Jordan's King Abdullah II just visited Washington to meet with President Trump. All eyes are on Jordan as it harbors a convicted terrorist, Ahlam Tamimi, who was sentenced to prison after masterminding the 2001 bombing of the Sbarro pizzeria in Jerusalem. Tamimi was released from Israeli prison to her native Jordan as part of the deal to free captured Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit. She has been roaming free since. In fact she is a celebrity in Jordan and the Arab world as presenter of her own TV show beamed throughout Jordan and all over the world. One of the children murdered by Tamimi's savagery was 15-year-old Malki Roth, one of two American murdered that day. Today, Tamimi is America's most wanted female fugitive with a $5 million reward on her head. Arnold Roth is Malki's father and his words are urgent, compelling, and insightful. Dr. Mostafa Malki is a professor at UT-Rio Grande Valley and executive director for business development at America's Additive Foundry Center for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Cyber Systems. He is also the founder of Aaron Economic Consulting. Dr. Malki recently gave a presentation about business opportunities tied to additive manufacturing at the eBridge Center for Business & Commercialization in downtown Brownsville. During the presentation he said there is a great opportunity for the Rio Grande Valley to forge partnerships with manufacturing and technology companies from Sweden. The Rio Grande Guardian interviewed Professor Malki at the conclusion of his presentation. Asked to tell Guardian readers and viewers about Sweden, Malki said: “Where should I begin? There's so much to say about Sweden.” Malki said Sweden is a relatively small country, population wise, but area wise, is very big. It has a population of about ten million. “It has very low population density, but it has also very big presence in terms of industries and innovation and so on. It's one of the top countries in the world in terms of innovation and entrepreneurship and so on,” Malki said. “If we can calculate a ratio of multi-billion-dollar corporations per capita, they are probably the number one country. There are a lot of very big companies that are household names, Volvo, IKEA and Ericsson and so on that are Swedish companies. There are some that are also very big multinational companies, but they're not very well known because they do business to business type of work.” Malki visits Sweden a lot. “It's a very fascinating country, for a very small country to be able to be a major player in manufacturing industry and innovation,” he said.Editor's Note: Go to the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service website to read the full story.Go to www.riograndeguardian.com to read the latest border news stories and watch the latest news videos.

In the latest installment of The Growing Revolution, we spoke with Charles Malki who is the founder of IV Organic, based in Southern California. He came onto our radar as we were browsing on Instagram and came across his page for IV Organic where he has a ton of information on trees, organic gardening and much more. Like many of us, Charles had a love for plants from a young age, cultured by his mother and grandfather. His lifepath was leading him into medicine where he had an early interest in cardiology. He then decided to get his law degree and became a practicing attorney in Florida for around a decade. It was when he decided to move back to Southern California that he started IV Organic, and it's first product, the 3 in 1 Plant Guard, which is an organic substitute to the whitewashing that many tree growers will use to protect their trunks from disease, sunscald and pests. Charles also is an author, and writes about how backyard gardening can save the world. His book provides easy to understand lessons on how to be more productive in the garden and live a healthier lifestyle. IV Organic also has a couple of all purpose fertilizer products that focus on the six major macro elements needed for optimal plant health. Traditional ag fertilizers will only focus on NPK. We greatly appreciate Charles joining us on the podcast, and for being a great advocate for the organic commercial grower, and homegrower.

Jasmine Malki doesn't have a singular career path, she's mixing it up in a portfolio career where she's consciously attending to and activating her strengths. She's on an ongoing journey to test out possibilities, explore the nuances of what gives her joy and fulfillment in work, and live her life to align with these. This gives her great energy and enables her to be effective, productive and valuable wherever she contributes her talent and experience. “A pandemic was not on my radar.”Most of us would probably agree with Faris Malki, the owner and operator of a bicycle repair and service shop in Birmingham, Alabama called Cahaba Cycles. The reality is that, even though very few of us—if any—would have predicted the COVID-19 outbreak this time last year, many businesses have made sharp and fast changes to adapt to the rapidly evolving business environment we've seen so far in 2020.For Cahaba Cycles, that meant discerning whether or not the company was “essential,” facing a massive influx of business, pivoting to offer curbside service, navigating complicated supply chain factors and more.In this episode of The Wrap, Malki and Warren Averett Asset Management's own Josh Reidinger join our podcast hosts to share how Cahaba Cycles responded to and adapted in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, how their story compares to that of the larger retail industry, and how other businesses can learn from their experiences.
One year after the birth of her daughter, Sarah Malki opens up about her struggles with postpartum anxiety and depression, as well as what helped her get through it.
David Malki takes us through how he developed the Wondermark Web Comic, the benefits and challenges of using the Internet in creative enterprises and the history of the sick elephant storyline.See the comic at wondermark.com http://wondermark.comAnd back the Kickstarter at http://wondermark.com/book See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. Strategy Block: Uncle Mike Tosaw discusses his trading, or lack thereof, on this particular day. Mail Block: Listener questions and comments Question from Malki k. - I was surprised to see that FIT options are trading already, listed a little quicker than I thought. I like the stock but not at these levels, so I am looking at some downside strats. One that caught my eye was Aug 30-26 1x2 put spread - looks like I can buy the spread for somewhere around $.60 - $.90 depending on current prices. What is your opinion of that strategy? Not married to that time frame so I could also go longer term to November for $.10 - $.70. Seems like Nov puts are a little bit pricier. Before you say it, I know that this strategy can potentially get me long the stock from $26, but I am more comfortable with that price level than $33.50. And I would have all of the profits from my spread to reduce the effective purchase price of the stock to the low-20s range. Question from Andrew J. - FIT Nov 25/40 bullish risk reversal for even money - thoughts? Around the Block: Earnings! Tuesday - ConAgra Foods Inc. Wednesday - Constellation Brands, Inc., General Mills, Paychex, Inc.
