Emma Chase is the founder and director of Tier One Management. Having left New Zealand at 22, Emma crossed the ditch for an opportunity to work with Dale Beaumont, who was an up and coming entrepreneur in Sydney. Over the next 14 years, they published over 15 business books and built Business Blueprint, a business education company that held conferences for small business owners across Australia. During that time, Emma worked her way up to General Manager and was responsible for finding and booking over 50 speakers per year. This means she has personally seen over 500 keynote speakers and has developed relationships (and friendships) with many people within the industry. After finishing at Business Blueprint she has worked with a number of speakers, helping them to build and systemise their businesses, as well as running a publishing company and working with her chosen charity, Hands Across the Water. Creating Tier One Management has been a natural progression and something she is extremely passionate about. Emma's main priority in life is being the best Mum she can be to her 4 year old daughter Coco. Her other loves include her family, friends and being in the sunshine at any beach. Emma Chase shared in this episode: The experience of being 21 and working with Dale Beaumont to publish 11 books in one year, and has published close to 50 books now How things have changed in the book publishing industry, and being a pioneer in self publishing 20 years ago Her experience with ‘Business Blueprint', and running 500 events+, and how you can use events to grow your business. What do you want to convey and what the audience wants That there are 400,000 business events in Australia per year - so you need to make it stand out The market is saturated with speakers, and it is a skill to hold the audience and entertain them and have relevant information from them The importance of adapting presentations to suit the audience and creating unique experiences at events Her Life-changing Question: ‘Will it make me happy?' If it is, keep doing it, if it is not, not worth your time Her encouragement of working moms to embrace the juggle and find support networks while prioritizing their own happiness Her excitement about starting a business that allows her to be there for her daughter while contributing meaningfully to a cause she is passionate about The power of having a bigger purpose And much more... Sustainability in FDC: It Ain't Just Being Green! Welcome, dear listeners, wherever you find yourself on this delightful day. Grab your morning brew (if it's still hot) and let's dive into a chat that's as invigorating as your first sip of coffee. Now, here's a little fun fact – I'm recording this at the bright and early hour of 20 past six in the morning. Yep, before my coffee has even properly kicked in. You know that feeling when the family knocks five minutes early, and you're mid-coffee? That's me right now! But back to the topic on hand. Today, we'll traverse the fascinating world of sustainability in family daycare. If you caught our last heart-to-heart, you know things got, well, let's say "heated" (and not just because of my lukewarm coffee). We covered vast ground, touching upon the need for long-term strategies. Sustainability isn't solely about being eco-conscious. Oh no! The past couple of years have truly spotlighted the multifaceted nature of sustainability. So, maybe grab a notepad (if you can find one with that early morning haze) because this chat is going to be enlightening. There's a crucial conversation that's been hushed in the FDC arena, one that I've been quite vocal about. Navigating the labyrinth of early childhood education requires context – an understanding of the big picture. Many educators transition from centres, or maybe it's their first foray into business. There are cold, hard truths to grasp and understand. Times are evolving, rules are shifting, and we must remain agile and informed. Ever felt like you're traversing a path blindfolded? I've been there. For years. But over a decade in the business, paired with insights from invaluable mentors, shifted my perspective. I remember my first mentor, Dale Beaumont, from Business Blueprint. Despite his unfamiliarity with early childhood education, he introduced me to the art of 'selling your service'. That was a game-changer! Suddenly, I wasn't just an educator; I was a storyteller, sharing the value of what we offer. So, as we delve deeper into today's topic, let's remember: it's not just about going green, it's about evolving, adapting, and staying informed. Join me on this journey. Let's make a sustainable impact together! In this thought-provoking episode, Ros shares her insights and personal experiences surrounding the importance of coaches and mentors, especially in the business world. Drawing from her own background, she reflects on her time working at McDonald's as a teenager in Australia and how the organisational structure and community there shaped her. She emphasises the importance of good mentors and people looking out for her, fostering her love for Hospitality and Tourism. She also contrasts her experience with her high school community and highlights how her part-time job became her community and laid the foundation for her views on coaching and mentoring. Ros dives into the alarming statistics regarding small and medium-sized enterprises in Australia, highlighting how a significant number of these businesses fail within the first few years. She argues that there is often a lack of support for small business owners and draws attention to the difference between how coaches are perceived in sports compared to business. The discussion leads to her personal journey in her travel business and her decision to join a business coaching program called Business Blueprint by Dale Beaumont, despite the five-figure investment. This experience led her to recognize the value of being challenged and having a mentor to guide and inspire. The episode wraps up with Ros' reflections on why coaching and mentoring are not only important but also essential for personal and professional growth. She acknowledges that the investment in a coach or mentor can be intimidating but emphasises that it can be a game-changer for many. Drawing from her own experience and those of her friends, she encourages listeners to think bigger, challenge their beliefs, and recognise the opportunity coaching and mentoring can provide in various aspects of life. Welcome to Better Business Better Life, the podcast where Debra Chantry-Taylor dives deep into the world of business and entrepreneurship. In this episode, she sits down with Scott Bywater, a renowned copywriter who has mastered the art of email marketing. Scott's journey into copywriting started in 2003 when he hit rock bottom and took a leap of faith by placing a small classified ad in the Sydney Morning Herald. Little did he know that this would be the catalyst for his incredible career. Since then, Scott has become the unseen wordsmith behind numerous widely published and highly profitable email marketing campaigns. With his expertise, Scott has achieved remarkable results, including a jaw-dropping $470,000.00 in revenue within just 7 days from an email product launch. He has also crafted over 9,127 email subject lines, analyzing the split-test results for one of the most influential health influencers worldwide. Moreover, his strategic copy has generated over 3,000 attendees and a staggering $5 million in sales for an event. These accomplishments are just the tip of the iceberg, as Scott has executed dozens of five and six figure campaigns throughout his 17-year career. Scott has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including renowned gurus like Kerwin Ray, Scott Hallman, and Jay Conrad Levinson, the mastermind behind 'Guerilla Marketing.' He has also collaborated with giants in direct marketing such as Bodytrim and The Learning Annex, as well as leading Aussie franchises like ChemDry and Jim's Mowing. In the digital marketing space, Scott has partnered with industry leaders like Jon Giaan, Knowledge Source, Mark Rolton, and Dymphna Boholt. As the founder of the esteemed "Elite Marketers" private marketing group in Australia, Scott has established himself as an authority in the field. He is a sought-after corporate speaker, sharing his wisdom and insights at high-profile events like James Schramko's Superfast Business Event, Dale Beaumont's masterminds, and Ben Simkin's conferences. Through his experiences, Scott discovered that many business owners underestimate the power of their email lists and doubt the effectiveness of email marketing in their industries. To address this need, he is on the verge of launching The Simple Email ROI System, a comprehensive training program designed to help business owners leverage their most undervalued asset—their email lists. In this podcast episode, Scott and Debra discuss practical strategies for entrepreneurs to unleash the full potential of their email lists. Did you know that our guest today is the reason behind Russell Brunson's success? Today, we have Armand Morin on the show, and it was so cool to go down a page in history, as he talked about the early days of internet marketing way back in 1996. He tells the story of how he made over one million dollars selling bookmarks in the days before payment processors. Also, his email strategy and MAE framework were interesting to us, as well as how he doesn't believe in funnels. He has flipped the idea of the funnel into more of a pipeline and gave us a dissertation on how to do email with this approach. We also chat about his email sequence based on webinars, which was another massive topic. This show was much more tactical than we thought, as Armand covered email strategies, webinar strategies, and even how to become a country music star. He's also a national champion with Tai Kwon Do, and follows that whole “Success Leaves Traces” philosophy, which you can learn about in his book of the same name. After you've listened, you might enjoy our episodes with Dale Beaumont and David Jenyns for more tips on creating systems to save time and work smarter. Lastly, if you are heading to Traffic & Conversions Summit, be sure to stop by our booth in the expo area and come say hello! There will be challenges, fun, and prizes! If you want to come network and hang out with us, we are going to be throwing a huge party at Mission Brewery in San Diego on Tuesday evening. There will be sponsors (if you want to sponsor, hit us up!) and we promise this will be a super fun party that you do not want to miss. “At 3 hours into my whole internet career, I find this website that says ‘If you give me $20, I will put a link on my site that will link to your site and because I'm advertising so much, you're going to get a lot of traffic to your site' and I thought, Oh man, that's brilliant!” - Armand Morin Some Topics We Discussed Include: How to hack your way into becoming a huge country music star Avoiding a painful, first business lesson The early days of selling links and having to print out paper checks! How Armand created the world's original search engine What happens when you get your merchant account shut down when you are on track to make over $150,000,000 in a year Why you want to think of selling through a pipeline, not a marketing funnel The early days of the Warrior Forum - who knew?! Changing up your email system with the MAE method, so you are getting more open rates and not hammering your list with the same message over and over The new webinar strategy that has been a game-changer (it's easier than you may think) How to reverse engineer anything, even learning how to water ski Resources From Armand Morin: Success Leaves Traces Book Armand's Index Card Productivity Strategy ArmandMorin.com MarketingUniversity.com Armand Morin on YouTube Michael Lee Austin - Armand's CD that went to #1 on Amazon References and Links Mentioned: Active Campaign Are you ready to be EPIC with us?! This is the last recording that we recorded in Matt’s office - woo-hoo! We really loved our conversation with today’s guest - Dale Beaumont of BusinessBlueprint.com. The way he creates his systems is so smart, and if you did not see the video version of it, he showed us that he has a flowchart for literally everything he does in his business. His systems include things like how to change the lightbulbs and how to make coffee in the coffee maker as well as more in-depth tasks such as how to set up an email campaign and how to create an asset register. You can see that video on our YouTube channel at HustleAndFlowchart.tv There was also a boatload of mindset stuff, as Dale talked about how we create excuses that hold us back and reminded us that there are so many tasks we do ourselves that are super easy which we know we can hand off to someone else. It’s not about the time, it’s about the mental space and the opportunity cost. Dale also showed us how to document things with apps such as Loom or Otter and how, basically you can run an entire coordinated event, assigning due dates, and linking to all of your SOP’s. We also talk about how he was able to publish 11 different books in one year and how he set up his systems which allow him to travel with his family 4 months out of the year. After you have listened, check out our chats with Michael Gerber, another systems marketer, and Crystal Dwyer Hansen & Mark Victor Hansen who were instrumental in Dale’s success with book publishing. “The reason being is because I had great systems. When you’ve got good systems and people, and you’ve got a good product, then you can really scale.” - Dale Beaumont Some Topics We Discussed Include: How Dale is able to spend two months at home, then travel for one month, including his wife and two kids Being able to publish eleven books in one year Smart advice to move forward from one of the most successful book authors This one question to ask yourself to determine if you need a system or not Setting up your own mission control for all of your team’s tasks The three core components you need when systemizing your business Getting over the limiting thoughts so you can hand more stuff off to save you hours and hours of time Making business decision using simple math Resources From Dale Beaumont: BusinessBlueprint.com References and Links Mentioned: Secrets Exposed Business Blueprint Loom ScreenCast-O-Matic Google Sites Active Campaign Ontraport Descript Are you ready to be EPIC with us?!
