Heading into their Week 10 bye on November 7, 2025, the Cincinnati Bengals sit at 3-6, a record that masks a tale of two teams: an offense firing on all cylinders under Joe Flacco's steady hand, and a defense that's not just bad—it's etching itself into the annals of NFL infamy. Paul Brown Stadium buzzes with cautious optimism for the attack, but the back end's collapse has fans dreaming of duct tape and prayer. Joe Flacco, the 40-year-old bridge quarterback thrust into the spotlight amid Joe Burrow's latest injury woes, has been nothing short of revelatory. In six starts, he's posted a 105.2 passer rating, slicing defenses with a 71% completion clip and 12 touchdowns to just three picks. His pocket presence—honed from two Super Bowl runs—has unlocked the Bengals' weapons. Ja'Marr Chase is a one-man highlight reel, scorching secondaries for 1,100 yards and nine scores, while Tee Higgins' midseason return has added a vertical terror, averaging 18 yards per catch. The run game? Revitalized, with Chase Brown pounding out 650 yards at 5.2 per carry, feeding off an offensive line that's gelled into a mauling unit. They've erupted for 31 points per game over the last four outings, turning shootouts into symphonies. Flacco's veteran savvy—calling audibles like a chess master—has this group humming, a far cry from the Burrow-less sputters of years past. Yet, for all the offensive fireworks, the defense is a dumpster fire of historic proportions. Surrendering 35 points per contest—the worst in franchise lore and bottom-feeder league-wide—they've allowed 4,200 total yards already, more than most full seasons. The secondary is Swiss cheese: corners like Cam Taylor-Britt and Mike Hilton torched for 1,200 passing yards and 12 TDs, with safeties Vonn Bell and Jordan Battle whiffing tackles like pros at a piñata party. Up front, the pass rush is anemic—eight sacks total, none from a depleted D-line missing B.J. Hill to injury. Run stuffers? Laughable, coughing up 160 yards per game on the ground. Lou Anarumo's schemes look like relics from the West Coast offense era. Zac Taylor's squad enters the break with a prayer: harness the bye for scheme tweaks and youth infusions. Offense can carry them to 9-8 and a wild-card sniff, but without defensive voodoo—trades? Miracles?—this Bengal pride risks another winter of what-ifs. Flacco's magic buys time, but history whispers: firepower alone doesn't forge rings. Fans roar for resurrection; the D must awaken, or it's just Bengal fireworks fizzling in the Ohio chill Music from #InAudio: https://inaudio.org/ Track Name Holy (Trap). When Brian and Sally Krichbaum bought Gilbert Chocolates in 2012, they had zero experience making or selling candy. Brian was a seasoned automotive engineer and consultant, while Sally was a freelance writer and stay-at-home mom. What they shared was a taste for challenge — and for good chocolate. Founded in 1893 and beloved by generations of Jackson, Michigan, residents, Gilbert Chocolates was a hometown treasure in need of fresh energy. The Krichbaums took on the task of modernizing operations and expanding distribution while preserving the small-batch, Belgian-style quality that defined the brand. Their journey wasn't easy. "I thought retail would be simple," Brian admits. "It's not — selling is hard." Sally adds that learning the rhythms of retail, hiring and training staff, and mastering the art of tempering chocolate all came with a steep learning curve. Today, Gilbert Chocolates is thriving, with multiple locations, a booming e-commerce business, and budding national partnerships. For the Krichbaums, success tastes sweet — not just because of the chocolate, but because they've proven that passion, persistence, and purpose can turn even the most unlikely entrepreneurs into hometown heroes. The Net Promoter System Podcast – Customer Experience Insights from Loyalty Leaders
Episode 251: In 2018, Dell set out to do something big: turn customer feedback into a system that could not only provide insights, but help set priorities and run the business. They had the data. They had the intent. But they made a compromise that many organizations settle on: Rather than enforce one unified approach to customer feedback, they allowed each team to build its own. While this helped with initial adoption and change management, it also led to fragmentation—multiple tools, different methods, no shared truth. And it got worse over time. Real progress ultimately would require centralizing what had become scattered. When Dell's Marc Stein appeared on this podcast in 2018 (episode 129), the company had just completed its EMC merger and launched a chief customer office. The ambition: one integrated Net Promoter System to tie sentiment to economics and put the customer at the center of every decision. But good intentions ran into a harsh reality: Every function was listening to customers, but no one was hearing the same thing. In this episode, Mike Valanzola, Dell's Senior Director of Voice of Customer and NPS Operations, picks up the story. He explains how misaligned tools, siloed ownership, and governance gaps made customer feedback hard to act on. His team didn't want to tear down what existed. Instead, they brought it together. Through consolidation, centralization, shared standards, and stronger governance, they transformed scattered signals into an enterprise-wide system of action. The turning point came with the Customer Experience Roadmap and Accreditation. The CXRA gave Dell a framework to drive internal accountability and rebuild trust in the system. As Mike describes, cross-functional teams now meet weekly to act on shared signals. Tomorrow's goal? Make every employee a promoter and make every signal actionable. The reason for that came down to every function across the company, ultimately doing their own listening programs, using their own application, governing how they listened, controlling what they got back, and not sharing it.” [18:00] ”We had been really in a run-the-business function, really focused on NPS management, really focused on owning that measurement for the company. Welcome to Season 5 of the More Math for More People podcast!!!What if high school mathematics could be truly transformed into something students find engaging, meaningful, and applicable to their lives? In this thought-provoking conversation with mathematics education experts Kris Cunningham and Kristi Martin, we dive deep into the possibilities presented in the NCTM publication "High School Mathematics Reimagined, Revitalized, and Relevant."The discussion opens doors to a reimagined approach to high school mathematics that moves beyond the traditional curriculum model. Both guests highlight the importance of mathematical modeling as a pathway to authentic learning experiences where students tackle complex, multi-variable problems without predetermined solutions. This creates space for creative thinking and problem-solving skills that transcend the classroom. However, transformation doesn't come without challenges. Kristi candidly shares her classroom experiences of struggling to surface the mathematical concepts within engaging modeling activities and the difficulty of finding relevant problems that align with required standards. Kris emphasizes the need for systemic support, including administrative understanding and professional development opportunities that give teachers space to experiment and grow.Perhaps most powerfully, both educators stress the importance of persistence through inevitable frustrations. "If you believe in it and know it's great for students, just keep trying," Kristi encourages, reminding listeners that transformation is a journey rather than a destination. The conversation serves as both inspiration and practical roadmap for anyone interested in creating mathematics education that truly prepares students for their futures rather than simply repeating practices of the past.Send Joel and Misty a message! The More Math for More People Podcast is produced by CPM Educational Program. Send us a textWhat does it mean when a community evolves? From Farmstead's transformation into Bonrue Bakery to the complex urban planning challenges facing St. George, this conversation explores how Southern Utah is navigating its adolescence as a growing region.Chris Conners shares his entrepreneurial journey, including how his French-inspired bakery found its footing in downtown St. George and the unexpected positive response to rebranding. His story illuminates the broader evolution happening across our community – businesses creating other businesses, talent attracting more talent, and new ideas reshaping what it means to live in this desert landscape. The discussion dives deep into the barriers preventing innovative solutions to housing and transportation challenges. With over 16 different residential zoning classifications alone, even experienced developers spend countless hours navigating regulations that often prevent common-sense development. As City Council member Danielle Larkin notes, "People are fearful. Change feels scary, it feels threatening." Yet this fear often leads to contradictions – residents simultaneously want charming, walkable neighborhoods while opposing the very zoning changes that would create them.Perhaps most fascinating is the exploration of how self-driving vehicles will transform St. George within the next decade. Are we investing millions in parking structures and road infrastructure that may become obsolete? As one participant observes about his nine-year-old son's reaction to autonomous vehicles: "He's like, 'Why would I ever have to drive a car?' And I think as a kid I was so excited to drive a car because self-driving wasn't an option."Join us for this thought-provoking conversation about finding balance between preservation and progress, between suburban comfort and urban vitality, and between the St. George of yesterday and the community we're building for tomorrow. Prayer may be the most important practice for co-operating with God as he tenderly pulls up the old carpet in our lives and installs his new creation version. But the triggers around prayer are real. I have a bunch of them myself. You may as well. Prayer may be the most important practice, but in some ways it is also the most challenging and the most confusing. It is challenging, we might say, because it is so confusing. Prayer can be so challenging and confusing that our prayer life sometimes becomes part of the old carpet of our lives, meaning our prayers become rote; somewhat meaningless, boring. We think of prayer as a duty lacking much delight and in either the front or in the back of our minds, prayer raises hard questions for which there does not seem to be very many satisfying answers. Questions like, if God knows everything already and knows what is going to happen, why in the world does prayer even matter? Or, if prayer is so powerful then why do so many prayed for people suffer and get sick and die instead of being healed? There are dozens of these graduate-level questions and there's not too many of them that have an easy answer or any answer. So like most things in life, and most things in the life of faith, prayer is a thousand-piece puzzle.

Jonathan grew up in the mid-west in the 70's and 80's and enjoyed most of his free time around water and nature. There were many questions which arose in his mind which could not be answered by conventional teachings and saw no separation between the laws of nature and the laws of physics. He went on to graduate from Naval Nuclear Power program in the mid 90's and began a career in industrial machine design and integration which he continues today. He has specialized in machine and company start ups involving customized equipment and process analysis and control. In the last 20 years he has designed, built, and tuned hundreds of large-scale machines serving the automotive & performance, agriculture, steel, aeronautics & aerospace industries. In 2007 he began evaluating water for use as a supplementary efficiency improver in thermal processes in which he began designing and building water machines. During development over the next 5 years, he observed remarkable properties and behaviors within water while analyzing it. The realization from his observations led him to shift his focus into biological functions, with water always being the primary regulator of electricity, which he recognizes as the fundamental ingredient to all matter and life. In J. R. R. Tolkien’s book The Fellowship of the Rings, Bilbo Baggins starts showing the effects of carrying, for six decades, a magical ring with dark powers. Weighed down by its slowly corrosive nature, he says to the wizard Gandalf, “Why, I feel all thin, sort of stretched, if you know what I mean: like butter that has been scraped over too much bread.” He decides to leave his home in search of rest, somewhere “in peace and quiet, without a lot of relatives prying around.” This aspect of Tolkien’s story reminds me of an Old Testament prophet’s experience. On the run from Jezebel and wrung out after his battle with false prophets, Elijah badly needed some rest. Feeling depleted, he asked God to let him die, saying, “I have had enough, Lord” (1 Kings 19:4). After he fell asleep, God’s angel woke him so he could eat and drink. He slept again, and then ate more of the food provided by the angel. Revitalized, he had enough energy for the forty-day walk to the mountain of God. When we feel scraped thin, we too can look to God for true refreshment. We might need to care for our bodies while we also ask Him to fill us with His hope, peace, and rest. Even as the angel tended to Elijah, we can trust that God will impart His refreshing presence on us (see Matthew 11:28).

Today's show featured an interview with Alan Versteeg, Global Chief Revenue Officer, Growth Matters International and James Hickman, Director of Sales at Altron Digital Business. JAMES' TIP: “Take 5 to 10 minutes, sit down and write down, out of this podcast or any of the other podcasts you've listened to on the channel, what is it you are going to go and do? Set yourself timelines to that and book a meeting now for a week or two weeks to sit down and review how you've progressed along those actions. None of what's been said on this podcast or any of the others is any value unless it's implemented and actioned. That's the only way to get results.” ALAN'S TIP: “If you're a salesperson, make it a profession. That mindset will change everything. If you're a sales manager, realize you're there to grow salespeople that grow sales, not grow sales. That mindset will serve you everywhere. If you're an organization, realize that nothing happens until you make a sale. As the leader, start aligning the organization behind the sales.”
In this episode, the hosts welcome Dr. Andrea Austin, an emergency physician and advocate for physician well-being, to discuss her new book 'Revitalized'. The conversation explores themes of hyperfunctioning and underfunctioning in medical culture, the challenges of mental health in both military and medical settings, the importance of emotional check-ins, and the role of humor in coping with the stresses of the profession. Dr. Austin shares personal experiences and insights on navigating nihilism, pain, and resistance, emphasizing the need for a supportive healthcare culture that prioritizes well-being. Takeaways: Hyperfunctioning is a common coping strategy in medicine. Medical culture often equates mental health challenges with weakness. Emotional check-ins can help regulate stress and anxiety. Nihilism can be a dangerous mindset for healthcare professionals. Pain is a part of life, but suffering can be managed. Humor can be a coping mechanism but should be used wisely. External validation can lead to burnout and dissatisfaction. The military and medical cultures share similar mental health challenges. It's important to allow oneself to feel emotions fully. Creating a supportive environment is crucial for physician well-being. keywords: physician well-being, mental health, hyperfunctioning, medical culture, humor in medicine, arrival fallacy, emotional intelligence, burnout, resilience, military experience Chapters 00:00 Introduction to Dr. Andrea Austin 02:51 Exploring Hyperfunctioning and Underfunctioning 07:41 Military and Medical Culture: Mental Health Challenges 12:10 The Importance of Emotional Check-Ins 14:52 Understanding Arrival Fallacy 20:01 Navigating Nihilism and Isolation 21:16 Pain, Resistance, and Suffering 25:40 The Role of Humor in Medicine 31:55 Conclusion and Book Promotion Resources: Book-Revitalize at andreaaustinmd.com Arrival Fallacy Article Got Burnout? N.Sane in the Neo Cortex! For this episode, our duo tackles a collection of remasters of the first three entries in the famous platformer series originally developed by Naughty Dog. Revitalized by Vicarious Visions and now available on Xbox Game Pass, it is finally time for our hosts to take them for a spin. Tom is a fan of both developers and Chris even interned at Vicarious Visions, so it seems both of them will be challenged to fight back some personal bias with this one. On the other hand, Tom was raised as a Nintendo kid and carries an unresolved grudge against the titular marsupial, so perhaps that will balance out. Will he discover what all those Sony kids were raving about? Will he finally be able to put aside his differences like he did with a certain blue hedgehog?
