The age limits on New Zealand working holiday visas are "antiquated" according to a 77 year old year Waikato woman, who has regularly traveled overseas on working holidays. At the moment working holiday visa's are an option for people up to age 35. But the number of those visas issued has been steadily declining, prompting calls for change. Journalist Venetia Sherson has been travelling to italy to work on organic farms for decades, and spoke to Lisa Owen.

The age for New Zealand's working holiday visas should be raised fifty to help hike international visitor numbers, according to a tourism operator. At the moment working holiday visa are available to people up to 35 years old. The number of working holiday visa's has been steadily declining with an 11% drop in the year ending in February. Managing director of the LyLo hostel in central Auckland, Tim Alpe believes extending the age for the visa would make Aotearoa more attractive, and spoke to Lisa Owen.

Na závěr se také bavím o Japonsku, ze kterého jsme se obě nedávno vrátily a sdílíme své dojmy z první návštěvy této země. The Top End is a popular destination for everyone at this time of year. And with the demand for workers, it also attracts a lot of Working Holiday visa holders. But those looking to move to the top end at this time of year, are often disappointed to find that they can't find employment. One person who has done things right is my guest Maria. As soon as she arrived in Australia, Maria was prepared to live and work in remote and regional areas of Australia. She has identified where she wants to live and work ahead of time, and as a result of this, has ended up working in a place as close to paradise as can be. Myself, I lived in Darwin, in the top end for 4 years, did my post graduate study and travelled extensively in the top end and Northern Territory. It is a place close to my heart and I consider it one of my second homes. I hope that comes through in this episode. Kiwis travelling to the UK on a youth mobility visa will soon be able to stay there for three years, instead of two. The deal was reached last year - but has been brought forward to start from July. The same agreement means young Brits will be able to come here for three years - and the age band has been extended to people up to 35 years old. Prime Minister Chris Hipkins says bringing forward the extension will help support businesses through labour shortages.
