What if "mental health" isn't everything we've been told? What if there's more to it than just a “brain chemistry imbalance?”What if what we consider a pathology is actually an ability and a possibility? What if these are not permanent conditions but ones, that with the proper interventions, can actually be changed?Welcome to the Kaleidoscope of Possibilities: Alternative Perspectives on Mental Health, a podcast hosted by Dr. Adriana Popescu, a licensed psychologist, addiction and trauma specialist, and empowerment coach. In each episode, Dr. Adriana examines what is beyond the traditional point of view of mental health diagnosis, care, and treatment. She speaks with leaders and visionaries in the fields of Energy Psychology, consciousness, healing, and empowerment about what is beyond what we have decided we know about mental illness. She also explores the unique and fascinating stories of individuals, and those who care for them, who have used “alternative” treatments and paths to recovery. This show is a journey of discovering the possibilities of holistic care and treatment through a variety of lenses: from the spiritual to the shamanic, the naturopathic and beyond. Each conversation is designed to empower listeners to embrace their own awareness, gifts and capacities, and to create a greater world with them. In this heartfelt and expansive episode of Kaleidoscope of Possibilities – Alternative Perspectives on Mental Health, Dr. Adriana Popescu is joined by Michael McAdams, a lifelong seeker of truth and the author of An Angel Told Me So. Together, they explore the often-misunderstood realm of spirit communication and how it intersects with personal healing, mental health, and spiritual development. She offers hope, perspective, and practical tools to support healing and transformation at all levels, empowering us to look at what's possible when we reconnect with the body's natural wisdom. In this episode: • How unresolved trauma gets stored in the body and contributes to chronic inflammation • The role of the nervous system and cellular memory in trauma • An introduction to BodyTalk and how it helps the body communicate and heal • The power of TRE and the body's natural shaking mechanism for trauma release • Quantum Field Talk Therapy • The importance of healing collective and intergenerational trauma Resources mentioned in this episode: Connect with Veronica on Instagram: @veronica_lets_talk Email: veronica.letstalk@gmail.com Learn more about BodyTalk: https://www.bodytalksystem.com/ TRE Information: https://traumaprevention.com/ About Veronica: Veronica Merchak is a holistic trauma specialist, presently based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her primary focus is how trauma, suppressed emotions, and the situations relating to these emotions, are kept and held in the body. She assists clients in understanding how this can result in certain physical manifestations. She is a Body Talk Practitioner and Trauma/Tension Release Provider. She also uses a talk therapy, Quantum Field Talk Therapy and as a result, she has an innovative approach as she combines these modalities and tailors them according to the client's individual needs. With the objective being to assist clients in releasing the emotional charge of trauma, as well as allowing a safe space for clients to be vulnerable and receptive as they shift their perceptions of trauma and gain a deeper understanding that their bodies are always working for them to protect them, rather than against them. “Your body is not working against you, it's working for you.” – Veronica Would you like to continue this conversation and connect with other people who are interested in exploring these topics? Julia was born with severe nerve damage to her right shoulder and grew up going through the broken Western medicine system. After 23 years of being told her condition would never improve and feeling no lasting relief from any treatments, she was introduced to a unique type of fascia-release bodywork in 2010. In just 3 months of this fascia-specific work, she saw more improvement in the feel and function of her arm than she had in 16 years of traditional treatments! This experience catapulted Julia into learning everything she could about fascia, the critical roles it plays in our movement and overall health, and how to restore it. After learning multiple modalities and working with clients for 12 years, she formulated her own approach for bodywork & foam rolling work called The Fascia Remedy. Using this methodology, she's been able to solve her own bouts of low back, knee, and neck pain in a matter of days, as well as help others quickly alleviate pain, restore movement, and perform at their best. Julia has captivated a community of thousands with her unique bodywork, her fresh take on foam rolling, and her approach to discovering the root source of their pain. Her combination of fascia release, postural alignment, and mindset magic has earned her the nickname “The Pain Relief Wizard" from her community of both professional athletes and everyday movers. “The body holds onto trauma, and it's only when we acknowledge that and work with the body that true healing can occur.” – Julia Would you like to continue this conversation and connect with other people who are interested in exploring these topics?
