RC2C Host Neil Scott shares his conversation with Danette Gavis, a very successful woman entrepreneur - and a woman in long-term recovery. She chronicles her path over the last nine years. There is a point in the interview where she talks about returning home after treatment. I mention a song that was written, produced, and recorded by singer/songwriter John Batdorf. Due to copyright reasons, we are not allowed to include music in podcasts, but I offer a link here, so you can hear this poignant song, titled 'Mama's Comin' Home Tonight'! https://youtu.be/iBCeVgViI7o?si=rVi3lAYzwdhQ0emx This edition of 'Recovery - Coast to Coast' concludes with an inspirational message about self-pity from actress Ali McGraw, a woman in long-term recovery.

Play along at home with the lyrics: [Verse 1] Who's gonna tell you when it's too late? Who's gonna tell you things aren't so great? [Chorus] You can't go on, thinking nothing's wrong, (mumble) Who's gonna drive you home tonight? [Verse 2] Who's gonna pick you up when you fall? Who's gonna hang it up when you call? Who's gonna pay attention to your dreams? Yeah, who's gonna plug their ears when you scream? [Chorus repeats] [Verse 3] Who's gonna hold you down when you shake? Who's gonna come around when you break? [Chorus repeats x2] last with extra emphasis: Oh, you know you can't go on thinking nothing's wrong (mumble) Who's gonna drive you home tonight? My hour was OK this time, but unhelpfully my decks crashed! Doesn't happen often but it happened this time, so we had a little bit of awkward silence while I did a quick reboot. I could've edited it out but I decided to keep it in… it's live radio, baby - it is what it is! Once we were back in action these was time for some funk, disco and boogie, a bit of housier stuff and a lovely epic finish. For the second hour I was thrilled to hand proceedings over to Phonk D - talented producer, DJ, label head and owner of a mighty fine moustache. Dirk came to my attention about 6 years ago with his awesome First Choice edit that was being played everywhere for a while, and which I played in the first hour of this show. His mix is a wonderful meander through mellower vibes taking in the likes of Mr Scruff, cranking up the pace a little bit towards the end. A very nice mix it is too! I'd written this poem years back. I can't even remember the context or the time. But it brings an overwhelming feeling of loneliness, of evanescence - of people and loves who move on, always too soon it seems. Parting seems like demise, and its irrevocable passage doesn't make it any easier. Bitter lovers have often talked of such periods as those of wasted opportunity, as if anything which doesn't have a classic consequence or a desired denouement is a phase in futility. The fallacy of endings being more important than the rush of the journey. But those who know about transience, who know that life is only a zen exercise, an observance of moments, know how life is both accumulation and movement, of experiencing and moving on. All my poet friends keep telling me "Don't wallow in nostalgia! It is treacly. Too much sentimentality is dangerous to health." Maybe. What I do love doing is to think back and smile. Of having reconciled with what travels, what hurts, what sustains, what follows, what stays. And of looking back at it all, as the hurt and gain of irrevocable passage. f you liked this poem, consider listening to these other poems on departures - Letting Go (because I am alive) Favourite People (who we love and leave) Departures Follow me on Instagram at @sunilgivesup. While keeping items like processed chicken nuggets, french fries, and corn dog bites on the kids menu, Denver City Council voted to restrict restaurants from putting beverages other than milk or water on those menus for kids to order. Juice and soda pop would still be available by request, but what are Democrats trying to accomplish with this edict? Also, there is an epidemic of impaired and distracted driving and it's costing lives on Colorado roads. What should be done to curb this trend?

On the 47th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review the 1976 classic album from Aerosmith, "Rocks." Rocks was Aerosmith's 4th studio album. The album continued Aerosmith's climb as perhaps America's preeminent hard rock band of the 1970's. The album was one of the first albums to ever get shipped platinum and has gone quadruple platinum. The album also reached number 3 on the US Billboard album charts. Aerosmith is led by one of the best singing and charismatic frontmen in rock history, Steven Tyler. Steven's vocals are one of a kind and style is unmatched. Aerosmith is led by dual guitar attack of Joe Perry and Brad Whitford. They trade off leads and rhythm guitar throughout the album. The rhythm section is Tom Hamilton on bass and Joey Kramer on drums. All the musicians as a whole are vastly underrated. The album was produced by the legendary Jack Douglas. Rocks features that classic Aerosmith style and see them continue the ascension to the top of the rock bands of the 1970's. Rocks features classics like, Back In The Saddle and Last Child while containing some of Aerosmith's favorite deep cuts, like Rats In The Cellar, Home Tonight & Nobody's Fault and Sick As A Dog. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous 45 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew.

Date: January 11, 2023Name of podcast: Backstage Pass RadioEpisode title and number: S4: E1: Tony Carey (Rainbow, Planet P Project, Pat Travers, Joe Cocker) A Musical Magician From Hawkeye Rd.Artist Bio -Tony Carey & Planet P Project Tony Carey first appeared on the international stage in 1975, playing keyboards for Ricthie Blackmore's Rainbow. Carey played on the classic albums ‘Rising' and ‘On Stage', in the Rainbow lineup including Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powell, Jimmy Bain and Ritchie Blackmore, touring the world for 2 years. A California native, Carey relocated to Germany in 1978 to pursue a solo career. Learning-by-doing, he recorded several instrumental albums, playing the lion's share of the instruments: keyboards, bass, guitars, and drums. He tried his hand at singing in 1980, recording his vocal debut album, ‘In the Absence of the Cat', followed by ‘I Won't be Home Tonight', which was signed by fledgling (and scandal-ridden) label Rocshire Records in Anaheim, California. ‘I Won't Be Home Tonight' was a radio sensation in America in 1982, with the single reaching #8 on the Rock Radio Billboard chart. The prolific young songwriter was in the studio daily between 1978 - 83, recording in different styles. His science fiction - themed ‘Planet P Project' caught the attention of Geffen Records, and the eponymous album containing the single ‘Why Me' was an MTV smash, followed by the album 'Some Tough City', which yielded 2 Top 40 singles in 1984: ‘A Fine, Fine Day' and 'The First Day of Summer'.This was followed by the now-classic ‘Pink World' double pink vinyl release by Planet P Project.A more detailed discography/biography appears here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_CareyHampered by serious illness in 2009, Carey made a full recovery and has spent the last years recording and touring in Europe and Scandinavia. Carey has recorded and released over 40 records, and produced records by John Mayall, Chris Norman, David Knopfler, Joe Cocker, and Peter Maffay (Germany's top-selling rock artist). He has done several film scores and published well over 1,000 songs.Carey's 2013 release 'Steeltown' (Planet P Project') reflects his love of and appreciation for Norway, thematically exploring the history and struggles of this fascinating country.2019 marks Carey's 50th Anniversary as a Beat Poet/Still Hippie/Not- Dead- Yet Person, and will be commemorated by the release of 'Lucky Us', his first non- Planet P Project Record in, well, a very long time - and the re-release of 12 Catalog albums, which include five 'PPP' records, two albums of other folks' songs (Stanislaus County Kid I & II), a Christmas record (!), and a movie-soundtrack-without-a-movie, in addition to 3 solo albums.Sponsor Link:WWW.ECOTRIC.COMBackstage Pass Radio Social Media Handles:Facebook - @backstagepassradiopodcast @randyhulseymusicInstagram - @Backstagepassradio @randyhulseymusicTwitter - @backstagepassPC @rhulseymusicWebsite - backstagepassradio.com and randyhulsey.comArtist Media Handles:Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/tony_carey_official/Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/teecee68Call to actionWe ask our listeners to like, share, and subscribe to the show and the artist's social media pages.
