My guest for this episode is a physiotherapist by training who went on to be a Vice President at a national health care company and has recently pivotted to share his knowledge and level the playing field, supporting smaller businesses in maximizing their potential. This conversation with Gary Thorne will get therapy business owners thinking about how they can create transferable value in their business, ultimately converting that business into something that can be sold instead of closed with retirement. This episode is for any therapy business owner, even if they're many years away from closing. Check out Gary's blog post on creating a maximum value exit plan. If you're a business owner in any stage of your developpement and don't know what's next, book a free consultation with Gary on his website or reach out via his LinkedIn. If you love The BRAVE OT Podcast, I'd be so grateful if you'd tell a friend, post about it, tag me or leave a review on Apple Podcasts. Thanks for listening! P.S. I hope you can forgive the sound quality on this one and hear the great info shared!
It's a special Rosh Hashanah episode of Take A 20! The boys return from their summer hiatus to ring in the new year with legendary broadcasting voice Gary Thorne. Gary was on the mic for the 2003 ALCS between the Red Sox and Yankees, and he relives the drama of that epic series, as well as other moments from his remarkable career. Sit back, dip your apples in honey, and try to say nice things about Aaron Boone (although he definitely does not deserve it!).
March 27, 1986. Decades before pitch clocks and bigger bases, Peter Ueberroth, the Commissioner of Major League Baseball, has to make a decision. He knows he's going to upset players and fans, but something has to change. The World Series, the biggest baseball stage, should be fair for both sides. They need to play by the same rules. With all the MLB rule changes coming this year, we're taking a look back at the constant adjustments the game has made to be more competitive, more popular, and more fun. If baseball is always changing, why is everyone annoyed when changes happen? And how do the rule changes in 2023 fit into the history of America's pastime?Special thanks to our guests: Anthony Castrovince, MLB.com columnist and MLB Network contributor; Steven Goldman, consulting editor of Baseball Prospectus and host of "The Infinite Inning," a baseball history podcast; and Gary Thorne, longtime MLB broadcaster. EPISODE 76: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: New leak to Washington Post clearly confesses Trump stole documents, but insists he didn't do it for evil reasons, he did it for EGO. He's not a TRAITOR! He's just a hoarder! He's not a foreign spy who might face the death penalty. He's just a collector! He's like YOU: YOU'D keep a White House cocktail napkin wouldn't you? So HE kept a White House Ultra-Classified Document (or 200 of them) (3:28) This transparent attempt to minimize the charge and the sentence again suggests it's not only unbelievably bad for Trump but it's far worse than we could possibly imagine. (6:30) "He seemed motivated by a more basic desire not to give up what he believed was his property," the Post writes, and suddenly I'm watching Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck breaking into the den of the 40 Thieves and Daffy sees all the diamonds and gold and screams "IT'S MINE! DOWN, DOWN, DOWN! GO, GO, GO! MINE, MINE, MINE!" He's not Julius Rosenberg! He's Daffy Duck! (9:35) The Guardian also reports evidence secret documents were mixed with post-presidential letters in Trump's desk drawer. What collector doesn't do THAT? (10:15) Trump still scheduled to formalize his 2024 candidacy today, even as a London paper reports Murdoch called him personally to withdraw support. B-Block (16:08) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Spaghetti, again (16:58) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Not only did Katie Hobbs win, but she was right about not debating Lake. And we need to worry about the phenomenon of not just TV types, but TV newscasters, seeking office. Plus Jay Leno is recovering and he's nicer than you know, and NBC suspended the reporter who ran the fake Pelosi conspiracy theory (21:31) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Virginia's hypocritical lieutenant governor takes on Elon "Bloatware" Musk and Herschel Walker attacking how Senator Warnock is raising his kids, for the dishonors. C-Block (25:00) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Not one but two of my ex-ESPN colleagues entered the media wing of hockey's Hall of Fame last night. One saved my scoop about the retirement of Mario Lemieux, and the other was in the booth the night New York player Sergio Momesso was called "Sergio Mimosa."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Steve interviews Sean McDonough(00:11:05) from ESPN and the Red Sox radio network. Sean is with us to discuss his new role as PBP1 on ESPN's coverage of the National Hockey League. Sean talks about his love for hockey, how he was considered for and ultimately landed the job, and what he needs to do to build his chops back up. Sean also talks about working practice games with his partners, his bucket list, and gives due respect to Gary Thorne and Doc Emrick. Finally, Sean talks about the AL Wild Card game at Fenway Park between the Yankees and the Red Sox. Sean called the game and talks about balancing three sports, the Aaron Judge play at the plate, and the early exit of Garrit Cole. Also, Rob Miech (00:51:37) from the Chicago Sun-Times joins us to talk about the rise of sports gambling. First, Rob and Steve talk about Steve's recent passion for Italian soccer on the international and club level. Next, Rob talks about writing about sports gambling for the Chicago Sun-Times. Finally, Rob and Steve discuss Bryce Harper and his lack of Championships. Steve starts the show with a hey now from his sweet guest host, Paula Bennett and they talk about her first few weeks of school. The book club has a new book and a strong maybe. Doug Williams and Keith Hernandez are back with a new episode of the Shea Anything podcast presented by Verizon, as the Mets get ready for a huge homestand following an up and down trip through Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Doug and Keith discuss Gary Cohen's comments about Skyline Chili in Cincinnati, what is was like calling crazy games against Pittsburgh with Gary Thorne, the struggles of Edwin Diaz, and the possible emergence of the Mets offense. The guys also look at what the Mets need to do ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline, and spoiler alert – it's pitching help!
The dirtiest C-word you can utter as a Mets fan is "cuncel" and people are throwing it around like it's nothing! Yes, the team lost their 2nd half opening series to the Pirates and YES, Lindor and deGrom are both injured, but you can't be out here Cunceling da Saeson up 2 games in the division! Positive K opens up the show breaking down why the team isn't done yet and why fans should remain high on the team despite the awful opening. You know there's been a seismic shift in culture when Kevin Francis Clancy is the guy that needs to talk people off the ledge. We lay out what needs to happen the rest of the way through for the season to be deemed a success, what the front office should be looking for at the trade deadline and we're officially back on deGrom watch until he gets the "all clear." The guys wonder what everyone's fascination was with Gary Thorne this weekend, Clem provides an update on the state of the 96ers and we stand with our guy Stro and tell all the haters to kick rocks. Let's be clear, we're not in the best of situations at the moment, but WE STILL HAVE TIME. This could all just be a blip in the grand scheme of things and it's certainly a blip in terms of the franchise's trajectory with Uncle Stevie taking a buzz saw to everything that was Wilpon before him. So sit back and chill cause ya gotta believe.
Mets return for 3 games vs Pirates this weekend as the big three will start, keys to winning the division, Carrasco pitches in Brooklyn, offense needs to click in second half, Keith returns to booth with Gary Thorne tonight. Mets score 11 in 6th vs Cubs on this date in 2006, Jeopardy, Trivia and what's going on in the group. Enjoy! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/stan-phillips8/support

That's more like it. The Yankees finally looked like the Yankees and beat up the Orioles (like they always do) in a 7-1 win. Aaron Judge hit a solo home run, Giancarlo Stanton hit a grand slam, Aaron Hicks got on base and Jordan Montgomery gave the bullpen a rest with six innings. It was the best kind of Yankees win: no frustration, disappointment and no moments of high intensity moments. A nice, easy win. After the recap, Eric Arditti of Barstool Sports joined me to talk about the state of the Orioles, when they will be good again, their last window from 2012-16, the departure of Gary Thorne from the broadcast booth and the careers of Nick Markakis and Matt Wieters.

Host Connor Newcomb gives the latest update on the Gary Thorne situation as it now looks like he will not appear on any MASN broadcasts in 2020. Now the question becomes: will he ever call an Orioles game again? Connor applauds the Orioles new, younger broadcasters, but questions the decision to put Scott Garceau on the air, and gives the case for why Thorne deserves better. Plus, Connor looked up how many different left fielders played next to Adam Jones in his time with the Orioles, and it was a lot. It's #WouldYouRatherWednesday. But before we get to that, Glenn's losing his mind a little. Why are national MLB writers suddenly so angry about the Orioles...having the most logical rebuilding plan imaginable-the same one the Astros literally JUST used! This is really weird. But #WouldYouRather the Ravens give up Jimmy Smith, a first rounder and a fifth round pick for Jadaveon Clowney or no, that's just entirely too much? Late in Hour 1, we checked in with the great Gary Thorne (MASN Orioles play by play voice) after what's been a doozy of a week for him calling the Orioles' messes against the Yankees. Early in Hour 2, PressBox Ravens beat writer Bo Smolka checked in to preview tomorrow night's preseason game against the Packers as well as to discuss Patrick Mekari's place in the left guard battle, Jimmy Smith's future and more.
