Chris Bailey X3 and Mark Radulich present their The Flintstones and The Flintstones Viva Rock Vegas Review. The Flintstones is a 1994 American family comedy film directed by Brian Levant and written by Tom S. Parker, Jim Jennewein, and Steven E. de Souza based on the 1960–1966 animated television series of the same name by Hanna-Barbera. The film stars John Goodman as Fred Flintstone, Rick Moranis as Barney Rubble, Elizabeth Perkins as Wilma Flintstone, and Rosie O'Donnell as Betty Rubble, along with Kyle MacLachlan as Cliff Vandercave, a villainous executive-vice president of Fred's company, Halle Berry as Sharon Stone, his seductive secretary, and Elizabeth Taylor (in her final theatrical film appearance), as Pearl Slaghoople, Wilma's mother. The B-52's performed their version of the cartoon's theme song, playing cavemen versions of themselves as the BC-52's.The film, shot in California, was theatrically released on May 27, 1994. It received mostly negative reviews from critics but was a box office success grossing almost $342 million worldwide against a $46 million budget. A tie-in promotion with McDonald's was made to promote the film. The movie was originally acquired by New Line Cinema, but then sold to Universal Pictures.A prequel titled The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas was released in 2000. The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas is a 2000 American romantic comedy film directed by Brian Levant, written by Jim Cash, Harry Elfont, Deborah Kaplan, and Jack Epps, Jr., and is the prequel to Levant's The Flintstones (1994), based on the 1960–1966 animated television series of the same name. The film was a box office failure, grossing $59.5 million against its $83 million budget. It received mixed-to-negative reviews, though some critics considered it an improvement over the first film.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsoFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSW Tiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76

She also has POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) and long covid, which saw her barely able to walk for a year and from which she is not yet recovered. In 2019 she set the Guiness World Record for the fastest marathon dressed as a cartoon character, running as Betty Rubble from the Flintstones. This was her fourth Guiness World Record, the others being the fastest half marathon dressed as a nurse; dressed as a superhero; and by a married couple (with her husband Matt). Prior to long covid, Bethany was on the organising committee for a cancer fundraising run associated with Tour de Cure. She has just returned to volunteering with Surf Life Saving Australia, where she tries to provide first aid without ever getting in the water. In this episode Bethany shares: · How she became a world record holder for running after finding her love for park run.· How she is now suffering from long Covid and Pots· The way taking small steps and recognising accomplishments helped her grow.· How her tribe and village have played a role in her recovery· How finding a purpose in life helps progress and recovery· And how it's OK to grieve but being sick is not who you are. She is not sick, she is recovering. Key Quotes “The hardest part with Long Covid is most days you feel terrible at some point. And that continues.” “Finding something that is your thing. It's such a gift in life to have found one particular activity that is your thing.” “At my lowest, my limit was seven metres. Enjoy two horror episodes of Lights Out! w/ Boris Karloff A) 4/26/39 The Devil's Due w/ Arthur Kohl B) 7/16/47 Death Robbery w/ Boris Karloff Lights Out! was the brainchild of Wyllis Cooper. Originating out of the studios of WENR in Chicago, Cooper presented a late-night horror program - heard only in the Midwest - seething with vampires, invisible monsters, evil beings, and survivors of an atomic apocalypse. Several fan clubs sprang up and in 1935, NBC decided to expand its coverage nationwide. A year later, Wyllis Cooper went to Hollywood to pursue a screenwriting career, leaving the program in the capable hands of playwright Arch Oboler. Oboler wrote, directed and hosted the series confining most of the casts to two or three players. His favorite cast members included Lou Merrill, Bea Benaderet (who would later voice “Betty Rubble” on The Flintstones), Joseph Kearns, Mercedes McCambridge and Hans Conried. Oboler employed elaborate sound effects with the stark reality of no music, using only a gong sound for scene transitions. Under Oboler's guidance, the show broadcast psychological chillers with stream-of-consciousness narrative, each featuring an element of classic horror – from giant worms and haunted houses to monsters from outer space. Announcer Frank Martin would often banter with Oboler after the story inquiring as to Oboler's motivation for writing it. The Sterling Drug company was the sponsor (Ironized Yeast tablets and Energine Shoe polish) for the 1942-43 seasons, hosted by Oboler from Hollywood. In the summers of 1945, 1946 and 1947, Wyllis Cooper returned to the fold. His career in Hollywood never really panned out, so he chose to return to his roots. Lights Out! made a transition to television in 1949 hosted by Frank Gallop as a disembodied head introducing and closing each creepy episode.
This week, Brian has an exciting (?) update on the 17th anniversary show. Also: Mike Tyson shortened some young dude's wheelbase; Betty Rubble loved beating rugs; Anderson Cooper has Corona; Updates and Corrections: Is Herb Alpert Straight?; quite possibly the last edition of Leave Yourself Alone (two guys with things stuck in their assholes, AGAIN); a man stepped out of his car during a car wash and died; and a man who had a house full of snakes also “mysteriously” died (with a shocking twist ending). We're excited to have you join us on the latest edition of 90's NOW hosted by Kelly Alexander & Sharon Hyland. This week we talk about Usher and his new role as a judge on The Voice. We also weigh in on when Betty Rubble finally became a vitamin like the rest of The Flintstones back in the 90's as well as a Wayne Gretzky milestone that raised the bar even more for other hockey players back in 1991. Kelly's got you working hard on this week's 90's trivia question and Sharon has you laughing out loud with her "What The Hell was That!" Some great tunes coming your way as well from Shanice, Santana, Usher, Van Halen & En Vogue!
