Hurricane Erin Threatens East Coast, Beaches Closed; Texas House Approves Map Favoring GOP | NTD Good MorningHurricane Erin is moving north along the East Coast and is currently a Category 2 storm, with maximum sustained wind speeds of around 105 miles per hour. The National Hurricane Center said Erin's winds have weakened slightly since Wednesday. The storm is currently southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, and is moving north along the East Coast. Tropical storm-force winds are extending up to 300 miles from its center. Beaches all along the East Coast are being closed as dangerous conditions continue. The Texas House of Representatives approved new congressional maps on Wednesday after several hours of voting, following a two-week standoff in which Democrats fled the state in protest at the redistricting. President Donald Trump responded to the vote on social media, writing that “Texas never lets us down.” The map is now headed to the state Senate and could be signed into law by the end of this week. Meanwhile, California Democrats are working on their own redistricting plan, with their map expected to see a vote on the floor on Thursday. The new map would then be considered by California voters in a November poll.Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth paid a visit on Wednesday to the hundreds of National Guard troops deployed in the District of Columbia, after nine days of federal control of D.C. law enforcement. Vance said that in the interim, there has been a 35 percent reduction in violent crime and an over 50 percent reduction in robberies. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said that 550 arrests have been made so far. The U.S. Marshals Service has also put out a notice for $500 rewards for information leading to arrests in Washington.

GlobeSt.com Industrial Influencer Anthony Scavo talks about how his firm is finding success focusing on multi-tenant facilities in this exclusive podcast episode. Not every industrial facility is a big, sprawling Amazon warehouse. The industrial market is as diversified as any other asset class, and although large-format warehouses made the industrial market the darling of commercial real estate, the more niche property types are giving it stability. Anthony Scavo, the managing partner of Basis Industrial and a 2025 Globest.com Industrial Influencer Award winner, talks about the firm's commitment to multi-tenant industrial facilities on this episode of GlobeSt.'s Influencers podcast. Scavo talks about: ● Multi-tenant industrial facilities offering diversification; ● The benefits of buying in secondary markets and below replacement costs; ● How tariffs could help increase demand in multi-tenant properties; and ● Navigating through emerging challenges, like economic uncertainty, and offering flexible lease terms to tenants.

Sandra Enders is a licensed psychotherapist in CT with a specialty license in addiction studies. She is no stranger to complex trauma (c-PTSD) and substance use disorder and adheres to a self-medicating the trauma explanation for it. She believes it isn't the trauma itself, but the lack of support or emotional availability present at the time (Gabor Mate). Sandy teaches her clients more about identifying their early childhood traumas than she does about identifying today's triggers, although both are important. She believes that the opposite of addiction is not sobriety; the opposite of addiction is human connection, empathy, and compassion. Favoring a harm-reduction approach to treatment, she uses alternative methods to mental health, such as spirituality, integration therapy, finding purpose in life, and raising vibrational energy levels. Once a higher dimension is achieved, high risk behavior falls away naturally. Watch: https://youtu.be/4leHmUHJ0f8
Hey, stand on one leg then close your eyes. How's your balance? Our guest today, Dr. Derya Anderson, is a movement and breathing specialist and she's here to explain Postural Restoration and how imbalances in our bodies, in places we least expect, can cause us pain. Today on the Logan Blackman Show after going over some random encounters we go on a solo mission and discuss everything that went on in the Bills 32-29 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. With that we take a look at what the Bills did or didn't do right as well as discuss whether or not the refs truly had an impact on the game. We then take some time to go over some Hall of Fame resumes, comparing Patrick Mahomes to Tom Brady as well as discussing whether or not Eli Manning should not only be a Hall of Famer, but a first ballot one at that. After talking about greatness we take a look at the most tortured fan bases in the NFL, ranking the one to five from worst to less worse. Finally, we reveal our FINAL quarterback prospect rankings for the 2025 NFL Draft, going over every bowl game (including the Playoff) as well as discuss how each of them did throughout the season. Enjoy!

This conversation features an interview with Hilke Schellman, author of "The Algorithm: How AI Decides Who Gets Hired, Monitored, Promoted, Fired, and Why We Need to Fight Back Now." The host, Nola Simon, shares her personal experiences and concerns about AI in hiring processes, which led her to Schellmann's work. Key points discussed include: The increasing use of AI in hiring processes, especially for high-turnover positions. Potential biases and inaccuracies in AI hiring tools, such as: Favoring certain names or keywords unrelated to job performance Misinterpreting data and making incorrect inferences Potentially replicating existing workforce inequities Lack of transparency and oversight in AI hiring systems, with many companies unaware of how their tools actually make decisions. The need for thorough testing and scrutiny of AI hiring tools to ensure fairness and effectiveness. Concerns about how AI might disadvantage certain groups, including immigrants, non-native English speakers, and those with speech differences. The tension between efficiency in hiring processes and finding the most qualified candidates. The importance of accountability and responsible use of AI in hiring practices. Key Questions Raised: - How accurate and fair are AI hiring tools really? - What data are these systems using to make decisions? - How can job seekers know if AI is being used to evaluate them? - Are companies doing enough due diligence on the AI tools they use? - How can we ensure AI doesn't perpetuate existing biases in hiring? Action Steps for Employers: 1. Thoroughly test any AI hiring tools before implementation 2. Regularly audit AI systems for biases and inaccuracies 3. Maintain human oversight and don't rely solely on AI rankings 4. Prioritize finding qualified candidates over speed of hiring 5. Be transparent with candidates about use of AI in hiring process Action Steps for Job Seekers: 1. Be aware that AI may be used to evaluate your application 2. Focus on clearly communicating relevant skills and experience 3. Consider how AI might interpret information on your resume 4. Prepare for potential AI-powered video interviews 5. [00:30] Supremes Rule on Presidential Immunity (19 minutes) The Supreme Court ruled on Donald Trump's immunity case today, determining that presidential immunity does apply to the president's core constitutional powers—a major win for Trump that jeopardizes Jack Smith's case against him. On Friday, the court decided that the Department of Justice applied a statute too broadly when prosecuting protesters from the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol protests. Five Oaks Ag Research and Education Center focuses it's habitat management on Arkansas's historic bottomland hardwood forest ecosystems, using the life history of mallards that have migrated there for eons as living proof of healthy habitat. Empasizing the whole bottomland ecosystem's historic importance, Ryan Askren talks about moist-soil management, comparing it to conventional agricultural crops, listing the pros and cons, naming favored plant communities. We also get into bottomland hardwood management, why managing for early water and holding late water are absolutely essential, the hemi-marsh effect, and philopatric imprinting. Arkansas's historic bottomland ecosystems attracted and sustained wintering mallards since time immemorial. And to hear Askren describe it, with similar management they will continue to do so.
