Hear Me, See Me Podcast with Michelle Fairley, Game of Thrones / Gangs of London.Michelle was born in July 1965, in Northern Ireland. As a teenager she attended the Ulster Youth Theatre before moving to Belfast , where she was a member of Fringe Benefit, a repertory company where she acted alongside Conleth Hill, with whom she would later appear in television juggernaut 'Game of Thrones'. In 1986 she came to London and established herself as a considerable stage actress in 'Oleanna 'at the Royal Court, 'Dancing at Lughnasa' at the Old Vic, as Lady Macbeth with the West Yorkshire Playhouse and as Emilia, wife of the villainous Iago in the Donmar Warehouse's production of 'Othello', for which she was nominated for an Olivier award and on the strength of which she was offered the part of the fiercely matriarchal Lady Stark in 'Game of Thrones'. Following that character's demise she appeared in several American television series - '24', 'Suits' and 'The Lizzie Borden Chronicles ' - as well as playing the wife of (Southern) Irish Brendan Gleeson in the epic period film 'In the Heart of the Sea'. In 2015 she returned to Britain to appear in the play 'Splendour' in London and the television series 'Rebellion' chronicling the 1916 Easter Rising. We have a wonderful chat about her career and also her recent visit to our Haircuts4Homeless Knightsbridge where she was a really great contributor to the evening. Infinitum: Subject Unknown Infinitum: Subject Unknown is a 2021 British science fiction film directed by Matthew Butler-Hart. It stars Tori Butler-Hart, Ian McKellen and Conleth Hill. The film was shot entirely on the iPhone during the UK's first lockdown. The Space Brains talk about the techniques and symbolism used by Matthew in what is an experimental type iPhone movie. As a movie shot by one person and staring just one person (other than brief appearances by Ian and Conleth), it acts as a great example of what can be done with a little creativity and knowledge. On today's episode of Talkin' Thrones, we talk about Episode 2 of Season 2, entitled The Night Lands! The 4th of 7 episodes directed by Alan Taylor and written by Benioff & Weiss. Things are starting to get moving in this war of 5 kings. Tyrion makes his first big power play by firing Janos Slynt, Jon finally learns the truth of what happens to Craster's sons, Arya reveals a big secret to Gendry and Theon arrives home for the first time in ten years. Our focus character is somebody who was apart of the show in the first season, but probably not as much as they should have been, Varys, the Spider/Eunuch, portrayed brilliantly by Conleth Hill for all eight seasons of the show. It's all covered here on today's episode of #talkinthrones --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/talkintvpodcastgmailcom/support
Writer, Producer & Director 'Matthew Butler-Hart' & Actress, Writer & Producer 'Tori Butler-Hart' join us on this episode and sit down to chat with host Giles Alderson about their latest feature 'Infinitum: Subject Unknown' a film they made together, just the two of them in the crew during lockdown. Matt and Tori talk about how Sir Ian McKellen came on board and how a tweet from Edgar Wight inspired them to make a movie in the pandemic. They discuss how using locations you know is a must, why they didn't expect to release I;SU and how shooting on an i-phone with no crew can be freeing. They also talk about what Apps and lights they used and how and why they used split screen and old school filmmaking tricks and why shooting with no story boards was liberating. A mind-bending slice of British science fiction, featuring Sir Ian McKellen and Conleth Hill. Jane (Tori Butler-Hart) is trapped in a parallel universe and is forced to find a way to alter her reality before it is too late.
