Colin Ford starred in the Netflix original series “Daybreak” debuting in 2019 with Matthew Broderick. Prior to “Daybreak,” he spent three years on the CBS series “Under the Dome,” but Ford may be most well known when he starred as Matt Damon's son in the 2011 feature film “We Brought a Zoo.” Ford broke into film at the tender age of 5 where he played Clinton Jr. in “Sweet Home Alabama” starring Reese Witherspoon.    Along with acting, Ford has been featured in magazines such as “Teen Vogue,” “W Magazine,” “Bello,” “Man about Town,” and “Schon”  through modeling. As a young boy, he did a photo shoot for “W Magazine” with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie portraying their son. Perhaps one of Ford's most recognizable television role was his portrayal of young Sam Winchester in the popular CW series “Supernatural.” Ford has voiced countless radio and tv commercials but is best known for his role as “Jake” in the Disney Junior show, “Jake and the Neverland Pirates.” Other films credited to Ford include a movie adaptation of the bestselling book “Every Day,” “Extracurricular Activities,” “The War with Grandpa” with Robert De Niro, and “Captain Marvel.”    Coming to Netflix in 2022, Ford will play “Chazz” in Ryan Murphy's upcoming crime drama “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” Future film projects include “LA Bound” and “The Hill” alongside Dennis Quaid.

Episode 20 is here! How to overcome the pressures of working overtime! It's the 20th episode!! I can't believe it! I just want to thank you for listening - I do not take it lightly at all. Spending 30-45 minutes with this podcast shows me that you all want to be the best women you can be just like I do and that I'm not alone out here in these mom streets. Today's episode is for all of the working moms - most of us have been in a position where we think we have to do it all - especially at work so that we can get that promotion, get that award or recognition, prove our worth in the workplace. As moms, you may have a sense that you are not viewed the same as childless or single employees, because you have home obligations - so to compensate, your work extra hours and stay late. Or come in early, or answer emails before bed. Whatever you do, you are not alone. But, you don't have to do this. There are ways to prioritize, say no!, get your work done, and go home happier and not so exhausted from living a life of all work and no play. Ashley Sutton is my guest, she is the author of Overtime is SO Over, Leave the Office and Get Your Life Back. She gives her personal experiences and research to share how to overcome those ideas of needing to always be available for your employer and always putting in the most time. Those thoughts are a battle and she gives some easy wins on how to stop putting yourself in this position. [bctt tweet="It's not about saying no, it's about saying not right now and prioritizing what you need to get done - Ashley Sutton" username="Mommifaceted"] [bctt tweet="It's all about high performance and high achievement, but that doesn't equate to working crazy hours - Ashley Sutton" username="Mommifaceted"]   Ashley's Bio Ashley Sutton began her career in marketing with Fortune 500 beauty company Avon Products, where she built her knowledge in product development, on the North America color cosmetics brand team. Ashley’s eagerness to learn about international business led her to her next role with Mattel (Fisher-Price). Ashley managed the toy development for multiple entertainment preschool brands, such as Mickey Mouse, Thomas the Train, Octonauts, Jake and the Never Land Pirates, among others, across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. As Ashley’s desire to round out her marketing skills continued, she leapt into consumer and digital marketing with Entertainment One’s family division, where her key responsibilities are to secure digital promotions, oversee social media and blogger outreach, create digital content and assets, and work to develop brand marketing initiatives for preschool licensed brands.   Throughout her career journey, she learned a lot about her strengths and opportunities to grow, and better prioritize her life. Working crazy long hours, with very little ROI in your personal life, could either drive you insane, or light a fire to make some serious change. Ashley chose the latter. She was burning the midnight oil, and started to see her health and energy decline. She surveyed friends and colleagues, and found that many of them were all, in some way, shape, or form driving themselves into destruction by working unfathomable hours. She channeled these stories into her newly published book, Overtime Is SO Over. As an avid volunteer, Ashley believes in the power of giving back. She is a mentor and has acted as a national judge for the NAACP Act-So organization, where she helps high school students engage in entrepreneurship, STEM, and the arts.   In her spare time, Ashley loves music, travel; and of course, attempting to make her meals look “just like the picture,” when she’s in the kitchen!   Follow Ashley Sutton! Before we visit Mickey and his friends, here are five fast facts about Disney Junior - Live on Stage! 1.  Disney Junior - Live on Stage! opened at Disney California Adventure on April 11, 2003 under the name Playhouse Disney Live.  The show replaced the ABC Soap Opera Bistro, a restaurant that featured sets from famous ABC Soap Operas. 2.   The original version of the show that opened in 2003 was the same as the Playhouse Disney Live show that was running at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.  It featured characters from Bear In The Big Blue House, Rolie Polie Olie, Stanley and The Book of Pooh. 3. Over the years, the show has featured characters from other Playhouse Disney/Disney Junior shows including Jojo’s Circus, Handy Manny and Little Einsteins.  The current iteration of the show that we’ll hear today features Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and Jake and the Never Land Pirates. 4.  A team of six puppeteers are cast for each show and they manipulate over twenty different puppets of the various characters who interact with the show’s human host and the audience. 5. All the characters in the show are voiced by their original voice actors including Corey Burton doing his incredible version of Hans Conried’s Captain Hook. Now it’s time to visit the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at Disney Junior - Live on Stage!  Stay tuned afterwards as I give my thoughts on the show as you’ll be experiencing it with me as I watch for the very first time.  Also, this is a binaural recording, so if you have headphones put them on now as we enjoy Disney California Adventure’s Disney Junior - Live on Stage! In this episode, voice actor and musician Laura Dickinson brings us insight into how she’s made it as a voice actor for Disney Animation and how good old fashioned hustle can really take you the distance. Laura makes her living as a full-time musician, contracting for Disney providing singing voices for animated characters on Phineas & Ferb, Jake & the Neverland Pirates, and Sofia the First. Essentially, “your nine-year old daughter’s favorite singer.” You’ve also heard her voice on Pitch Perfect, Modern Family, and Supernatural. When she’s not bringing her character acting talent, she’s also a frequent live performer fronting her own 17 piece big band and opening for names like Tony Bennett and Lyle Lovett. She’s also recently released her debut album, One for My Baby – To Frank Sinatra With Love, which is a beautifully done and wonderfully arranged homage to Ol’ Blue Eyes.   Show Sponsors: ManageGigs: ManageGigs helps you keep track of all of your gigs online, without having to resort to spreadsheets.  Click here to check them out and sign up for your free seven day trial!   Audible: For Performercast Listeners, Audible is offering a free audiobook download and a free 30-day trial to give you the opportunity to check out their service.  Click here to check it out!     Interview with Laura Dickinson: Success Mantra Happy to be here, easy to work with.     Voice Acting • Talks about how she got involved working with Disney animation and voice acting. • What it’s like collaborating with musicians and producers and being able to anticipate needs, etc. • If you can find someone you can count on and work easy with, you’ll work with them forever. • Challenges of singing in the voice of a fictional, cartoon character. • Always tries to ask a lot of smart questions. • Adaptability and flexibility are her biggest takeaways from working with Disney. • Working on people’s “babies.” Creative pieces that their creators care about.     Failure Moment Talks about how early in her career, not being as socially adept as she is now, she started talking trash about the show director and the casting director just as they walked in.     Favorite Success Being a part of Phinneas & Ferb which opened up a lot of doors for her.     Other Topics Covered • Working with other musicians who have different schedules • Filling in for other musicians (it’s kind of like an understudy kind of thing) • How she got her real education performing for Disney in their theme parks. • Talks about how she “moved up the ranks” for Disney and started performing. • Find what you really love doing and find a way to make a living at it. • Always being the best representation if yourself.     Exclusive Content for Patreon Supporters The uncut version of this interview is available to Patreon Supporters and includes about 10 minutes of additional content.  Please consider supporting me on Patreon.      In the Patreon-exclusive content you'll find: • Talks about first band she had a part in and how she decided she wanted to become a professional performer. • Talks about some of the things she did to start drumming up business in performing full time. • You have to be ready to be told “no” all the time. Brandon is joined by Rory Willis, producer of All Around the Dinner Table's "From the Mouths of Shepherds" LP (as well as other great releases from bands like Buffalo Rodeo and Anthologies) and drummer for great bands like Alone (on tour this November) and Bass Invaders.Andy leaves us hanging on this one, so we brought in Derek Price from Sempervivi, joining us from a hotel in Louisville, KY. Despite a very real struggle with ragweed allergies and an inconsistent "wiffy" connection, we manage to put another fun episode on the books. We talk about the usual. You know, stuff like recording and performing, why YouTube's live stream service sucks, why WiFi sucks, why technology is awesome, why technology sucks, etc... We also learn a little bit about Rory and his background in the Bowling Green music scene, why he loves self-help books, his idea to replace our Patreon support with a candy bar fundraiser, and more.Brandon also has a continuity issue with Jake and the Neverland Pirates. TAG Interview -- Kelly Ward

Kelly Ward knows better than many the need to reinvent yourself ... TAG Interview with Kelly WardFind all TAG Interviews on the TAG website at this link Mr. Ward, you see, was a professional actor at a young age. He worked on stage, he worked in television, he worked in movies. And he was successful at it. But then he had the bad luck to grow older, and miss out on roles he earlier snagged with regularity. He relates that a casting director told him, "We don't need to hire you for the teenager's part. We can just hire a real teenager.") So Kelly changed the direction of his career arc. In the mid-80s he was collaborating on scripts with animation veteran Jeff Segal, and soon after he was hired as an assistant story editor on Hanna-Barbera';s Go Bots. For awhile, he continued acting. But the animation work was steadier. In the span of three decades he has written numerous script, served as a story editor, produced, and directed voice actors. (He's also done some voice acting himself.) Today Kelly is directing voice talen on Jake and the Neverland Pirates, also collaborating with animation veterans Cliff MacGillivray and Phil Mendez on The Note Hunter: The Case of the Haunted Swamp. Why is Kelly now writing books? After so many years in animation. It's that "constantly reinventing yourself" thing.
