoop, and to Russian journalist Alexei Kovalev about how this latest incident fits into the worsening media landscape in Russia. — On April 25, Russia halted oil flows through the Druzhba pipeline to Eastern Europe and Germany because the deliveries had been contaminated with organic chloride, leading to frictions between Russia, Belarus and the West. We speak to Bloomberg reporter Jake Rudnitsky to discuss the fallout.

This week, beefbois Andrew and Oscar wind the windows of Beef Station down and blare two musical biopics across the stars: Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) and Ray (2004). Both recount the lives of musicians that between the two of them probably laid more mileage of pipe than the Druzhba line. Seriously, it's a wonder either of them ever got around to writing music. Back in August, I had the chance of talking to Dimitar Dimitrov, EU Policy Director at Wikimedia. On their website, Wikimedia is described as a global movement whose mission is to bring free educational content to the world. By now, it is one of the top 10 websites traffic-wise globally and it is arguably the biggest community-driven project online. It all started with the amazing Wikipedia, but as knowledge kept getting compiled, their projects also kept on multiplying. Today, the Wikimedia Foundation hosts a dozen projects with the joint goal of sharing knowledge – Wiktionary, Wikimedia Commons and their latest baby Wikidata are just a few of them. Being a content superpower is not easy, though. Surely a hot topic at the minute, the upcoming EU copyright reform is something under their radar but this legislation is far from being the only thing with a deep impact on Wikimedia’s work. For a long time now, they have been facing a variety of challenges that go from censorship in certain countries to court rulings that place double-standards in terms of what people can do with content online and offline. To find out more about these things and, of course, how you can get involved with Wikimedia, just press play.
