When California governor Gavin Newsom locked down the state of California during the COVID-19 pandemic, there was one man and one church that stood up against the governmental overreach and opened its doors to the body of believers, John McArthur's Grace Community. Pastor McArthur joins “Fearless” to discuss the upcoming documentary “The Essential Church” which documents the history of governmental interference in the Christian Church. “We live Godly, quiet, peaceable, submissive lives to the government. But, when the government oversteps its bounds, we have to hold the line. Christ is the head of the Church, not Gavin Newsom”. Jason and Pastor McArthur dive into the role of, and lack of, true masculine leadership in the American church and society. And in Tennessee Harmony, Anthony Walker and Virgil Walker join the show to review Pastor McArthur's interview and share their thoughts on his impact and legacy. Learn more about your ad choices. Despite resistance from physicians fearing government overreach, California's Medical Misinformation Bill AB-2098 was passed in the state senate and enrolled on September 1, 2022. If signed into law, discussing the risk vs. reward of Covid treatments with patients could be labeled “misinformation” and put physicians at risk of losing their medical license. The California legislative session for 2021 has come to a close and there is some important information to share about new California laws for 2022 pertaining to Covid 19 and tenants who may have suffered an impact. On this Five Minute Friday, Bob reviews the current status of the Covid Tenant Relief Act and what California landlords and property management companies need to consider before taking action on a tenant for nonpayment of rent prior to March 30, 2022. Disclaimer, we are not an attorney and this by no means is intended to be legal advice or a complete legal review, but rather an overview of those landlord / tenant law changes that seem most important to be aware of during Q1 of 2022.The COVID Tenant Relief Act (CTRA) was initially passed by AB 3088, and was subsequently extended and modified several times in 2021, with the last extension being AB 832. Bob covers a review of AB 832, the creation of the COVID-19 Rental Housing Recovery Act, and steps that landlords need to take if rent is delayed by a tenant and not paid by the monthly due date between from October 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022. Happy reopening day, California! The mask-less shoppers at stores and a packed Dodger Stadium tonight might seem a little weird at first, but these are the images of emerging post-pandemic life.So is it really safe to take off that mask and head back into crowds? And how complicated will it become to verify whether people are fully vaccinated? We'll go In Depth on all of it.And just in time for California's reopening, the CDC issues awarning about the dangers of the Delta variant, which continues to spread around the world.More on the post-pandemic growing pains: COVID continues to spread in Asia and as a result, several major ports have had to stop operations -- which means more delays. Then there's the price of lumber, which had been insanely expensive. In a week that spanned the spectrum, from uplifting (4 million shots a day) to disconcerting (Texas & Florida ignoring science), surprising (Schumer brings a pot bill to the floor) to slimy (Matt Gaetz, do we need to say more?) there was plenty to chew on before taking the Discourse Deep Dive. After a year unlike any other in modern times, we saw enormous voter turnout for both the general and run-off elections. Clearly many people who have never or normally don't vote were moved to cast their ballots. One of the largest demographics was young people, who, in the past several elections, have mostly stayed home.Robin Biro and David Katzner welcome Mitchell Rosenberg, founder of Simplified, a platform that explains the issues in short, palatable bites, to the youth electorate. Mitchell is one of a growing number of youth organizers and activists who are taking the political world by storm. These young up-and-comers will be the new flank of the Democratic party and on this episode, he clues us in to what it takes to get young people involved and keep them activated.

You've probably seen the posts on social media from your loved ones, getting their COVID vaccinations or flashing their vaccine cards. Then you pause for a second and wonder how they were eligible to get vaccinated. And you're pretty sure that person cut the vaccine line. Those who did cut the line have set off some pretty heated debates among those closest to them. Carmel Shachar is executive director of the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology & Bioethics at Harvard Law School. It took a while to get here. But after several missteps, some supply and organizational problems and lots of frustrations, California is just about ready to offer up COVID vaccinations to every adult who wants one. Catherine Flores-Martin is the executive director of the California Immunization Coalition and a member of the California COVID-19 Vaccine Advisory Committee. Two things you've likely been missing over these last few months: vacations and vaccinations. You can head down to the U.S. Virgin Islands, which have a very healthy supply of COVID vaccine doses. Angela East is the coordinator and director of the COVID vaccine program at Plessen Healthcare on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands Krispy Kreme offered up what certainly seemed like a well-intentioned and delicious incentive: bring in proof of receiving a COVID vaccine, and we'll give you a free glazed donut. But the offer set off a sometimes bitter debate among physicians and scientists over using an unhealthy treat to incentivize the healthy act of vaccination. Dr. Uche Blackstock is an emergency medicine physician and the founder and CEO of Advancing Health Equality. She's also a medical contributor to Yahoo News.
