Crude Oil tanks as OPEC+ floods the market with product. Russia and Saudi Arabia just did the unthinkable by announcing that they’re increasing output by 411,000 barrels per day starting in June. With demand forecasts going down every day as the world braces for a Trump induced global recession, it’s the exact opposite move from what everyone expected. There’s a hidden market that might crash the economy in 2025. Tariff chaos. Leverage in the Repo Market. A burgeoning liquidity crisis. There’s an iceberg, dead ahead, only we can’t see below the surface to know how big it is. In this episode Max takes a big swing at the existential crisis brewing in the financial markets. Trump’s tariffs, declining economic data and slumping global demand will potentially neutralize half of the Fed’s crisis response arsenal. The logical and expected response to what is shaping up to be a catastrophic summer is the “Fed Put.” In other words, another bailout. But if the Fed looks to expand its balance sheet to accomplish this during a liquidity crisis, will the buyers of U.S. debt show up? Inflation and a weak dollar, frayed nerves in the bond market and more reckless behavior coming out of the White House could cause a run on the big banks and other firms that live in the “shadow repo” market leaving the Fed balancing the world on its shoulders. In this engaging interview, Tom Bodrovics once again engages in a thoughtful conversation with the legendary Rick Rule. Throughout their discussion, Rick underscores the significance of patience, persistence, and the power of people when it comes to thriving in equities. He also champions Warren Buffett's concept of compounding as a vital principle for long-term prosperity. Rick shares his belief that individuals should prioritize self-reliance over reliance on the political system. He cautions against jumping to hasty conclusions based on market narratives. In terms of economic forecasts, Rick expresses concerns about imminent recessions in both the US and globally, advocating that individuals maintain liquidity and top-tier portfolios to navigate market dips. Rick further discusses Warren Buffett's investment philosophies, emphasizing the importance of concentrating on industries in which one is knowledgeable. Rick believes that gold could outperform various other asset classes due to its present insignificant market presence, coupled with Europe potentially distancing itself from the US. He posits that while the US dollar will continue as a reserve currency, it may face challenges from the developing multi-polar world. Rick believes government will generally choose various covert methods of confiscating wealth from the population instead of direct overt action. Methods like inflating the money supply and taxation are far more likely than direct metals confiscation. Rick also voices concerns regarding the banking system's stability given unrealized losses totaling $517 billion and looming debt maturities. He raises issues of insolvency for lenders due to a disparity between long-term assets and overnight liabilities, as well as commercial real estate portfolios. Rick encourages having some bullion as non-correlated cash offering options during tumultuous markets. Lastly, Rick shares his insights on the Canadian and US banking systems, appreciating Canada's banks for higher profitability for shareholders but less favorable conditions for borrowers due to minimal competition. The US market, however, offers a broader selection of financial institutions catering to various clientele as both lenders and borrowers. Rick also highlights his efforts in establishing Battle Bank and the necessity of earning interest on savings. Missing Connecticut Mother Jennifer Dulos Declared Legally Dead Ahead of Ex-Partner's Girlfriend's Murder Trial

Jennifer Dulos, a Connecticut mother of five who went missing in May 2019, has been declared legally dead. The news comes just days before the trial of Michelle Troconis, the former girlfriend of Jennifer's estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, who is facing charges related to Jennifer's disappearance and presumed murder.    Jennifer Dulos was last seen on May 24, 2019, in New Canaan, Connecticut, after dropping her five children off at school. Although her body was never found, evidence of her blood in her garage and other locations led the state medical examiner to classify the case as a "homicide of violence." Jennifer was in the midst of a contentious divorce and a bitter custody battle when she vanished.    Authorities alleged that Fotis Dulos, her estranged husband, was responsible for her disappearance and subsequent presumed murder. They further asserted that Michelle Troconis, his then-girlfriend, conspired with him, created an alibi, assisted in cleaning up after the crime, and helped dispose of evidence.    Fotis Dulos was charged in January 2020 with felony murder and kidnapping in connection to his wife's disappearance. Tragically, he died by suicide at his home while free on bail a few weeks later. Meanwhile, Michelle Troconis faced charges of conspiracy to commit murder, tampering with physical evidence, and hindering prosecution. Her trial, which has faced numerous delays, is now set to commence.    Last October, a probate judge granted a request by Gloria Farber, Jennifer Dulos' 88-year-old mother and guardian of her children, to declare Jennifer legally dead to protect the family's assets. While Connecticut state statutes typically presume death after seven years of being missing, the judge concluded that Jennifer's case was an exception, stating that the "inescapable conclusion" is that Jennifer Dulos is dead.    At the time of her disappearance, Michelle Troconis was residing in the Farmington home that Jennifer and Fotis Dulos had once shared before Jennifer moved with their children to New Canaan and initiated divorce proceedings. Jennifer had also sought an emergency custody order, expressing her concerns for her family's safety, believing that Fotis was capable of taking their children and disappearing.    Despite court orders granting Fotis visitation with the children, he defied these orders by allowing Troconis and her daughter to be present during their meetings. This led one judge to criticize Fotis for exposing the children to Troconis and her daughter, disregarding prior court orders and the impact of his actions on the children.    Michelle Troconis has maintained her innocence and pleaded not guilty to all charges. Her attorney, Jon Schoenhorn, previously described her belief that the Duloses' divorce was "amicable" when she moved in with Fotis.    During the investigation, police stated that Michelle Troconis confirmed being a passenger in Fotis Dulos' truck, which was seen in surveillance videos showing him disposing of plastic garbage bags in several trash receptacles in Hartford on the evening Jennifer Dulos disappeared. Troconis claimed she was "on the phone" and not paying attention to Fotis Dulos' actions during that time.    In those garbage bags, investigators found numerous items soaked in Jennifer Dulos' blood, including clothing, cleaning supplies, and zip ties. DNA evidence linked Fotis Dulos to these bags, tape, and a glove, while Troconis' DNA was found on one of the bags. Police also noted that Fotis and Troconis had spent hours shuttling between their home and another property, claiming to be cleaning, on the same day.    Kent Mawhinney, a longtime friend and former attorney of Fotis Dulos, is also facing charges related to Jennifer Dulos' disappearance. He, too, has pleaded not guilty and may be called to testify for the prosecution during Troconis' trial.    As the trial begins, Jennifer Dulos' family and friends have issued a statement, emphasizing the importance of focusing on Jennifer, who left behind five children. They seek accountability and answers in a case that has garnered significant attention. The trial is anticipated to last between six to eight weeks as the legal proceedings unfold. Missing Connecticut Mother Jennifer Dulos Declared Legally Dead Ahead of Ex-Partner's Girlfriend's Murder Trial

My Crazy Family | A Podcast of Crazy Family Stories

#RafiFarber - The End Game is Dead Ahead The bond market continues to collapse as long term interest rates rise relentlessly, day after day. Oil is mysteriously trading together with the dollar index instead of inversely, signaling that the forex market is spinning off into its own compartmentalized reality while prices for real stuff in the real world march higher completely independently of so-called "dollar strength". Meanwhile, in New York, nearly 5 million ounces of silver are taken off the market from the JPMorgan vault this week. At this rate, JPM has only about 5 months of silver supply left to sell. And while this is all happening, gold and silver prices continue their abysmal plunge. That said, silver mining stocks have never been this oversold relative to the metal itself. This sort of exceptional price action typically happens just prior to a major financial crisis. Rafi Farber believes the End Game for the dollar is dead ahead. We are nearly there. BENNETT YELLIN Born and raised in Los Angeles, Bennett received his B.A. in fiction from U.C.L.A.  Still not ready to enter the real world, he enrolled at UMass in Amherst for an M.F.A. in fiction. It was there — on the first day of school — that he met and befriended Peter Farrelly. On a lark, they tried writing a comedy together and this spec script ultimately got into the hands of Eddie Murphy and the Zucker Brothers, creators of Airplane and The Naked Gun. Both Murphy and the Zuckers asked the duo to write movies for them, and their career was off and running. Yellin wrote exclusively with Peter for years until they asked his brother Bobby to join them. The three went on to write a number of unproduced features together until they created Dumb and Dumber in 1994 and reunited in 2014 to co-write the official sequel chronicling the further idiotic adventures of Harry and Lloyd, Dumb and Dumber To. In 2007, the Farrelly Brothers branched out on their own and Yellin partnered with James Robert Johnson to create a professional writing duo that has endured for sixteen years. Among the plethora of projects they've tackled during their career — some produced, others not — the two have co-written Let's Scare Jessica to Death for Paramount Pictures, the Fox situation comedy Unhitched, the direct-to-DVD thriller Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead, Paramount Pictures' Hotel For Dogs 2, the Anchor Bay action-thriller In the Blood with Gina Carano, the 20th Century Fox family film, Santa's Little Helper, and the Warner Brothers re-boot of the Police Academy series, Police Academy: Takin' it to the Streets. More recently, Yellin and Johnston have co-written a live action family stage show adaptation of the hugely popular Angry Birds IP, and the two are currently at work creating an original pilot for a new animated show.Bennett's Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/bennett.yellinPhoto: Copyright Wilkinson/2023Opening and closing music courtesy the very talented Zakhar Valaha via Pixabay. To contact Wilkinson- email him at BecomingWilkinson@gmail.com

Tom welcomes back Michael Pento, President and Founder of Pento Portfolio Strategies, to the program. Michael discusses how the bear market is here to stay, and the next phase is coming. We've only experienced the opening salvo. Wall Street will soon realize that earnings are in decline. We're in a global recession with hawkish global central bankers. The market bottom might be around 3300 on the S&P but that is optimistic. Total equity valuations remain considerably overvalued, and they need to correct to fair value. The yield curve is more inverted than any time in the last forty years. This normally signals recession, and this time is no different. The Fed is buying all the assets, causing interest rate repression. There is no mystery as to the causes of inflation, it's money printing. The Fed has to raise rates to four percent by March 2023. Michael says, "The fact the Fed thinks they can get to four percent and do 95 billion a month in QT is asinine." The Fed is having a very difficult time controlling inflation, and now they don't care what happens to the economy. They cannot pivot, they have to regain credibility. This will be one of the deepest recessions we have ever seen. The Fed really has no clue about anything, especially the causes of inflation. There has been almost no job creation this year. We're seeing inventories build, which is boosting Q3 GDP, but that won't last. Inflation is a massive embarrassment to the Fed, but they will destroy the economy and markets to accomplish it. Government is fighting inflation by giving away more money and cancelling student debt. More money isn't going to make college more affordable. They are just creating more demand for services, which will just cause prices to rise further. Subsidies do not fight inflation. We need to increase the supply of goods and services by improving productivity. We've done everything we could to kill productivity through the pandemic. Tax receipts always fall in recession, and debt service payments are increasing quickly for the government. The national debt is skyrocketing, and a fair interest rate would probably be in double-digits. There are no easy answers in the current system. The negative effects of the rate hikes have barely begun to be felt. Inflation always peaks during recession, don't listen to the pundits who claim we've peaked. The four horseman of the economic apocalypse are cash, U.S. sovereign debt, the dollar, and shorts. If you own those four things, you will probably not lose money in this bear market. You might even make money. It's clear we're heading to a liquidity crisis. You want flexibility in this environment. When rates and the dollar begin to fall sometime in 2023 you will see gold rally. A week or so ago, the selling action in the stock market had grown so bad that a number of folks thought a crash was back on the cards. It started to feel like that again this week. But crashes are rare events. They don't come along very often. The 21st century has seen two so far. That's rather a lot by the standards of the previous century, when there were perhaps five or six in the US over the course of 100 years – 1907, 1929, 1937, 1962, 1987 and 1990. It depends how you define crash of course. You could argue there were just three. The probability is, then, that if you forecast or expect a crash, you are going to be wrong. Even the great short sellers who made fortunes during crashes – Jesse Livermore in 1929, Stanley Druckenmiller in 2008 – will tell you that 90% of their fortunes were made on the long side, especially in growth stocks. (That's what Druckenmiller says, at least).Yet, a bit like ghosts and UFO landings, crashes make for good copy. Predicting crashes gets you lots of clicks and lots of followers. I think we all have an innate obsession with them. The thought of a crash and losing everything lingers at the back of every investor's mind, the worst-case scenario. But, as I say, selling pressure got so extreme a week or so ago that it really started to feel like a full-on crash could be on the cards. Stock markets rallied a bit, then sold off again, then rallied. The pressure might have eased, but I can tell you, I was feeling the heat, and I bet you were too. What triggered me was a recollection of 2008, when markets had been in abject decline for some months, but the oil price kept rising. It made its way all the way to $150 a barrel, or thereabouts, in July of that year, before capitulating along with everything else by the autumn. It occurred to me that something similar wass happening this year. Markets generally were declining, while the oil price kept on rising.Oil price surges are driven by genuine demand, but there is always a lot of hot speculative money in there as well, which means the rises and the sell-offs can be a bit more racy than perhaps they otherwise would be.What previous crashes can tell us about what might happen nextIn any case, history often rhymes, as the saying goes, and humans will always be humans with the same psychology, and so there is some value to fractal patterns – that is, looking for similar price patterns from different periods – if you are looking to ascertain how likely certain outcomes are.I spent some time at the weekend comparing the price action of various asset prices in the lead up to the crashes of 2000 and 2008 – the S&P 500, gold, copper, Brent crude and the long bond – compared to the price action of late.I'm not going to post a chart as there are too many squiggly lines, and it's confusing. But the sequence has been as follows: bonds made a high at the beginning of December 2021, then relentlessly declined. Stock markets (S&P 500) peaked at the beginning of January 2022, then relentlessly declined. Brent, gold and copper all peaked in March, with gold and copper all going into relentless decline. Oil then had another rally and peaked in early June. Now we are having a bit of a relief rally in stocks. So to summarise – bonds, then stocks, then precious and base metals, then oil. Then relief rally in stocks.Turning to 2008, bonds rallied, as everything else crashed, so there is no correlation. But otherwise the sequence is similar. Stocks peaked in October 2007, then gold and copper peaked in March 2008. Gold then fell, but copper had another rally, eventually peaking with oil in July. Then they began their fall. Stocks had a relief rally for a couple of months. Then in September we went into global free fall.Bonds aside then, the sequence is similar enough to be concerning. As for 2000, bonds peaked over a year ahead of stocks, declined, but then rallied as stocks fell.Gold peaked six months ahead of stocks – which peaked in March 2000. (Gold was at the end of its worst bear market ever, so I am not even sure comparisons are valid here). But then copper and oil peaked shortly after stocks re-tested their highs in October 2000.So leaving aside bonds, there is a definite sequence of stocks peaking, followed by base metals and oil a few months after, then the big declines. We are following a similar sequence now. Sentiment is so low, and markets so oversold, there is a part of me that thinks we have already seen the low. But I'm also conscious that a relief rally in stocks now, with weakness in metals and energy, is worryingly close to the 2008 crash template, and to an extent the 2000 template. So stay defensive. Maybe not time to bet the house just yet.  This is a public episode. If you'd like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit www.theflyingfrisby.com/subscribe

Tom welcomes a new guest Chris Rutherglen. Chris has a Ph.D. and is a Semiconductor Engineer and has an interesting approach to cycle analysis of the gold price. In 2003 he became interested right out of university in metals. This was around the 2003 cycle low for gold. This led him to value investing. After graduate school, he obtained his CFA Levels. Chris explains his interesting charting approach to projecting the future price for gold by contrasting it against money supply and annual mine supply. These levels give you a reference benchmark and seem useful for judging resistance levels and timing the market cycle. Understanding the growth in the money supply is key. He shows several charts of gold's historic price along with the percentage gains. There are two key cycles of 7.5 years and 15 years to watch. Chris notes that the biggest performance gains are likely to occur on the way to $3000+ gold. He expects a strong move upwards during 2022 and 2023 then a significant pullback which will become another great buying opportunity. Chris details his thoughts on the dollar and where it could go during its three and fifteen-year cycles. There doesn't appear to be much strength left in the dollar and we should be in for a further decline soon. The mid-point of this decade is a likely target for gold reaching its high. Lastly, he details his thoughts on Comex gold futures including deliveries and premiums.
