"But do these treatments work? Lawrence Mayer and Paul McHugh write 'Adolescents with gender identity disorder have poor anxiety tolerance. Seeking sex reassignment surgery is a defensive solution and a mechanism for control of anxiety. The thought of not having a solution for their distress increases their anxiety, thus making it very difficult to achieve a therapeutic alliance.' Basically, this means, according to their analysis, that giving adolescents a sex change doesn't actually treat their underlying anxieties or depression, rather it sweeps their emotional distress under the rug by providing a temporary bandage that makes them FEEL like they are in control." The #1 thing that's working for online store owners right now is this -- a simple brand video. Whaaaaa?!? Really? Not gonna lie, as a fan of direct response marketing, I'm very skeptical of anything that smacks of "branding" and "building awareness". Can't pay the bills with awareness...just sayin'. But the simple video strategy that my guest Susan Bradley from The Social Sales Girls shows us today is working like crazy for her Inner Circle members and I'm now convinced it can work for my e-commerce brand too - and yours. This interview gives you the exact strategy and real-life example of how to do it. I'M GOING TO DO IT - LIVE - in Susan's Bootcamp. Join me! It's only $15 and she'll teach us everything. 2023 has been a rollercoaster year for e-commerce businesses. Yes, there have been ups, but wow, have there ever been downs, too. And there were certainly times this year that left all of us scratching our heads and wondering, “What's working now?” In this episode, I'm going to do my best to answer that question along with one of my biz besties, Susan Bradley of the E-Commerce Roadmap podcast. We each share the top 3 things working right now in e-Commerce. The best news? You can implement any one of them in your business starting right now. It's important to understand you have way more control over your results than you think you do. Even if this year has been more downs than ups, there is always a way to come back and get what you want. My year had big jumps and dips. I took my eye off my business for personal and professional reasons and it showed. But there were three things I did to get sales back on track. And they all had to do with getting back to basics. I doubled up on LIVE selling. I sent 2-3 additional emails each week. I realized my email list wasn't growing and changed my opt-in. Go back to the basics, but be innovative within those basics. I started running page-like ads in the spring - remember, audience building never ends - after I realized my Facebook and Instagram audiences had grown stale. The result? Almost 7K new followers! What's working for Susan now? Susan recommends doubling down on what's working. Three things that have been working for her and her members: Building audiences using a brand video strategy. Susan Bradley's Brand Video Bootcamp Lead generation Email automations All the time you spend on these tried and true strategies allows you to maximize what you have. This pays off so much more than going off and finding new ways to accomplish the same goal. Take one or two of these ideas and implement them now. Then add more - get to where you've implemented all of them. They're working for a LOT of people right now! Join me and my biz bestie Susan Bradley for this episode to learn what's working in e-commerce now and how you can start implementing these strategies in your business today. As CPAs and financial planners, we are trained in the technical skills to help clients plan for transitions such as a business sale, retirement, divorce, or loss of a spouse. What we may not be as prepared for is the human experience that takes place over the years leading up to, during, and settling into a new way of life. The human side is messy and it's more challenging to see how it influences choices and decisions. In this episode of the PFP Section podcast, Lyle Benson, CPA/PFS, interviews life transition expert, Susan Bradley. They discuss: What is the skillset needed for the human side? How does the approach shift in a voluntary versus forced transition? Susan's thoughts on Lyle's transition predicament Why it's important to understand your own personal transition style Access resources related to this podcast: Note: If you're using a podcast app that does not hyperlink to the resources, visit https://pfplanning.libsyn.com/pfp to access show notes with direct links. Do you ever talk yourself out of running an event to get sales because you have a whole list of reasons why it won't work for you? “Susan Bradley, thank you for the amazing training” My Secret Sale kicked off at 7am this morning and I've already got €376 worth of sales. I know that doesn't sound like much to many of you but that's literally the most I've made in months, and my email list is teeny tiny. Doing this one event has grown my list from 17 to 40. Sile (pronounced Shelia) joined the Inner Circle a month ago, and she's just learning to build her audience and get traffic to her site. We all need sales, even when we're starting to grow, right? Sile grabbed a lesson from “Get Sales Now” in her classroom and implemented it fast using the scripts and templates that were provided. She got her event launched, grew her email list, and had an incredible boost in sales. You can see Sile's site here: https://www.thefragrantnest.ie/

“Social media is a place to find our people, gather them up, and then focus only on them.” - Susan Bradley. My biz bestie Susan Bradley of The Social Sales Girls joined me for today's episode to talk all things video view ads. Susan shared how using video and supplementing the organic reach you get with video with some ad dollars is the fastest, most effective way to grow a great big, warm audience of people without spending a lot of money. Facebook and Instagram ads don't work like they used to. Costs have gone up and the ROI has changed. The way you use Facebook and Instagram ads needs to change, too. Instead of running ads to directly sell, you need to run ads to collect people to retarget and nurture them. Then you'll sell to them. Videos, especially short videos, are how we reach “non-followers,” those people who would be interested in what we offer but who aren't yet part of our world. With video ads, you're taking what's already working for you on Instagram and Facebook and amplifying it by putting a few dollars a day of ad spend behind it. Join me for this episode as Susan shares so much valuable information about why and how to use video view ads to grow a warm audience and the two things you need to measure to determine if those ads are working. There has never been a better opportunity to find our people and Susan is here to show us how. Susan's Ads Made Easy Coaching Week starts August 21st! Sign up HERE. Lisa Duval is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked with children, teens, and families for over 30 years. She is also the mother of a "fiercely gender questioning" 18 year-old daughter, who has been male-identified for the last 5 years. She works with ROGD teens in an exploratory, empowering, feminist, and body positive way, affirming their beatiful, complicated selves but not simply their trans identities. We start with Lisa describing the old DSM multi-axial system, which was actually discarded in the current version, version 5. In Axis 2 we had cognitive and personality disorders, including borderline personality disorder. Listeners often ask me and Stella about potential links between borderline personality constellations and gender issues, so we were really excited to speak with Lisa about this. For starters, Lisa shares why borderline personality disorder should rarely ever be diagnosed in teens, though sometimes you might hear psychiatrists say a child has some “borderline traits”. We delve into how common, and almost quintessential, these traits are as a part of normal adolescent development. Lisa then explains a fascinating theory: not only are kids with these traits perhaps more vulnerable to ROGD, but also that aspects of gender identity ideology iatrogenically create borderline dynamics in dysphoric kids. In other words, gender ideology and a dogmatic affirmation approach could be causing and exacerbating these borderline traits. We also have a chance to explore the overlap between expressions of Autism and Borderline, and Lisa comments on a previous discussion we had about this with Dr Susan Bradley in EP 65. At the end of the episode, Lisa shares a really interesting way she that and her clients have been able to circumvent the issue of picking a new cross-sex name while exploring gender identity.
We were blessed to be reunited with Dr. Susan Bradley (the leading world expert on gender dysphoria and autism in children) to discuss her latest research, ROGD in girls and boys, transvestic fetishism AKA sexual cross-dressing, asexuality and transgender identity, underlying family dynamics, and what to look for in a potential therapist. // Please support this podcast: Get 5 FREE trial packs of Athletic Greens and FREE Vitamin D at athleticgreens.com/SOH (use code SOH) // Get The End of Gender at DrDebraSoh.com and @DrDebraSoh (FREE Audible audiobook) // Patreon: https://patreon.com/drdebrasoh // Susan's paper: https://www.mdpi.com/2673-4184/2/1/7 // Production and audio engineering by Dr. Debra Soh © 2022 Dr. Debra Soh

In today's episode, I am very humbled and delighted to interview someone whom I both admire and respect, Susan Bradley. Susan led me to a very specific training she created called the Certified Financial Transitionist® (CeFT®). As I have mentioned in a previous podcast, I was searching for a training that would complete my personal and professional experience. Susan's training has provided me with scientific theory behind life transitions and in my case, grief. Through Susan's training I have completed the trifecta of personal experience, professional experience honed with scientific theory to garner tools to help clients with the personal side of money. Susan is the founder of the Sudden Money® Institute (www.suddenmoney.com), which began almost 22 years ago as a community of practice seeking to better serve their financial planning clients by developing process and tools for the personal side of money and for clients going through transitions. This think tank created the Certified Financial Transitionist® (CeFT®) designation, and a division for training and certification called the Financial Transitionist® Institute. Susan has served on the FPA's National Board of Directors, currently sits on the National Football League's Players Association's Financial Education Advisory Board and serves as the Dean of Transitions for the Council of Deans of the Purposeful Planning Institute. She is seen and heard frequently in the national media, including NBC's Nightly News, CNN, NPR, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. She is the author of Sudden Money: Managing a Financial Windfall (Wiley 2000), and her TEDx Wilmington Women talk is called, “Change launches you into the next great chapter of your life, whether you like it or not.” It can be found here.If you like this episode, please subscribe to be the first to be notified of any upcoming episodes. In the first installment of Ross Marino's talk with Susan Bradley, co-authors of the book “Shaping Change”, they discuss the three key components to a successful retirement. Help your clients prepare for anything that might come their way and handle unforeseen changes as they plan for retirement by using the three C's: Community, Control and Contribution.CommunityThe human side of retirement revolves around community. Humans are social creatures, but during retirement, you may lose the connections that you had in your working life. Like physical health, maintaining your mental health is necessary to thrive, which makes building relationships and being part of a community so vital for a fulfilling retirement.ControlAs you transition into retirement, you have the ability to use your time, budget and energy for what is most important to maintain your health and happiness. Be sure to set boundaries and be honest with those around you.ContributionIt is important to live with purpose and be fulfilled with what you do. Not everyone knows what will be meaningful for them as they transition into retirement. Sometimes it takes creativity and courage to try new things and find out what brings meaning to your life.Significant events require big decisions, and big decisions require a process. There is no new beginning without an ending.Learn about The Retirement & Longevity SummitGet your copy of "Shaping Change" Connect With A2X Social:FacebookLinkedInInstagramTwitterLearn More About Advisor2X©Advisor2X. In the third installment with Susan Bradley, Ross Marino and Susan, co-authors of the book “Shaping Change”, discuss the four characteristics of activities that can successfully employ these keys so you can help your clients make the best of their time after retirement.Activities should be: Routine - Explore and partiipate in regularly scheduled, repeatable activities that become a part of your lifestyle.Social - Avoid isolation, gain perspective, and maintain your mental health with new and consistent social interaction.Challenging - Choosing activities that are too easy, comfortable or familiar may result in boredom. Choose activities that require some effort--whether mental or physical.Measurable - Set your own criteria for satisfying activities and make sure they are worth the time and money you spend on them. Why do these characteristics matter? When we're not engaged in fulfilling activities, we're more apt to become bored or spend extra money--but retirement is a journey, not a race. Remember to give yourself the room to try, reflect, adjust.Learn about the Retirement & Longevity SummitGet your copy of "Shaping Change"Connect With A2X Social:FacebookLinkedInInstagramTwitterLearn More About Advisor2X©Advisor2X.
