Guess who's back?? Child actor Kara Mae Khan! I first interviewed Kara after her “big break” at 7! I loved catching up with Kara, who is now a charismatic 10-year-old and she still has her bubbly personality and enthusiasm for performing. Kara was first discovered while performing in pageants by her agent, leading to a co-starring role in the TV show “Council of Dads,” countless commercials, and now her new starring role in the film “The Shift!” “The Shift” is a sci-fi thriller written and directed by Brock Heasley, it also features cast: Neal McDonough, Kristoffer Polaha, Elizabeth Tabish, and Sean Astin. Produced by Angel Studios' this is their first original feature film. “The Shift,” is the story of Kevin Garner (Polaha) who encounters a mysterious adversary known as The Benefactor (McDonough). When Kevin refuses The Benefactor's enticing offer of wealth and power, he is shifted into an alternate totalitarian regime where he encounters infinite worlds and impossible choices as he attempts to return to the woman he loves (Tabish). Full interview out Thursday! The Shift is out now. It’s the first sci-fi thriller through the lens of faith, The Shift. In the ancient book of Job, Job walks the narrow way and is blessed in every way. But Satan accuses Job: “God, Job’s an upright man only because you give him what he wants. I’ll bet if you take it all away from him, he’ll turn his back on you.” And God allows it. That’s the inspiration behind the new sci-fi thriller, The Shift starring Neal McDonough from Minority Report, Kristoffer Polaha from Wonder Woman 1984, Sean Astin from Lord of the Rings and Liz Tabish from The Chosen. Perry talks with producer Ken Carpenter about what drew him to The Shift, (creating a film with deep wrestling and doubt), how we resist the temptations of the enemy, creating faith adjacent films that don’t have easy answers, the crazy ending to Psalm 88 and Bono’s take on Christian music. Perry also talks with Ken about the amazing cast of The Shift and wrestling with pride as we create art for God’s honor.Support the show: https://give.moodyradio.org/fall-share?v=def&appeal=MRWM&_gl=1%2a142i9we%2a_ga%2aNTE4MTE5MmUtY2U1Yy00YmQ3LWU4MmUtNjEwYTQ5YzAyODRj%2a_ga_4WH1937046%2aMTY5NTExODEwMS4yOTkuMC4xNjk1MTE4MTAxLjYwLjAuMA..&_ga=2.197426156.215784306.1695059984-1182841406.166859587See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
It's finally here! The Thanksgiving long weekend AND of course, A Biltmore Christmas. Mary and Sarah sit down to chat through the most anticipated Hallmark Christmas movie ever. Did it live up to expectations? What's the story of Biltmore anyway? How should we #redpenrewrite it? Have a listen....but as a preview #morepolaha !! Bring on the movie within a movie!! Lucy Hardgrove (Joy Lenz) is a screenwriter who lands the job of a lifetime when she's hired to pen the script for a remake of the beloved holiday movie, His Merry Wife! First filmed in 1947 at beautiful, historic Biltmore House, it has long been considered a Christmas classic. When the head of the studio isn't satisfied with the ending Lucy wrote because it deviates from the original's feel-good conclusion, he sends Lucy to Biltmore Estate for research and inspiration. While there, she unwittingly discovers the ability to travel to the 1947 set of His Merry Wife! through the help of an hourglass. After shaking off the initial shock of this turn of events, Lucy embraces this as her chance to uncover the truth about the movie's original ending. While on set, she and Jack Huston (Kristoffer Polaha), one of the film's stars, spend time together and become close. But her sudden appearance has set off a chain of events that put the production in jeopardy. Before she can return to the present, Lucy must make things right or threaten to alter the future forever. Starring Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha.

How does it feel to always be the bad guy? Neal McDonough has an idea. The actor has played some of the biggest villains in TV shows like “Desperate Housewives,” “Suits,” and “Yellowstone.” In fact, he's filmed over 50 death scenes in his career! Now the veteran actor, known also for his appearance in “Band of Brothers,” is taking on portraying the biggest villain of them all, Satan. It's in the new film called “The Shift” that hits theaters December 1st. It's from the same studio that brought us “Sound of Freedom” and is a modern-day sci-fi retelling of the book of Job. Nine-time Emmy winner David Sams talks with Neal about taking on this daunting role, reshaping his career when he was criticized for refusing to kiss on screen, and so much more. You can get more information about “The Shift” movie at Angel.com/TheShift. #NealMcDonough #AngelStudios #TheShiftFilm #DavidSams #KeepTheFaith #ContagiousInfluencer

Anna Gomez was born and raised in the city of Makati, Philippines before she met and married her best friend who whisked her away to Chicago over twenty years ago. You may recognise Anna as she has been on our show twice before. She came on alongside actor and author Kristoffer Polaha. They wrote a book series together and we talked about the difficulties and joys of doing so.Anna is a full time career woman who thought she could write a book about her life (The Light in the Wound, Christine Brae 2013) and then run away as far as possible from it. She never imagined that her words would touch the hearts of so many women with the same story to tell. Since then, Anna has released six more books under her pen name, Christine Brae.In December 2019, her agent convinced her to write one more book. Different model, different subject matter. Clean, contemporary, happy endings. Reluctantly, she decided to give it a try. This time, under her real name, Anna Gomez. When not listening to the voices in her head or spending late nights at the office, Anna can be seen shopping for shoes and purses, running a half marathon or spending time with her husband and three children in Chicago.Anna is represented by Italia Gandolfo of Gandolfo Helin Literary Management, and is published by the Vesuvian Media Group. Her latest novel is MY GOODBYE GIRL:“A heart-wrenching tale of two people destined to be together. Simon and Tessa are fantastically portrayed as star-crossed lovers whose lives are worlds apart. Even those who are not fans of romance will enjoy the relationships, scenery, and beautiful prose of this book. Five stars!”BUY IT HERE: https://amzn.to/443dbUKHey! Megan and Wendy kick off their 2023 summer podcast schedule with a review of "Mystery 101" from 2019. This crime-drama stars Kristoffer Polaha and Jill Wagner and was the first in the series for the Hallmark Channel. Email the show and let us know which older Hallmark Channel movie you would like Girls Gone Hallmark to review! Email: meganandwendy@gmail.com Megan and Wendy review fan favorite "Mystery 101" starring Kristoffer Polaha and Jill Wagner. About "Mystery 101" Mystery 101 has a Wikipedia page! It premiered originally on Jan 27, 2019 on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. Earlier this year, Polaha gave an interview with Just Jared. Regarding an 8th installment he said “We love telling those stories and whatever the network decides…it's inconclusive,” also adding “there's always been conversation about number eight, [but] there's no like official word.” Kristoffer Polaha stars as Detective Travis Burke. He has an impressive 77 acting credits with his first dating back to 2001 as Dylan in the teen vampire drama “Angel.” On deck for Polaha: “Harlan Coben's Shelter” and the highly anticipated “A Biltmore Christmas” for Hallmark. Related: "A Winning Team" Hallmark Movie Review Jill Wagner plays Professor Amy Winslow. She has 31 acting credits including 6 episodes of the MTV prank show Punk'd and it looks like her first Hallmark movie was “Autumn Dreams” from 2015. Related: Jill Wagner in a clip from Punk'd Robin Thomas plays Amy's dad Graham Winslow. Want to talk about impressive resume, this guy has 137 acting credits listed on IMDb. I recognized his face immediately from the old soap opera “Another World” where he played Mark Singleton from 1983-1985. I have absolutely NO IDEA how I remembered him considering I was 8 years old. He's also been in a movie I was too young to watch called “Summer School” from 1987, “Who's the Boss?” “Fuller House” “Damages” - tons of others.
Shocking byt also expected news came Sunday through a comment on Instagram that Mystery 101 was indeed over. This was later confirmed by Kristoffer Polaha in an Instagram Story. Sydney and Eric share their initial reactions in this bonus episode. There is some grief, some confusion, and ultimately some optimism. Oh we're definitely talking about Kris Polaha's tragic hairstyle in this movie. Megan and Wendy review "A Winning Team" Hallmark's newest original movie starring Kristoffer Polaha and Hallmark newcomer Nadia Hatta. Check out that heated debate in our Girls Gone Hallmark Facebook group. Or, email the show at meganandwendy@gmail.com to tell us what you thought of this week's Kristoffer Polaha soccer movie. Megan and Wendy review Hallmark Channel's "A Winning Team" starring Kris Polaha and newcomer Nadia Hatta. About "A Winning Team" Kristoffer Polaha plays Ian. Everyone knows who Polaha is. He was in last year's “We Wish You a Married Christmas” and had a cameo in “Haul Out the Holly.” He will star in the highly anticipated “A Biltmore Christmas” later this year. According to his IMDB, he has a ton of upcoming work including "Harlen Coben's Shelter." Nadia Hatta plays 3-time World Cup soccer champion Emily. According to IMDB she is best known for her role in a series called “Away” on Netflix. This is her first Hallmark movie. She was also a VJ at MTV Asia. You may have recognized Adil Zaidi as Ian's friend. At the time of recording, he hadn't been given credit on IMDB. He typically plays a lot of “friend-of” roles in Hallmark movies. I wouldn't mind seeing him as a lead. This was written by Ronee Uyeshiro. This is her first writing credit. Jason Furukawa directed. He has 13 directing credits including last year's “A Magical Christmas Village.” Filmed in Vancouver during winter - which made this spring movie hard to film, especially the outdoor soccer scenes.

When Jesus set about gathering His disciples, He chose people from very different backgrounds. His disciples included fishermen, a tax collector, perhaps one of royal blood, and a revolutionary. Not only did they find a working commonality, they were united and transformed through their relationship with Jesus. After Jesus' ascension, this same rag-tag twelve took the good news that Jesus taught to the farthest reaches of the world. Today's guests, like Jesus' disciples, have come from very different backgrounds and taken Jesus' love and message to very different destinations. Kristoffer Polaha lives in Hollywood with his wife Julianne Morris and their three children where he is an actor, producer, director, and writer. Scott Sauls is the senior pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN, where he and his wife Patti have two daughters. Scott has also written six books. I had to literally just say, ‘God, it's in your hands. If you want me to be an actor, you open up doors, and if you don't, you will close them. I am no longer going to try to control this thing.'” - Kristoffer Polaha “If you believe there is a God in the universe who created the universe and everything in it, everything that is seen and unseen, and that the hairs on our head are numbered, then why wouldn't you just want to constantly be in contact with that?” - Kristoffer Polaha “We become more and more the people that God has created us to be through the crucible of hard things...You can't take contentment for granted based on your circumstances.” - Scott Sauls “We are supposed to use our emotions as part of the stewardship of the lives that we've been given by God.” - Scott Sauls “The secret of contentment can be found in any and every circumstance and in any and every outcome.” - Scott Sauls ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel: Audio Playlist: https://bit.ly/2PrbuwH Video Playlist: https://bit.ly/2PsmEkJ What's Good?
