The One80 podcast is a truly inspiring and faith-filled show that will leave listeners feeling encouraged and uplifted. Through the personal testimonies of its guests, this podcast reminds us of the immense love and pursuit of Jesus for His lost sheep. Whether you are already a believer or just starting to explore your faith, the stories shared on this podcast will surely touch your heart and give you hope.

One of the best aspects of The One80 podcast is its ability to showcase a wide range of personal transformation stories. Each episode features a different guest who shares their unique journey from darkness to light, offering a diverse perspective on how God can work in people's lives. From addiction recovery to overcoming trauma, these stories show that no matter how broken or lost we may feel, there is always hope for restoration and renewal through Christ. This variety in testimonies ensures that there is something relatable and applicable for everyone who listens.

Another great aspect of The One80 podcast is the authenticity displayed by both the host and the guests. The conversations are real, raw, and vulnerable as they navigate through their own struggles and victories. This transparency allows listeners to connect on a deeper level with the guests, creating an atmosphere of empathy and understanding. It's refreshing to hear stories that don't sugarcoat the challenges but instead focus on the redemptive power of God's grace.

However, one potential drawback of The One80 podcast is its heavy reliance on religious language and terminology. While this may not be an issue for those who are well-versed in Christian teachings, it could potentially alienate listeners who are new to faith or exploring spirituality from different backgrounds. Finding a balance between maintaining its Christian identity while also making the content accessible to a wider audience could enhance the overall appeal of the podcast.

In conclusion, The One80 podcast is a powerful platform for sharing stories of transformation and faith. Its ability to showcase diverse testimonies provides inspiration for listeners from all walks of life. While there may be room for improvement in terms of making the content more inclusive, the podcast's authenticity and message of God's love shining through in the lives of His lost sheep make it a must-listen for anyone looking to be inspired on their own spiritual journey.

College Students Unite with Jesus: UniteUS Baylor

Something extraordinary is happening on college campuses across America. While headlines often focus on political activism or social trends among Gen Z, a powerful spiritual awakening is taking root that deserves our attention.UniteUS represents the latest wave in this movement - a structured revival approach that's quickly spreading from campus to campus with remarkable results. We traveled to Baylor University to witness UniteUS firsthand, giving you a front-row seat to what God is doing. That night, approximately 250 students made decisions for Christ, including an atheist who had simply followed the crowd to the event. But perhaps most remarkable were the hundreds of students who flooded the stage when challenged to commit to ministry and missions. We interviewed Matt Baksa, a Baylor senior who's foregoing law school to pursue missions among unreached people groups in Africa. His story represents countless others making radical decisions in response to God's call. "There are 3.4 billion people that will never have the opportunity to even accept the possibility [of knowing Christ] without us going to tell them," Matt explained, capturing the urgency motivating this generation.Whether you're curious about spiritual movements among Gen Z, seeking encouragement about the future of faith in America, or feeling the stirring to answer a similar call, this episode offers a glimpse into what could be the beginning of a significant spiritual awakening. Helpful links:See it live on YouTube!https://youtu.be/8x5F3WkXibw?si=FgYj5jB1b-3cf31WUniteUSPray for the Nations with OneWay's PrayercastUniteUS Baylor, CBN News StoryBaylor's FM72Baylor UniversityOne80 on Asbury Revival of 2023One80 on College Football AwakeningHowtoLife MovementThe Send ConferenceThe Passion ConferenceJohn 14:6Luke 10:2Let us know what you thought of the show!Follow One80 on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or our website.Never miss a One80. 86, From Touchdown to Faith: Wes Tucker

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 30, 2025 23:01 Transcription Available

What happens when your entire identity and self-worth are wrapped up in athletic performance, and suddenly that's taken away? Wesley Tucker, an offensive lineman at Baylor University, lived this reality when a devastating injury sidelined him just as he was beginning to rebuild his relationship with God.Growing up with sporadic church attendance, Wes had basic knowledge of Christianity but lacked genuine faith. By high school, football had become his god – dictating his sense of value based on performance. "I had a good game, I loved myself. I had a bad game, I hated myself," he recalls. Though he accepted Christ around age 15 after a powerful youth camp experience, that commitment faded as athletic achievement again took center stage.Arriving at Baylor as a freshman, Wes faced the jarring transition from high school star to bottom of the depth chart. Searching for validation, he made choices that pulled him further from faith. But God wasn't finished with him. Through Baylor's team Bible study, Wes gradually reconnected with his faith. Then came the defining moment – a catastrophic knee injury that ended his season. Lying on the field in excruciating pain, something shifted: "Okay God, it's yours. You want my attention? You have it."What followed was remarkable. Instead of despair, Wes found peace. The injury that stripped away his athletic identity became the catalyst for complete surrender. On December 17, 2024, surrounded by teammates, Wes was baptized – making "an outward profession of an inward transformation." Today, former drinking buddies attend church with him, inspired by his journey.Have you tied your identity to something as fragile as performance or achievement? Listen to Wes's powerful testimony of finding purpose beyond the field and discovering that no one is ever too far gone for transformation.Helpful links:One80, Contact UsBaylor UniversityBaylor Sports MinistryBaylor Sports Ministry DiscipleshipOhio State Football Team AwakeningESPN discusses football players faith being lived outAustin Football Player interrupts press conference to give glory to GodLet us know what you thought of the show!Follow One80 on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or our website.Never miss a One80. He didn't let on how uncomfortable he was, and how strong the need was to reinvent himself in his new situation. And he was totally unprepared for the onslaught of temptation that would come his way through social media. He went from Awana and pancake breakfasts to Instagram and pornography. He explains how he was then drawn into same sex attraction. “I think right around the start of high school it became very clear in my mind, ‘Wow, this is who we are.' And it was a very silent thing. And it wasn't like this big coming out party to myself; but I would say the words like, ‘Yeah. Be honest with yourself; be your true self.' That's kind of everything that was being projected to me.” But feelings of isolation and confusion only festered when he went to Liberty University, until the night Micah planned to take his life. That's when the Holy Spirit prompted a friend to barge in; Micah's rescue started that day. “It all made sense. The same God who sent his son to die for our sins so that we could have everlasting life, that unconditional love, he did that despite knowing everything I was walking through-- pornography, online relationships with guys, and everything that entailed. God unconditionally loved me and he made that known.”Micah rededicated his life to Jesus and repented. Being honest with himself, his maker, and talking to trusted friends, Micah found healing from his sexual sin and he now leads a blog called Path Toward Holiness, which gives Christians the tools to have tough and important conversations. The Sendoff features a rap from TC Boyd the Artist, curated in honor of Micah's story.Micah's blog, Path Toward Holiness Micah on Instagram  Follow One80 on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or our website.Never miss a One80. Living this double life that was a secret to his tight knit community caused John to develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD. School became difficult and more than one teacher said he would amount to nothing. According to John, "This is all I'd ever heard. My grades were deplorable. I was living a battle in my own head in school. I came from a home where violence was the norm. So that norm didn't shut off in my head. It became an echo chamber. My brain began to spiral these thoughts. And when you're living in a home like that, you're not going to get mental help. You're not going to the doctor. You're not getting care. It was just pure survival. It was just another day. It was not out of line of what I was told at home or told by other teachers."And later, John turned to alcohol to mask PTSD symptoms. In his mid 30s, the doctor told John he was dying from the inside out with full-blown alcoholism. Even that couldn't stop him from drinking. John was finally to the end of himself, where Jesus tends to do his best work. A desperate prayer was answered and John got clean. Just a month later, he enrolled in Harvard Business School. The rest, as they say, is history.John is now a CEO of an engineering firm, author of the book, "The Appalachian Kid," national speaker, and White House guest.Today's Sendoff features Mo Thompson reading, "I Met the Master." The former Navy SEAL, former SWAT Team member, and current pastor is not only Christian heavy, but wants us to see Jesus as a meek warrior too. That's the savior he found, after growing up an atheist, attempting to fill an abandonment hole with patriotism and coming to the end of himself, right into the arms of Jesus. Speaking of his time as a Navy SEAL and hints of Jesus he encountered, "So these breadcrumbs that God put there are just men of God in my life that I noticed all have one thing in common. They all had an incredible peace about them. The rest of us were raging and thrashing and dealing in a high octane profession, guys who have to decompress somehow. The only effective way I've seen people handle that without damaging themselves was Christians. Everyone else, we went to the bar and went to women and went to other things. The subscriber joins along in this prayer, guided by prayer points and encouraging imagery of the land. According to Chris Ruge, Prayercast Director who oversees Love Muslims, “One of the unique things about Muslims is the vast majority earnestly desire to know the Creator God.  There's a strong faith in most Muslims around the world. The problem is the information they have about who God is is incorrect. And so if they continue to follow that information, they'll never find who God is. And so the reason we pray, especially during Ramadan, is during this month Muslims are fasting and praying. This is a time of heightened intensity where they're seeking after God to know him more and they believe that He'll reveal himself more during this month.  They're asking to know God more and we're coming alongside and saying, 'Yes, God, we join with Muslims and ask that you would reveal yourself that they would see who you are for the first time.'It's a beautiful way for God to usher us in prayer knowledgeably, strategically, fervently and passionately for a group of people we may have never considered praying for before.”There are lots of Muslim background believer testimonies on OneWay's Love Muslims page, find it here. Kim Endraske was a passionate atheist who enjoyed debating Christians. Except that no one wanted to enter the ring with her. “The Christians that I knew really didn't know how to answer me, So when I would say some comment like, ‘How can you believe the Bible is real?' They would just kind of look at me; they couldn't really defend their faith.” Kim was really just waiting for someone to engage her hard questions. “I really had no idea what I was talking about. And if someone who was really wise and had studied, they probably could have sat down and really talked to me. But no one really was there to walk me through and explain to me, that actually, there are scientific reasons to believe.” This all changed when a new friend answered her prolific questions about Christianity, even though as Kim said, “He didn't have any idea really what to say.” But since he wasn't afraid to engage with her, when he actually shared the gospel, Kim became a believer. With her newfound faith, the Bible opened up for Kim and she embraced Christianity. Kim shares how her faith got her through the death of an infant and how she now helps others going through the same grief. Today's show will be especially helpful for those who are intimidated to engage with atheists. Host, Margaret Ereneta, said, “It's interesting, we get so intimidated around atheists, ardent atheists, passionate atheists, but we forget that we hold the truth and they don't have it. We have something that they need to hear. And I love that you're saying if someone would've just told me this or had an argument for me, or just had the courage to speak up, it really would've helped and they didn't.”Today's Sendoff is a guided prayer for atheists from OneWay's Prayercast. Helpful links:Transcript of the showTalking to atheists, Stand to ReasonOne80 episode with Jon NoyesWhere to find Kim:YouTubeBlog, TeachWhatIsGoodInstagramKim's book, God is Real: The Eyewitness Testimony of a Former AtheistKim's new Christmas book, From Creation to Christ: A Family Advent Devotional Tracing the Story of the SaviorKim's ministry to families continuing their pregnancy to term: www.AChildOfPromise.org Follow One80 on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or our website.Never miss a One80. He boldly asked God to reveal Himself, and that's when a mysterious man showed up on the beach. That man was Michael Thompson, founder of OneWay, while he was serving as a missionary in Ghana. Through the love of Michael and the Christians on his team, David was being drawn ever closer to the truth of Jesus.  Hear the amazing circumstances that finally propelled David to commit to Jesus and how that same love spurred on his entire family to become Christians. Mahmoud grew up in an Iranian prominent Muslim family. His grandfather served as an Ayatollah and Mahmoud was to follow in his footsteps. His faith in Islam even got strengthened as he became a “living martyr” who wanted to learn Biblical Christianity to keep it out of his country. When he encountered a Christian who invited him to church, Mahmoud became so angry he planned on burning down the church. ”He got me so angry. I said, ‘Yes, I'm coming.' My student turned back to me. He said, ‘You're going to church?' I said, ‘Of course I'm going to church. This is my country. I give up blood for this country. This is Islamic country; this is my city. We give a right to Christians to have a church in my city. I'm going to burn that church down!'”In Part 1 hear what it was like to grow up in Iran, what he thought of Christians and how Mahmoud started reading the Bible to fight them.
