Punk Legends Return With New Singles Compilation#punkmusic #newalbum #newwave #compilation #powerpop The Furys are one of Southern California's first New Wave/Punk/Powerpop bands! The group's first single was released in 1977 (“Hey Ma” b/w “Jim Stark Dark”), and 1978's “Say Goodbye to the Black Sheep” was an international success, garnering extensive airplay, press, and live performances. According to founding member and lead vocalist Jeff Wolfe, “The Furys formed in 1977 as a reaction to the dreadful noise that was on the radio at that time.” 1979 saw the release of the “Moving Target” / “We Talk We Dance” single which elicited substantial critical response. Now the band is back with a new singles collection titled “New Wave Hit Parade” which encompasses all three of the group's vinyl singles from 1977-1979 as well as The Furys 1987 mini-album “Indoor/Outdoor”. Also included is The Furys 2016 digital single “The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore”. This is the first ever digital release of the vinyl records. In conjunction with “New Wave Hit Parade” and upcoming releases of new material, The Furys will be performing live in Autumn 2023. Long standing members, Jeff Wolfe and Dave Lewty will be joined by guitarists Cliff Roman (The Weirdos), Jeff Jourard (The Motels) and Ray Herron (The Sloths) on drums.“New Wave Hit Parade” is available through all streaming platforms: https://album.link/tf-nwhpTo purchase The Furys “New Wave Hit Parade”: https://thefurysband.bandcamp.com/album/new-wave-hit-paradeTo purchase The Furys singles:“New Wave Girl”: https://bit.ly/thefurys-newwavegirl“Action Reaction”: https://bit.ly/thefurys-actionreactionTo purchase The Furys EP:https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-furys-ep/id859677503The Furys official website: https://thefurysband.comThe Furys reverbnation: http://www.reverbnation.com/thefurys4The Furys Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/The-Furys-148310765373316The Furys 21st century FB page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/446752238687819/?fref=tsInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thefurysband/X: https://twitter.com/thefurysbandFor all our social media and other links, go to: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/the_vibes_broadcastPlease subscribe, like, and share!

Overcoming Life's Challenges to Achieve Success with Jeff Wolfe * What is the #1 trait of successful people? * What to do when your career path is disrupted? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mrbiz/support
A company founder approached me last week with a problem. He has had a critical role open for the past 6 months and no one has accepted his offer. 5 people had been offered the job and every single person turned it down. When asked why, the founder said, “I did a great job selling each one of them from the beginning so It must have been the money”. Then I asked, “what was it that the person you were trying to hire really desired in their next role. To that his response was “I have no idea”. We get so busy selling that we forget to ask. Interviewing is not about selling. Interviewing is about understanding the truth of what is important to the person on the other side of the table. And understanding is how we avoid turned down offers! Guest Bio: Jeff Wolfe is an energy and cleantech industry leader and serial entrepreneur. He has spent his career creating new solutions in the built environment and clean energy. As CEO of Veloce Energy he is working to accelerate the electrification of everything by creating systems that reduce the cost, time, and complexity of powering EV charging and building electrification. He has been President for the Americas of a global EV charger manufacturer, worked in retail energy and in a multi-national oil company, and designed over a billion dollars of hospitals, laboratories, and other infrastructure. Today we discuss: Why listening during the interview process produces results How to let candidates lead you to the truth and ultimately the right hiring decision HIRING STORY: Met 4th cofounder through 3rd party Brought him on over zoom Didn't meet him for 5 months Challenges today? Aggressive employee environment Wages going upLower wages Can't settle on talent Show people that they want to work for us Communicating mission (Why) Why is this important to the company? Able to hire good people for reasonable compensation Need to find people who want to solve the problems, create the solutions as much as the founders do Rick's Nuggets People not accepting or leaving - not the $$$ People compelled to align with values, mission & purpose How do we solve the problem? Let the person tell you what they need Why do people stay - three elements of compensation Money & Benefits A good work environment and good people to work for Good and important work to do. Provide 1 element, good people will stay for 6 months Provide 2 elements and good people will stay for 2 years Provide all 3 and good people will become great people and will stay a long time Create company culture Learn how to communicate it and own it Don't worry about scaring people away Share fact based beliefs - if people do not believe in the problem being solved, or in the solution, they will do a poor job of executing against it Interview Look for value alignment early. Part of the filtering process What does HR mean Honest relationships Get to a yes/no faster Better yeses and nos Create understanding of the what the fit is Leadership communication Constant reinforcement Whole picture Honest offers No low balling Get people to join rather than be hired Not over-interviewing people Take notes Different people focus on different aspects, based on their expertise, no one person can really do a complete interview Cumulative thumbs up/down It is partially a gut decision. Don't ignore the facts, but the gut needs to align. Rick's Nuggets Values North star for strong team Alignment fuels passion & engagement Interview Interviewing for value alignment Key Takeaways that the Audience can plug into their business today! (Value): Learn to embody and externally express the company culture and mission. Do not be afraid of them Don't worry about being liked by every candidate. A strong culture and mission will attract the right people, especially in these times Define HR as “honest relationships” Guest Links LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffwolfeenergy/ Company: https://www.veloceenergy.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/veloceenergy/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/JeffWolfeSolar Host Links: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rick-girard-07722/ Company: https://www.stridesearch.com/ Podcast: https://www.hirepowerradio.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeEJm9RoCfu8y7AJpaxkxqQ Authored: "Healing Career Wounds" https://amzn.to/3tGbtre HireOS inquiry: rick@stridesearch.com Show Sponsor: www.stridesearch.com

Copyright 2021 - The Energy Show, Barry Cinnamon We did a recent podcast on the Texas power failures, with a focus on practical solutions to these weather-related events. This week I'm happy to have a first-hand perspective of this extended Texas blackout with Jeff Wolfe, CEO of Veloce Energy. Jeff will share his uncomfortably cold experiences for three days — complete with almost- frozen pipes, lack of water, minimal driving, and limited food choices. But Jeff and his family didn't suffer at all…they had a solar system with battery backup. His lights never went out. He had heat as long as there was natural gas pressure. His water pipes didn't burst. The food in his fridge stayed cold. His computer and internet continued to function. Please listen up to this week's Energy Show for Jeff's practical insights on what Texas can do to solve their structural and political electricity problems. And, naturally, specifics about how a solar and battery system can keep your home and business powered up during the next extended blackout.

Copyright 2020 - The Energy Show, Barry Cinnamon In response to the Financial Crisis of 2008, Rahm Emmanuel — at the time Barack Obama's Chief of Staff — quipped: “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” The death, economic destruction and havoc wreaked by the Covid-19 crisis is by no means “good;” nevertheless, sometimes it does take a life-economy-society altering crisis to overcome the inertia that stands in the way of fundamental changes. One of those changes that we need to make relates to our archaic electric grid. New technologies — wind, solar, batteries, EVs, computer controls, building electrification, software, heat pumps — make the distributed electric grid cheaper, safer and more efficient. But we have over one hundred years of established grid infrastructure practices standing in the way of transforming our electric grid. Companies that are transforming our electric grid have a tremendous market opportunity, magnified and accelerated by any government stimulus spending that may be allocated. The problem is not just isolated to regular upgrades and maintenance of our grid. Instead, the big opportunity is to redesign the grid — much as the interstate highway system revolutionized transportation in the U.S. One new company in this space is Veloce Energy. It's my pleasure to have Jeff Wofe, CEO of Veloce, as our guest on this week's Energy Show. I've known Jeff for over 15 years since he was the founder and Chairman of GroSolar, a pioneering national distributor and installer of solar equipment throughout the US. Jeff and I served for many years on the board of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), where we worked side-by-side on solar policies such as the Investment Tax Credit (ITC). Please listen to this week's Energy Show as we Jeff describes Veloce Energy's grid-edge system architecture. This architecture will provide simplified connections for distributed generation, cost-effective resilience for both buildings and vehicles, and a streamlined path to help us in transforming our electric grid of the future.

The cult has been accused of being the inspiration for Charles Manson's 'crimes of the century', influencing the assassination of Bobby Kennedy, and being the root of the notorious Son of Sam serial killings. Formed in 1960s England, many of its members were drawn from wealthy families and aristocracy. Newspapers branded them the 'Mindbenders in Mayfair' and 'The Devil's Disciples'. Thing is, former members seem to have taken a vow of silence and secrecy. They’ve stayed hush on the group’s beliefs, rituals and closely guarded secrets, and they haven’t addressed even the most mundane of the conspiracy theories levied against them. Until now. // A lot of names on the marquee for this one, and that’s because we’re discussing the Process Church of the Final Judgment with a few folks who know a thing or two about it. First up, Neil Edwards, the director and producer and - well, he did about everything for his documentary on the Process Church. It’s called Sympathy for the Devil?, and after more than two years of screening the film, it’s finally out for mass consumption on home video, so dust off that VCR because it’s well worth the time. Neil’s film gets behind the veils of the cult known as the Process and tracks their journey from their formation in London’s prestigious Mayfair district, through wilderness experiences in Mexico, flirtations with pop royalty, and their spread stateside that resulted in them being ‘christened’ ‘one of the most dangerous satanic cults in America’. The film features contributions and insights from filmmaker John Waters, musician George Clinton, artist Genesis P-Orridge, and several renowned authors, including Gary Lachman, former guest here. It also features commentary from leading former members of the cult, including Edward Mason, who’s also in the house to deliver a ton of inside perspective on the group. And if that isn’t enough, we’re also joined by Jeff Wolfe, who blogs at SecretTransmissions.com and holds a lifelong interest in the theology and psychology of the Process. This is Jeff’s fourth appearance on the show, and he brought a slew of great questions and valuable insights, especially in the Patreon extension, where we want from a foursome, to a threesome, to just Jeff and I chatting. So, an interesting format and progression here for those of you listening on Patreon. And if you’re not and you want to, and believe me, you’ll want to, patreon.com/occulture is the place to be. One of LA's legendary Punk bands, The Furys, have returned to the music scene with a vengeance! On this Big Blend Radio episode, Jeff Wolfe, founding member and lead vocalist, talks about their new self-titled 4-track EP that includes two new recordings by the group, “Wicked White” and “Tear It Down”, as well as their upcoming new releases! According to Wolfe, “The Furys formed in 1977 as a reaction to the dreadful noise that was on the radio at that time.” The band was a forerunner in the DIY movement, writing, producing, performing, releasing, promoting and distributing their first single “Hey Ma/Jim Stark Dark” in 1977. You picked a good time to hit the ol’ play button because we’re having ourselves a foursome for the first time. Erik Davis, Miguel Conner and Jeff Wolfe are all in the house. The basis for this chat is a couple pieces of writing Erik has done on Jack Parsons and what he calls Parsons’ magickal feminism. Erik, of course, is a scholar, journalist, and public speaker best known for his cultural analysis and creative explorations of esoteric mysticism. He’s written about music, art, film, pop culture, and technology for Spin, Details, Rolling Stone and Wired magazines. I had invited Erik onto the show to talk about those Parsons’ articles and was planning to tackle this solo. I even re-read Erik’s book TechGnosis, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, in preparation for this because I did want to pull some ideas out of that too. And the more I got into that book, and the more I got into Parsons and Babalon and magickal feminism, the more that this pairing here just made sense. I know Jeff is a mark for Erik’s work. Miguel is as well, in addition to being one of today’s pre-eminent Gnostic thinkers, and they both brought unique perspectives to this chat. This is, really, the three of us tag-teaming Erik, and it’s one of the better episodes I think we’ve been able to put together. INTERVIEW BEGINS AT 7:58 - Some of you have been clamoring for Jeff Wolfe to return to the show after our first conversation back in episode 23. Jeff, of course, is the scribe at SecretTransmissions.com, one of, I think, the must-read blogs on the intrawebz if you’re into things like the occult or counterculture, or, as is this case with our chat here, the subversiveness of horror cinema. Jeff is one of the biggest horror geeks I know, and I thought it was fitting to ask him back on the show to have a conversation that not only pays tribute to the film genre that he and I love most, but to give a honor two of its very best artisans in George Romero and Tobe Hooper. Both passed away earlier this year, and were primarily responsible for laying the groundwork for what most of us know as modern horror cinema. If you’re a fan of the genre or any of the movies of these guys, you’ll quite enjoy this chat. And if you’re not, hopefully you will be interested in their work afterward. Jeff and I are gonna slip on our leatherfaces, crank up this chainsaw and cast this pod off deep into the heart of the dark counterculture, where zombies and those who run from them aren’t so different.
