[School of Movies 2024] Fixed the title on this one, to both distinguish it from 2021s Godzilla vs. Kong, AND to give the rightful prominence to the Great Ape whose movie this most definitely is. Willow suggested the original title would be as misleading as "Loki x Thor: Ragnarok". This is my favourite of the new MonsterVerse films, by a narrow margin, considering Godzilla II: King of the Monsters is still absolutely magnificent. Just like that 2019 entry, it's also one of my favourite films of the year, for reasons I will elaborate upon in depth here. Rejoining us for this Hollow-Earth saga of deposing one of several gorilla dictators we've seen on the big screen this year is the chap who knows more about kaiju films than I know about not treading upon the sensitive tootsies of Godzilla fans, who will hopefully be happy to hear we will be back next week for the incredible new Japanese film, 'Minus One'! Es ist Zeit für ein Duell. Vor kurzem ist Godzilla vs. Kong auf HBO Max gestartet und wir hatten die Gelegenheit, das Gekloppe schon zu schauen. Passend zu diesem Anlass stehen die Zeichen daher in der aktuellen Folge von Ruhe im Saal auf Versus. Onno, Phil und René kämpfen sich durch das komplette MonsterVerse und behandeln dabei chronologisch das gesamte Franchise. So duellieren sich Phil vs René bei Edwards Godzilla und direkt danach prügeln sich Onno und Phil durch Kong: Skull Island, während sich für Godzilla II: King of Monsters Onno und René in den Ring begeben.Um am Ende zumindest etwas entspannt aus dem Podcast zu gehen, gibt es noch eine spoilerfreie Meinung zum frisch veröffentlichten Godzilla vs. Kong, der zwar leider in Deutschland noch nicht bei Sky zu finden ist, mit etwas technischem Wissen aber dennoch legal bei HBO Max geschaut werden kann. Hej vänner! I dagens avsnitt är det mest Matte som håller låda då Tom är inne i vad han kallar för "film-depression". Så när den ena av oss ligger på latsidan steppar den andre fram. Matte har hunnit varit på bio hela två gånger, sett en serie och varit på Mallorca en vecka, vilken kille. Matte ger sina tankar om uppföljaren Godzilla II: King of the monsters. Har de tagit till sig av kritiken om att det var för lite Godzilla i första filmen? Aladdin får tummen upp även om en karaktär inte håller måttet och Matte gillar ändringarna som gjorts i manus så den blivit lite modernare. Netflix filmen Rim Of The World vars handling och trailer fick oss båda att vilja se den visade sig inte hålla måttet, vi går igenom en massa fel, produktplaceringar och dåligheter. Men kan det vara så att det var så dåligt så det blev bra? Vi verkar komma fram till att detta är en film ni måste se, inte för hantverket utan för att kunna prata om den. Avsnittet innehåller också Mattes recension av HBO serien med det högsta betyget, Chernobyl. Tom avslutar med ett överraskande uttalande... Det och en massa nyheter och spekulationer. På återseende!
