Send us a textWe remember loving this Creature Feature from 1999 with an all-star cast and perfectly balanced CGI & Practical Effects. But it has been a decade or more. Starring Bridget Fonda, Bill Pullman, and Oliver Platt with effects by the great Stan Winston we have high hopes that this 90s B-Movie still gets an A for Awesome. We're also wondering if the Betty White scenes are still freaking hilarious? Here's hoping.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?
There are shark movies and there are shark movies. Ninja vs Shark (Japan, 2023) is definitely the former - a bonkers Power Rangers-y shark flick that gets derailed by tone deaf plotlines and an irredeemable protagonist. Also, two folk horror flicks drop this week: the somber Starve Acre (United Kingdom, 2024) on Shudder and the part-Japanese, part-found footage Bloat (France, United States & Japan, 2025) on VOD and limited theaters.

The crew watch 1962's "Burn Witch Burn" ( Also known as "Night of the Eagle" ) when Mary is back for a visit to Deep Dark Lounge Midwest. The first attempt at recording was a disaster - cocktails MAY have been responsible. The second recording (after Mary had returned to Deep Dark Lounge East) was MUCH better.Enjoy!
How do you judge a monster movie? If it's all about the practical effects, then The Tank (New Zealand, 2023) should slither into your eyeballs. If you want a creature feature with a sense of humor, though, head into the outback with Carnifex (Australia, 2022). Both are on Tubi. Also, a record-breaking Thai flick inspired by The Evil Dead hits Netflix and a vampire movie with the most on-the-nose title in history hits Shudder.

One of our listeners suggested that the crew watch 1958's "The Screaming Skull", and we aim to please. This movie is much maligned - and perhaps rightfully so - but we managed to find a lot to talk about and not all of it was negative. What a curious surprise . . . Also we loved the cheeky warning at the beginning, ""The Screaming Skull is a motion picture that reaches its climax in shocking horror. Its impact is so terrifying it May have an unforeseen effect: it May kill you. Therefore, its producers feel they must assure free burial service to anyone who dies of fright while seeing The Screaming Skull."“Screaming Mai Tai” cocktail2 oz Pineapple Rum 1 oz Blue Curaçao 1/2 oz Lime Juice1/2 oz Cinnamon simple syrupMix in cocktail shaker with icePour over crushed iceGarnish with orange slice in a cup of your choiceEnjoy!Visit our website:http://www.monstermoviehappyhour.com/Chat with us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/monstersndri...Our Bluesky:https://bsky.app/profile/monstersndrinks.bsky.socialOur Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/monstersndrinksOur Twitter:https://twitter.com/monstersndrinksMusic created by Kevin MacLeod. You can hear more of his work at:https://incompetech.com/wordpress/author/kevin/

Welcome to "Cult Classics with Chris," the podcast within "Classic American Movies" where I will interview cult filmmakers. This time I'm talking with William Malone. There is a 100% chance you've seen his work: he designed masks (creating the Michael Myers' mask), he's made many fun horror films for over 40 years including Tales From the Crypt episodes, movies and more!I've been a big fan of Malone's since I first saw his 1999 remake of “House on Haunted Hill” (as discussed in Miriam and my's episode) and finally getting a chance to sit down and talk with him was a lot of fun. From start to finish, he truly was inspiring to talk to and offered a lot of knowledge on films as well as cracking a lot of jokes. A wonderful class act of a man. Please check out his YouTube channel, Undertaking Cinema where William discusses all things cinema! If you're not doing so already, please like and follow Classic American Movies on Instagram and Facebook. I do free movie giveaways, mini movie reviews and more! Also, I decided to write and direct my first slasher flick, called "Bishop's Day"! Check out the Instagram page for updates.
