Our guests this episode are collaborators on the new book How Does Disney Do That?: How Disney Makes Us Feel and Why It Matters, James Warda and Theron Skees. Many books cover Disney, but James Warda and former Imagineering executive Theron Skees take a unique approach: exploring “why” and “how” Disney creates such powerful, emotional connections. Through conversations with former Imagineers, cast members, and fans, James uncovers patterns behind our love for Disney—and insights we can bring to our own lives. The journey is fun, sometimes whimsical, and always meaningful, enhanced by Theron's insider perspective from leading iconic projects like Disney Springs and Disney cruise ships. With a foreword by Disney Legend Joe Rohde, the book also supports Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee, FL. Looking to grab your own copy of How Does Disney Do That? Welcome to one of the most heartwarming, funny, and truly magic-filled show in the history of the World of DVC Shows (and that's a lot to say given all of our 'long standing traditions') Marissa, Derek & Kerri open the episode by putting an end to the much heated "Bags /Cornhole/Bean Bag Toss" discussion from last month's episode (hint, Derek is one of the losers). Kerri and Marissa share how they both recently went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp to witness Tom Brady in all of his glory. Derek shares about his time at the new Grand Floridian Resort Rooms (spoiler, he's obsessed with them) and how blessed he was to meet up with so many incredible World of DVC Show viewers at Walt Disney World over the past few weeks, including some Guests from Ireland! The team gets hungry talking about some of their favorite foods at Disney and some new restaurants they have tried. We round out our love for the Food & Wine Festival with our team from the Indianapolis offices who share their favorites. This may leave you needing a snack. After some market updates, including the latest on the 2022 ROFR monster, the team discusses how excited they are about this month's 'prize'. World of DVC will DONATE $10 on behalf of YOU, the best audience in the WORLD to Give Kids The World for every "Thumbs Up/Subscriber/Comment" The team welcomes Special Guest: Steven Amos, Vice President of Advancement, Give Kids the World! Local Holiday festivities in Harmony Florida in November and December hosted by Jeanine Corcoran broker for The Corcoran Connection and Kristin Macari of Studio Nine 13. This is part of our Discover Harmony Florida podcast series. Welcome to the 3rd episode of Discover Harmony Florida. Being so close to Thanksgiving Jeanine started this podcast off by giving thanks to the people who live in the Harmony community. She talked about the time Kristin's daughter went missing one Sunday morning and how within a 30-minute window people all over the community were searching for her and communicating on Facebook. Kristin's daughter was found quickly and ended up being with her grandfather. Jeanine also mentioned a time when a local man with Alzheimer's went missing and the entire community again came out to help in the search communicating their findings on social media. He was found and okay thanks to this amazing Harmony Community! Currently, in Harmony, there is a food drive for the local food bank, and it is being collected by the students of the Harmony Community Church. This is a local church here in Harmony. They meet on Sundays at 10:00am at the Harmony Community School. They are doing the food drive through November 17th. You can come to the Church to drop the food off or go to HarmonyCommunity.church and put in a message and they will come to pick up the food. Sunday, November 14th is the Harmony Fall Festival from 2 – 5pm at Lakeshore Park. There will be a pumpkin patch, food trucks, a hayride, a bounce house, a DJ, a petting zoo, and more. Friday night, November 19th starting at 6:30pm there will be a movie night in Town Square. The featured movie will be Freebirds. There will be food trucks and remember to bring your chairs as well as bug spray if it is warm. To add to the local holiday festivities on Friday night December 10th from 5:30 – 9:00pm there will be the Harmony Winterfest in the square. There will be Christmas carolers, Santa & Mrs. Claus, food trucks, DJ and games, horse and carriage, snowslide, and more. This will be free to Harmony residents. On December 24th in the Harmony Town Square, there will be a Christmas service put on by Harmony Community Church which starts at 6:00pm. The service will be about 30 minutes and remember to bring your chairs. They read the Christmas story with carolers as well and a short message on what this time of the year is all about. Give Kids The World Village has a mission to provide critically ill children and their families with a magical week-long vacation at no cost. Each sponsor pays for a house in which the children and their families stay for their vacation. The Village itself is like a mini amusement park and everything is free which is awesome! People can visit the Village and see the beautiful lights for the Holidays. There are different fees depending on the time of year and it's all for a great cause, to help the children who are ill. We hope you enjoyed the walk-through of the local holiday festivities in Harmony Florida for November and December. We want to keep you up to date with the amazing events that Harmony puts on so everyone can take advantage of them and enjoy the Holidays!
