Conleth Mc Geary's latest single ‘Beverly' is an acoustic folk ballad built around melodic vocals and intimate guitar, carrying the ache of leaving home and the quiet comfort of family as a refuge. With post-breakup travel, nostalgia, and emotional storytelling at its core, it sits naturally beside Dermot Kennedy and Damien Rice. Speaking on the track, Conleth says: “This song is about relying on family for healing. I think most Irish people have some relation to either living away in America or Australia, and I went to my big cousin for a summer in Boston on a J1 visa. I was lucky enough to have someone to lean on during that time, and I had the summer of my life.” ‘Beverly' marks Conleth's first release since signing with Rubarb Music - the newly launched Irish artist development label from Grammy Award-winning producer and mix engineer Ruadhri Cushnan and music industry veteran and 2025 Dublin Entrepreneur of the Year, Shea McNelis - just in time for Conleth's upcoming tour of Ireland and the UK, including a sell-out headline show in Belfast's Empire Music Hall. Blending sounds of folk and home, Conleth Mc Geary has been pursuing the dream of making music which connects with people - both at home and away. Seeking inspiration from the likes of Foy Vance, and more recently, Amble and Ye Vagabonds, Conleth's style has been created through years of graft as a solo musician across Ireland and the UK, touring both extensively, and supporting artists such as The Coronas. Having made his way to Australia with The Coronas on their 'Thoughts and Observations' tour in 2024, Conleth followed it up with a rousing headline appearance on the Emerging Artists stage at Misneach - a festival curated by Dermot Kennedy - in Sydney in March 2025.

Belfast singer songwriter Joshua Burnside released his sixth studio album It's Not Going To Be Okay via Nettwork Music Group on March 20. This is a record born out of loss and the fragile act of continuing. Written and recorded in the wake of the death of Joshua's close friend Dean Jendoubi, the album is his most stripped-back and unguarded work to date. “It's a grief record but also a love record for Dean, for my family, for being alive at all," he says. On this episode of the TPOE podcast, Joshua Burnside talks about touring the US with Ye Vagabonds; getting nominated for the Choice Prize for 2025 album Teeth of TIme; embracing traditional Irish music; grief, the creative process and paying tribute to his friend Dean; the direct nature and homour in the songs; and his family's reaction to the record. We had the pleasure of interviewing Patrick Droney over Zoom video!Patrick Droney grew up in the era of dedication lines and VHS tapes. He survives on sentimentality. It hits him every time he hears Delilah on the radio or passes by the Blockbuster sign near the bodega on his corner. The Brooklyn and Nashville based artist/producer/guitar sensation returns with his sophomore album, SUBTITLES FOR FEELINGS, which explores the idea that each frame of life holds a deeper context—a subtitle meant to be translated in time.Written and co-produced by Patrick Droney with collaborators including Foy Vance, Butch Walker, Jon Green, and Lori McKenna, the songs are a deepening of his timeless, cinematic pop sound. Rewind to May 2021, when Droney released his debut album, STATE OF THE HEART. With streams now in the hundreds of millions, the project was his own coming of age film, offering striking snapshots of the human condition in songs like “Glitter” and “The Wire.”Since then, he has toured extensively, selling out shows across the U.S. and making his U.K. debut with the Eagles at London's Hyde Park. He performed at Super Bowl LVII, claims alumni status at Late Night With Seth Meyers, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and has shared stages with Sheryl Crow, The Vamps, and more. He also released genre-bending collaborations with Kygo (“Say You Will”) and Billy F. Gibbons (“Rough Boy”).We want to hear from you! This episode gets real—men open up about mental health, fatherhood and self-imposed expectations. So, does cigar smoking help you cope with what life throws at you? Solo, cigar time is meditative. Surrounded by friends (or soon-to-be friends at the lounge), cigars create connection that's so lacking in today's frenetic world. And what a connection was made winter camping in Northern Minnesota. (Yes, that's a thing!)! Seeking fodder for his latest book, Nick Hammond, award-winning author of Around the World in 80 Cigars – The Travels of an Epicure, journeyed with Box Press cigar podcast hosts, Rob Gagner and Nick Beck. It ended with a trip to the ER. But the rest of THAT story will be featured in Nick's sequel Around The World in 80 Cigars: There and Back Again, which is slated for publication later in 2023.About Boveda for Cigars: Perfectly aged cigars. Guaranteed. Use Boveda 2-way humidity packs in a humidor to preserve premium cigars. When you own a humidor, you need to make sure the cigars inside stay well-humidified or they can be hard to light, burn to too fast or get moldy. SUMMARY:We're joined by Northern Irish singer/songwriter and frequent Ed Sheeran collaborator Foy Vance, who chats about addiction, spirituality, and the creative process. PART ONE:Inspired by Foy Vance's magnificent whiskers, Scott and Paul go down the rabbit hole to discuss the greatest musical mustaches in history. Actually, the mustaches aren't musical in and of themselves, they're just attached to musicians. But you get the idea. PART TWO:Our in-depth conversation with Foy VanceABOUT FOY VANCE:Northern Irish singer/songwriter Foy Vance launched his recording career with his own record label and quickly gained attention as his songs were used on various TV shows. Touring with Ed Sheeran exposed his music to a wider audience, and his 2013 album Joy of Nothing, which featured a collaboration with Bonnie Raitt, won the inaugural Northern Ireland Music Prize for best album. After signing with Sheeran's Gingerbread Man label, Vance released his third studio album, The Wild Swan, which was executive produced by Elton John and released in 2016. Aside from his own recordings, Foy co-wrote four songs on Ed Sheeran's Multiply album from 2017 and four more on Sheeran's Divide LP from 2017. Additionally, Foy's songs have been recorded by Alicia Keys, Miranda Lambert, H.E.R., Keith Urban, Rag N' Bone Man, and others. In total, he has released nine EPs and six studio albums. His most recent, and his fourth for Gingerbread Man Records, is called Signs of Life.
Growing up in Northern Ireland, with his preacher father playing guitar and his granny always singing, for Foy Vance music and the nomadic lifestyle are somewhat ingrained. When Foy was a young boy his father moved the family to Oklahoma to build a church. Back in Northern Ireland he picked up the guitar and eventually immersed himself in the local music scene before moving to London (via a stint in Lanzarote!). He's travelled the US in search of music history, worshipped at the alter of Muscle Shoals, home-schooled his nine year old on a world tour with Ed Sheeran, hangs around with some of Hollywood's royalty and, in true poetic style, calls a tiny village on the edge of the Highlands his ‘seabed' home. A beautiful soul as well as one of our most heart-stirring singer song-writers. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Last year, East reimagined, recut, and re-recorded his fifth full-length offering, Maybe We Never Die, live in one day at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL as M.W.N.D. / F.A.M.E. He was accompanied by his bandmates, GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Dave Cobb, and a handful of close friends including Natalie Hemby, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, and Foy Vance. Regarding M.W.N.D. / F.A.M.E., East shared, “It's amazing how easy it is to make a record after you've already made it once. This was fun, and it's a scrapbook of a moment. We're used to making records with everyone in the same room. It was nice to revert back to that. I just wanted to be around people and go play something. We decided to go to FAME for a day, because it's one of our favorite rooms and the people are incredible. It felt very natural to fully simplify Maybe We Never Die at a place we enjoy.”Maybe We Never Die initially captivated fans and critics last year. The album arrived to widespread acclaim from Forbes, NPR Music, Rolling Stone, Southern Living, American Songwriter, and more. East delivered unforgettable performances of the album's lead single “Madelyn” on Late Night with Seth Meyers, CBS Saturday Morning, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and celebrated the album's release with his 49-city Maybe We Never Die Tour of North America, which wrapped earlier this month. Now, M.W.N.D. / F.A.M.E. represents Anderson East at his most vulnerable, vibrant, and vital.ABOUT ANDERSON EAST:GRAMMY® Award-nominated Alabama-born and Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and performer Anderson East has always seamlessly trafficked between heritage soul, Americana, gospel, R&B, blues, roots, and rock. Following his independent debut Flowers of the Broken Hearted [2012], he continued to hone his voice and vision on Delilah [2015] and Encore [2018]. In addition to eclipsing 100 million streams, the latter yielded the single “All on My Mind,” which notably garnered a 2019 GRAMMY® Award nod in the category of “Best American Roots Performance.” In between sold out headline gigs in historic venues such as the Ryman, he delivered soaring and scorching performances on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, TODAY, Late Night with Seth Meyers, PBS' Austin City Limits, and more. It's honestly such a privilege getting to bring you this chat with Foy Vance. Foy is a talented musician who hails from my second home of Northern Ireland. You know that saying “salt of the earth?” It was made to describe people like Foy, a person who'll make you laugh while also being the person you want to go to with your troubles. His newest album, Signs of Life, features a reinvigorated Foy, but the route to this album was full of addiction, heartbreak, and being forced to take a stark look at the direction of his life. On this episode, Foy gets real about clawing out of the darkness and finding light in life again.
Ryan is a local lad, not too far up the road from me. His story is very similar to many of us, plays GAA, he went to Uni, travelled Australia and spent some time in the USA during his studiesBut something magic happened. He became one of the biggest singer and song writers to come out of Ireland and has toured all over the world with Ed Sheeran, Kodaline, Snow Patrol, Foy Vance The Corona's and Dermot Kennedy. I caught up with Ryan just before he performed to 40,000 people over the weekend, headlining with Dermot Kennedy. He discusses how music was always on the back burner but meeting his idol Foy Vance while flipping burgers in America changed everything. Vance asked him what he had to say when it came to his art. And he didn't have an answer. He only sang covers. This sparked a fire in Ryan's belly to write his own songs and the rest... is history. Foy Vance is now his mentor. On a very special 10th episode, Foy gets to speak with one of his idols: Bruce Cockburn. Bruce's first album came out fifty years ago, and here he is on episode 10 of The Vinyl Supper with Foy Vance. His eponymous album was released on April 7th 1970, including classic hits “Going to the Country” and “Musical Friends.” In the past fifty years, he's released 34 albums and played around the world. Foy and Bruce bond over songwriting and what ‘the new normal' has meant for them. Bruce calls back to an All-American favorite food, chicken and waffles, and rewinds over memories with All-American favorite musicians, Elvis and Little Richard. The two get serious with talks of the recent unrest in the states, and Bruce has some words of wisdom: “looters are not the creators of chaos.” They discuss the difference between condoning, condemning, and understanding. In his own words, Bruce says of the last fifty years of recording: “I can only shake my head and mutter a word of thanks for all of it. Even if I'd been a planner by nature, I doubt I could have predicted how things have gone. And they're still going!” Going they are indeed: Bruce's songs have been covered by Jimmy Buffet, kd Lang, Barenaked Ladies, Jerry Garcia, Judy Collins, Chet Atkins, and many more. This episode was recorded in July 2020. Visit TheVinylSupper.com for more information on this podcast and video series.
In this episode, we discuss the artists Leesh is obsessed with these days and why. We cover some of the guys that I can't stop playing: Charlie Cunningham, Dean Lewis, Jack Gray, Justin Ward, Foy Vance, and Ben Howard. I also dive into how I manage my Spotify playlists and sing a sad song about the death of live music during COVID and how I CANT WAIT for it to come back. No shade to the Top 40, you know I love me some mega pop bombs, but this episode is an ode to my singer songwriter masterful musicians that I can't get out of my head.
Foy's second guest is four time Grammy winner and 2019 ACM Entertainer of the year Keith Urban. He's the only male Country artist to simultaneously top the charts in the USA, Canada, and Australia, and has had 24 #1 songs. Keith has spent the better part of his life harnessing a deep-seated passion for music—it's plot of his life story, with all its twists and turns. Urban's past collaborations include Billy Gibbons, Buddy Guy, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, John Mayer, Julia Michaels, Justin Timberlake, Dzeko, Miranda Lambert, Nile Rodgers, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones and Vince Gill. But he's never done anything quite like this podcast with Foy Vance, where they touch on topics all over the map. Keith starts out with introducing his precious toy poodle and the chat flows organically from there. He tells Foy about an idol keeping his cool when guitars go missing on tour, and asserts that any version of “Crazy” is a good song. Foy and Keith bat back and forth about vegemite and promite and Keith gives a reading rec—These Truths by Jill Lepore. He spins eternal truths about going out laughing and communing with the dead. Together, the two ask: where would we be without music? Keith's quarantine has already been a busy one: he performed Steve Winwood's “Higher Love” for Lady Gaga's One World: Together at Home broadcast, and he was the first artist to hold a COVID-19 first responder concert at a drive-in movie theater. In the previous life, his last two albums garnered five #1 songs, including “Blue Ain't Your Color,” which won Best Single at the 2017 CMA Awards and Favorite Country Song at the American Music Awards. Besides four Grammy Awards, Keith has won thirteen Country Music Association Awards, fifteen Academy of Country Music Awards, four People's Choice Awards and four American Music Awards. He is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry. But Urban is far more than a musician. He's long supported numerous charities. His “All For The Hall” benefit concerts for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum© have raised over $4.2 million. He is the first Ambassador of the CMA Foundation, an advisory board member at the St. Jude's Children's Hospital and is a longtime supporter of The Mr. Holland's Opus Fund and The Grammy Foundation. Keith Urban's 10th studio album, THE SPEED OF NOW came out on September 14th and is available from wherever you purchase music. This episode was recorded in July 2020. If you miss having dinner with friends, grab a seat at Foy's table. On The Vinyl Supper, Foy Vance chats songs and food with old friends and special guests. During each episode, Foy has a lively discussion with his guest about what three courses they'd eat and what music they'd listen to at their last meal. And of course, they catch up and chew the fat with moments of levity amidst the cathartic reflection. Foy's pals talk about everything from pairing burgers with oysters to Japanese beef and redneck sushi. Conversations meander through global tours and global lockdown, losing loved ones and winning Grammys, reflecting on life before and during quarantine. As it turns out, you can tell a lot about a person by their favorite food and music. Foy recorded The Vinyl Supper while quarantining in the hills of his hometown of Aberfeldy, Scotland. His season one guests have enough Golden Globes, Grammys, Emmys & Billboard Awards to fill several supper tables: Anderson East, Atticus, Benny Blanco, Blake Mills, Bruce Cockburn, Chrissy Metz, Courteney Cox, Devin Dawson, Josh Groban, Keith Urban and Passenger.
