This episode is about my top tv shows. It was very hard to choose the tv shows because I have too many that I really enjoy watching over and over. Here are them: #10 Heroes Ordinary people around the world discover they have super powers. Their lives intertwine as they work together to prevent a catastrophic future. #9 Fringe FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham is assigned to the bureau's Fringe Division, in which she investigates unusual crimes and occurrences. Assisting Olivia in her investigations are once-institutionalised scientist Dr Walter Bishop, his jack-of-all-trades son, Peter, and FBI Junior Agent Astrid Farnsworth. #8 Chuck Computer geek Chuck Bartowski opens an e-mail that has been encoded, subliminally, with vital government secrets, triggering a massive download of critical information to his brain. With assassins and international terrorists eager to nab Chuck's noggin, it falls to Maj. John Casey and his partner, CIA agent Sarah Walker, to protect the government's newest and most-unlikely secret agent. #7 House At fictional Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey, prickly genius Dr. Gregory House tackles health mysteries as would a medical Sherlock Holmes, all the while playing mind games with colleagues that include his best friend, oncologist James Wilson. House, an acerbic infectious disease specialist, solves medical puzzles with the help of a team of young diagnosticians. #6 CSI: Miami A Florida team of forensics investigators uses cutting-edge scientific methods and old-fashioned police work to solve crimes. Horatio Caine, a former homicide detective, heads a group of investigators who work crimes amid the steamy tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami. #5 The Blacklist For decades, ex-government agent Raymond "Red" Reddington has been one of the globe's most wanted fugitives. But then he agreed to work with the FBI to catch his "blacklist" of mobsters, spies and international terrorists -- on the condition that he must work with profiler Elizabeth Keen. Red's true intentions -- choosing Liz, a woman with whom he seemingly has no connection -- are unclear. Does Liz have secrets of her own? Red promises to teach Liz to think like a criminal "to see the bigger picture," whether she wants to or not. #4 The Big Bang Theory Mensa-fied best friends and roommates Leonard and Sheldon, physicists who work at the California Institute of Technology, may be able to tell everybody more than they want to know about quantum physics, but getting through most basic social situations, especially ones involving women, totally baffles them. How lucky, then, that babe-alicious waitress/aspiring actress Penny moves in next door. Frequently seen hanging out with Leonard and Sheldon are friends and fellow Caltech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. Will worlds collide? Does Einstein theorize in the woods? #3 The Punisher After exacting revenge on the people responsible for the deaths of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs deeper than New York's criminal underworld. Now known as the Punisher, he must dig deep into the conspiracy to discover the truth about injustices that affect more than just him and his family. Assisting the vigilante in his quest to fight criminals are best friend Billy Russo, who runs private military corporation Anvil, and former NSA analyst Micro, who shares common enemies with Castle and helps him as part of a so-called marriage of convenience. #2 Daredevil The first in a planned series of shows detailing the Marvel universe, "Daredevil" follows Matt Murdock, attorney by day and vigilante by night. Blinded in an accident as a child, Murdock uses his heightened senses as Daredevil to fight crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down. While Murdock's day job requires him to believe in the criminal justice system, his alter ego does not follow suit, leading him to take the law into his own hands to protect his Hell's Kitchen neighborhood and the surrounding communities. #1 Arrow When presumed-dead billionaire playboy Oliver Queen returns home to Starling City after five years stranded on a remote island in the Pacific, he hides the changes the experience had on him, while secretly seeking reconciliation with his ex, Laurel. By day he picks up where he left off, playing the carefree philanderer he used to be, but at night he dons the alter ego of Arrow and works to right the wrongs of his family and restore the city to its former glory. Complicating his mission is Laurel's father, Detective Quentin Lance, who is determined to put the vigilante behind bars. The Flash At 11, Barry Allen's life changed completely when his mother died in a freak accident and his innocent father was convicted of her murder. Orphaned Barry later becomes Detective Joe West. Now a crime-scene investigator, his dedication to learn the truth about his mother's death drives him to follow up on every new scientific advancement and urban legend. When his latest obsession - a particle accelerator heralded as a world-changing invention - causes an explosion, it creates a freak storm and Barry is struck by lightning. He awakes from a coma nine months later with the power of superspeed. When he learns that others who have gained powers use them for evil, he dedicates himself to protecting the innocent, while still trying to solve the older mystery. Honory Mentions Weed Supernatural Battlestar Galactica Silicon Valley TrueBlood Game of Thrones Luke Cage

Episode Notes Will there be a Punisher Season 3? With Marvel's deal with Netflix almost at an end (Jessica Jones Season 3 is still on its way) it appears unlikely. But we still have Season 2 to deal with so I sit down with Ian Kerner to talk through the 13 episodes story arch. Right off the bat, I say that Punisher Season 1 may be my favorite Marvel Netflix show... so is Season 2 another bad ass brawl-fest? What's up with Billy Russo becoming Jigsaw? Is Frank in full on Punisher mode when we meet him? Is this season as solid as the first? Where does it rank amongst the other Marvel Netflix shows? And what might be the future for these characters after Netflix? Ian and I do a deep dive through all these subjects so get ready and here is your SPOILER WARNING!Subscribe to Geekscape on iTunes!Follow Jonathan on Twitter and Instagram!Join the Geekscape Forever Facebook Group!Visit Geekscape.net for more Geekscape goodness! This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
The Punisher is back for season 2, and so is The Punisher after show, with hosts Christian Bladt and Xia Anderson recapping episodes 1-3, including that epic bar room fight scene, the tense county jail scenes, the creepy religious former Nazi guy, Billy Russo and much more! Marvel's The Punisher, or simply The Punisher, is an American web television series created for Netflix by Steve Lightfoot, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films and other television series of the franchise, and is a spin-off of Marvel's Daredevil. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios, with Lightfoot serving as showrunner. The series revolves around Frank Castle, who uses lethal methods to fight crime as the vigilante "the Punisher", with Jon Bernthal reprising the role from Daredevil. Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson also star. A television series centered on the Punisher received a put-pilot commitment at Fox in 2011, but that project fell through. In June 2015, Bernthal was cast as the character to appear in the second season of Daredevil. Development on a spin-off titled The Punisher began by January 2016, before the second season of Daredevil was released. In April 2016, Marvel and Netflix ordered the series, confirmed Bernthal --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Learn more about your ad choices. And so we’ve come to the end. Lewis Wilson is dead, his desperate cry for help still woefully unheard by society. William “Agent Orange” Rawlins is dead too, having paid for destroying countless lives (both Afghan and American) with the most gruesome eye-popping demise this side of Game of Thrones. All that’s left are Frank Castle and Billy Russo, and the great unsettled score between them.

Yes, you've seen this episode pop up in your feed already, but somehow the original file that was uploaded was missing about half of the episode. This is the full episode. Sorry about that, guys! Jaime finds out that just because an actor is good doesn’t mean he’s in it for the long haul. Madani is after all the information she can get, and some of that information comes in a very pretty package named Billy Russo. Frank, on the other hand, is chasing down the mysterious Micro to find out who and what this man is before he trusts him. Frank reaches out to Karen, whose hypocrisy is showing a bit in this episode. We say goodbye to Frank’s hipster look while he does his best to evade all the technology that Micro has at his disposal. Micro is clearly brilliant, but who will find whom first? All Krista wants is some diner food.We discuss special ops forces and the reality vs. television with some assistance from an anonymous source of Krista’s. The Punisher Doing What He Does Best This week on the podcast Johnny and Brian are giving their spoiler review of the latest Netflix Marvel Series, The Punisher! The Punisher (2017) Summary Marvel’s The Punisher, or simply The Punisher, is an American web television series created for Netflix by Steve Lightfoot, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films and other television series of the franchise, and is a spin-off of Marvel’s Daredevil. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios and Bohemian Risk Productions, with Lightfoot serving as showrunner. The series revolves around Frank Castle, who uses lethal methods to fight crime as the vigilante “the Punisher”. Jon Bernthal reprises the role as Castle from Daredevil. Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson also star. (Sun., 10/29):The Deuce (s1, HBO)Created by George Pelecanos and David Simon, who also collaborated on HBO's "The Wire" and "Treme," the semifictional drama series "The Deuce" tells of the germination of the sex-trade industry in the heart of New York's Times Square. It's the early 1970s, and the porn business begins a shift from organized crime-backed parlors to a legitimate, culturally accepted enterprise. A cast of barkeeps, prostitutes, pimps, police and nightlife seekers centers around twins Vincent and Frankie Martino (James Franco, in a dual role), who navigate the sex business after meeting well-connected mobster Rudy Pipilo. Their storyline, among others, merges with that of prostitute Candy, whose ambition and intelligence lead her to a more prominent role in the industry. (Wed., 11/1):Liar: Season Finale: (s1, Sundance)Created and written by BAFTA- and Golden Globe-nominated producers and screenwriters Harry and Jack Williams, and featuring "Downton Abbey" star Joanne Froggatt and "Fantastic Four" actor Ioan Guffard, "Liar" tells the story of two people whose initial attraction leads to far-reaching consequences for them and their friends and families. Laura Nielson, a smart and capable teacher in the middle of a breakup, is set up on a date with recently widowed surgeon Andrew Earlham. However, the day after it is apparent that something has gone wrong, and the subsequent fallout rapidly spirals out of control, exposing the power of truth, deception and trust. (Released on Fri., 11/3):Fearless (s1, all 6 total, Amazon)Human rights lawyer Emma Banville takes up the defense of convicted killer Kevin Russell, who's serving a life sentence for the murder of a schoolgirl 14 years earlier. (Sun., 11/12):Vice Principals: Series Finale : (s2, HBO)"Eastbound & Down" creators Danny McBride and Jody Hill team again for a dark comedy series -- no surprise there! -- that may place high school administrators in a wholly different light. McBride and Walton Goggins co-star as vice principals at North Jackson High School, which becomes ground zero for a major power struggle when the principal retires. The rival administrators set their sights on the vacated top spot -- only to see English teacher Dr. Belinda Brown enter the picture. Putting their mutual hate aside, the bitter antagonists form an unholy alliance to bring down the outsider by any means necessary. (Sun., 11/12)Star Trek: Discovery : Mid-Season Finale : (s1, e09, 15 total, CBS All Access; Chapter Two includes the remaining 6 episodes that launch in January)Created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman for CBS All Access, the story of "Star Trek: Discovery" begins roughly a decade before Captain Kirk's five-year mission -- as portrayed in the original "Star Trek" from the 1960s -- and a century before the events of "Star Trek: Enterprise." The series follows the crew of the USS Discovery as they encounter new worlds and civilizations, delving into familiar themes and expanding upon an incident that has been talked about within the franchise's universe, but never fully explored. (Thurs., 11/16):Better Things: Season Finale: (s2, FX)Sam Fox is an actress, who is also a single mother raising three daughters -- teenager Max, eccentric middle child Frankie, and spicy youngest daughter Duke -- in Los Angeles. She also helps to care for her mother, Phil, who lives across the street. In addition to looking after her family, Sam tries to earn a living in the difficult acting industry while having time to have fun with friends and, occasionally, get in some private time with potential mates. In addition to starring as Sam, Emmy winner Pamela Adlon is a co-creator of the comedy series, along with former "Lucky Louie" co-star Louis C.K. (Released on Fri., 11/17):Marvel’s The Punisher (s1, Netflix)After exacting revenge on the people responsible for the deaths of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs deeper than New York's criminal underworld. (Sun., 11/19):Poldark (s3, PBS)This all-new version of the vintage Masterpiece series stars Aidan Turner as Capt. Ross Poldark, a redcoat returning to Cornwall after the American Revolutionary War, only to find his father dead and his true love about to marry someone else. A Mammoth Screen production, the series is packed with action, adventure and romance. Also featured are Eleanor Tomlinson as servant Demelza, Warren Clarke as Uncle Charles, and Heida Reed as Elizabeth Chenoweth. Robin Ellis, who portrayed Ross Poldark in the original adaptation 40 years ago, appears here as Reverend Halse. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The embargo is over and we've seen all thirteen episodes of The Punisher. Join Derek for a quick podcast for our Punisher Season One Spoiler Free Review. Synopsis for our Punisher Season One Spoiler Free Review After blasting his way into Season 2 of Daredevil it wasn’t long until Netflix added to their roster of growing Marvel TV shows by announcing The Punisher was getting his own series. Thanks is no small part to the outstanding performance of Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Baby Driver) it was easy to see why Netflix felt so confident that he could carry his own thirteen episode series. Listen to the Defenders TV Podcast review of The Punisher Episode 1 “3AM” from Friday the 17th of November at defenderstvpodcast.com New episodes will be released every Friday. The story so far Frank Castle went on a rampage to take out the gangs involved in the murder of his family. Nicknamed The Punisher, Castle laid waste to The Kitchen Irish, The Dogs of Hell and his former comrade in arms “The Blacksmith” as punishment for the losses he had suffered. At the end of Punisher’s arc on Daredevil we are left with a number of questions. Schoonover, the blacksmith reveals that Frank might have been responsible for the death of his family and Frank finds a memory card tagged with the very familiar name “Micro”. The New Cast The new cast is where the Punisher really shines. This is a new phase for Marvel’s shows on Netflix and it feels like it. Stand out performances are in abundance here. Unlike Iron Fist it doesn’t take multiple episodes to understand why the storyline is focused on multiple threads. Ebon Moss-Bachrach as tech genius Micro creates an interesting partnership with Frank. Amber Rose Revah as Homeland Security agent Dinah Madani is a well written, complex doggedly determined character. I’ve always been the defender of Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page. She’s used well in The Punisher with some smart use of her history and motivations. Ben Barnes as comic book character Billy Russo brings a great presence to the show. There are other great performances here but I don’t want to spoil any more. Verdict While tied to Punisher’s previous exploits in Daredevil season 2 this feels bigger as it should. The exploration of P.T.S.D., politics, shady covert dealings and yes gun violence isn’t new to TV but is new for the Marvel universe. There are times that feel like Homeland, House of Cards and Generation Kill this is a serious show. I was nervous coming into the Punisher that it was going to be dour, preachy or a slog to get through. Thankfully in the hands of showrunner Steve Lightfoot (Best known for Hannibal) it was constantly compelling. The Netflix trademark end of episode cliffhanger absent since before Luke Cage is back here and I constantly wanted just one more episode. While never boring the show does move into thoughtful contemplation at times. Episode one shows us what the show could have been in the hands of someone else but from episode two the series pivots into a much more complex show. Overall Marvel and Netflix first collaboration on a non powered hero is well worth a watch.
