Do we have a right to night? Dana thinks so. We also have a right to health and there is more and more evidence that light at night can be detrimental to our health, and to the environment. Dana applies her legal expertise to her books, articles, essays, and speaking engagements to change people's ideas around the environment and light pollution. Dana Zartner is a teacher, lawyer and writer whose work centers on the use of international, and comparative law as tools for social justice advocacy with an emphasis on environmental justice, the right to a healthy environment, Indigenous rights, sustainable development, and the rights of Nature. A professor at the University of San Francisco, she has published numerous articles and essays on these topics, including the recent "The Right to the Night: New Legal Advocacy Strategies to Address Terrestrial Light Pollution" in Environs. She also has a book coming out with Island Press on March 4, 2025 entitled Standing for Nature: Legal Strategies for Environmental Justice, which examines existing rights of Nature laws around the world with an eye to cresting legal advocacy strategies for future endeavors. In addition to her academic work, Dana has served as an accredited representative at various UN meetings, including the Committee on Women's Rights in New York and the Expert Mechanisms on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Geneva. She has also done pro bono work with the One Million Tree campaign in Cambodia and in support of the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band's efforts to protect their traditional lands in Santa Clara County. Outside of her day job, Dana enjoys the natural beauty of Northern California, writes travel essays with an environmental theme, plays with her cats, and is working on a novel. John Fell Ryan is an artist, film maker, musician, writer & father. John has been on the main nerve of the Kubrick discussion for years. He ran a blog titled 'KDK12' & he was featured in the documentary film Room 237 (2012). You will recall John revealed to us that The Shining (1980) synchronizes with itself when we mirror the film & project it on top of itself. Each projection at 50% opacity, one playing the film forwards & the other playing the film backwards. We are able to see much more information & our brains can process it in a totally new way. This was a major influence on Sean's thinking when creating the Fidelio Experiments, where we can dissect Eyes Wide Shut (1999) in a similar way. John is here for an informal discussion about Stanley Kubrick's work. Hopefully John will join us again someday to discuss Repo Man (1984). Please enjoy the conversation...
Traduction:As part of a broader city-wide transformation, the surroundings of the historic Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris will be transformed into an ecological oasis. Social Yet Distanced: A View with an Emotionalorphan and Friends
Intro: The need for emotional release became anxiety for me. Sobriety and change can be enough for some, but for me, there was a burn. Deep from the belly. Deep from the heart. Pain from an angry liver made the call. I had to heal. My Story In my journey, it became clear there were residual “blank spots” in my perceptions, emotions and more than a little muddled thinking. In my recovery groups, group therapy and my therapist “du jour” all knew my past and grateful transformation. Brutal honesty as a self flaggelation tool and a neediness stitched to a desire to talk about me was the challenge. Physical limitations from abusing myself for so long makes the ticking clock louder. What are the Challenges?: Challenges must be faced in any healing journey. Environs, Self-doubt or past traumas may need an eviction notice to make room for a little joy. Lack of support, uncertainty about the future, road blocks with many flavored intention. So, how? Options are endless and as varied as musical tastes. Having a mission, a goal to gauge by and the courage to pursue it. Do I know…the Problem - do I believe there is a Solution? - You Want it? - Do the work - Get the results - Share it, Grow it. It is all about balance, and seeing through a “New Pair of Glasses”… The repeated suggestion from those in my circle, and most tv therapists kept using the word, “journaling”. As one well versed in living a story, with a history of polishing my verse for a letter home or to a parole board while in prison at 18, it made sense, and I HAD to heal. There was the purge of journaling and the craft molded into a coping skill. I am positioned to wield it like an axe, clearing the forest for that one tree. Continual writing, rewriting, breathwork, and mindfulness provide the impetus and means to heal physically with medical and alternative medicines… and voila! Some may benefit like me, by investigating Cannabis based additions or replacements. Start with a Treatment Care plan @ https://bit.ly/CDBPlan My Process Free-flowing, stream of consciousness revealed some release. I learned the art of it all by paring down the mass to a more poetic- ish form, while documenting the traveled roads. I'm not a tactile artist, though my eye for art is defined and mind open. However I can't paint, sculpt or play music. I'm not an artist or photographer. Except I am. These skills and talents are however, proven to be the method to solutions, the path, and more so, the proof. I can draw a word, and have lived a life of the good, the bad and the ugly. So I process it daily, keep an open mind and show my gratitude by leaving the messages behind in perpetuity. So Now What? It is an imperative to balance all. And I was taught “willingness without action is fantasy.” We are complicated. embarking on a healing journey and the transformative power it can have on a life. My experience is mine. Yours is as well. Find it. There are as many paths as there are people. My Hope For You Please share your own healing stories in the comments. Watch this space for more or similar. durée : 00:03:15 - Où est-ce que tu vas pour les vacances ?

A tree-lined street running gently down to a flat blue bay, flanked by over two hundred years worth of American architecture. Bellport in all its glory, from its founding by the Bell brothers through its growth as a waterfront resort destination and the ensuing years as a sleepy, forgotten village. But there came a time when the old place needed saving - when all the Greek Revivals and Victorians could have been razed or replaced with McMansions. Victor Principe's new book, Unhampton Preservation and the Happiness of Place in Bellport Village and Environs, documents the history of preservation in the area. On this episode, he discusses the importance of preserving a sense of place in an area, protecting streetscapes and historic districts as well as conserving the natural landscape. We also talk about the careful balance of forces needed to make historic preservation work, from dedicated individuals to willing political leaders to a commitment over time to following the plans and specific codes hammered out at the local level. Will God answer your prayer if you don't end with, "In Jesus' name, Amen?" Learn what praying in the name of Jesus really means. I taught this week on the call of Abraham and the development of God's missionary call through the nation of Israel as they were responsible to communicate the truth of God to the cultures around them. They were given that great commission. The great commission didn't start in Matthew 28. It started with Abraham in Genesis 12 —the first three verses there —Abraham, chosen by God to raise up a nation who would then be God's priests to the world so that they would be a blessing to all of the nations. They had a unique role in the great monotheistic religion. The Jews were supposed to reflect morality to the world. Israel was to witness to the name of God. When they talked about the name of God and witnessing to God's name, that does not mean that they were to let everybody know what they called God, "Yahweh." Their goal wasn't to cover the countryside with evangelists who just let everybody know what the right word for God was. It meant something different.☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆https://linktr.ee/jacksonlibon --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------#face #instagram #amour #take #couple #garden #tiktok #psychology #beyou #near #love #foryou #money #ForYouPizza #fyp #irobot #theend #pups #TikToker #couplegoals #famille #relation #doudou #youtube #twitter #tiktokers #love #reeĺs #shorts #instagood #follow #like #ouy #oyu #babyshark #lilnasx #girl #happybirthday #movie #nbayoungboy #deviance #autotrader #trading #khan #academy #carter #carguru #ancestry #accords #abc #news #bts #cbs #huru #bluebook #socialmedia #whatsapp #music #google #photography #memes #marketing #india #followforfollowback #likeforlikes #a #insta #fashion #k #trending #digitalmarketing #covid #o #snapchat #socialmediamarketing

Time to take this thing regional. We've been focusing a lot on the individual cities, but our friend Patrick Geddes opened up the world of planning to this crazy idea that we should start thinking about our places in the context of other places, and Boston, Ohio, New York, and Los Angeles apparently got the memos. Mind. Blown.
