Viridis Mining and Minerals Limited (ASX:VMM) CEO Rafael Moreno joins Proactive's Tylah Tully to discuss the company's latest news and investor case. Viridis has reported exceptional results from its maiden mixed rare earth carbonate (MREC) production campaign at the Northern Concessions of the Colossus Ionic Adsorption Clay (IAC) Project. The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) conducted the test work, which confirmed record-breaking recoveries of magnetic rare earth oxides (MREOs), including praseodymium (77%), neodymium (76%), dysprosium (67%) and terbium (71%), resulting in an overall 76% MREO recovery. The process used a low-cost ammonia-based flowsheet operating at a pH of 4.5, room temperature, and a 30-minute residence time. Most impressively, after the ammonia sulphate leaching step, there are minimal losses of REEs throughout the entire flowsheet to produce a final saleable MREC product, which is groundbreaking. The final MREC product achieved a high concentration of 60% total rare earth oxides (TREO), with an MREO/TREO ratio of 39%, the highest globally for an IAC project. Impurities were kept to a minimal 1%, which supports ongoing discussions with potential offtake partners. The low reagent consumption and the use of higher pH have reduced operating costs, making the Colossus project economically competitive. These results position Colossus as a leading rare earth project, demonstrating its technical and economic potential to produce high-quality MREC with a premium basket value. #ProactiveInvestors #ASX #ViridisMining #RareEarthElements #MREC #ColossusProject #MiningNews #RareEarths #IACProject #Praseodymium #Neodymium #Dysprosium #Terbium #MiningIndustry #ANSTO #AustraliaMining #Minerals #RareEarthOxides #TREO #SustainableMining #MiningUpdates #OreProcessing #MineralExploration

"Hello again Word Lovers!" Crimson: Red was covered in the PIE again episode but we can take a look at Crimson to start here. Carmesí in modern Spanish, from Cremesinus in Latin,- inus is an indicator that it was adapted by the Romans, originally from an Arabic word Quirmiz. This translates into Slavonic as červená and would therefore explain why the football team Red Star Belgrade is now known as Fudbalski klub Crvena zvezda. Yellow: Can be traced back to PIE roots meaning to shine, glow or gleam -ghlei, ghlo or ghel. Blue: Often defined as the colour of the clear sky. In Homer's works the sea is often described as "wine dark" and the sky as the colour of bronze so even using "sky coloured" as a definition of blue is fraught with difficulty. Frankish blao or other Germanic source from Proto-Germanic blaewaz and the Old English blaw. French and Italian have the word as we can recognise it although Italian also has "azzuri" to mean dark blue and of course blue is "azul" in Spanish. Russian does not have a word for blue (a lot of grey skies in Mother Russia - Ed), they have a word for dark blue "sinii" and sky blue "goluboi". Japanese traffic lights are blue not green due to the distinctions they make regarding colours. Find out more about Japanese words in the previous episode There can be some cross over between blue and grey and green as well. Green: In Old English and Middle English from Germanic gronja, Old Norse graenn and unsurprisingly connected to he word for grass and grow, a PIE root in fact with ghre. Latin had Viridis which leads to verde, Primavera, Vivere (to grow) Vert, Verdant, Verdure etc. Black: blakaz in Proto Germanic to mean burned/burnt or dark in general. Old Norse blakkr

The spectral properties of the excited electronic state of the reaction centers of Rhodopseudomonas (Rps.) viridis are studied by dichroic transient absorption spectroscopy with sub-picosecond time resolution. The theoretical analysis of the experimental results allows the assignment of the transient absorption from two dimer bands of the special pair and show its excitonic coupling to other pigments.
The primary, light-induced charge separation in reaction centers of Rhodopseudomonas viridis is investigated with femtosecond time resolution. The absorption changes after direct excitation of the primary donor P at 955 nm are investigated in the time range from 100 fs to 600 ps. The experimental data, taken at various probing wavelengths, reveal one subpicosecond and two picosecond time constants: 0.65 ± 0.2 ps, 3.5 ± 0.4 ps, and 200 ± 20 ps. The previously undetected 0.65 ps kinetics can be observed clearly in the spectral range of the Qx and Qy transitions of the monomeric bacteriochlorophylls. The experimental data support the idea that the accessory bacteriochlorophyll B A participates in the electron-transfer process. References

The light-induced radical cation of the primary electron donor P960+• in photosynthetic reaction centers from Rhodopseudomonas viridis has been investigated by ESR, ENDOR and TRIPLE techniques. Both the comparison with the cation radical of monomeric bacteriochlorophyll b (BChl b) and with molecular-orbital calculations performed on P960+• using the results of an X-ray structure analysis, consistently show an asymmetric distribution of the unpaired electron over the two BChl b molecules which constitute P960+•. The possible relevance of this result for the primary electron transfer step in the reaction center is briefly discussed.
Absorption spectra and light-induced absorbance changes of crystals from Rhodopseudomonas viridis reaction centers are recorded. A theoretical analysis of the absorption and circular dichroism spectra is presented, yielding a consistent picture of spectroscopic and structural information.
