With more than fifteen years of experience building, launching, and acquiring brands, Neil shares his invaluable insights on how businesses can thrive on Amazon by avoiding common mistakes, building strong brands, and navigating the ever-changing challenges of logistics and profitability.Get ready to learn why standing out in a competitive marketplace is about much more than price, how the right mindset and patience are key to building lasting success, and what the future holds as AI transforms the way sellers connect with customers. Whether you're just starting out on Amazon or looking to elevate your business to the next level, this episode is packed with tactical advice, firsthand stories, and the trends every seller needs to watch. So grab your coffee, settle in, and join us as we explore what it really takes to succeed on Amazon—and beyond!Guest Bio:Neil grew up in Oregon's Rogue Valley, a place he remembers as the birthplace of drive-through coffee kiosks—like the now-famous Dutch Bros. He's witnessed firsthand how these roadside stands sparked a national love affair with coffee, a trend that rapidly spread over the last few decades. Despite America's growing coffee craze, Neil enjoys sharing a calming ritual with his wife every evening: sipping a turmeric-blend tea together for its anti-inflammatory benefits and a bit of daily connection.3 Fun Facts:Neil grew up in Oregon, where the first coffee drive-thru kiosks appeared, and his family hosts full-scale tea parties with vintage china and treats.Neil prefers to only sell products on Amazon with at least $12 in net profit per unit, often focusing on higher-ticket items like $200 audiophile cables instead of low-margin, high-volume commodities.Neil predicts that Amazon's upcoming AI tech, called "Cosmo," will fundamentally change product discovery from keyword-based to intention-based, making it even more important for sellers to have high-quality, well-optimized listings.Key Themes:Strategies for Amazon FBA profitabilityImportance of brand building and trustNavigating shipping and logistics challengesAdapting to AI and automation trendsThe value of patience and perseveranceLeveraging omnichannel ecommerce approachesOptimizing listings through strong visuals/copy

Podcast with Crystal Miceli, Vice President of Product & Industry Marketing ORLANDO, FL – In a live interview from the show floor at Enterprise Connect 2025, Crystal Miceli, Vice President of Product & Industry Marketing at Talkdesk, joined Technology Reseller News publisher Doug Green to unveil three major product announcements from Talkdesk. The news highlights the company's ongoing innovation in AI-powered customer experience, with new capabilities that are already resonating with customers and prospects at the event. Talkdesk After Hours “Talkdesk After Hours has been the talk of the show,” said Miceli. “It's a turnkey solution that lets companies go from an 8-to-5 operation to 24/7 support in 59 languages.” Designed for businesses that lack resources for around-the-clock support or multilingual agents, After Hours gives them the ability to compete with enterprises that do—without the overhead. AI Agents for Voice Talkdesk also announced the general availability of AI Agents for Voice. “We were one of the first to market with agentic AI in a contact center platform back in October,” Miceli noted. While digital channels were the initial focus, Talkdesk has now cracked the more complex challenge of voice—enabling autonomous agents that can complete tasks in real time, without latency or awkward pauses. It's part of the company's broader Ascend AI platform. Talkdesk Knowledge Creator The third announcement addresses a long-standing challenge in contact centers: knowledge management. “AI is hungry for knowledge,” explained Miceli, “but creating and maintaining that knowledge is labor-intensive.” Talkdesk Knowledge Creator automates the process by surfacing the most-needed answers based on real customer interactions, generating knowledge cards for approval and reuse. “For the first time, customers are seeing a real solution to a problem they didn't think could be solved.” AI That Works—Now While many vendors are talking about agentic AI, Talkdesk is delivering it. “We're not just talking—we're shipping,” said Miceli. “These are generally available products today.” She also emphasized Talkdesk's industry-specific focus across healthcare, finance, and retail, giving customers tailored solutions to fit their regulatory and operational needs. Talkdesk at Enterprise Connect Talkdesk showcased these innovations at booth 1105, where visitors could see live demos and explore how AI-powered tools can be deployed quickly and effectively. Erik Peterson, founder and CTO of Cloud Zero, discusses the critical importance of understanding and optimizing cloud costs, particularly in the context of AI. He emphasizes that businesses must shift their perspective from viewing cloud expenses as mere costs to seeing them as investments that should yield returns. By linking technology decisions to business goals, organizations can gain insights into their spending, allowing them to prioritize effectively and drive better outcomes. Peterson argues that understanding unit economics is essential for digital businesses to thrive in a cloud environment. The conversation delves into the complexities of AI costs, highlighting the challenges companies face when trying to measure the expenses associated with AI models. Peterson points out that many organizations are experimenting with AI without fully grasping the financial implications of their initiatives. As companies build advanced AI systems, they often overlook the costs of data movement and compute resources, leading to potential financial pitfalls. He stresses the need for businesses to understand the true cost of their AI endeavors to ensure they are achieving a positive return on investment.Peterson also addresses the current landscape of AI adoption, noting that while there is significant hype around generative AI, real success is found in solving specific, well-defined problems. He explains that organizations that focus on specialized applications of AI, where outputs can be validated, are seeing tangible benefits. By creating workflows that leverage multiple AI agents, companies can enhance their operational efficiency and make informed decisions about their spending. Finally, Peterson encourages businesses to view cost management as a driver of innovation rather than a hindrance. He cites examples of organizations that have successfully integrated cost considerations into their development processes, leading to faster innovation and improved product offerings. By adopting a mindset that prioritizes cost efficiency alongside creativity, companies can navigate the complexities of cloud spending and AI implementation, ultimately achieving greater success in their digital initiatives. They call it “False Spring” in Maine. The weather warms up, and the result is acres and acres of mud everywhere. While it's not good for many outdoor activities, it is made-to-order for all-terrain vehicle testing. That's exactly what co-host Chris Teague did with the 2025 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road. One of several Tacoma variants, the TRD Off-Road is equipped with monotube Bilstein remote reservoir shocks that facilitate extended wheel travel and offer greater heat dissipation, properties that are useful when splashing through the mud. One question many ask about the new Tacoma revolves around the new powertrain. Does the turbo-four adequately replace the tried-and-true V6? Chris Teague will answer that question and many others in his comprehensive review. At the other end of the country, Host Jack Nerad didn't have mud to deal with. Instead, his major obstacle was the heavy traffic around Phonix as snowbirds from the Midwest and West locked to baseball's Spring Training. Nerad's ride for this second stint in Arizona this spring was the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta GLI, the performance version of the popular compact sedan. With 228 horsepower under the hood and a six-speed manual shift lever in his right hand, Nerad and his wife, Sandi, made their way to a pair of exhibition baseball games while simultaneously putting the Jetta GLI through its paces. Recent data indicates a concerning decline in the U.S. consumer outlook, with a significant drop in the sentiment index across various demographics. Despite inflation easing, expectations for future inflation have surged, leading to a cautious approach from the Federal Reserve. This economic uncertainty is influencing IT spending decisions, as businesses prioritize demonstrating ROI and cost efficiency in their technology investments.Small business owners, however, are exhibiting a surprising level of optimism, with surveys indicating high confidence levels despite the chaotic political landscape. Many entrepreneurs are increasingly relying on artificial intelligence to enhance productivity, with a notable percentage planning to adopt AI tools to save time. Yet, challenges remain, such as work-life balance issues and financial concerns, which continue to affect their overall well-being. The disconnect between optimism and actual spending behavior suggests that while small business owners may feel resilient, they are hesitant to make new investments. In the realm of technology, Kaseya has expanded its AI-powered cybersecurity offerings, aiming to enhance customer efficiency and profitability. The company has introduced several new features designed to strengthen security postures against cyber threats. Meanwhile, Zoom and Google are also making significant strides in AI productivity tools, with Zoom launching new features for meeting management and Google transitioning to its new AI platform, Gemini. Send us a textIn this engaging episode of The Digital Executive Podcast, host Brian Thomas sits down with Maria Greicer—a seasoned executive with over 18 years of experience in AI-driven startups spanning Israel, Europe, and the USA—to explore the transformative world of machine vision technology. With a unique blend of entrepreneurial acumen and a medical background, Maria offers listeners an insider's view into how emerging AI innovations are reshaping industries worldwide.Throughout the conversation, Maria delves into the distinctive AI ecosystems of different regions. She highlights Israel's dynamic and risk-friendly environment, where a strong startup culture fuels rapid innovation and frequent experimentation. In contrast, she explains that while the U.S. benefits from abundant capital, its approach is somewhat more conservative. European markets, on the other hand, prioritize stability and predictable growth, which can sometimes slow the pace of breakthrough innovations. These regional nuances, Maria notes, have significantly influenced her own approach to leadership and strategic decision-making in the tech industry.Maria further explains her role at Keymakr, where she leads initiatives to create and optimize high-quality training data for machine vision AI applications. She details the company's proprietary annotation platform, Keylabs AI, which underpins their rigorous in-house process for developing training data sets tailored to diverse applications—from autonomous vehicles and in-cabin safety systems to precision agriculture and medical imaging. Emphasizing the importance of stringent quality control, Maria outlines how every project undergoes a four-tier review process to ensure the highest data integrity and model reliability. The discussion also touches on the challenges posed by global data privacy regulations. Maria recounts real-world scenarios where navigating varying international data protection laws—such as GDPR in Europe and similar stringent standards in the U.S.—requires a meticulous approach to data consent, security, and processing. Her insights reveal how Keymakr's commitment to ethical data practices and in-house processing not only safeguards sensitive information but also positions the company at the forefront of compliance and innovation.Ultimately, this episode offers a comprehensive look into the evolving landscape of machine vision AI, blending technical insight with real-world experience. Listeners gain a deeper understanding of how strategic risk-taking, cutting-edge technology, and robust data governance are key to driving innovation in today's fast-paced digital environment.

The AI revolution is here, and it's a gold rush.  But are you protecting your valuable AI innovations?  This week on The Richer Geek Podcast, we talk with Robert Plotkin, a leading AI patent attorney with over 25 years of experience. Robert helps cutting-edge AI companies worldwide secure patents that not only protect their intellectual property but also drive profit. In this episode, we're discussing... Patents are more than just legal weapons; they are valuable business assets that can be licensed, sold, and used to attract investment. Patents provide a crucial deterrent against competitors, even if you never intend to initiate a lawsuit. They also significantly increase your company's valuation for potential acquisition. AI-assisted creations, including prompts and inventions developed using AI, can be patentable, but the specifics are crucial. Strategic IP is paramount for AI company success, impacting fundraising, profitability, talent acquisition, and exit strategies. While copyright and trade secrets offer some protection, patents provide unique and powerful safeguards for AI innovations. Patent litigation, though often expensive, is increasingly accessible to startups through innovative financing options. Early consultation with a patent attorney is vital to avoid inadvertently forfeiting patent rights through premature public disclosures.
