Join me for Part 2 of Agnes' story. If you are yet to listen to Part 1, you can do that here. Between the time of recording and this episode going live, Agnes' story has deepend with her husbands cancer diagnosis and a medical procedure of her own. Please take a moment to send love and healing energy to her and her family while they are navigating another huge milestone in their lives. What I have learned through Agnes' is that life will continue to bring things towards you, there will always be growth in one way or another and that comes through challenges. The way that she handles herself now, as she navigates life without ego, completely humble, with love and kindness first is something I hope to continue to embody through my own life. Agnes is grounded in the brilliance of this existence and the importance of our seemingly small moments and how they create the life that we get to live. Agnes came into my life in early 2023 and she has revealed herself as a beautifully intricate ever unfolding rose. For me personally Agnes has been a beacon of groundedness and clarity through a time in my life where change was frequent and rapid. She is kind, wise and thoughtful. A beautiful mother, partner and teacher. In this episode Agnes tells us about her early life in the French Countryside and the idyllic adventures she often took with her father to the clear shift in her life after her parents split. Agnes went on to study Archeology in both France and England earning herself not one but two Masters degrees in Archeology. She set out on an adventure with wonderful discoveries, both personally, historically and spiritually. Agnes shares generously, without ego and with a sense of self that many of us dream to one day embody. I know you will enjoy part one of Agnes story this with on Medicine Mother. Be sure to come back next week for Episode 99, the biggest part of her story, a medical finding that changed her forever. For my little family, the 2024 energetics have been so different to 2023, the themes of this year have been slowness, sacrifice, devotion, joy and replenishment. Where we are now I feel so much more held that I have in the previous years. It feels internal and also external. Exploring where home is, as an idea feels interesting right now. In this episode I bring you up to date from where we left off in Episode 95. A more flowing and magical year that has tied up loose ends and offered a-new. I mention a few sweet humans and businesses across this life update, I've included them and their links below. Thank you for being here for opening week, it's been a hoot! If there is something you'd love to ask me, or something you'd love more on, come over to social media. I'll be sharing episodes weekly now on a Wednesday morning AEDT. A LOT has happened in my world since we were last connected, as I'm certain has been the case for you too. It feels natural to share the momentous moments of the last 18 months (give or take) since I was generously sharing with you. A reintroduction to the familiar ears and a big 'hello, this is me' if you've just found my work. Any great change in life comes with many growing pains, big learnings and of course letting go of a whole lot, all of which were the medicine of 2023. In this episode I fill in the gaps from when I was last here up until Nov/Dec 2023. From moving interstate, to purchasing an online business that later became a retail store, to moving house and our life in Byron, I share it all here. Laced with sweet lessons and bountiful gifts, 2023 was *monumental* in forging a new path for myself and my family. Be sure to stop back tomorrow (if you're listening in real time) for part two episode 96 where I bring you right up to now. To add a deeper layer and for the video montage of this episode, come on over to Substack (a blog like platform for writers) where I give you a deeper look into life. While you're here, tap subscribe/follow on your favourite listening platform, I'm grateful for your ongoing support. Find more on this episode and connect with Kate here.
She's here to bring voice to the stories of women, mothers mostly, so we as a collective can heal and parent with intention, community and curiosity. There is medicine in story and Medicine Mother is the megaphone. I've naturally lived most of my life outside the bounds of what ‘normal' looks like. I'm built this way and naturally skew towards a road less travelled, and what I've learned is with those paths less travelled comes doubt, growth, scarcity, exclusion and that it is built on the foundation of healing my own wounds. It can feel deeply lonely. It would be naive to believe that I am actually alone in this though. In bringing the podcast back to life, I felt that I wanted to shine a light on the paths less walked. Or maybe it's actually the paths less shared. I've never been able to only project a perfect picture of life. It's stupid and boring. Give me raw. Let me get dirt under my nails.Show me the grit. I want to feel what's real. And I want to feel it now, in the belly of my life, not only at the end. I want to know what matters about life, now. Not on my death bed. I know I'm not alone.Let me talk to the women healing linages as they raise their little people. The ones that don't have research reports to show their significance, fan clubs and seven figure months. I want to highlight the stories you don't get to hear. The women in the trenches of life. Reparenting themselves while they burn the dinner. The makers of art. The ones who moved mountains to build lives that matter, but that only they truly see. I want to give space for women to tell their stories of living life. Why they do what they do. How they burnt it all down and built anew. What they regret. What leads them. Their complexities and contradictions. Because when we hear story, it gives us permission. It heals us. It encourages us to connect to our own wisdom and lead our lives down the paths our soul wants us to go. When we don't feel alone we feel braver, more bold. We make the choices we want to make. We sit together in the fear and hold each other through it. And we move god-damn mountains to build lives that we'll toast to on our death bed. LFG! Welcome to Medicine Mother.Find more on this episode and connect with Kate here.

When I see people with big communities begin to talk about the challenges that conception can carry, I feel a kinship. When Lisa began speaking about her fertility challenges, approximately 8 years in, I knew immediately I wanted to speak to her.Not for any other reason than that, I had to know how someone navigates what she has, runs a company, maintains relationships and seems to be relatively well. Having navigated my own experiences with conception and through supporting thousands through the podcast and hundreds through my coaching, I have a pretty fair idea of what it feels like to go through IVF and infertility at it's worst. In our conversation today Lisa shares that sparkly spirit that we all know and see through her social channels, but she also allows us to see the rawness of what she has navigated. From the lowest moments, big financial choices, pregnancy loss and everything in between.Somehow she manages to share the realities of HER story, while also bring lightness, hope and an unwavering resilience that I know we can all learn from. Lisa launched The Messenger Group in 2001, which has custom published more than 400 books for companies and individuals and now releases 40 – 60 products per year globally. Lisa has authored and co-authored more than 36 books and become an authority in the start-up scene. Her passion is to challenge individuals and corporations to change the way they think, take them out of their comfort zone and prove that there is more than one way to do anything. She encourages entrepreneurial spirit, creativity and innovation and lives life to the absolute max. With fans including Sir Richard Branson, New York Times Best-selling author Bradley Trevor Grieve, and a social media following of well over 800,000 across the Collective Hub platforms, Lisa's vision is to build a community of likeminded people who want to challenge the status quo and change the world.I absolutely loved this conversation and I truly cannot wait to hear how Lisa's story, helps support you in yours. If you've ever felt completely overwhelmed by the world of astrology, you're not alone. In this episode I bring it back to basics with my incredibly knowledgeable and very cool friend Kristy Gray. Kristy is an Astrologer and Life Strategist from the Gold Coast. Her career started in Learning and Development in the beauty industry, working for the likes of Clinique and global beauty giant Sephora. A passion for developing people and brands blossomed into a 10-year career, but Kristy was perpetually curious about astrology - she was ‘that girl' in the office who was always asking everyone for their star signs. In 2018, she found herself sitting in front of an award- winning Astrologer who became her mentor, and instantly fell in love with the stars and how they can help you understand more about yourself to make conscious decisions. Five years on, Kristy has become one of Australia's leading Astrologers. Through her signature formula, Astrostrategy®, Kristy combines mystical insights with practical tools to dismantle the uncertainty that's been holding you back. When she's not stargazing, you'll find her at the beach, fantasy novel and green juice in hand. In this episode Kristy walks us through the foundation of our own charts when it comes to living full expressed and aligned as individuals. With her empowering approach Kristy shows us how to navigate the world of astrology with our internal filter switched on. We explore …+ Sun, moon and ascendent and how understanding them will give us an even deeper insight into who we are and what to celebrate within ourselves+ A brief look at the planets and houses+ Whether you have a daytime or nighttime chart and how that can inform the best way that you operate in the world (this is super easy to grasp!) + Your North and South Nodes and how to use these to help you live more aligned and fulfilled Plus so much more! This week I've invited Jacq and Britt of Day One Fertility onto the podcast to help us unpack pre-conception health - with some added info on pregnancy and postpartum too. With 5 children and 20+ years experience in the health industry between them, Jacq and Brit know a thing or two about nutrition, optimising fertility and parenting! But when they first started out, they too felt the overwhelm and lack of credible resources to truly feel empowered by nutrition for fertility. They value evidence based nutrition, and have combined the science with their practical experience as mothers to deliver you a series of in depth courses in nutrition for fertility at Day One. My intention in bringing the ladies onto the show was to help simplify nutrition, which I find can be overly complex when you're trying to get pregnant. In this episode we cover… + What research tells us about how we can improve our chances of conception + Why we need to start planning for conception at least 6 months prior (and so do our partners)+ The 7 things you can implement today to improve your fertility by almost 70%+ Conception supplementation, what's actually needed+ Why our diets are lacking now more than ever, and it's not just about bad food choices+ MTHFR and folic acid+ Simplified nutrition for pre-conception and most supportive food lifestyle for fertility (backed by research) + The different calorie requirements for each trimester including postpartum+ Delicious food ideas to support you to make eating for conception simple I know that this is going to be a well loved episode for its information and clarity, as well as the easy to implement tools. Once you finish listening don't forget to take a moment to leave a five star review on your favorite platform. I deeply appreciate you closing the energetic cycle of giving and gratitude. Alex first dropped into my orbit about 12 months ago when I worked with her in a one off session, as her coach, during her second pregnancy. Naturally I followed her journey through pregnancy and into motherhood with baby number two, and so beautifully we have landed side by side in the same coaching program with my beloved coach Ellie Swift.I've wanted to have Alex on the show for months now but saw the space to honour her energy and that I knew she would have so much to share on this side of birth number two. And of course, what divine timing. Alex is a sensual wealth coach who guides women to connect to their sensuality and unlock limitless exponentiality. Originally from Chicago and an entrepreneur at heart, she left her 'on-paper perfect' corporate fashion merchandising career and moved to Australia in 2018.Fast forward to 2022 – together with her husband & their two daughters on her hip – Alex has built a million dollar soulful product business in under 3 years. Alex has also coached hundreds of entrepreneurs across the globe to build ecommerce businesses, which led her to explore how the mind, body & spirit interact in business and the creation of wealth.Unraveling the connection between her sensuality, motherhood, and wealth has by far been the biggest needle mover in her own business and most importantly, in the lives of her clients. Her mission is to guide women and mothers everywhere to tap into their sensuality & alchemise the abundant lives of their dreams. In today's episode we cover… + What each of Alex's first trimester experiences were like, and how she prepared the second time around. Including how she lent fully into being held and supported as priority. + What each of Alex's birth experiences looked like, and why she chose a new care provider at 40 weeks pregnant.+ How she is feeling as she comes out of the fourth trimester, and where her focus and intention is and how this clarity is serving her to feel embodied at this time+ What Alex learned about herself through the sacred container of birth and how that has more deeply informed her work in the world and her commitment to helping women remember their power+ Why Alex believes we can have it all and how understanding our sacral chakra energy underpins our ability to do this+ Why separating the ‘having' from the ‘doing' is essential for living an embodied and abundant life Plus LOADS more. This conversation was such a joy to experience, and I know that you will feel that through every moment. In this week's episode I speak with Dani of @mydarlinghart. Dani is the kind of human that I watch in awe, knowing that what she has navigated must have broken her in ways most of us will never understand and yet, she manages to shine in the reality of her life and all that she has been through. Dani is a 34-year-old wife and mama, who resides in Newcastle NSW. She has two beautiful daughters; Bonnie Hart in the stars and Inka James, who was born earthside this past Valentine's Day. Dani has poured her heart into a social media space, where she vulnerably shares her journey navigating infertility, baby loss, grief, and motherhood. She has recently found purpose in her pain, starting a volunteer role in Red Nose Australia's new Footprints program. She is passionate about sharing awareness and information (on safer pregnancy programs, safe sleep and bereavement care) and hopes that in the future, no parent will ever have to suffer the heartache of pregnancy or infant loss.In this episode we talk about … + Dani's story of conception and pregnancy with each of her girls + Placental abruption and how that lead to the loss of her first daughter Bonnie Hart + How she navigated that time and when she knew she was ready to begin IVF again+ What pregnancy after loss was like and how Dani was able to move into this next pregnancy at all+ How history repeated itself in the way of another placental abruption, and how she feared the worst+ What her birth was like with Inka James + How motherhood has been since welcoming her beautiful Inka James into her arms+ What she is focusing on now and how we can support other parents navigating the unfathomable loss of an infantDani mentions her work with Red Nose Australia's new Footprints Program and as mentioned on the episode, I want to make mention to this in case you are called to offer support in Bonnie's honour. Finally, you can make a difference and help fund world-leading research and support families impacted by death of a baby or child by making a donation to Red Nose. It's been the longest time since I've recorded a solo episode, and it's so fun to be back here sharing with you in this way. When it comes to conceiving, many of my clients are focused on what they need to add to their lives to get the result they most desire. Supplements, self care practices etc, but often the key is in letting go. What is it that you most need to let go of in order to move closer to what you desire? In this episode I'm sharing the 5 things I regularly support my conception clients to stop doing, so that you can start to make a shift today. The key to moving through all of these is through self care practices. A ritual, a practice of devotion to keep you plugged into your inner wisdom and inner guidance. It's been a big few years, and now more than ever I am seeing fried nervous systems that have been running on auto pilot since 2020.This is your invitation to join me next week across 3 days (21st ,22nd ,23rd June), as I teach you how to regulate your nervous system and create inward connection, all in micro-pockets of time.Stress free conception, pregnancy and motherhood are absolutely in reach.I'll walk you through one micro-lesson each day to help you create an internal shift in just 10 short minutes. I have loved and followed the journey of YCL for years now, but only recently discovered the founder and creative director, Fabienne, on social media. I quickly learned she is a fellow Taurus, I can just pick them! But I also learned that Fabienne's journey to motherhood was a complicated one.I got in touch right away, and I couldn't be happier to be sharing her story with you today. From not wanting to be a mother, to discovering her nurturing side and knowing motherhood would be part of her path, then discovering that conception would be a little different for her and her partner. Fabienne shares with openness and vulnerability, and I know that her story will bring validation to those on their conception path. Fabienne is the creative director and founder of YCL Jewels. She began working in aged care as a nurse when she was 15 and went on to study a Bachelor of Nursing at ACU in Brisbane after Highschool. In 2013 she left her stable career & university degree (just two subjects short of graduating) to pursue her love for jewellery making full time. Fabienne is entirely self-taught in jewellery design and has no formal training in jewellery making or business. Fabienne has dedicated herself to building a beautiful and intentional brand with YCL now exporting to over 100 countries globally, with main international export countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, & Germany. At the time of recording, Fab is 36 weeks pregnant. Back in episode 48 I spoke with Braydan when she shared her heartbreaking story of loss at 11 weeks pregnant while on holiday with her family. In this episode we fill in the gaps in the story, and Braydan shares that at the time of recording she is 30 weeks pregnant with their little miracle babe. Pregnancy after loss is like nothing else, it's such a mish-mash of emotions, and truly requires a day by day approach, which Braydan echo's so beautifully throughout this episode. If you are looking for a story of hope and commitment, and a light at the end of the conception tunnel, this episode will be it. Braydan is self aware, raw, generous in what she shares and a vision for those of us who are still on this journey. What I love about Connie's approach is how anchored it is in our feminine essence, how calm my nervous system feels, and the gentleness in moving through all of the ups and downs of the process. Natalie Rolland is a mother and wife based on the Gold Coast, and owner of Altered Sense. I discovered Nat online when she was about halfway through her pregnancy, and quickly learned that she had a challenging experience to get to that point. I always find it so refreshing when I see women share their truth with such kindness, vulnerability and strength. In this episode Nat and I discuss her experience of fairly straight forward conception x3, followed by three miscarriages, back to back. She talks about her mindset at that time, and how much she was pushing for answers when her Doctor wasn't offering much. Nat and her husband came back with a DQAlpha match, and with the help of Dr Kee Ong (the same Fertility Doctor that has been supporting us) she went onto an immune protocol, and into a medicated IUI cycle. In this episode we talk about that experience, Nat's less than favourable pregnancy symptoms, and how that affected her view of pregnancy, and her incredible birth story. Spoiler alert - her hubby didn't make it!Nat is open, strong and resilient, and I truly admire her ability to move through all that she has in such a short amount of time. She really is a special soul to carry such a lightness about her, after all that she has been through. I was recently speaking about my deepening understanding of the South and North Nodes in our personal astrology chart on Instagram, and it opened up an incredible conversation. These two parts of our chart have so much to reveal to us about our lessons and direction on earth. I have heard of them referred to as ‘our karma and our dharma'. As I have been going deeper into my own North and South Nodes, and what I am learning about myself through them, I naturally wanted to speak with someone on the topic who has a deeper understanding of what they are here to teach us. I knew Tiffany was the person to help us with this! Tiffany Victoria is an Astrologer, Cosmic Channel & Conscious mother of 4. She specializes in Cosmic Timing, Vibrational Mastery and assisting with Soul Awakening, and in this week's episode we unpack parenting and life in this new earth. And you may remember her from Episode 70.We covered a lot in this episode… Our personal North and South Nodes, and what they are here to teach usHow we can see our nodes in our own chartHow our south node can lead us closer to our north nodeExamples from my chart to help you understand what you could learn from yoursThe energy of the collective, and what is happening right now that will be influencing how you are showing up for lifeWhat this current eclipse season is here to teach/reveal to us, and how we can use that energy for our personal growthThe Taurus New Moon on 1st May and the Scorpio Full Moon on 16th May, and what you need to know!Plus so much more. Today's episode is something different to what we've had before. Our guest is a past client of mine whose story I am really excited to share with you. Hayley Williamson is a photographer, and a single mother by choice to her beautiful daughter Neve who was born in august this year. Back in 2018 Hayley was diagnosed with estrogen dominance which led her down a path of balancing hormones and lifestyle. During those 12 months she had also spoken with a GP and gynecologist regarding her AMH levels and had started exploring the process of freezing her eggs. Hayley hadn't been in a serious relationship for 10 years and after mourning the realisation that she didn't have a partner or that ideal family that we're ‘meant to have' she made the decision to do it alone. She didn't want to wait any longer for the possibility of meeting the right person with the added pressure that she knew she wanted to have kids. So she made a plan, and when covid hit she had to re-evaluate what it is she wanted from her life and then made an appointment quite quickly to speak with her fatality specialist. After a lot of consideration and honoring what felt like the best situation for her body, Hayley chose to do an unmedicated IUI cycle with an anonymous sperm donor from the US. In this episode we talk about...Hayleys experience of deciding to go down this path and what it looked like for her What Hayley's conception experience was likeHayley's desire for motherhood and how that progressed over her adult yearsHayley's journey into motherhood and the choice to use a donorHow Hayley supported herself after lossesNavigating postpartum as a solo motherI loved this conversation, and the opportunity to share this beautiful story with you. I trust it will inspire you as it has me to sink deeper into what I truly desire in this life. Find Hayley on Instagram Find Hayley online
Alex has worked in primary schools for the last 10 years as both a classroom teacher and Behaviour Advisory Teacher where she was trained in coaching both parents and teachers in behaviour management strategies. It was through this training, some extensive research and becoming a mum herself (Abel 3 yrs and Ari 9 months) that she decided to start offering Parenting Coaching to parents with children school age and younger. This age is the biggest leap in development and if we can help children with these behaviours before they start school, we can maximise their social emotional learning outcomes as well as academic outcomes.I was so excited to have this conversation with Alex because I know how beautifully simple and supportive her approach is. While we don't yet have another babe on the way, it's something we hope for in the near future, and I learned a lot that I will be able to implement when the time comes. Whether you are introducing a second, third or fourth child (and beyond) this is a must listen for parents wanting to emotionally support their older child/children with the change in family dynamic that begins in pregnancy. Alex is educated and practical in her approach and she completely inspired me to observe Flynn's behaviour in a new light. In this episode we talk about … The biggest challenges families go through when they go from one to two childrenWhat behavioural changes are normal in your older child/children when a baby is introduced and how to support your older child with them What to look out for in pregnancy, and how you can prepare your older child for the babies arrivalWhy your old child may act out when baby arrivesWhat to do if your older child hits or is rough with the babyHow role play can support your child and why you should support itHow to entertain the older child while you feed babyWhy creating a photo book can be incredibly helpful How your older child's needs may vary when baby is introduced, depending on their ageThis episode is so practical, and I know you're going to walk away with so many tips to support your family with your exciting new addition!Find Alex On InstagramFind Alex Online Access the show notes for this episode Buy Me a Coffee in Gratitude Esmi website Esmi Instagram Use code TAPXMAS when you spend over $50 to receive a free mini skin treat (OF YOUR CHOICE) to celebrate the festive season! This episode has been a long time coming, and I'm honestly a little nervous sharing it because it's vulnerable. It's never easy to share about our own personal struggles, but I know that I have such a beautiful community and that it will be landing with you with compassion.I want to add a disclaimer here that whatever your challenges are, that if they are real to you, then that is enough. We don't need to be validated in our struggle. Whether it's harder or easier than someone else's is irrelevant. What matters is how we feel, and how we're moving through it.In this episode I cover…My story with intermittent fastingWeight gain, mindset issues and changes to diet and how I've been healing thatWhat people said to me when I expressed my issues with my weight and energyWhat we need to ask instead as a societyWhat I discovered after I had my hormones tested (it surprised me)The protocol I'm on now and how it's helping me healOther healing modalities that I'm usingWhat I'm focusing on for part two of 2021And lots moreFor more and the links mentioned in this episode, go to the show notesTo circulate an exchange with me, you can buy me a coffee here.
Matrescence is the term used to describe the transition that a woman goes through from the time she decides she wants to conceive and it continues through to motherhood. With an undefined beginning and end, and as a vastly different experience for all women, it can feel lonely, confusing and isolating to learn who we are on the other side of the birth of our child. In this week's episode I speak with Chelsea Robinson. Chelsea is a motherhood therapist, a postpartum doula, a wife and a mother. Like so many other women called to work with women on their journey of motherhood, it wasn't until Chelsea experienced the profound change within herself as she transitioned from woman to mother. Spending several years digging more deeply into her own "becoming Mama", she came across the concept of "matrescence" which unlocked so many doors for her and greatly empowered her in her motherhood transition.Throughout her work with women and mothers, she has continued to see a theme around how much influence society has on what women believe about themselves. She enjoys working with women + mamas to "de-socialize" themselves, taking what works for them while creating themselves as they grow to trust their own beautiful intuition. She now offers matrescence coaching, therapy to women anywhere along their journey of becoming "Mama", couple counseling to expecting/new parents, mama circles and blessings and a variety of other workshops throughout the year.Chelsea believes that not only does it take a village to raise a child, but that it also takes a village to raise a Mama.In this week's episode we cover…+ What is matrescence+ Where Chelsea's passion came from to nurture women through this time in their life+ The rebirth of the women into motherhood+ What does the matrescence experience look like and how can we care for ourselves when we are also learning to nurture our new little babies?+ The role of self care, and the importance of self respect+ How to prepare for matrescence before the baby arrives. IE While conceiving or pregnant+ The one thing she wishes that every woman knew before she embarked on this time+ How Chelsea can support you now if you're in need of a deeper level of guidanceHead to the show notes for this episode to download the worksheet we mention, and to also find Chelsea online. For more on this episode take a look at the show notesTo circulate an exchange with me, you can buy me a coffee here.
