During the 30 hours she spent in the coma, she had a profound near-death-experience where she was told the purpose of her life. In this episode, André sits down with her for an in depth explanation of what went on and the insights she gained from the experience. They discuss the root of all disease (and how we can heal ourselves with this knowledge), Anita's perception of God and our true essence, reincarnation and much more. Anita worked in the corporate world for many years before being diagnosed with cancer in April 2002. Her fascinating and moving near-death experience (NDE) in early 2006 tremendously changed her perspective on life, and her work is now ingrained with the depths and insights she gained while in the other realm. She, and her miraculous story, were discovered by Dr Wayne Dyer who fostered her entrance into the world of public speaking, and urged her to write a book about her experience. And following his lead, Anita wrote her first book, Dying to be Me, and it reached the New York Times Best Seller list. Since then her two other books "What if this is Heaven" and "Sensitive is the New Strong" have reached significant acclaim. As a result of her NDE, Anita is often invited to speak at conferences and events around the globe to share her insights. From her Social Media channels to her live workshops, Anita demonstrates that she is the embodiment of the truth that we all have the inner power and wisdom to overcome even the most adverse situations. By talking about alcohol and sobriety in different ways, Jen is helping to normalize these conversations and allowing us to see things in a new light. She's also into sauna- which has become a real theme lately! Check out Sauna Times and listen to our interview with Glenn! From her site-Jen Gilhoi, event experience strategist and founder of Sparktrack, is fascinated with the art of gathering. She especially loves lingering behind and reliving moments others have long since moved on from. In 2014, she moved on from active addiction and began a sober lifestyle. And in recent years, supported by the community of women writers at ModernWell in Minneapolis (We interviewed Julie Burton, the founder), MN, she courageously began exploring memoir to work through past traumas. As an introvert and moderate empath (discovered upon completion of the quiz in Sensitive is the New Strong), she's discovered that the written word is her avenue to invite others into inquiry and shatter stigmas around addiction.     Shanta has an authentic talk with Best Selling Author Brandy Gilmore about her new book,Master Your Mind and Energy to Heal Your Body, Brandy shares the key to unlocking these results, providing readers with profound clarity and understanding of self-healing that is mind-expanding and even "fills in the gaps" so that mind-body healing can make logical sense!Brandy shares a bit of her story of how she came to a place where research was an absolute must. The time and effort she put to research on pain led to ground breaking discoveries.Several others are already raving about Brandy's work and have endorsed her book, including:** ~ Sharon Stone, Actor, Producer, and Artist “Having worked with Brandy, not only over the years but recently through COVID-19, I've been able to focus and release stored toxic energy and traumatic ideas. I highly recommend this work. It's centering, balancing, healing, and, moreover, self-empowering.”  **~Jack Canfield, Co-author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul ® series & The Success Principles™: “I highly recommend this book. It is empowering and has the ability to transform the way the world sees health and healing.”**~ Anita Moorjani, New York Times Best-selling Author of Dying to Be Me, What if This is Heaven and Sensitive is the New Strong. “Brandy Gillmore provides a valuable perspective on the ability to promote healing, along with a wide range of tools and techniques for enhancing physical recovery through the mind-body connection. A must-read.”  **While Brandy now has the look of a striking model—, I mentioned this to Brandy off air that she was stunning!!! tall, athletic, vibrant, and smiling—it's hard to imagine that she suffered from an accident that left her disabled and in excruciating pain. On many days, she was stuck in bed, not wanting to move or even breathe at times. She relied on a wheelchair, walker, and cane for mobility. When Brandy's doctors advised her that there was nothing they could do, she began desperately searching for a cure.At the time of her accident, Brandy's career involved troubleshooting network outages for one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, solving complex issues. So, when she was stuck with no solution, she began to "troubleshoot" her health in search of a cure. But that was only the beginning…After Brandy healed herself in 2010, she didn't want to just “talk” about her healing; she wanted to help others see proof that our minds really do possess the power to heal our bodies. In 2015, Brandy made that goal a reality. For the first time, she was able to demonstrate self-healing in real-time under thermal medical imaging. This remarkable feat captivated people's attention and propelled Brandy's work to new heights. Shortly after, she was invited to deliver a TEDx talk, marking a pivotal moment in her journey.Since then, Brandy has continued to demonstrate incredible healing results using medical thermal imaging. She also demonstrates these results on her award-winning podcast, Heal Yourself. Anita Moorjani's near-death experience will give you GOOSEBUMPS. We cover her world-renowned near-death experience (NDE) as covered in "Dying to Be Me," and "What if this is Heaven?" Anita's best-selling books. She had experienced what most people never have; she "crossed over," and came back to share what she learned. She brings us through the truths revealed from the other side about religion, cancer, healing, fear, and self-love. We also learn about the greatest lessons she learned from her mentor, Wayne Dyer. World-renowned author, Dr. Wayne Dyer has been instrumental in bringing Anita's story to public attention and wrote the foreword to her book. He subsequently invited her to appear on his TV special, "Wishes Fulfilled", which airs frequently on PBS. Doctors had given Anita Moorjani mere hours to live when she arrived at the hospital in a coma on the morning of February 2, 2006. Unable to move, and in a deep coma as the result of the cancer that had ravaged her body for nearly four years, Anita entered another dimension, where she experienced great clarity and understanding of her life and purpose here on earth, and was given a choice of whether to return to life or continue on into death. Anita chose to return to life when she realized that "heaven" is a state, not a place. This subsequently resulted in a remarkable and complete recovery of her health within days of her return. She is the embodiment of the truth that we all have the inner power and wisdom to overcome even life's most adverse situations, as she is the living proof of this possibility. ______________ PODCAST CHAPTERS 00:00:00 - Anita Moorjani Intro 00:04:21 - Power of Choice, Non-Traditional Healing & Medicine 00:08:18 - The Greater Illness of Fear over Cancer 00:12:07 - Traveling Between Realms 00:16:03 - A Message from the Other Side 00:19:54 - New Psychic Abilities & Synchronicities with Wayne Dyer 00:23:34 - Soul Contracts and Meeting the Right People 00:27:29 - The Power of Self 00:35:01 - A Generation of Empaths 00:38:50 - Elders and the Power of Co-Creation in the Age of Technology 00:46:51 - The Power of Manifestation 00:54:32 - Religion and the Afterlife 00:58:31 - Love for Oneself as a Facet of God 01:02:24 - The Struggles of Being in the Public Eye 01:06:07 - Staying Aligned Despite Criticism 01:09:53 - Creating Your Own Heaven on Earth 01:13:49 - Leaving Wisdom for Future Generations ______________ Guest: Anita Moorjani, author of Dying to Be Me. https://youtu.be/xJ15pEqaaA8 Weak is the new strong I've heard a few phrases with ‘is the new' inserted into them. It's used to say something is the new fashion or has replaced something else. Fish is the new meat, hair is the new hat, brown is the new black, in this office, jeans and a t-shirt are the new business suit. Age 50 is the new 40. Paul McCartney said that meat-free is the new rock n roll! I prefer the old! When I started working four days a week at school instead of five, I loved Thursdays. Thursday was the new Friday. Today we will learn that for the Christian, weak is the new strong. But first, let's lead into this from the context of some previous talks. Returning and rebuilding We have been looking at the first 6 chapters of Ezra which depict a returning remnant from Babylon rebuilding the altar and the temple under the governance of a man called Zerubbabel. We have seen that there has been opposition to the build. I have drawn parallels between the Old Testament temple and our New Testament understanding that our bodies, and the body of Christ are temples that are to be built up. Equally, there is an enemy at work to infiltrate, discourage and destroy the building of God's kingdom. Thankfully Jesus keeps his promises, and one of those promises states clearly that I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. Matthew 16:18. We are simply his co-labourers. Today I want us to focus in on one well-known line in the book of Zechariah which was delivered while the temple was still under construction: So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty. Zechariah 4:6 As the temple was being rebuilt, God had to remind his people that it was not by their own might, power or strength that the temple would be built, but by his Spirit. This might seem odd, as it was only a building project. Just bricks and mortar. But it was a spiritual building because it was God-ordained. And that meant that there would be an enemy. Opposition to the build The devil does not hinder the work of those who wish to build temples to their own gods, things in their own name, business built just to serve the money-god Mammon. But when we begin to build something that he has ordained, Satan is up in arms. Thus, when we build our own temple – our personal spiritual edification and growth, or the growth of the wider body – Satan will surely come against it. We know that there is a spiritual realm and that there are invisible forces at work. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesian 6:12 Precious Dust In the light of this we may feel pretty weak. And despite our victory in Christ and the fact that we are seated in heavenly places where God has put all things under his feet (Ephesians 1:22-23), in the natural we are pretty weak. After all, look where we came from: Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:7 The Hebrew for man is Adam but that word itself sounds like the word for ‘ground'. Man is but dust! Listen to these words from the Psalms: 13 As a father has compassion on his children,    so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;14 for he knows how we are formed,    he remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:13-14 These are interesting ideas because I have not so long ago preached on poor self-esteem and the importance of seeing ourselves as God sees us. But the truth is, without him we are nothing. We are weak, he is strong. But we don't have poor self-esteem. We may be weak but we are treasured, pursued, loved and cherished by a heroic heavenly father.

The Morning Hour of Prayer

What is Faith? The expression “just have faith, it will work out” is used by people to encourage and comfort someone facing serious problems or stressful situations. But just what is faith as described in the Bible, and does it really work? In the New Testament the English word faith is used to translate the Greek word pistis. The New Strong's Expanded Dictionary of Bible Words says, “Pistis is used of belief with the predominate idea of trust (or confidence) whether in God or in Christ, springing from faith in the same. ‘Faith' means trust, confidence, assurance, and belief” (p. 1315).The Bible also defines pistis in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”Faith is the substance or assurance of things we hope for, but have not yet received. Faith (confidence, belief, trust) is also our evidence of that which is not seen—the invisible spiritual things. Faith comes before a prayer is answered or before an individual has received what he or she has requested from God. If we have received what we asked for, then faith is not needed. What is faith? A New Testament example. An example of this definition is found in Matthew 9:27-30 where two blind men came to Jesus and asked Him to heal them. Jesus first asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” and their reply was, “Yes, Lord.” “Then He touched their eyes saying, ‘According to your faith let it be to you.' And their eyes were opened.”Their faith and assurance that Jesus could give them sight was the substance or reality they hoped for. It also gave them the evidence or trust that they would receive what they asked for. They believed; that is, they had faith in advance that it would be done.An Old Testament example of faithAnother example is that of Daniel's three friends who refused to bow down to King Nebuchadnezzar's image of gold. Those who refused to bow to the image were threatened with being thrown into a fiery pit alive. The three young Jewish men (Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego) who refused to bow to the image told King Nebuchadnezzar: “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up” (Daniel 3:17-18).They did not know in advance how God would deliver them from the fiery furnace, whether at that time by saving their physical lives or later in the resurrection. Their faith or trust was the substance of what they hoped for, and it was the evidence of that which was not yet seen or received.Their faith or trust was built on serving God and obeying His commandments. They believed God would deliver them because they obeyed His commandments and did not bow down to worship any others gods.Faith without works is deadThe apostle James, the half-brother of Jesus Christ, uses the example of Abraham, who had both faith and works because he believed God and he obeyed what God commanded him to do.“Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?” (James 2:21-22).Real faith is more than just believing in God alone. It includes acting on that faith in one's life by serving God and obeying His commandments. Some may argue that James' teaching that we should obey the commandments of God is teaching that we are saved by works. That is not the case. The apostle Paul makes this clear when he says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).Paul clearly understood and wrote that no one could earn salvation and that faith itself is a gift from God. Yet in the very next verse he went on to say that we are God's “workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (verse 10).Like James, Paul knew living faith would be accompanied by service and obedience to God and His laws. Paul wrote in Romans 3:31, “Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.”What is the difference between faith and belief? Many in Christianity today use the words faith and belief interchangeably. But is there a difference between these words in the Bible?Generally they are synonymous, and sometimes they are translated from the same Greek word. Actually, the only time the word belief appears in the New King James Version of the Bible, it is translated from pistis, the word for faith (2 Thessalonians 2:13).But the word believe can carry a different shade of meaning. The apostle James wrote in his epistle about what he called dead faith. Dead faith is when one believes in God, but does not obey His commandments.James wrote, “You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?” (James 2:19-20, emphasis added). Here believe is translated from a related Greek word, pisteuo. James contrasts simple belief with living faith. As Christians, we must strive for living faith—belief in God demonstrated by good works according to His laws and commandments. If we simply believe in Jesus Christ, believe that God exists and believe that He is the Creator God, we're on the same level of belief as the demons! But if our belief in these things inspires us to be obedient to God and changes the way we live our life, then we truly have faith and will be considered faithful if we consistently increase and grow in our relationship with God.God gives faith to those who seek itFaith is increased by drawing closer to God through prayer and the study of His Word, the Bible.Paul told the Philippians to “be anxious for nothing [don't worry], but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).The members of the Church of God in Philippi believed God's Word, and they obeyed His commandments. As they listened and followed Paul's instruction on giving their cares to God in believing prayer, their faith (belief and trust) was increased.Another way faith is increased is by reading or hearing examples of faith in the Bible publicly expounded. This is mentioned in Romans 10:17. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”Today, we have the complete Word of God in many different translations. The Bible is God's inspired Word to mankind. When we read the Bible, our faith (confidence and assurance) in God and Jesus Christ to answer our prayers and bring us through impossible situations increases. What is faith? To summarize, faith is trust, assurance and confidence in God and Jesus Christ. Living faith is not just believing that God exists. It is demonstrated by one's service and obedience to God.God will increase our faith if we fervently ask Him for it and seek to draw closer to Him in prayer and the reading of His Word. Please support The Podcast By Visiting The Amazon Affiliate Links:A Faith That Will Not Fail: 10 Practices to Build Up Your Faith When Your World Is Falling Apart:https://amzn.to/3JNvxTaHe Gets Us: Experiencing the confounding love, forgiveness, and relevance of Jesus:https://amzn.to/3FvgCuh

Do you make your choices out of fear? Does your culture or religion expect you to behave in a certain way? Do you always consider what others may think of you when making your decisions? If so, living a life of inauthenticity like this can lead to devastating illness and disease, according to our guest today, best-selling author and spiritual teacher Anita Moorjani, who learned this firsthand. Anita was born in Singapore of Indian parents and moved to Hong Kong at the age of two. She had been working in the corporate field for many years before being diagnosed with terminal cancer in April of 2002. In early 2006, while gravely ill in the hospital, doctors told her family she was just hours away from death. It was at this point that she “crossed over” into the Afterlife and experienced a realm of complete love and clarity. She then returned again into this world with a pristine understanding of her life and purpose on earth. This understanding subsequently led to a total recovery of her health. Doctors could not explain her rapid transition and called it a “medical miracle.” Today she discusses her fascinating and moving near-death experience which has led to her tremendously changing her perspective on life. She asks us to consider our feelings about the Afterlife and how, if we live in fear, it will color our physical life and how we choose to live. When your life is driven from a place of fear, you don't follow your heart. Anita invites us to instead, make choices from a place of love. What makes you passionate? What do you love to do? What if we made choices from that place instead? Anita reveals that she believes that the whole reason she had deadly cancer was because she made so many of her personal decisions based on fear. She didn't want to go against her culture or the religion in which she was raised. She didn't want to disappoint her family and friends. They expected her to commit to an arranged marriage and not have a career after she was married. She had never followed her own heart. She was living a life of inauthenticity and realized she was forsaking herself. She realized all of this during her journey into the Afterlife. Anita also discusses how to navigate through this life as a sensitive person. She realized she was extremely empathic, and her latest book is “Sensitive is the New Strong.” She will talk about this and related topics at the upcoming Conscious Life Expo in Los Angeles held Feb 10-13, 2023. Lisa Garr will be presenting at the Expo, too! Info: anitamoorjani.com and consciouslifeexpo.com.

In this episode, I sit down to talk with Stephanie Rose, Founder of Firefly Scout. Stephanie and I met about a year and a half ago through "The Artist's Way." She is an empath with a beautiful take on creativity and finding what lights you up. I know you'll enjoy this episode as we talk about her journey, why she does the work she does and some beautiful thoughts on creating rhythms and finding evidence for discovering our magic.  Here's a bit more about Stephanie:  "Feeling overwhelmed and waking up to the reality that her life wasn't fulfilling her sense of WHY, Stephanie went on a personal growth journey. As a working mom with two boys, a spouse and all the grown-up commitments that come with it, she started taking moments to put herself first and remember her true self. Through a lot of intentional exploration, she became aware that she is so much more than ‘just a mom' and was limiting herself when she let those basic life details define her. She's taken the process she went through and packaged it up to share with all of us in the Illumination Kit and created a collection of other easy-to-use tools to inspire us all to keep scouting out all the things that light us up." Described as being similar to U.S. style “strong-mayor” systems, it's an idea that has been discussed for years as a way to quickly push the mayor's authority and potentially expedite things like financial matters and appointments. But critics say Premier Doug Ford is once again messing with a municipal election right after it has gotten underway, just like he did in 2018 when he slashed Toronto city council from 47 to 25 seats. The “strong-mayor” plan will change this ongoing race and city governance in the future. This episode was produced by Brian Bradley, Sean Pattendon and Raju Mudhar.

I even did the ‘shopping around' for you and the links to all these products are in the show notes! And don't be surprised if you end up getting some of these for yourself!    Do you have a great gift idea? Or something YOU would love to receive this year? I'd love to hear it! Leave a comment and let me know. Key learnings:   Books make awesome gifts! The two I mentioned are Sensitive is the New Strong by Anita Moorjani and The Magic by Rhonda Byrne Journals make a great gift for highly sensitive souls. Writing down our feelings is very therapeutic. You can find amazing blank journals at bookstores or art supply stores. The journal I recommend is The Secret Gratitude Book by Rhonda Byrne. Highly sensitive folks are often sensitive to chemicals, which is why I LOVE beeswax candles! The one I recommend is by Big Dipper Waxworks. The tall sanctuary candles are my favorite. Oracle cards!!! I love oracle cards. They are a fun gift to give a friend. My favorite deck is the Mother Mary Oracle by Alana Fairchild. If your friend is not as metaphysical as you, a great deck is Julie Reisler's You-est You Morning Declaration cards! Sacred Art! Our environment is SO important. A wonderful way to create an uplifting environment is to hang sacred art on the walls. My wife Deepa Liu creates amazing healing portals and you can purchase museum quality reproductions to give as a gift. The ones I shared today are the White Healing Hands, the Green Healing Hands and Our Lady of Unconditional Love.     “Holiday gifts for your highly sensitive friends should support them, not overwhelm them. Woodland Hills Church Sermons Video Podcast

Jesus taught that those who are meek will actually inherit the earth. What does this counter-cultural teaching mean? How does it relate to being humble and the reality that people are forced to be humble by those in power? This sermon explores these questions and then provides practical direction to embracing Jesus' teaching.

This is the very first episode of the podcast and I am so happy that you came to listen! Today I speak on what this podcast is about, what you will learn and what to look forward to in the future. I hope you enjoy it: Show Notes: I misspoke, I did not get the definition of forgiveness from Webster's Dictionary, I got it from www.dictionary.com The Concordance I was referencing was: "The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible" by James Strong, LL.D., S.T.D. By the Way: A Bible concordance is an alphabetical listings of words and phrases found in the Holy Bible and shows where the terms occur throughout all books of Scripture. With cross-references for verses, concordances make it easy to understand the meaning of terms and the context in which those words are used (https://www.biblestudytools.com/concordances/).
