Ron, a Disney Legend who led global live entertainment for Disney, had seen my work with Lee and wanted help with legacy projects. That one introduction became a years-long friendship filled with stories, lessons, and laughter. Ron never did anything halfway. Whether we were watching videos of Disney parades or Super Bowl halftime shows, he narrated every decision with incredible detail and purpose. He'd talk through the music, the floats, the camera angles. Every element crafted for the perfect guest experience. It was storytelling, design, and leadership rolled into one magical conversation. We never recorded a podcast together, something I regret. But I do have clips that are small treasures of his voice and wisdom that I've held onto. In this episode, I share some of those pieces with you. You'll hear Ron reflect on budget discipline, the value of good teams, and his unwavering commitment to teaching the next generation. Ron Logan was a master of his craft and a generous mentor. He taught that creativity is problem-solving with heart and his legacy proves it. I miss him. But I'm honored to share his voice with you. In this edition of Paul Catalina's Top 5, 365 Sports takes a hard look at five major programs facing low expectations heading into the 2025 college football season. From Stanford's transfer portal exodus to Scott Frost's uncertain return at UCF, Paul breaks down why these teams are trending toward tough years. He dives into concerns about quarterback play at Mississippi State, roster questions at Kentucky and UCLA, and why even a promising young QB like Nico Iamaleava may not be enough to save the Bruins in Year 1 under DeShaun Foster. Whether it's program rebuilds, coaching shifts, or just bad vibes, these teams might want to hit pause on playoff talk in 2025. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
UH is a "power conference team" now and have bailed on us going forward (cowards!), but we've got one more Bayou Bucket to look forward to! So of course, Matt and Carter had to have our pals Sam and Bobby from the Scott & Holman Pawdcast to talk the crosstown Cougars. Can Willie Fritz get the offense functional this year [this is how you know they're not in the American anymore]? Is there anything sillier than bailing on the Bucket for a contrived, space-themed rivalry with UCF (no)? Plus, an extended intro, on The Conference Formerly Known as the AAC going for a rebrand, and preseason poll silliness. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We're back for the second part of our Big 12 preview episodes and taking a look at our top five and bottom three teams, highlighting the things we like and don't like about Arizona State, Kansas State, Iowa State, Baylor, Texas Tech, West Virginia, UCF, and Arizona. How much will the loss of Cam Skattebo hurt Arizona State's chances of another conference title? Is Avery Johnson ready to take the next step at Kansas State? Can Iowa State avoid the random disappearing acts? How much hype is too much hype for Baylor and Texas Tech? Which reboot is more interesting between West Virginia and UCF? And is Ty being overly skeptical of Arizona? As the dust settles on another whirlwind offseason, the Big 12 heads into 2025 poised for its most wide-open campaign in over a decade. With Texas and Oklahoma long gone—and the league's new blood from Cincinnati, UCF, BYU and Houston fully integrated—the balance of power is ready for a shake-up unlike anything we've seen since the conference's rebirth. Returning production is the name of the game, and no one checks that box better than Kansas State, which is always strong on the line of scrimmage, and this year has a veteran QB to roll with. Oklahoma State will look to bounce back after last year's disappointment, but we never expect Gundy to be down for long. Meanwhile, TCU and Texas Tech remain dangerous dark horses; Horned Frog fans are counting on a breakout season from their QB and receiving corps, and the Red Raiders' revamped team could become the league's premier CFP threat. Don't discount UCF, either—Scott Frost wasn't successful at Nebraska, but he's had success in Orlando before.Key matchups already stand out on a schedule littered with marquee dates and potential playoff resumes. Week 3's Kansas State at UCF could set the tone for who controls the top of the standings, while Oklahoma State's late-season showdown at Texas Tech promises to be an early Heisman watch party—each side boasting quarterbacks more than capable of putting up video-game numbers. In November, the true litmus test arrives when TCU hosts Kansas State in a primetime slot that could decide who enters the Big 12 title game with a chance at the school's first playoff berth. And speaking of the championship, don't sleep on the ever-underrated West Virginia squad; their blue-blood passion and high-octane spread rushing offense make them an ideal spoiler in the conference's final month. With media rights money pouring in and the playoff field at 12 teams, the stakes have never been higher for Big 12 programs looking to crash college football's biggest party. Which team will seize the chaos created by conference realignment and portal mayhem? Will a traditional power re-emerge to reclaim supremacy, or will a scrappy new contender write its own chapter in Big 12 lore? Strap in, because this season's mix of veteran savvy, portal fireworks and marquee games promises to deliver non-stop drama from Week 1 kickoff through crown-deciding kickoff in Arlington. Whether you're riding with the Wildcats, cheering on the Utes, or backing the up-and-coming Red Raiders, 2025 in the Big 12 is set to be a pure, unfiltered thrill ride—one that you won't want to miss a single snap of.

Frost, back at UCF, was asked about what he learned in his time at Nebraska and said, “Don't take the wrong job.” He also said, “I said I wouldn't leave UCF unless it was someplace you could win a national championship. I got tugged in a direction to try and help my alma mater and didn't really want to do it. It wasn't a good move. I'm lucky to get back to a place where I was a lot happier.” Well…we shouldn't be surprised to hear him say that, but maybe it's alarming it was said out loud Show Sponsored by SANDHILLS GLOBALOur Sponsors:* Check out Hims: https://hims.com/EARLYBREAKAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
