Min 3: MENÚ REVITALIZANTE POST ANILLOS No lo tenía nada fácil esta semana el mundo de las series por varios motivos. El primero, el espectacular fin de semana en las salas de cine con tres peliculones que han calmado los ánimos tras el revuelo del “Joker Musical” y, segundo, porque estamos en el primer fin de semana huérfanos de “Los Anillos de Poder”. Pero, mira por donde, el menú REVITALIZANTE que nos trae Raquel Hernández trae varios platos que, vía humor, vía thriller y vía animación, van a permitir a las plataformas aguantar bien el pulso. Min 5: DISCLAIMER: Apple Tv vuela alto con Cuarón y Blanchet Es sin duda la gran novedad de la semana. Alfonso Cuarón (“Gravity”, “Roma”) convierte en miniserie y en thriller de altos vuelos una novela de éxito que habría sido el material perfecto y original para una gran película de suspense. Cate Blanchet, Kevin Kline o Sacha Baron Coen llevan el peso de una historia subyugante que remueve el turbio pasado de una documentalista de éxito. Una apuesta fuerte de Apple Tv que se sigue abriendo paso a base de calidad y proyectos de alto nivel. Min 18: LA FRANQUICIA: Sam Mendes pone el humor en Max Y no menos sorpresiva es la entrada en el catálogo de Max de una comedia ácida dirigida por otro director oscarizado como Sam Mendes (“1917”, “American Beauty”, “Camino a la perdición”). “La franquicia” nos ofrece una aguda, ágil y corrosiva disección del arrogante y deshumanizado mundo de la industria audiovisual con un ritmo trepidante y un guión no apto para espectadores sensibles a lo políticamente incorrecto. Min 28: NETFLIX DESEMPOLVA EL PUNCH DE “LARA CROFT” Y la carta que Netflix se reservaba en la manda para conseguir compitiendo ha llegado en formato animación y con la intención de seguir y respetar el canon de la aventurera de videojuegos más icónica de la historia. “Tomb Raider: La Leyenda de Lara Croft” va dirigida a un público juvenil y también a los amantes de una saga que ha regalado grandes momentos de acción en el cine. Min 35: Javier Botet: un manchego en el Fin del Mundo Es el actor que se ha escondido detrás de personajes terroríficos como el leproso de “It”, el Drácula de “El último viaje del Demeter”, el monstruo de “Mamá” o “Slender Man”. Es de Ciudad Real y una de las presencias más rompedoras en el arranque de la exitosa y trasgresora comedia de Prime Video “En Fin”. Javier Botet nos atiende desde casa para celebrar la campanada de su amigo David Sainz desde la dirección y para avanzarnos algunos de sus proyectos. Hollywood ha vuelto a llamar a su puerta para convertirlo de nuevo en un personaje fantasioso, pero no le importaría seguir haciendo comedias sin moverse de España. Min 48: BSO EL MISTERIO DE SALEM'S LOT Y el género que nos faltaban para completar el cocktail, el terror, llegará vía musical con la recomendación que nos trae Ángel Luque. La plataforma Max ha vuelto la vista atrás para remozar y convertir en película original una de las miniseries de vampiros más recordadas d la televisión: “El misterio de Salem's Lot”. Debutan en Estamos de Cine Nathan Barr y Lisbeth Scott gracias una banda sonora impecable y equilibrada que busca más la elegancia del terror clásico que la distorsión y el impacto del terror moderno.

A falta de grandes títulos esta semana en las salas de cine, las plataformas echan leña al fuego para mantener vivo un pulso que se anima estos días con la subida de tres novedades tan interesantes como diferentes. Min 5: RAPA. Temporada final En Movistar Plus ya está la tercera y última temporada de RAPA, que nos devuelve a un Javier Cámara en silla de ruedas y en estado de gracia interpretativa. La serie afila su propuesta argumental para mantenernos en vilo y para cerrar una de las mejores series españolas que se han visto en esta plataforma. Min 14: EN FIN: la sorpresa negra y roja de Prime En Prime ha sorprendido el estreno de una comedia negra y distópica creada por David Sainz y protagonizada por José Manuel Poga Malena Alterio, Raúl Cimas o Javier Botet. El mundo se enfrenta a un apocalipsis con el acercamiento imparable de un planeta desconocido. La serie pone el foco en España, donde muchos no dudan en entregarse a una despedida orgiástica de la vida desvinculándose de sus familias y de sus obligaciones. Aunque no es fácil entrar en el humor negro y casi grotesco del primer capítulo, Raquel Hernández nos recomienda adentrarnos en el desarrollo de la serie para descubrir su calidad y la originalidad de su propuesta. Min 23: EMILY EN PARÍS. T 4 (y 2) Y Netflix pone el glamour y el colorido con el broche final de la cuarta temporada de EMILY EN PARIS. Segunda y última remesa de una nueva temporada en la que Emily sigue dando vueltas a sus dudas emocionales y amorosas, que podrían abrirle las puertas a un cambio de aires y a un viaje que embocará la serie hacia un interesante cambio de ciudad y de escenario. Min 29: “Palacios de Piedra” Anillos de Poder 2x05 La segunda temporada de “The power of rings” sigue avanzando con paso firme.En su quinto capítulo la trama se espesa y pone el foco sobre uno de los temas nucleares de la saga: la creación de los anillos de poder para los hombres. Saurón sigue intentando convencer al maestro elfo Celebrimbor para poder corromper a toda la Tierra Media y sumirla en las sombras. Min 36: BSO THE RINGS OF POWER 2: 5 estrellas de Ley Y atención al gran momento musical que nos reservamos para la recta final de este capítulo. Aunque renegó de la serie tras el final de la primera temporada, nuestro experto en bandas sonoras ha caído rendido a la calidad de esta segunda temporada de Los Anillos de Poder. Para explicar el flechazo musical, Ángel Luque nos propone un recorrido por la Tierra Media para disfrutar de la brillante creación del compositor americano Bear McCreary. Tal es el nivel que, el último de los temas elegidos por Luque para cerrar programa, coloca a esta banda sonora por encima incluso que la compuesta por Howard Shore para la trilofía cinematográfica de “El Señor de los Anillos”. ¿Será para tanto?

El actor y director Javier Botet viaja a la Babilonia del Siglo XVIII para conocer a Hammurabi y su famoso código: una de las primeras legislaciones de la historia. Guerras, leyes e incluso una prueba de casting ante el propio rey Hammurabi para participar en la mayor epopeya de esa época: la de Gilgamesh. Haciendo de monstruo, por supuesto. Ever been on a bad ocean cruise? I guarantee it wasn't as bad as the voyage in The Last Voyage of The Demeter. You may have heard of the Demeter briefly in other Dracula movies but this movie gives you the full story. The Demeter is the ship that transported Dracula from Romania to England according to Bram Stoker's Dracula novel. In that novel, there is a small section containing the captain's log from the Demeter, telling a story of an evil killing his crew. This movie takes that small section and turns into a 2 hour movie. Corey Hawkins, from Straight Outta Compton and The Walking Dead, plays Dr. Clemens who joins the crew under Captain Eliot, played by Liam Cunningham from Game Of Thrones. Further and further into the voyage, more and more creatures are found dead with bite marks and soon the crew start becoming victims of Dracula. The doctor have to try to fight off the evil might of Dracula with the help of a girl from a Transylvanian village Dracula was keeping as a food source. Is this movie worth saving from the sleep of the undead or should you just put a stake in it's heart? Check out this spoiler-free review to find out. Clay McLeod Chapman is the author of novels Ghost Eaters, Whisper Down the Lane, The Remaking, and miss corpus, story collections nothing untoward, commencement and rest area, as well as The Tribe middle-grade series: Homeroom Headhunters, Camp Cannibal and Academic Assassins. His new novel, What Kind of Mother, arrives on September 12, 2023. Other projects include Quiet Part Loud, a 12-part horror podcast series from Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions, written by Chapman and Mac Rogers. Chapman's story late bloomer was adapted into a short film, directed by Craig William Macneill. An official selection at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, the short won Best Short at the Lake Placid Film Festival and the Brown Jenkins Award at the 12th Annual H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival. Determined to make better lives for themselves, Madrid town square "mascots" Tony and Jose, in their guises as a silver-hued Jesus and a green-skinned toy soldier, rob a shop specializing in the exchange and purchase of gold. Joined by Jose's son Sergio, who has forsaken his homework for a day with dad, the men make off with countless rings and other gold trinkets, commandeering a taxi driven by Manuel, and containing a passenger who just wants to get to Badajoz. Their goal: make it to France, safety, and prosperity. Just one problem: Sergio left his backpack in the store, and his notebook has Jose's address on it. It soon becomes clear to Jose's wife Silvia that her son has been involved in a robbery and is being pursued through the country. She jumps in a car and joins the pursuit herself, only to be followed by two cops, Calvo and Pacheco.
