The latest OWASP Top 10 for LLMs aims to help organizations understand and mitigate these risks. In a recent episode of Redefining Cybersecurity, host Sean Martin sat down with Sandy Dunn and Rock Lambros to discuss the latest updates to this essential security framework. The OWASP Top 10 for LLMs: What It Is and Why It MattersOWASP has long been a trusted source for security best practices, and its LLM-specific Top 10 is designed to guide organizations in identifying and addressing key vulnerabilities in AI-driven applications. This initiative has rapidly gained traction, becoming a reference point for AI security governance, testing, and implementation. Organizations developing or integrating AI solutions are now evaluating their security posture against this list, ensuring safer deployment of LLM technologies.Key Updates for 2025The 2025 iteration of the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs introduces refinements and new focus areas based on industry feedback. Some categories have been consolidated for clarity, while new risks have been added to reflect emerging threats.• System Prompt Leakage (New) – Attackers may manipulate LLMs to extract system prompts, potentially revealing sensitive operational instructions and security mechanisms.• Vector and Embedding Risks (New) – Security concerns around vector databases and embeddings, which can lead to unauthorized data exposure or manipulation.Other notable changes include reordering certain risks based on real-world impact. Prompt Injection remains the top concern, while Sensitive Information Disclosure and Supply Chain Vulnerabilities have been elevated in priority. The Challenge of AI SecurityUnlike traditional software vulnerabilities, LLMs introduce non-deterministic behavior, making security testing more complex. Jailbreaking attacks—where adversaries bypass system safeguards through manipulative prompts—remain a persistent issue. Prompt injection attacks, where unauthorized instructions are inserted to manipulate output, are also difficult to fully eliminate. As Dunn explains, “There's no absolute fix. It's an architecture issue. Until we fundamentally redesign how we build LLMs, there will always be risk.”Beyond Compliance: A Holistic Approach to AI SecurityBoth Dunn and Lambros emphasize that organizations need to integrate AI security into their overall IT and cybersecurity strategy, rather than treating it as a separate issue. AI governance, supply chain integrity, and operational resilience must all be considered.Lambros highlights the importance of risk management over rigid compliance: “Organizations have to balance innovation with security. You don't have to lock everything down, but you need to understand where your vulnerabilities are and how they impact your business.”Real-World Impact and AdoptionThe OWASP Top 10 for LLMs has already been widely adopted, with companies incorporating it into their security frameworks. It has been translated into multiple languages and is serving as a global benchmark for AI security best practices.Additionally, initiatives like HackerPrompt 2.0 are helping security professionals stress-test AI models in real-world scenarios. OWASP is also facilitating industry collaboration through working groups on AI governance, threat intelligence, and agentic AI security. How to Get InvolvedFor those interested in contributing, OWASP provides open-access resources and welcomes participants to its AI security initiatives. Anyone can join the discussion, whether as an observer or an active contributor. As AI becomes more ingrained in business and society, frameworks like the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs are essential for guiding responsible innovation. Sometimes organizations know they need to do something to improve their cybersecurity posture … or, in some cases, something more, something different. They know there is a disconnect between cybersecurity and the business — they just don't know how to get started or transition to get the best results, given their unique environments and operating processes. What's truly innovative about RockCyber's cybersecurity assessments is how they intertwine cybersecurity strategies directly with business alignment and outcomes. This is not just about securing IT assets; it's about shaping cybersecurity as a strategic advantage that supports overall business goals. The service is tailored for organizations that need a cybersecurity approach that is not only robust but also aligned with their business objectives, enhancing both security and business performance. This approach solves the key problem of the disconnect between cybersecurity practices and business objectives, which many companies struggle with. The RockCyber vCISO and cybersecurity assessment services are particularly valuable for organizations where security must be a driver of cyber resiliency and growth, not just a protective measure.Let's talk about how this changes the future for our customers. Traditionally, cybersecurity has often been a siloed IT function, reactive and disconnected from core business functions. RockCyber's assessments transform this by integrating cybersecurity with business strategy, making it a cornerstone of business planning and execution.Imagine a before scenario where a company's cybersecurity efforts are technically adequate but not aligned with the strategic business initiatives, leading to inefficiencies and missed opportunities. After a RockCyber assessment, this company strengthens its security and aligns its cybersecurity strategy with business objectives, ensuring that every security investment directly supports business growth and resilience. With the assessment in place, RockCyber clients typically lean in on the virtual CISO services where the RockCyber team can take the knowledge we have in the field — both figuratively and literally — to establish a strategy that will begin the process of maturity and lead the organization down a path of cyber sustainability. For example, with one recent oil and gas client, the cybersecurity program the RockCyber created not only reduces cyber risk and improves the ability of the organization to handle and manage a potential cyber incident, but it aligns directly with the organization's key objectives:Maintain operating reliabilityDrive positive impact on revenue and profitEnsure digital and physical safetyTo achieve this, the team at RockCyber kept the big business picture in mind while focusing on breaking down the problem into smaller projects that be accomplished successfully, building on the past to continue to improve the future. The RockCyber cybersecurity assessment and vCISO services provide the following benefits:Establish a business-aligned strategic vision while bringing the skills, experience, and technology needed to execute tactically.Helping the organization to identify key challenges in security operations, staffing, training, execution, and communication and to help them overcome these challenges with confidence, giving them peace of mind to know we are there by their side every step of the way.Rock invites you all to connect with him via LinkedIn where you can find some of his musings on this topic and so many more. Dr. Ryan Lambros and Paul Krauss MA LPC discuss: Is Religious Deconstruction Good for your Mental Health? Deconstruction is the free act of valuing (evaluating) what was, experiencing what is, and holding a posture of curiosity moving forward.  Some points to consider: A.The intention of this discussion is not to destroy a faith system. It's not even to deconstruct a faith system. “De” words won't provide holistic health. Rather, the intention is to evaluate systems, dogmas, and ideas based on our experience and reason. Curiosity and compassion are key to pursuing spiritual health. The intention is to offer freedom, hope, and beauty for people to pursue healing in their spiritual journey. B. Why are so many people deconstructing Evangelical Christianity and leaving the church? C. The church isn't controlling the narrative anymore. D. Are we lacking deep and meaningful spirituality practices in our current culture? Also Discussed: Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, Evangelical movement, Power, Money, Control, a partial History of the Church, Sex-Cult, Patriarchy, bibliolatrous behavior, critical thinking, scientific exploration, Spirituality, Healthy Spirituality, Unhealthy spirituality, Gaslighting, Narcissism, Truth, "truth", Catholic Priest letters from 500 years ago, Jesus, the Book of Enoch, the Gnostic Gospels, the Bible, US Politics, dogma, tithing, religious fundamentalism, capitalism's influence on the church, purity culture, internal family systems, counseling, therapy, trauma, defense mechanisms, human adaptation, "the self", integration, healing spirituality, curiosity, compassion, learning from myths, etc. Dr. Ryan Lambros is a Certified Life Coach and Chaplain in Gilbert, AZ. He is married to Jessica, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and they have two sons.  Ryan completed his doctorate from Northwind Seminary with his doctoral work focusing on the intersection of philosophy and psychology as it pertains to a phenomenological metaphysic of healing.  Ryan is passionate about walking with people in their healing journey, specifically in relationships and religious trauma. Website: www.thetablecoach.com/coaching Instagram: @tablecoaching Bonus IG: @hereticallife "On this immediate level of life and structure, myths offer life models. But the models have to be appropriate to the time in which you are living, and our time has changed so fast that what was proper fifty years ago is not proper today. The virtues of the past are the vices of today. And many of what were thought to be the vices of the past are the necessities of today. The moral order has to catch up with the moral necessities of actual life in time, here and now. And that is what we are not doing. The old-time religion belongs to another age, another people, another set of human values, another universe. By going back you throw yourself out of sync with history. Our kids lose their faith in the religions that were taught to them, and they go inside."- Joseph Campbell Myth is powerful not just because it holds value in its literal-ness (which it may), but because it transcends the literal facts as well - offering us something more valuable than truth…beauty. -Dr. Ryan Lambros Get involved with the National Violence Prevention Hotline: 501(c)(3) Donate Share with your network Write your congressperson Sign our Petition Looking for excellent medical billing services? The boom times are over. To succeed in a post-pandemic world, talent leaders must move beyond delivery and embrace a more strategic role. In this episode, Chris talks to Paddy Lambros, Talent Director at venture capital firm Atomico, to explore how in-house recruiters can earn their seat in the C-suite. Change is inevitable, argues Paddy, and it's a sink-or-swim situation. But the best leaders can rise above turbulent waters by demonstrating adaptability, foresight, and a deep understanding of their organization's goals. Paddy also talks through a strategic hiring process and shows how data-led insights and tactical planning can help manage stakeholder expectations. Finally, the conversation turns towards the future, as Chris and Paddy predict how AI could shape the talent space. Spoiler: its impact will be game-changing – but not in the way we might expect. Meet Matt Lambros, an American urban explorer and photographer with a passion for abandoned theaters. Over nearly two decades, he has diligently documented decaying theaters in America and actively works to revive them. Matt collaborates with theater owners and offers photography workshops. In our interview, he emphasizes his ethical approach to access, contrasting it with less scrupulous practices in urban exploration. We delve into the Newark's Adams Theatre incident, where Canadian explorers had a confrontation with the owners, gaining Matt's insights. Matt also shares his humorous ghost-hunting past and how he transitioned from documenting state hospitals to theaters. Kings Theatre holds a special place for Matt, and he authored a book about it. He recalls a suspenseful encounter with a homeless individual at the theater. Matt's near-death experience at the Palace Theatre in Gary, Indiana, due to falling plaster, adds to his remarkable stories. Matt recounts other intriguing experiences, such as a man chaining himself to save a theater, a flooded entrance at the Foxborough State Hospital, and a warning through a camera-speaker system. Our conversation reveals Matt's preparedness and touches on his trips to England and a chilling discovery of a deceased homeless person in an abandoned building. Kenya welcomes Anna Lambros, a Massachusetts based background actor, yoga teacher and Reiki Master. Anna first talks about her family's journey from Italy to Boston, and how the sense of feeling different as a bilingual child gave her inspiration to search for inner strength and community. Anna opens up about fear being in the background of many of her choices, and how pivoting from elementary school teacher to yogi and actress gave her the opportunity to face that fear head on and help others do the same. Finally, Anna talks about her love of background work and rising above the need to justify herself to move forward towards her own dreams.   Brought to you by Source & Cast   Also Talked About: Anna shares her gratitude for both her Italian roots and the opportunity to live the American dream. The diverse world of being an immigrant in America left Anna feeling different and quite fearful of the outside world. Anna's challenge with learning English and the role of television as her “teacher” and “family” in working through that challenge. Anna explored fear in her adult life and did a lot of self inquiry on why the fear was there, and how she can move forward from the fear of failure and judgment that was holding her back. The importance of creating a safe space for kids to face their fears. How facing her fear has helped Anna develop special tools that have helped her throughout her life. Fear doesn't just go away - it's a practice. What a legendary spaghetti commercial had to do with Anna's full circle moment doing background acting. How Anna's athletic ability and flexibility have helped her in some of the roles she's been cast in. Anna is more than fine with not being the star. Just the sense of community and accomplishment that comes with being on set as background is a beautiful feeling for her.   Say Hi To Us: Needed On Set | FB | IG | TikTok Source & Cast   Guests: Anna Lambros: FB | IG

On this episode of the podcast we sit down and have a great conversation with returning guest, Captain Deane Lambros .Deane's passion for fishing began at a very young age, as did his exposure and dedication to offshore fishing specifically. Deane joined the Canyon Runner Sportfishing Team in 2009 as a mate. He then earned his captains license in 2010, and worked his way up to being captain of the "Canyon Runner" 48' Viking in 2013, at age 24. He then spent 14 years full-time working aboard the Canyon Runner fleet. Deane is a passionate, hardworking, and skilled captain who sets an excellent example of what a good charter captain should be. Deane still fishes often and works freelance aboard several boats during the summer and tournament season in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.*In August 2022 Deane was a crew member aboard "The Right Place" in the Mid-Atlantic Tournament and won 2nd and 3rd Place Tuna ($793,014 in winnings) In this conversation, we cover a lot of great topics. We are able to run Deane through our rapid fire questions of the day. He discusses why he decided to "retire" from Canyon Runner and move onto a new venture in the insurance industry and oyster farming. Deane also reflects on his career as a charter captain and mate. He tells some great stories about the scariest and funniest moments he's had offshore. We always enjoy talking with Deane and we learn something new during every conversation. Hope you do too!*This conversation was recorded in May 2022. Just before we began our own charter fishing season. This month begins a three-month-long effort for me and The Financial Gym team to connect again in person with our community. In partnership with Community Spirit Vodka, we'll be touring 9 cities and bringing our community together for the first time in almost three years. It's an exciting time for us and I wanted to spend this month on the podcast talking about community and the importance of it.  Today I'm talking to Jacey Lambros and Danielle DeAngelo, co-founders of the company Jane Do who set out to build a community of empowered women, faced extreme headwinds to their business during the pandemic, but persevered and continue to focus on their important mission. They join me to share what keeps them motivated and where the company is going to go in this next chapter.  For more information, visit the show notes at https://www.martinisandyourmoney.com/show-notes/episode438

Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) have historically been managed by separate teams. But with cyberattacks targeting IoT devices on OT systems in recent years and opening the possibility of breaches spilling over to IT networks (and vice versa), OT and IT teams realize just how much they need each other. As a result, the cybersecurity industry is seeing a convergence between OT security and IT security. In this episode, Rock Lambros, CEO and founder of RockCyber, discusses how CISOs are taking the lead by pushing for OT and IT teams to collaborate to understand each other's challenges and how their knowledge can help improve the security postures of each other's networks. Lambros also examines the different perspectives of IT and OT teams and how CISOs can collaborate with OT teams to achieve organizational success—where operational and information systems benefit from a strong security posture that allows the company to function at peak efficiency._______________________Community Member Contributor: Rock LambrosCEO and founder of RockCyber [@RockCyberLLC]On Twitter | https://twitter.com/rocklambrosOn LinkedIn | https://www.linkedin.com/in/rocklambros/______________________For more podcasts from Crucial Conversations with The Blue Lava Community, visit: https://www.itspmagazine.com/crucial-conversations-podcastTo access the full collection of Blue Lava Community resources, visit: https://itspm.ag/blclog22To learn more about Blue Lava, visit: https://itspm.ag/blue-lava-w2qs______________________Are you interested in sponsoring an ITSPmagazine Channel?
