Postmoderna bývá zaměňována s neomarxismem, absolutním relativismem, platí za synonymum pro slabost západu. Přitom může být právě naopak nahlížena jako tresť toho, proč může být západ intelektuálně mocný. Máme-li porozumět tomu, co je postmoderna, je nevyhnutelné položit si otázku, co je moderna. Postmoderna je jednou z jejích tváří. Možná nedostižnou definici moderny nabídl Max Weber v knize Protestantská etika a duch kapitalismu. Když vám přidá šéf, a vy proto začnete pracovat méně, jste předmoderní – a v nějakém smyslu postupujete logicky. Za kratší dobu a méně úsilí vás čeká stejný zisk. Moderní člověk při navýšení platu začne pracovat více. Šéf pobídkou stimuloval touhu růst – a moderna je přesně toto: představovat si, kam až lze dojít. Moderna je závislost na růstu, tréninku, sebepřekračování. Zatímco moderní člověk se touží někam dostat – a má cíl, třeba svobodu pro všechny –, ten postmoderní ví, že velkoformátové příběhy nejsou nevinné a jejich rubem bývají fragmentární epizody těch, kteří z nich vypadli. Postmoderní člověk se proto zdráhá vyprávět, ale je ještě dost moderní na to, že žije z překračování a věří v trénink. Jenže kam kráčí, když přišel o úběžník? Nešlape na místě? Ne tak docela. Sice ví, že se o moc dál, než kde zrovna je, nedostane, leč to neznamená, že padly všechny mety. Že neexistuje absolutní spravedlnost, neznamená, že neexistuje její lokální verze. Člověk možná nepřijde s ničím převratným, ale stále ještě může převracet systém. Takto lze ostatně definovat ten výjimečný a zřídkakdy uplatňovaný akt myšlení. Myslet znamená jít skrze danost proti danosti. Myslet jinými slovy znamená být si vlastním kritikem. Znamená to vědět, že člověk sice nemůže jinak než být dědicem, ale může to dědictví nově definovat. Ostatně jeden z těch, kteří formulovali, co je postmoderna, Jean-François Lyotard říká: „Mluvit znamená bojovat.“ Říká-li člověk skutečně něco, nezřídka kdy to znamená, že jde jazykem proti jazyku. Autorka podcastu Tereza Matějčková má zato, že postmoderní doba je pryč: kritiky si vážíme málokdy. Buď zvětrala do všudypřítomného feedbacku, anebo ji máme rovnou za nepřátelskou. Pro skeptiky jsme vymysleli slovo „popírači“. Postmoderní ironie dnes navíc vyznívá jako cynismus a do popředí se vrací pathos identity i agresivity. Souvisí to s nadužívanými obrazy zkaženého západu i fašismu. Vhled, který postmoderna ztělesňovala, je důležitý pro svobodu i myšlení: Konsensus je stejně neplodný jako lecjaký spor; avšak jedno zůstává co do své plodnosti nepřekonané: umění sporu. Kapitoly I. Jej ideovú náplň tvorila kritická teória spoločnosti vyrastajúca najmä z marxizmu, existencializmu a psychoanalýzy. Aký je odkaz kritickej filozofie a čo z neho je aktuálne i dnes? Minter Dialogue with Dr Michael Hauser Dr. Michael Hauser is an Emeritus Astronomer. In his capacity as Deputy Director of the Space Telescope Science Institute, he was instrumental in transforming the Institute into a multi-observatory organization that included the work on the Hubble and James Webb space telescope programs. Michael was a member of the COBE science team and was part of the Nobel prize delegation in Stockholm in 2006 when the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to John Mather and George Smoot for their discoveries of the blackbody form and anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background radiation with NASA's COBE satellite. In this conversation, we discuss Mike's career highlights, some of the key discoveries he was part of, the challenges and benefits of international collaborations in light of geopolitics, the value of theory versus observation, the future of space exploration and the nature of ambition in space. Heute begrüssen Felix & Stephan Michael Hauser am Stammtisch. Er ist der Verantwortliche für die Immobilien der Kirchgemeinde Zürich. Dazu gehören 43 Kirchen, 35 Kirchgemeindehäuser, 300 Wohnungen und 55 Pfarrwohnungen in einem Gesamtwert von über einer Milliarde Schweizerfranken. Nicht alle Kirchen werden weiterhin für das Gemeindeleben genutzt werden können. Z.B. die Kirche in Wipkingen wird zu einem Betreuungs- und Verpflegungsort für die angrenzende Schule Waidhalde. Andere Kirchgebäude sollen zu «offenen Orten der Stille» werden. Gleichzeitig gilt es zu überlegen, wie die Kirchgemeinde wirtschaftlich und ethisch sinnvoll mit ihren übrigen Immobilien umgehen kann.

Ein Berg und seine Geschichten! Der Gaisberg und die Zistelalm sind Gesprächsthema in einem Radio Salzburg Cafe mit Michael Hauser. Der Wirt und Hotelier der Zistelalm führt den Familienbetrieb am Salzburger Hausberg und erzählt von den Anfängen seiner Urgroßeltern, die die Zistealm vor 110 Jahren erworben haben. Zur Bewirtschaftung der Almen am Gaisberg waren damals die Zahnradbahn und der Fußmarsch mit den Zistelkörben die Behelfsmittel. Der Gaisberg war aber auch schon früh beliebtes Ausflugsziel und die erste Unterkunftshütte für Wanderer ist Mitte des 19.Jahrhunderts errichtet worden. Es war der Anfang einer bewegten Geschichte für den 1288m hohen Berg.

Michael Hauser ist in Kapstadt geboren und in Zürich aufgewachsen. Vor 33 Jahren zog es ihn wieder zurück in seine ursprüngliche Heimat. Mit seiner Frau Andrea starteten die beiden zunächst eine abenteuerliche Reise mit ihrem Hippie Bus quer durch Südafrika. Heute lebt die Familie in Kapstadt. Mit der Schweizer Kultur ist Michael Hauser bis heute stark verwurzelt. In Kapstadt war er viele Jahre Präsident des Schweizer Clubs: «Wir haben viele Schweizer Freunde hier und treffen uns regelmässig». Doch auch die südafrikanische Kultur kommt nicht zu kurz, sagt der Immobilienhändler: «Ich bin Südafrikaner durch und durch.» «Soziales Engagement ist mir wichtig!» Durch die Pandemie gibt es noch eine grössere Armut in Kapstadt. Dem will die Familie Hauser entgegenhalten: «Jedem der nach Kapstadt reist, sagen wir immer: «Pack with a purpose, packe Deine Koffer für einen guten Zweck!» Oft haben die Touristen etwas Platz im Gepäck: «Ich bringe die Sachen dann an die Bedürftigen.»          

The father of Midwest flamenco, Michael Hauser hasn’t played much in public lately. But as things open up, he’s been able to perform, and he’s already had a show at a familiar spot for him, the Loring in Minneapolis. When Michael talked to Phil Nusbaum, Michael addressed performing again after the Covid-caused hiatus.

Minnesota guitarist Michael Hauser has had a 50-plus year flamenco guitar career based in the Twin Cities. He plays May 14 at the Robert Trail library in Rosemount from 11 till noon. Michael’s work is built on multiple trips to learn from masters in Spain. Michael talked about his flamenco career with Phil Nusbaum.

EUROTRIP 2019: A Dream Come True First off, apologies for the missing podcast last week but it wasn't because they didn't try! With Laurens Wijnschenk-Mauritsz in tow, it was the prime opportunity to record. The problem? A sleepy cell phone! Although Grimsmo's returned to Canada, Saunders is adamant, "There are more factories and I'm not leaving until I see them ALL!" "Screw it, let's do it!" - Grimsmo With only 6 days notice, a gentle nudge from Saunders, and help from Marv Gro, Grimsmo is able to arrange his flight and score incredible tours of TORNOS and KERN. BUT FIRST... Before embarking on his trip, Grimsmo makes a pit-stop at Elliot-Matsurra to sign Swiss paperwork for the Tornos GT13! For now, he's prepping for its arrival with coolant, tooling, and the 6' LNS bar feeder. He's also plans to use TISIS, a software that will aid in the programming process.   Oddly enough, when Saunders crosses the border from Austria to Switzerland, the appearance of a Mercedes station-wagon is almost prophetic. To Grimsmo's surprise, his hunks of metal for machining Norseman parts at Kern Microtechnik make it through security! Factories and Machine Shops, BIG AND SMALL. This trip isn't only about visiting the biggest names in the industry, it's also about seeing what's cookin' in the impressive home shops of Stefan Gotteswinter and TACrafted with Theo Assfalg. After visiting 3DTechDraw in Amsterdam with Laurens, Saunders heads to Hermle in Stuttgart, Germany. Meanwhile, in Moutier, Switzerland, the birthplace of Swiss lathes, Marv and Grimsmo meet with Michael Hauser, CEO for an insiders view of Tornos; a company that holds customer support in high regard. They still make replacement parts for lathes that are over 100 years old! Now THAT's customer service! MIND BLOWN Heidenhain: More than a great control for your machine. We take for granted that we live in a world where measurements are standardized. Back then, these guys were the ones making copies of THE meter. In addition to manufacturing every single linear scale, Heidenhain might just be the definition of climate control. Grimsmo and Marv machine a Norseman handle AND do some blade surfacing at Kern Microtechnik. 14+ hours later, it's time for the Johns to finally meet up. A late night with burgers, beers, and friends still reeling from the days' excitement turns into slap happy machinists making CAM jokes before getting some shut-eye. KERN - The Best in the Land The guys share their experiences at the uncontested BEST micro precision machine tool company in the world. Hitting sub-micron tolerances ADED means special care must be taken to thermally stabilize the machine tool. When cutting tools MUST be hand loaded because the resistance from the ATC motion could break the flutes...holy moly. Finally, for Marv and Grimsmo, their trip ends with scenic views and gnarly ski slopes. On the last run, Marv challenges Grimsmo to a race. Saunders moves onto the NTMA leg of his trip with Big Kaiser America, where he will soon visit Big Kaiser, Blaser, and Speroni. Trips abroad certainly broaden the mind and bring a fresh new perspective and energy that is sometimes lost in the day-to-day minutiae. The more you know, the better 'cause the times they are A-changin'.
