He arrived at Be'er-Sheva and offered sacrifices to the G_d of his father Yitz'chak. 2 In a vision at night G_d called to Isra'el, "Ya`akov! Ya`akov!" He answered, "Here I am." 3 He said, "I am G_d, the G_d of your father. Don't be afraid to go down to Egypt. It is there that I will make you into a great nation. 4 Not only will I go down with you to Egypt; but I will also bring you back here again, after Yosef has closed your eyes."Genesis 46:5 So Ya`akov left Be'er-Sheva; the sons of Isra'el brought Ya`akov their father, their little ones and their wives in the wagons Pharaoh had sent to carry them. 6 They took their cattle and their possessions which they had acquired in the land of Kena`an and arrived in Egypt, Ya`akov and all his descendants with him — 7 his sons, grandsons, daughters, granddaughters and all his descendants he brought with him into Egypt.Genesis 46:8 These are the names of Isra'el's children who came into Egypt, Ya`akov and his sons: Re'uven Ya`akov's firstborn; 9 and the sons of Re'uven — Hanokh, Pallu, Hetzron and Karmi. 10 The sons of Shim`on: Y'mu'el, Yamin, Ohad, Yakhin, Tzochar and Sha'ul the son of a Kena`ani woman. 11 The sons of Levi: Gershon, K'hat and M'rari.Genesis 46:12 The sons of Y'hudah: `Er, Onan, Shelah, Peretz and Zerach; but `Er and Onan died in the land of Kena`an. The sons of Peretz were Hetzron and Hamul. 13 The sons of Yissakhar: Tola, Puvah, Yov and Shimron. 14 The sons of Z'vulun: Sered, Elon and Yachle'el. 15 These were the children of Le'ah whom she bore to Ya`akov in Paddan-Aram, with his daughter Dinah. In sum, his sons and daughters numbered thirty-three. Genesis 46:16 The sons of Gad: Tzifyon, Haggi, Shuni, Etzbon, `Eri, Arodi and Ar'eli. 17 The children of Asher: Yimnah, Yishvah, Yishvi, B'ri`ah, and their sister Serach. The sons of B'ri`ah were Hever and Malki'el. 18 These were the children of Zilpah, whom Lavan gave to Le'ah his daughter; she bore them to Ya`akov — sixteen people. Genesis 46:19 The sons of Rachel Ya`akov's wife: Yosef and Binyamin. 20 To Yosef in the land of Egypt were born M'nasheh and Efrayim, whom Osnat the daughter of Poti-Fera priest of On bore to him. 21 The sons of Binyamin: Bela, Bekher, Ashbel, Gera, Na`aman, Echi, Rosh, Mupim, Hupim and Ard. 22 These were the children of Rachel who were born to Ya`akov — in sum, fourteen people.Genesis 46:23 The sons of Dan: Hushim. 24 The sons of Naftali: Yachtze'el, Guni, Yetzer and Shillem. 25 These were the sons of Bilhah, whom Lavan gave to Rachel his daughter; she bore them to Ya`akov — in sum, seven people.Genesis 46:26 All the people belonging to Ya`akov coming into Egypt, his direct descendants (not counting Ya`akov's sons' wives), totaled sixty-six. 27 The sons of Yosef, born to him in Egypt, were two in number. Thus all the people in Ya`akov's family who entered Egypt numbered seventy.Genesis 46:28 Ya`akov sent Y'hudah ahead of him to Yosef, so that the latter might guide him on the road to Goshen; thus they arrived in the land of Goshen. 29 Yosef prepared his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet Isra'el his father. He presented himself to him, embraced him and wept on his neck for a long time. 30 Then Isra'el said to Yosef, "Now I can die, because I have seen your face and seen that you are still alive."Genesis 46:31 Yosef said to his brothers and his father's family, "I'm going up to tell Pharaoh. I'll say to him, `My brothers and my father's family, who were in the land of Kena`an, have come to me. 32 The men are shepherds and keepers of livestock; they have brought their flocks, their herds and all their possessions.' 33 Now when Pharaoh summons you and asks, `What is your occupation?' 34 tell him, `Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth until now, both we and our ancestors.' This will ensure that you will live in the land of Goshen — for any shepherd is abhorrent to the Egyptians."Credit to:https://unsplash.com/photos/pathway-between-trees-74TufExdP3Yhttps://unsplash.com/photos/black-and-white-arrow-sign-Vckq-heaypghttps://unsplash.com/photos/gray-wall-paint-taO2fC7sxDU

EVs are the future… or are they? In this episode, Yamin Vong breaks down the reality of electric vehicles in Malaysia, the roadblocks to adoption, and whether we're really ready for a fully electric future - what's hype, what's practical, and what still needs work. But it's not just about swapping engines. We're talking efficiency, safety, and the environmental impact of EVs, because while they seem like the greener choice, there's more to the story. The tech is evolving fast, but so are the challenges. At the end of the day, the big question is trust. Will consumers embrace EVs, or are we still in the trial-and-error phase? It's a conversation about the realities of electric mobility, the trade-offs we don't always hear about, and what it'll take for Malaysia to truly go electric. 00:00 - The Rise of Electric Vehicles (EVs) 14:14 - Autonomous Driving and the Future of Mobility 32:52 - Safety Concerns and the EV Experiment --- Yamin Vong is a veteran automotive journalist who started his career in 1980 and who's now transitioned to digital platforms including a column in the www.freemalaysiatoday.com and his Facebook page as yamin.com.my and www.malaysiacaroftheyear.my He's a 4x4 enthusiast and his current mission is to promote to Peninsular Malaysians the great outdoors of Borneo Sarawak and Sabah. Indonesia represents some 30% of global seaweed production, a market with the opportunity to grow to $26.15 B by 2028. Dodon Yamin, Cofounder and CEO of BANYU, joins the Indo Tekno podcast to discuss the company's end-to-end farm technology platform for Indonesia's seaweed farmers. BANYU's value proposition sits upon three pillars: 1) enhanced seedling availability for Indonesia's farmers, 2) the application of blockchain-based smart contracts in order to improve commercially an otherwise inefficient and "leaky" industry supply chain, and 3) the use of IOT-based (Internet of Things) equipment and software to generate data that can be aggregated, stored and analysed for better farming results. Impressed by the success of fellow ITB alumnus Gibran Huzaifah at eFishery (podcasts Season 1 Episode 14 and Season 5 Episode 5), Dodon acknowledges the need for broader investor understanding of Indonesia's rising "aquatech" movement. BANYU has set an ambitious goal of 10x growth both this year and next, seeking to position itself as a key player in unlocking the country's seaweed opportunity.

You're going to hear about the trials and tribulations of this project and get a blue print for how to make your own TV show. Julia & Yamin go in depth on their experience financing, writing, producing, and starring in two seasons of the East WillyB web series. They tell the story of the 7 year journey to selling this pilot. (If you haven't listened to last week's table read, you must). We also discuss Latino/a representation in the media and how the lack of diversity amongst executives plays a role in it. Julia dishes on helpful writer's room advice she got from Dead Pilots Society Alum Sierra Teller Ornelas (her pilot's here, by the way). They also pitch on why East WillB is still relevant today and needs to be on air. Maybe there's an exec listening who wants to hear their new take after the strike. This month's pilot is East WillyB written by Julia Ahumada Grob (Mr. Iglesias) & Yamin Segal (The Wonder Years). It's a half hour comedy based on their indie web series of the same name. It revolves around a truly unconventional family, dysfunctional neighbors who populate the last hold-out dive bar in gentrified Brooklyn. Together they'll face life's challenges — from love, friendship, and legacy, to family and change — realizing they can only do it if they lean on each other; their chosen family. East WillyB was set up at ABC with ABC Studios and Korin Williams and Moonque Nash attached to produce. We had a great cast for this one including Rene Rosado (The Conners), Haskiri Velazquez (Saved By The Bell), Greg Santos (The Neighborhood), Roberta Valderrama (American Princess), The Kid Mero (Desus & Mero), Jamila Velazquez (West Side Story), Ahmed Al-Kadri (David Diamond Hands), and Andrew Reich with stage directions. Rabbi Yamin Levy's phenomenal new book, The Mysticism of Andalusia: Exploring HaRambam's Mystical Tradition, is a remarkable presentation of the Andalusian tradition, a significant but often overlooked part of Jewish history. In this episode, Rabbi Levy shares invaluable insights into the teachings of HaRambam through meticulous research and analysis, challenging the misconceptions that have long surrounded this pivotal figure. His book effectively refutes the notion that Rambam was a "daat yachid," highlighting his role as a transmitter of tradition. We also explore the misunderstood concept of HaRambam being both a rationalist and a mystic (which is further clarified in our interview with Prof. Menachem Kellner, who also wrote a review of Rabbi Levy's book). Rabbi Levy draws a clear distinction between Mysticism and Kabbalah, expanding on the idea that Hebrew mysticism is an anthropological dimension and the very purpose of the human race, as taught by the late Hakham Dr. José Faur a'h. Rabbi Levy's book serves as an excellent introduction to the study of Moreh HaNevukhim (The Guide for the Perplexed), exploring the Andalusian spiritual and mystical practices presented in Rambam's works. In it, he sheds light on topics such as love and awe of God, silent meditation, and the spiritual aspects of mitzvot, Shabbat, tefillah, Keriat Shema, providence, the soul, the afterlife, and the role of the prophet. We also address the misconception that mysticism must be fantastical, superstitious, and magical. He explains the difference between two major strains of mystical tradition: Maaseh Merkabah and the Zohar. Before landing in Beverly Hills, plastic surgeon Dr. Feras Yamin first traveled the globe with his family and then for his medical education, from Iraq to Europe, the Caribbean, Lubbock, Long Island, and finally California.Following medical school, Dr. Yamin loved anatomy so much that for five years he taught the subject at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in the small Caribbean island of St. Kitts. Missing the OR and wanting to put his surgical skills to use, he returned to New York to complete his plastic surgery training with Dr. Richard Reish at Long Island Plastic Surgical Group. He then opened his private practice in New York before moving it to California. While teaching anatomy, Dr. Yamin worked with cadavers, allowing him to deeply examine the nine aesthetic units inside the nose, all of which correlate with each other. Changing things by millimeters inside the nose during rhinoplasty causes massive outcomes on the outside. To Dr. Yamin, the essence of plastic surgery is to restore and augment natural anatomy. When you try to push the boundaries of the body's natural anatomy, you'll run into trouble stability and functionality wise.Dr. Yamin prides himself on being easily accessible to his patients. If they have any concerns throughout their recovery, he's just a call or text away.To learn more about Dr. Feras Yaminhttps://yaminplasticsurgery.com/ Follow Dr. Feras Yamin on Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/feras.yamin.md/ ABOUT MEET THE DOCTOR The purpose of the Meet the Doctor podcast is simple. We want you to get to know your doctor before meeting them in person because you're making a life changing decision and time is scarce. The more you can learn about who your doctor is before you meet them, the better that first meeting will be. When you head into an important appointment more informed and better educated, you are able to have a richer, more specific conversation about the procedures and treatments you're interested in. There's no substitute for an in-person appointment, but we hope this comes close.Meet The Doctor is a production of The Axis. Made with love in Austin, Texas. Are you a doctor or do you know a doctor who'd like to be on Meet the Doctor podcast? Book a free 30 minute recording session at meetthedoctorpodcast.com.

President Herzog is expected to grant Prime Minister-delegate Netanyahu a two week extension to tie things up with his coalition partners - but the agreements reached until now between said parties have already been a source of much dispute. From giving the authority of the Civil Administration in the West Bank to Smotrich, to supplying extremist Avi Maoz with access to the Ministry of Education, the Likud has complied to a list of demands that may be the key to keeping everyone happy - but are also potentially flammable. Yonit and Jonathan analyze the understandings made already, and their controversial outcomes. And while in Israel there are people engaged with forming a government, a group in Germany tried to take down its own. A self-styled prince and an ex-judge were among those arrested in a large raid this week for a bizarre coup plot, borned from the far-right Reichsburger scene, a movement that seeks to return Germany to the system of the second Reich - and has not shied away from antisemitism. We're joined by Bild correspondent Antonia Yamin to discuss the threat of violence and the potential return of Germany's darker days. Plus, all about an author tweeting this week about having two people show at her book - and gaining responses from best-selling novelists who shared that even their literary events weren't always met with a large turnout.
