In this episode, I reflect on the first six months of 2025 and how I unpack them before setting goals for the remaining six months of the year. It's essential to acknowledge our resilience and the ways we responded during challenging times. Instead of focusing solely on external validation, I encourage listeners to reflect on their own internal growth and the lessons they have learned. There is this idea of a "gap" between our lofty goals and the subconscious beliefs that may hold us back. This gap can manifest as self-doubt, procrastination, or a fear of visibility. Our subconscious mind plays a crucial role in shaping our results, and if our thoughts do not align with our aspirations, we may inadvertently sabotage our progress. In the episode, I share a series of reflective prompts to help listeners identify the stories they tell themselves, the emotions tied to their goals, and the identities they reinforce through their self-talk. By bringing awareness to these patterns, we can begin to rewire our beliefs and align our thoughts with our desired outcomes. In this episode, I share some insight on how I shift myself through indecision. The real issue isn't the decision itself but the time and energy we spend in the indecisive state. Prolonged indecision can lead to an energy leak, as we worry about disappointing others or making the wrong choice. I share the concept of training our brains to make aligned decisions more quickly and confidently. Our subconscious mind plays a significant role in our decision-making patterns, often leading us to avoid discomfort and fear associated with making choices. I encourage listeners to recognize that indecision is often rooted in outdated beliefs and fears, which can create a gap that keeps us stuck. I share a simple technique, future pacing, to help move out of indecision more quickly. In this episode, I am sharing the early part of my journey that started with dealing with teen substance abuse, and trying to find the counselling and support that led me to group programs, counsellors, psychologists, and programs, turning over rocks to try to find solutions. In the process, I found the difference between traditional psychology and NLP, recognizing that I am not diagnosing or treating anything. I am sharing my experience.  I eventually discovered a crisis counsellor program that offered me practical guidance during moments of crisis, which was a game-changer for me. This experience led me to question traditional counselling methods, particularly the focus on past trauma, as exemplified by Freud's approach. Instead, I found solace and empowerment in Adler's future-focused perspective, which aligns closely with NLP. NLP is based on shifting our identity and focusing on the future rather than reliving and giving energy to our past traumas, easily allowing that to become our identity. In this episode, I share my thoughts on the common tendency to chase after goals—reaching a new income level, achieving a sold-out offer, or becoming the version of ourselves we aspire to be. I emphasize that instead of chasing these external validations, we should focus on becoming the person who embodies those goals. Chasing often stems from a place of lack, where we seek external validation to feel worthy. I share stories of individuals who achieved their goals only to find that they still felt unfulfilled, highlighting the importance of internal validation. Throughout the episode, I explore leading from identity rather than chasing lack. I discuss how our nervous systems can become anxious when we feel we are not enough, leading to a constant state of seeking safety and validation. In this episode, I discuss the internal conflict many of us experience, which I metaphorically call a "war" within ourselves. This internal struggle often arises when two parts of us desire different outcomes, leading to feelings of doubt, fear, and uncertainty. I explore how resisting these conflicting parts can perpetuate a cycle of self-sabotage and emotional turmoil. Drawing from a recent in-person Outspoken Intensive, I introduce the powerful tool of Parts Integration, a technique rooted in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). This method allows individuals to recognize and reconcile their opposing parts, ultimately leading to alignment and peace. I emphasize that it's normal to have conflicting desires, such as wanting to grow a business while fearing the responsibilities that come with it. I want to challenge you to consider whether you want to be part of the 99% who never take that leap or join the less than 1% who do. Throughout the episode, I explore the common fears and beliefs that hold aspiring authors back. Many struggle with feelings of inadequacy, fearing that their stories aren't significant enough or that they might hurt others. I emphasize that these fears often stem from a subconscious desire for safety and protection from exposure. It's crucial to recognize that the intent behind these fears is to keep you safe, but they can also prevent you from sharing your truth and helping others. In this episode, I am sharing my take on the concept of "Let Them," inspired by Mel Robbins' teachings. I share my own journey and the lessons I've learned about control, choice, and the importance of allowing others to navigate their paths. I begin by reflecting on my experience attending a Mel Robbins event, where her powerful message resonated with me, despite my initial discomfort. I discuss how the idea of "Let Them" felt foreign to me as a parent who has faced the challenges of teen substance abuse. For me, the concept was not just about relinquishing control over trivial matters like prom; it was a matter of survival. I had to learn to let my children make their own choices, even when those choices were difficult for me to understand.  HIGHLIGHTS 00:00:23 - Inspiration from Mel Robbins 00:01:05 - The Concept of "Let Them" 00:02:31 - Survival Through Letting Go 00:03:37 - Lessons from Parenting Challenges 00:04:52 - The Illusion of Control 00:06:37 - The Power of Releasing Control 00:08:11 - Personal Responsibility and Choices 00:09:57 - Finding Safety Within 00:11:02 - Living at Cause 00:12:47 - Reclaiming Personal Power Marsha Vanwynsberghe — NLP Storytelling Trainer, OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification, Author, Speaker, and Podcaster Download “You Are Supported” Hypnosis and Subliminal Bundle HERE  Join the next cohort of OUTSPOKEN NLP Coaching Certification (kick-off in March 2025) HERE Learn more about changing the Stories We Tell Ourselves Digital Program HERE. In this episode, I share the power of metaphors and how they can help us understand our subconscious mind. I share a compelling metaphor involving two electrical outlets, one representing our past and the other our future. On the left side, we have the "old plug," connected to our daily thoughts, old patterns, and negative beliefs—essentially everything that has shaped who we are up to this point. This side is familiar and feels safe, but it often keeps us in a negative cycle. On the right side, we have the "new plug," which symbolizes our future potential, aspirations, and the identity we are striving to become. This outlet is connected to our visions and the possibilities that lie ahead. Every thought we have throughout the day is like a choice to plug into one of these outlets. The challenge is becoming aware of which plug we are connecting to and consciously choosing the one that aligns with our desired future. In this episode, I share the concept of becoming the version of ourselves that can hold our dreams before we chase them. Our nervous systems must feel safe and regulated to pursue our goals effectively. If we rush into chasing what we want without first anchoring into our identity, we risk operating from a place of lack rather than power. I share my journey of deciding to publish "Unreserved," highlighting the month I took to reflect on whether I was ready for such a significant commitment. This pause allowed me to assess my beliefs, emotional state, and the blocks that could hinder my ability to lead and sustain the energy of this project. If we chase our goals without addressing our internal barriers, we may experience burnout, self-sabotage, and the inability to sustain the results we are constructing and creating.
