In our follow up to last weeks Daredevil season 1 episode, we stay in Hell's Kitchen to talk DAREDEVIL SEASON 2! We're not stopping there though as we're also going to discuss the series that connected the Netflix Marvel Series' - THE DEFENDERS. Appropriately so, as Disney+ has these shows categorized as “The Defenders Saga”. In DD S2 we get the introduction of a huge player with Jon Bernthal as FRANK CASTLE aka THE PUNISHER. We also get a shining star in Elodie Yung as ELEKTRA NATCHIOS a huge piece of Daredevil lore. Elektra carries over into The Defenders we finally see Matt Murdock meet up with LUKE CAGE, JESSICA JONES and DANNY RAND aka THE IRON FIST! It's a lot to cover with many worthwhile action sequences and dialogue that delivers! Have coffee as Luke Cage would then join us for this episode!! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jafnpodcast/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jafnpodcast/support

It's finally here - the big crossover we've been waiting on forever, ever since the first season of Daredevil dropped way, way back in... 2015? Jesus, was it really only two years ago? They've done six series in that time? That can't be... OK, well, it feels a lot longer, which is the important thing. This week, Argue The Toss is here to review Marvel's l- no, sorry, I can't get over that. That can't be right. Daredevil came out, like, forever ago. No, it's fine, I'll drop it, but... right? I'm not the only one who thinks this? Anyway, the point is, everyone's three favourite low-tier New York superheroes and Iron Fist have finally gotten together for a battle royale with the villainous Hand, whom you'll know all about if you've watched all of Daredevil S2 (maybe) and Iron Fist (probably not). After two years of build-up, how could The Defenders not be an explosive, high-octane thrillride? Well, listen and find out, 'cause spoiler alert: we spend this whole episode talking about what a disappointment it is.

On the plus side, Donald can put his LA money into a new podcasting setup. Following a very rough couple of weeks, it takes a nice, long episode of Nintendo Free Radio to let the crew decompress. Donald, having run out of fks to give about Langrisser Re:Incarnation -TENSEI- (his review runs down the crimes) for New Business, hits the Sega 3D Classics Collection in search of a good title and actually succeeded. Stephen has some brief mentions including Overwatch's beta, but his big hits are Ratchet and Clank plus Star Fox Zero (+a little bit of Guard from Donald). Austen, nonplussed, completes a long-standing objective before hitting the latest Vita exclusive (for now) Severed and dives into The Magic Circle... with interesting results. Whatcha Watchin opens with a look at life as number 2 with HBO's political comedy Veep, while Stephen takes the law into his own hands with Daredevil (S2). Austen ends up completing a rare tri(de)fecta before running into Tokyo Ghoul and taking in the Ratchet and Clank movie (based on the game based on the movie) and based on box office receipts, he's about the only one. The Feature discussion was going to talk Zelda, but then Nintendo went and lost their damn minds again. Telling E3 where to go (aside from Zelda)? Launching the NX in 2017? Putting Fire Emblem on mobile? A gobsmacked team tries to break it all down. The Mushrooms include the return of the popular "Fun with Preorders" segment, a word about fetishizing crunch, and words of praise for sales. We'll have more to talk about in a couple of weeks, but send us some questions, comments, complaints, etc by responding below, tweeting @nfrpodcast or shooting us an email! This podcast was recorded on May 1 and edited by Donald Theriault.
James Harleman joins David and Richard once again, this time to talk about Season 2 of the Netflix original series Daredevil. Stay tuned for more Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. giveaways starting in upcoming episodes! AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. “THE INSIDE MAN” [03:50] As Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. gets underway for their rush to Civil War and their season 3 finale the series bids farewell to two important beloved characters --- for now --- and Agents Haley and Stargate Pioneer take time this week to discuss the episode as well as Mockingbird and Hunter’s departure. With such an important episode Marvel brings in one of the most experienced directors on the small screen, Michael Zinberg, to make it happen and adds the Executive Producer of Marvel’s Most Wanted as the episode’s writer to ensure a successful transition for Mockingbird and Hunter. SP and Haley assume the transition includes finding out Hunter’s mushroom soup recipe in Marvel’s Most Wanted and SP and Haley also question whether Hunter really is a Ravenclaw at heart (#HarryPotter). SP and Haley also debate whether Bobbi killing the General was out of character. In a very powerful statement Bobbi Morse and Hunter recite a very quick oath that they took to be THE Shield, not necessarily to be part of S.H.I.E.L.D. and voluntarily take the hit to be separated from the team they know and love and this hits SP and Haley right in the feels. As does the “Spy’s Goodbye” at the end. Overall, though, the story was a bit convoluted and jumped the shark in a couple of places such as the President just showing up unannounced in Siberia. The limited fighting that was shown was incredible as always including Daisy and Mockingbird’s back to back fight with the General’s evil dark shifty avatar. SP is happy that the show is showing the Zephyr more but really just wants them to call it The Bus. SP also ran down some of Chloe Bennett’s C2E2 panel as it pertained to the upcoming Civil War that has been reflected in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. all season long. SP and Haley are pleased to meet Malik’s daughter who Haley points out is a One Tree Hill alum. Haley wonders why S.H.I.E.L.D. agents do not show up in any of the 3 Netflix seasons yet. Haley also asks what would happen if SP was confronted by both Mockingbird and Agent 13 at the same time. The segment ends with Haley dishing out the best of the best of the episode’s quotes. "Parting Shots” Directed By: Michael Zinberg http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0956910/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 Written By: Paul Zbyszewski http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1033788/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 Episode Transcripts: http://transcripts.foreverdreaming.org/viewforum.php?f=140 DAREDEVIL SEASON 2 SPOILER-FREE FIRST IMPRESSIONS [24:03] Both Haley and SP made time to watch the second 13 episode Daredevil Netflix season this past week and both agree it was as good for better than season 1. The Punisher was amazing. The fight choreography duplicated season one’s success. However, Elektra was a bit too much like Arrow’s Nyssa Al Gul for SP. Despite this Elektra was an amazing add to the series. And the season ends with definite plots to explore in Defenders or a Daredevil season 3. SP points out the series seems to be headed in the direction of the current Daredevil Marvel Comics run (go check out Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Longbox Edition and listen to Neil’s Mighty Marvel Moment segment for additional information). SP and Haley debate whether season 1 or season 2 was more gruesome. SP brings up the amazing trickery the season had with the episode transitions making you stay and watch another episode while Haley discusses ways to work in bathroom and food breaks. Stay tuned for more detailed information on Daredevil! Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be going through the season episode by episode this summer following the conclusion of season 3 of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Puss Hej!
