Dobro jutro, dragi poslušalke in poslušalci, današnjo duhovno misel bom začela s kratko pravljico. Za to imam najmanj dva razloga: ker imam rada pravljice in ker v njih navadno zmaga dobro. To, da se v pravljicah dogajajo neverjetne, samo v domišljiji mogoče stvari, bom spregledala. Ne nazadnje je prav živa domišljija tista, ki nam v težkih preizkušnjah, trpljenju in nesreči pomaga, da preživimo. Nekoč je živel kralj, ki je bil zmeraj bolan. Imel je devetindevetdeset bolezni in vsi zdravniki so rekli, da mu ne morejo več pomagati. Eden izmed njih pa je dejal: »Če bi se našel človek, ki ni bil nikoli nezadovoljen, temveč zmeraj z vsem zadovoljen, in bi kralj oblekel srajco tega srečnega človeka, bi odšlo od njega vseh devetindevetdeset bolezni.« Kraljevi sli so se razšli po vsem svetu in iskali človeka, ki ni bil nikoli nezadovoljen, temveč zmeraj z vsem zadovoljen. Iskali so ga, a zaman. Nekega dne pa je eden izmed kraljevih hlapcev prišel na velik travnik in tam zagledal bosonogega, razcapanega človeka, kako spi pod drevesom in se v spanju nasmiha. To bi bil lahko srečen človek, si je dejal in ga zbudil. »Hej, človek, zbudi se! Ali si zadovoljen na svetu?« »Seveda sem zadovoljen, zakaj ne bi bil?« je odgovoril popotnik. »In še nikoli nisi bil nezadovoljen?« »Še nikoli. Le zakaj naj bi bil nezadovoljen?« »Torej pojdi z menoj k našemu kralju!« »Le zakaj?« »Dal ti bo na kupe denarja.« »Le čemu? Saj ne potrebujem denarja.« Slednjič se je popotnik vendarle dal pregovoriti in je šel s hlapcem na kraljevski dvor. Ko ga je kralj zagledal, se je razveselil. »Brž mi daj srajco,« je ukazal. »Zakaj?« »Ne vprašuj! Sleci suknjič, potegni s sebe srajco in mi jo daj! Dobil boš zanjo kup denarja!« Srečni človek je slekel suknjič, toda joj, pod njim ni imel srajce. Ko je bolni kralj to videl, je globoko vzdihnil in umrl. Srečni človek pa je spet ogrnil svoj suknjič in odšel. Raziskave o sreči kažejo, da nas denar osrečuje, vendar le do neke mere. Če smo revni, nas bo dotok denarja osrečil, če pa smo premožni, zaradi njega ne bomo še srečnejši. Imeti ga moramo ravno dovolj, sicer pa je sreča odvisna od drugih dejavnikov. Še najmanj od srajce. Junak iz pravljice je bil zadovoljen in srečen brez nje. Nesrečni kralj pa si je verjetno tudi zaradi večnega nezadovoljstva nakopal katero izmed devetindevetdesetih bolezni. Čeprav je imel denar, si zdravja in srajce srečnega človeka ni mogel kupiti. Srečo lahko definiramo na več načinov. Ena najsplošnejših (filozofskih) definicij je, da je sreča popolna zadovoljitev in odsotnost vsakršne želje. Ljudje srečo razumejo različno, glede na zunanje okoliščine, ki vplivajo na življenje in občutek sreče, sami pa nanje velikokrat ne morejo vplivati. Zato vam to jutro želim, da bi v svojih dušah našli mir in sami spoznali, kaj je sreča (prim. Žal 3,17).
