Season 8, Episode 116 "Alone, but never lonely."I'm recapping my Valentine's Day weekend and my Grandma's 69th birthday celebration. This week reinforced that while I may be alone in my relationship status, I'm never lonely. I reflect on the importance of self-love, self-treatment, and how being whole within yourself prepares you for a monogamous relationship. As a certified lover girl, I value genuine connections, but I admit that love can feel scary when you realize you can't control how someone else feels about you. And what does it even mean when someone says “let's just try”?Beyond love and relationships, I dive into an important conversation about safe sex and procreation, discussing the heartbreaking case out of Detroit where two children tragically lost their lives to hypothermia after their mother, who was homeless, reached out to their father for help, but he declined. This leads me to reflect on the importance of being intentional about who you have children with, as well as my estranged relationship with my father.Plus, exciting updates—I'll be a guest on the Hurtbros Podcast this Thursday, and I'm hosting Nail Nation VA's 3rd Annual Nail Tech Battle!Main Topics Discussed:1. Today, we dive into the start of the Democratic National Convention, dissecting the abortion policies of the Democratic Party. With Planned Parenthood offering free abortions at the convention, we're digging into why it's so crucial to really understand the truth about abortion. It's time to focus on the actual policies, not just the personalities, when we're making our voting decisions. We also address the Evangelicals for Harris Zoom call, providing a critical analysis of the bad theology presented and why it doesn't align with our Christian faith. Together, with Fr. Mike, we begin the section on the sacrament of holy Matrimony. We unpack two elements of the sacrament, namely marriage in the order of creation and marriage under the regime of sin. Fr. Mike emphasizes that marriage is a partnership between man and woman that is oriented towards the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 1601-1608. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. What is the purpose of marriage? Is it companionship? Pleasure? Procreation? Having a clear vision for the purpose of something is key in living in harmony with it. As we look at Scripture, we will see that the purpose of marriage is something much bigger than just two people. Marriage is meant to be a picture of Christ and the Church. But what is a picture for? A picture is something that is created by its designer to express the real thing — every marriage that is lived in light of eternity expresses the reality of God's desire to have a personal and intimate relationship with ALL of mankind! It can be so easy for married couples to adopt a shallow attitude in their marriage — to get caught up in the busyness of life forgetting the very purpose for why God has brought them together. But God designed marriage for something so much more glorious than just being busy and living together. In this study on the command of Christ to Honor Marriage, you will be encouraged to see God's purpose for marriage not just for the present, but in light of all eternity!Want to go deeper in studying this command of Christ? On today's Mafia Moments, we discuss some heavy hitting topics with Veronica Max, including the hormone crisis, birth control, home births, and periods. You won't want to miss this one! If you enjoyed this episode, check out the full-length conversation with Veronica Max on episode 233 of the Meat Mafia Podcast!- Veronica Max, owner of Ultra Personal Healthcare, discusses the hormone crisis affecting both men and women due to factors like diet, lifestyle, and environment. [01:15]- Cell phones and screens can negatively impact sex hormones and fertility. Men are losing interest in relationships and have low sex drive, possibly due to low testosterone. [02:30]- Veronica shares her journey of seeking external validation before doing emotional work to find inner happiness. She chose home births despite fear of mainstream medical system. [05:30]- Home birth is a profound, vulnerable experience supported by midwives. Veronica gained comfort and confidence from her first to fourth home birth. [09:00] - Surrendering to the body's divine power during childbirth is key. Birthing at home without medical intervention is empowering. [14:15]- Veronica provides recommendations for finding a good midwife and resources for those interested in home birth. [17:30]- Misconceptions and fear surround home birth and birth control. There is a lack of education about women's cycles and fertility. [19:30]- Celebrating rites of passage like a girl's first period is important to avoid negative emotions from not acknowledging milestones. [21:45]- Society is disconnected from our bodies and fertility. Procreation is a fundamental aspect of life. [23:00]
Welcome back to AAP! We were really grateful this month to host Professor Rivka Weinberg to criticise the two ideologies that guide a lot of our thinking at Antinatalist Advocacy, namely antinatalism and Effective Altruism. What does it mean to honor your father and your mother? At the very least, it means to be grateful that the Lord used them to give you life. Procreation is a partnership with the Lord; obviously, a man and a woman have to come together for there to be conception, but it's God who makes life possible. The Lord has delegated power to fathers and mothers to make procreation possible. So, every human life is a product of what the Bible calls the “one flesh” union between a father and a mother. There are no people who do not have both a biological father and a biological mother. Now, many people don't know their biological parents for many reasons, and many other people had parents who were abusive or even evil. And yet, the basic fact is the same: none of us would be here were it not for our parents (and their parents, and their parents, etc.).So, honoring your father and mother must always start with gratitude that the Lord used them to give your life. It can be more than that, but it's not less. And gratitude is always a good place to start.P.S. As the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus (Ephesians 6:2-3), this is the first commandment with a promise. Do this, and things will go well for you.

In this episode with bioethicist and moral philosopher Dr. Travis N. Rieder, we discuss his latest book Catastrophe Ethics, in which he explores how individuals can make morally decent choices in a world of confusing and often terrifying problems. We explore the morally exhausting and puzzling nature of modern life in which individual actions can often seem insignificant in the face of massive and complex systems. Rieder offers suggestions on how to overcome this sense of ‘moral dumbfounding' so that we can better align our actions with our values towards ethical living. Among the small and large individual actions that we discuss, Rieder places a special focus on the ethics of procreation — what he calls monumental ethics — and the degree of moral deliberation that is needed to arrive at the decision to have a biological child. We also discuss the dangers of utilitarian ethics, with a specific focus on Effective Altruism. If man is corrupt and evil all the time, and God sees and grieves over man's wickedness, and declares to destroy man because of his wickedness, what is man's hope to escape corruption, the spread of evil, and God's just judgment?

HELLO HELLO Chosen Girly Swirlies! HAPPY TELL ME BOUT IT TUESDAY- and welcome back for another "HOT TEA HOT TAKE" where today, we are talking all things procreation. How weird are we? Seriously though, we are having a casual chat about motherhood, wifehood, single-hood, and how the Church can be a wholistic supporter of women in their true identity- in CHRIST- not their "role" in life or society. We cover questions like: How has the church missed an opportunity to have conversion about those that don't have children and how they enrich our congregations? Is having children biblical? Or tradition? What does the bible say about family that we can apply to us today? We do mention some triggering topics such as infertility- so please feel free to skip this episode if you need to take care of yourself, as we briefly mention this topic. Find this episode wherever you listen to podcasts, and if you like this episode, please rate and subscribe! We would be so grateful! We should be thinking God's way and not allowing the world to think for us. We should be making decisions based on the Lordship of Jesus in our life, not based on the culture. And we should be saying loud and clear with our lives that children are a blessing.
The less we think, the more we feel. The less we learn to think, the more we rely on our feelings. We need to learn to think through things so we aren't dependent on our emotions.

Many of us had strong convictions about not getting the COVID-19 vaccination because we didn't know what it would do to our bodies and how it might change us. Yet, when it comes to child prevention, there are pharmaceutical cocktails that Christians are putting into their bodies with no consideration about the affects on our bodies. When we take away the divinity of God and the humanity of man working together in procreation by literally changing the creation from the way it was made to function, that should be something we are concerned about. If you have questions and comments about this episode, email Pastor Keith at podcast@nrpastors.com
If we say that children are a blessing, why do we want to limit that blessing? The concern is that we put so little effort into coming to the decision to limit how many children we have. This episode stirs up a conversation on procreation. Send your questions and comments about this to Pastor Keith at podcast@nrpastors.com. We are going to spend the next few weeks on this. Listen to the episodes, and give this real consideration so that no matter what decision you make, the decision is not just a cultural cave-in, but it is truly an intellectual and spiritually-inspired decision that you make because Jesus is Lord of ALL of your life.
Procreation is an unspoken rule in many communities. The lack of children creates lots of shame, especially for women. Interestingly, there is higher incidence of specific fertility challenges that occur specifically in the South Asian Community. I go deeper into this conversation with fertility expert and coach Dr. Erica Bove. Erica Bove, MD, is a double board certified OB-GYN and Reproductive Endocrinologist, as well as a certified life coach through The Life Coach School. She is a practicing fertility specialist at the University of Vermont. She is also the founder of Love and Science: Thriving through Infertility, as well as the head coach for Dr. Kavetha Sun's Heal Your Relationships Program. In the fertility world, she has a keen interest in marrying an evidence-based approach with intuitive knowing n the context of a trusting physician patient relationship. As a life coach and thought leader, she is passionate about bringing this same integration to the coaching relationship. She is an expert in the field of sex and intimacy, as well as embodiment and mindful self compassion. She believes that the best outcomes are obtained when the whole person is seen and understood. Her mission is to heal and support the healers and to create a legacy she is proud of. Website: loveandsciencefertility.com
