It's Thursday, August 1st, A.D. 2024. This is The World View in 5 Minutes written by Jonathan Clark and heard at www.TheWorldView.com. Filling in for Adam McManus, I'm Ean Leppin. Chinese Christian Reunites with Family A Christian activist from China finally reunited with his family in the US this week. 71-year-old Zhu Yufu had spent sixteen years in prison for defending freedom in China. After his release, he was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer. The US approved his application for urgent medical treatment and to reunite with his family. Yufu issued a statement through ChinaAid: “Thanks to the Lord's grace and the efforts of all of you, I had the chance to be reunited with my family . . . I pray constantly, believing that the Lord's grace is sufficient and that it will not be Satan or the forces of evil that will dominate everything on earth.” In 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Apostle Paul wrote, “[The Lord] said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” Christian U.K. Teacher Banned for “Misgendering” Students Last week, a High Court judge in the U.K. ruled a Christian teacher should be banned from his profession for allegedly “misgendering” students. Joshua Sutcliffe did not use students' preferred pronouns based on his Christian beliefs. His decision did not break the law. However, the judge ruled Sutcliffe's religious beliefs did not justify his actions. Sutcliffe told GB News he plans to appeal and that this is an important case for the U.K SUTCLIFF: "This I believe is a really important case for our nation because obviously I have quite strong Christian convictions, but this is probably a more universal belief that we shouldn't be leading young people down this dangerous path, and that is what the principle argument in the court was." Another Court Blocks Biden Admin's LGBT Agenda Under the Biden administration, the US Department of Education has tried to extend civil rights protections to people living sexually perverted lifestyles. The new rule would protect so-called “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” in schools. Many states have sued the administration over the new rule. In the latest ruling, a US District Judge issued a preliminary injunction against the administration. It applies in Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The new rule is now blocked in 21 states. California's Attack on Abortion Pill Reversal Services A pregnancy center is fighting California's attacks on Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) services. California Democrat Attorney General Rob Bonta is trying to end APR services and silence pro-life groups. Culture of Life Family Services is now suing Bonta with the help of the Thomas More Society. Peter Breen with the legal group said, “With all of the crime and corruption in California, it is tragic . . . that AG Bonta . . . is using his vast resources to target pregnancy centers and strip women of . . . their right to continue with a pregnancy through the safe and effective Abortion Pill Reversal process.” Americans' Changing Beliefs on Moral Issues Gallup released their latest data on Americans' moral beliefs. Most people in the U.S. still say adultery, suicide, and polygamy are morally wrong. Most Americans now say birth control, in-vitro fertilization, and having a baby outside marriage is morally acceptable. However, Americans are more divided on issues like abortion, doctor-assisted suicide, and “changing one's gender.” Since the early 2000s, support for abortion is up 12 percent, support for divorce is up 19 percent, support for having a baby outside marriage is up 23 percent, and support for sexually perverted lifestyles is up 24 percent. Brazilian Athletes Praise God at the Olympics And finally, Brazilian athletes are winning medals and praising God at the Summer Olympics. 16-year-old Rayssa Leal won bronze in the women's street skateboarding final. Despite Olympic rules against religious demonstrations, she used sign language in front of the cameras to say, “Jesus is the way, the truth and the life,” quoting John 14:6. Meanwhile, Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina beat an Olympic record after riding a perfect 16-foot wave. Knowing his accomplishment, he went airborne at the end of the wave. An iconic photo of the moment shows Medina floating midair with his finger pointed upward. The three-time world champion posted it and quoted Philippians 4:13 which says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Close And that's The World View in 5 Minutes on this Thursday, August 1st, in the year of our Lord 2024. How do we break patterns? Outcome, outcome, outcomeRemember, that in the NLP model, all experience has structure. When you explore and change the structure, your experience changes, the perception, meaning, and feeling. NLP creates specific changes rather than random, trial-and-error changes. It changes things by adding resources, not taking away anything. Our experience and patterns are organized on a hierarchy of neurology from Environment, Behavior, Capability, Belief/Value, Identity, and Spiritual. Each level organizes the level underneath it. Changes at a higher level will change something underneath it but not necessarily the other way around. It is important to understand what logical level a change needs to take place for the change to be effective and long-lasting. The neuro-levels are important because they are part of a unified field that includes yourself, others' observer positions, and past present, and future. Patterns can be caused at a behavioral level, cap, belief, or identity. Interestingly, people are aware of the patterns they run (or not) but not aware of what causes them. Changing the cause at the root of the problem will create lasting change and have the change in all three primary channels. 6-step reframing behaviors, internal dialog, nail-biting, etc can be changed with parts negotiation unless it is on a higher logical level. the lower the level, the more immediate the results, and the higher, the longer the integration because it is unconscious. Anchoring can also change our states, and give us choices, and as a result, a pattern can change. If it works for a while and then comes back, you probably need a change at a higher logical level. How do we change our beliefs? Be aware that most people cannot do their own belief work because beliefs are submerged in our unconscious mind. It takes someone excellent at recognizing patterns, calibration, and asking questions to discover limiting beliefs. The first step is knowing what belief to change. This is challenging since beliefs run in packs and are slippery, according to Robert Dilts. They are mostly unconscious, in systems with a core belief that is young and hidden. One approach is to look at the behavior and ask, what do I believe to do this? What do I see hear and feel? What happens just before I start the behavior? Understand what it does for us, the positive intent and the goal of the intention, what are counterexamples to the belief, and finally, what behavior I want to do and what would I have to believe to do that behavior. And then, of course, belief statements are simple, they are beliefs, not behaviors, and have no ecological downsides. How do we communicate most effectively? Simply by speaking to another's understanding. We communicate the way we understand words. So people who are like us, understand us and people not like us don't. It limits the number of people we can connect with and promotes a lot of misunderstanding and miscommunication. The more we are like a person the more the understanding. The skills to engage for excellence in communication: perceptual positions, calibration, sensory awareness, rapport (m and p) and to influence, and lead. Ask questions (curiosity), state management, and control over your own internal dialogue. Support the Show.

Welcome back to OAWJ, today is a value PACKED episode with Business Mindset Hypotherapist & Kinesiologist, Jennifer Mccormack. We dive into: Be you and you will automatically use your internal filter to do that magic for you. You do not need to become something else in order to achieve the things that you want. It's not about becoming anything but becoming a vibrational match for the core essence of who you are. You can be do or have absolutely anything because you are a magnetic energy that attracts like energy. Our mind does not know the difference between reality and imagination. So the moment you bring in those thoughts and feelings into your mind, your body thinks it's happening in the now. Little ways you can up-level your life. We don't understand sometimes at the level that we're at how accessible the next level is. When we put things on a pedestal your resistance towards that thing amplifies. You've got to move your beliefs with inflations and above. The moment you start to address the problem is the moment you see permanent change. Just change your mind and do something differently. Changing your beliefs and assumptions can lead to different results in your life. - Dan Cockerell During our time in California, my wife Valerie and I took a 20-mile hike. I relished the challenge, but as the miles accumulated, so did the discomfort. My body protested, my mind amplified the pain, and I found myself questioning why I had put myself in this situation. However, a phrase started to resonate with me: pain is temporary. Over and over, I repeated it. The more I said it I noticed that my mindset began to shift. Each step became less a hardship and more a triumph. I stopped focusing on the immediate discomfort and started enjoying the scenery, the weather, the company. I realized that just changing my thoughts had a profound effect on my experience. This has since become a guiding principle for me. Pain is temporary. However, the lessons you learn and the experiences you have are permanent. Shifting your mindset isn't easy and it certainly does not happen overnight. The the learning, the growth, the joy that come from the temporary discomfort make it worth it. Do not dismiss the power of positive mindset and the profound impact it can have on our experiences. Many time we limit our own personal growth by holding on to existing beliefs and assumptions. Emergencies and challenges aren't always expected, but it is smart to have a plan to guide you through them. This is the same for our personal and professional life. Be proactive when planning the direction you want your business to go and be prepared to adapt to new opportunities. Make sure to listen to this conversation between Jody and I, especially if you are navigating a bit of discomfort in life. We talk about the power of mindset and beliefs and the ways they can help you overcome challenges and create new opportunities. He had a considerable influence on mathematics, logic, set theory, linguistics, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, computer science and various areas of analytic philosophy, especially philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of language, epistemology, and metaphysics. He was one of the early 20th century's most prominent logicians, and a founder of analytic philosophy, along with his predecessor Gottlob Frege, his friend and colleague G. E. Moore and his student and protégé Ludwig Wittgenstein. Russell with Moore led the British "revolt against idealism". Together with his former teacher A. N. Whitehead, Russell wrote Principia Mathematica, a milestone in the development of classical logic, and a major attempt to reduce the whole of mathematics to logic. Russell's article "On Denoting" has been considered a "paradigm of philosophy". Russell was a pacifist who championed anti-imperialism and chaired the India League. He went to prison for his pacifism during World War I, but also saw the war against Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany as a necessary "lesser of two evils". In the wake of World War II, he welcomed American global hegemony in favour of either Soviet hegemony or no (or ineffective) world leadership, even if it were to come at the cost of using their nuclear weapons. He would later criticise Stalinist totalitarianism, condemn the United States' involvement in the Vietnam War and become an outspoken proponent of nuclear disarmament. In 1950, Russell was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature "in recognition of his varied and significant writings in which he champions humanitarian ideals and freedom of thought". He was also the recipient of the De Morgan Medal (1932), Sylvester Medal (1934), Kalinga Prize (1957), and Jerusalem Prize (1963). Have you been struggling with the idea of being on the wrong path? It's something that's very natural to wonder about, and easy to go down a rabbit hole of second-guessing our choices. In this episode, I share with you how I evaluate the choices I have made and the very real process of uncovering new revelations that change old beliefs I may have had about myself, leading to the realization my old choices may no longer be in alignment. If you've been finding yourself in a similar situation, I want you to find comfort in knowing you are not alone and that nothing is set in stone, and everything can still be changed even when it seems impossible. I'm going to get into: [1:45] Am I on the wrong path? [2:06] Making the most aligned choice [3:45] What are we basing our choices on? [7:35] So what do you do with this awareness you've cultivated? [8:21] Making choices from fear, lack, and feeling selfish about our choices. [12:54] Finally feeling acceptance and then asking for signs. Life after abuse can feel like you're just spinning your wheels. You struggle with the same things. The same thoughts. The same downward spirals. Over and over and over. Flying Free is all about breaking out of harmful cycles, in and after abusive relationships. If you want to see this in action, Amie is a poster child for life beyond abuse: healing, thriving, and constantly growing. Our discussion was so powerful, her story so incredible, the amazing freedom she's experienced so inspiring, that we talked for two hours. There was no way I was going to cut a single minute from the recording, so I broke it into three episodes. This series catalogs her thought transformations, from old to new, across the most important aspects of her life, the parts that were hit the hardest by spiritual and emotional abuse. So if you're feeling stuck, defeated, or just plain frustrated as heck in your recovery process, this is one of the greatest freebies you'll come across. If you just started following along, check out Part 1 and Part 2, then skip back here for the grand finale. Because the last thing survivors want is for the abuse they survived to torment them into the future…and these episodes are a line in the sand. In Part 3 of 3: Old Thought #1: Grief, sadness, anger, and anguish are too hard and can be sinful. I will avoid them. New Thought #1: There are no good or bad emotions. I will experience them in full without getting trapped. 3 more old thoughts and 3 more powerful new thoughts Why “dirty” pain is so overwhelming, but “clean” pain is manageable (and helpful!) What exiles, firefighters, and parents have to do with your brain after trauma Why regulating before responding is so important How to have curiosity instead of judgment (which greatly increases your chance of breaking negative thought patterns) The critical importance of community in changing your thoughts and results The FREE PDF DOWNLOAD for old thoughts vs. new thoughts Read or download the transcript hereIf you are a Christian woman who thinks you may be in an emotionally destructive marriage, learn more at https://flyingfreenow.comI'll send you (free!) the first chapter of my book, Is It Me? Today we're sharing a few things that we used to believe that simply aren't true! We start off today's episode with lighthearted examples of things our parents used to tell us as kids like you'll get pulled over for turning on the light in the car when you're driving at night and eating a watermelon seed will make one grow in your stomach. Then we shift gears to financial beliefs that we used to have about investing, credit cards, and careers. Support the show
“I've got to share this with as many people as possible.” That's what I decided when Amie showed me her thought work from Flying Higher. What the heck is “thought work”? Well, I'll answer your question with a question. How often do you have the same thoughts? You know, the crappy ones. “Nothing will ever change. If I could just get him to see how much he's hurting me. I have to wait for God to move; I can't do anything about this. I need someone to come rescue me. I'm trapped. I'll never heal.” What if you had new beliefs that led to new emotions and new actions and an ENTIRE NEW LIFE? I'm not blowing smoke up your tailpipe. The truth is: You could have all your problems solved right now, and you'd still be stuck if your thoughts didn't change too. And they don't on their own.Our beliefs keep us in abuse. It's only our beliefs that can free us. Thought work is the simple way to break free. Want some clear evidence? I recorded three episodes' worth—Amie's story. It's incredible, and one of many in the Sisterhood. In Part 2 of 3: Old Thought: I help God change people with my words/actions. Old Thought: Conversations should lead to a resolution and common ground. Old Thought: If you love me, you'll be there for me. Old Thought: Giving sex to make my husband happy is right and good. Old Thought: When people are angry with me, I HAVE to make it right. 5 of Amie's New Thoughts (these were AMAZING; why do you think I couldn't stop recording for two hours?) Bonus New Thought #1: Pushing people to change is abusive in its own way. Bonus New Thought #2: We can't expect people to respect our boundaries. Bonus New Thought #3: Christian culture is codependent. “I would keep the peace or create peace at any cost. And a lot of the time, the cost was myself.”Amie searched for love her entire life. But all she found were unsafe people. And all she learned was that love demanded everything and gave nothing but pain in return. Despite this, Amie is a poster child for what's possible after a life of abuse. She's flourished in Flying Free and Flying Higher, moving from a caterpillar perspective to a butterfly perspective, from crawling to flying. How? It all comes down to old thoughts versus new thoughts. Just like a caterpillar, Amie wove a cocoon of new thoughts to replace the ones that had led her into harm and kept her from living beyond her trauma. What she learned is so powerful, so practical, and so encouraging, we talked for 2 hours. I broke our discussion into a 3-part podcast series, diving into exactly what Amie did and providing listeners the simple, downloadable resource she used to fly free. Part 1 of this 3-part therapy session includes: Why Amie was terrified that Flying Free would not be a safe place for her How chameleons and trauma are related The FREE PDF DOWNLOAD for old thoughts vs. new thoughts (see below) Why the church's definition of “community” is usually just icky enmeshment 2 old thoughts and 2 new thoughts from Amie's worksheet (these are truth anvils, I tell you!) How Amie was robbing her ex-husband of his chrysalis when she thought she was loving him (super easy to do with our kids too) Read or download the transcript hereIf you are a Christian woman who thinks you may be in an emotionally destructive marriage, learn more at https://flyingfreenow.comI'll send you (free!) the first chapter of my book, Is It Me? I have been inspired recently by a strategy of personal growth by my wife Wendy. When she believes a message or audio book is something God has for her, she will listen to it over and over again until it gets in her spirit deeply. With that in mind, I want to revisit two of my favorite and my powerful teachings. This podcast will release revelation and four beliefs that are truly life-changing.
