Well, where's an exciting one. A little indie title that few will have heard of, delving into the idea of social anxiety horror: All My Friends Hate Me. Listen to me, Toby and Alejandra gush about this one in part 2 of our themed trilogy. Spoilers await: I highly recommend watching this beforehand! Here's some images to entice. Episode three of series two sees us tackle our most recent film. The Covid-delayed darkly comic and borderline (if not out and out) psychological horror, All My Friends Hate Me by the Toms (Stourton and Palmer). Here's a movie that tackles alienation, anxiety, and (like most good British comedies) the class system. Rob and Guy discuss all those topics, plus the university experience, the leg-up in the industry that is public schools, and of course Sandstorm by Darude. That's not to mention our (kind of) source material, the cringe-core sitcom Siblings, starring Stourton and Charlotte Richie. The quiz scores are starting to take shape as well. Can Rob claw back his two-point deficit, or will Guy pull even further ahead? There's no other way to put it--this was a frustrating one. All My Friends Hate Me has extremely high audience ratings and a good score on Rotten Tomatoes, so maybe we're the weird ones. This movie is advertised as a horror comedy, but we found it severely lacking in both categories. Actually we found this movie lacking every aspect that makes a good movie. Paired with an equally revolting Harry's Cocktail. Rate! Review! Follow! Follow us on instagram @toastyhorror Check out our website toasttoromcoms.com Email us at toasttoromcoms@gmail.com
Welcome back to Film Haven Reviews!! This week we are finishing up our hard to define theme of Modern Murder/New Age Social Commentary movies with the very socially awkward: All My Friends Hate Me (2022)This film was very hard to watch for me, as I feel I related to the main character so much that at times I literally felt his pain and therefore didn't necessarily "enjoy" my time watching it. However, it was techinically a very brilliant movie with an interesting story and great character development. I gave it a 7/10 for being very smart and clever, but falling short of creating an fun movie watching experience. Birthday weekend! Friends reveal old secrets! Unwelcome stranger! This week the boys question everything because, "All My Friends Hate Me"! "All My Friends Hate Me", is a British dark comedy with hints of horror splashed in. It follows a group of old college friends meeting for a Birthday weekend. It's the Anti-"Big Chill". The movie is a psychological piece about paranoia but does it boarder too much on cringe? In TV Corner, "Chapelwaite" is slowly becoming a soap opera and the boys are loving it! And so much more!! A brief review of the dark comedy-drama-thriller All My Friends Hate Me, currently streaming on Hulu. Pete is a young man going to his own birthday party at a house with college friends he hasn't seen in years. There, he's subjected to what seems to be strange and passive-aggressive behavior. He's not sure if his friends are actually hostile towards him or if they're just being playful. You can also read my review at Indie Film World.

Kelsi and Trey analyze the themes of one of the best films of 2022: All My Friends Hate Me. Then, Trey is joined by Tom Stourton for a conversation about his thrilling new film.Conversation with Tom Stourton (01:06:13)All My Friends Hate Me is a brilliant satirical dark-comedy and is the debut feature from director Andrew Gaynord and co-writers Tom Palmer and Tom Stourton (lead actor). The story begins with Pete (Stourton), a self-described leader of his friend group that steadily becomes more unhinged as he goes on a rural getaway trip to visit college friends for his 31st birthday. The throughline of All My Friends Hate Me is paranoid delusions and how a lack of self-reflection can lead someone to self-destruct. The focused themes that bind the throughline are social gathering anxieties, protagonist complexes, class or privilege guilt, and most importantly, repressed emotions. All of these themes build on each other seamlessly and lead to a very relatable identity crisis for Pete.Send requests, questions, and thoughts to our email: extracreditspod@gmail.comPlease rate and review us on your podcast platform!Apple PodcastsSpotifyFollow our Instagram: @extracreditspodFollow our Letterboxd: The Extra CreditsFollow our Twitter: @theextracredits

Today, we welcome writer-producer Tom Palmer to the show! Tom is a dear listener of our show and now that he has completed his amazing debut feature film All my friends hate me (2022), we thought to bring him on and let him talk about his incredible journey of making it. Tom sat down with our hosts, Giles Alderson and Andrew Rodger, to share his insane story about a predatory producer who turned the film's production upside down. He talks about how he suddenly found himself producing the film on his own, raising the finances, pitching, his learnings from all the different struggles of being a producer as well as film festivals, sales and distribution. He also discusses his writing process, mental health, and the importance of good sound and score. Tom went through a trial by fire and succeeded. All my friends hate me is a brilliant film and it's out now. Do go support and see for yourself what is possible. But for now, sit back, relax and enjoy this week's episode inspiring episode with Tom Palmer. ALL MY FRIENDS HATE ME is out in cinemas! Pete is cautiously excited about reuniting with his college crew for a birthday weekend. But, one by one, his friends slowly turn against him. Even if you didn't watch the Oscars last Sunday you no doubt heard about it. History was made. Both good and bad. We try to make some sense of it all.But be warned, some of it will never make sense. But it's fun to talk about. That's for sure! And don't worry, we also managed to watch a few things. First, there's the new limited series "We Crashed" starring Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway. It's about the greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of the world's most valuable startups, and the narcissists whose chaotic love made it all possible. Then there's "Turning Red." It's the latest from Pixar and it's a about 13-year-old girl named Meilin who turns into a giant red panda whenever she gets too excited. It's a metaphor! There's also the Netflix comedy special "Taylor Tomlinson: Look at You." In it, the self assured young comedian talks about struggling with mental health, grief and dating. Did we mention it's a comedy special?. Plus the quirky British series "All My Friends Hate Me" and the new documentary directed by Amy Poehler "Lucy and Desi," which explores the rise of comedian icon Lucille Ball, her relationship with Desi Arnaz, and how their groundbreaking sitcom I Love Lucy forever changed Hollywood. If that isn't enough for one podcast, what is? Anyway, listen in!

He needs her understanding of hieroglyphics to decipher […] The post Freeze Frame: “The Lost City” PG-13, “Infinite Storm” (R), “All My Friends Hate Me” (R) appeared first on KKFI.
