This week, we are locked in with PokerStars Ambassador and EPT Paris runner-up Felix Schneiders. We discuss Felix's long road from a $50 deposit and streaming in his parent's basement to the bright lights of the EPT Paris Final Table. Peeling back and looking down at pocket aces in a high stakes cash game is the dream of every poker player! Jennifer Tilly was fortunate enough to get the pocket rockets during a cash game on PokerGO's No Gamble, No Future. After squeezing it preflop and getting two callers, Tilly decides to slowplay her hand. It seems to work out perfectly as Pink shoves the turn with just a straight draw. But will Tilly think Pink's all in for a huge amount is an extremely strong hand and make a terrible hero fold or will she win a huge pot and help answer the question: Why did Jennifer Tilly tip $200? When playing poker cash games or tournaments, it is important to protect your check-calling range. This means that when you check and call a bet, you should not only have medium-strength hands or draws. You should also include some very strong hands into your check-calling range, along with a few floats that you plan to turn into bluffs on certain runouts. By protecting your check-calling range, your opponents are left uncertain about the strength of your hand. As a result, it becomes much harder for them to exploit you by double barreling and forcing you to fold medium-strength hands when they assume you only check-raise with strong hands and check-call with weak ones. Jennifer Tilly is a poker player from America and has over $1,000,000 in live poker tournament earnings. Tilly has 1 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet, which came during the 2005 series where she won the $1,000 buy in Ladies Only event for $158,335. Tilly has also had a career as a Hollywood actor, having featured in movies and TV such as Chucky, Family Guy, and Bullets Over Broadway. She has also played on many live poker streams such as Poker After Dark, No Gamble No Future, and High Stakes Poker. Tilly married another popular poker player – Phil Laak in 2004. Since 2009, she has played over 112 times on live streamed poker cash games and has lost more than $1,000,000. Mark Ioennelli ‘Pink' is an amateur poker player from the U.S.A. Phil Hellmuth has provided more than his fair share of entertainment over the past few decades on poker live streams, and that trend continues during a cash game on PokerGO's No Gamble, No Future. In a multi way bomb pot, Hellmuth and DrDad both make the same full house on the river, and a chopped pot seems inevitable. However, is this the moment Phil Hellmuth makes a huge mistake and lays down his boat after DrDad overbets? When playing cash games or poker tournaments, you generally want to use larger bet sizes when you have a nut advantage. This means your range contains more premium hands than your opponent's. However, this approach changes in multi way pots. When betting into multiple opponents on the flop, turn, or river, it is usually best to use smaller bet sizes, as the equity in the pot is spread out and players are less likely to fold. Phil Hellmuth ‘The Poker Brat' has won more than $30,700,000 in live poker tournaments putting him in the top 100 on the all time money list. Hellmuth has 17 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets which is currently the most that any poker player has won! Hellmuth is very well known for his antics and outbursts at the poker table which is why he is known as ‘The Poker Brat'. Schill is a biomedical researcher with a Ph.D. in cell and developmental biology. He has won over $220,000 in live poker tournaments. The action folds back to the popular poker commentator, Stapleton, who has been covering the European Poker Tour (EPT) for over a decade. Stapleton reluctantly folds his two overcards and ace-high flush draw. DrDad calls, and the two poker players head to the turn. Turn – 4h:Hellmuth slows down and checks the four of hearts on the turn and DrDad checks behind. River – 8s:Both players improve to the same boat, eights full of jacks on the river, and a chop pot looks likely. Hellmuth checks for the last time, and DrDad chooses to overbet for $2,500. Joe Stapleton is the busiest person I know. At the time of this interview, Joe serves as the Mayor of Newport Beach, California and has passionately served this community for two decades. His view of public service is on point; and the genesis of it comes from an experience that changed his view of the world and of his own legacy. Since that time, Joe has held more positions in his city than I can on my hands and feet, and attends more civic events than I can comprehend. Every day he's somewhere… or five places. At the same time he is the very active and engaged president of the financial services organization that he co-founded and between clients, family, and city roles, he is still committed to his friends and his fitness as an endurance athlete. This all recently culminated in his role in the Ben Carlson Foundation's 10th annual Ben Did Go community fundraising event which found Joe training and crushing the 30 mile solo prone paddle which is quite a feat for anyone, especially if that person grew up in Arizona. Joe is a great storyteller and his path to today is impressive and interesting. Regardless of where you live or what you believe, Joe's view of community engagement and of public service will resonate and captivate.

He told stories about writing obits and adding a little more than the usual family, friends and arrangements stuff. After that we get another report with Bruce sponsored by the Norm Nathan Orchestra and the Bruce Connolly Quintet Now it’s time for lots of callers: I believe the caller’s name was Dorothy – 1st time she’s ever called a station Glen in Portsmouth, NH Helene from Belmont – singing and thinking of lyrics to songs whilst driving the car is the subject. Norm mentions some of his favs and they discuss many tunes and recite lines from them to each other. Charlie from Manassas,VA - he Norm singing a theme from a program that hadn’t been on the air for 50 years. Charlie has high praise for the show! He's trying to start a fan club in Manassas. Bruce with traffic and we switch to side B where Bruce and Norm continue with the silly. Norm moves to the back rows of the Teen Canteen with two pretty girls that just came in and asks Bruce to project so they can hear him. A comment about Joe Stapleton causes Norm to burst out laughing. Dave from Uxbridge but really from Whitinsville. More high praise. He’s a bluegrass musician with the band Southern Rail. He has been loving the traffic reports and makes an awful third harbor tunnel joke that I thoroughly enjoyed. This led Norm to reveal that he subbed for Joe Green in the traffic copter?! Dave also objects to the stupid infomercials that had booted Norm off the air on Sunday nights. Jim on a car phone –Gives his own foggy and rainy traffic report. Paul Vato first met Joe Stapleton when he was a runner at MADtv around 2005. Years later, Stapes has become, not only a top stand up comedian in the US and the UK, but one of the most recognized faces and voices in the world of poker! At the top of the show we catch Joe ripping into his secret addiction, and it's not pretty. This self described comedian, shaman, mother, conquistador, attention whore, social vigilante, upward failer and hooker with a heart of gold is our esteemed guest today. After spending a few years in LA seeking opportunities in comedy, in 2006 Joe (Stapes) Stapleton took a summer job as a blogger in the professional poker world. Seeing room to make poker fun and funny, Stapes' unique brand of humor got him fired from his first poker job, and then hired for the next dozen. In 2009 he landed his big TV break on the syndicated FOX series "The Big Game," as the comic relief and color-commentator. Since then he's done the same on over half dozen poker shows airing in over 20 countries around the world. In 2017 he won "Poker Media Person of the Year" and most for 2017/2018 he was the sideline comic relief for the World Series of Poker live on ESPN. While living in London, Stapes humor (humour) and presence on UK TV led him to develop a solid social media presence, which in turn caused him to draw some crowds on the London stand-up comedy circuit. Since then he's also performed at comedy clubs in New York (Greenwich Village Comedy Club), Los Angeles (The Comedy Store & Laugh Factory), and a handful of other countries around the world. Before COVID he toured the US as the feature act and opener for Norm Macdonald and produced/hosted his own monthly standup show in Las Vegas. Joe Stapleton got his start in the poker world at Card Player, working the WSOP while on hiatus from his job at Mad TV. The Albany, New York native then moved on to other projects, including writing and podcasting, and commentating work for a number of poker broadcasts and TV shows.
