The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- “Kash Patel Is Right for the FBI.” Former White House National Security Adviser Robert C. O'Brien writes in a Wall Street Journal op-ed: “President-elect Trump has assembled one of the most diverse and capable cabinets in American history, and he has done so at a record pace. His nomination of Kash Patel to be director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is an excellent choice that adds further luster to the new administration. Mr. Patel will be a worthy successor to my friend Director Christopher Wray. The nominee is the son of Indian immigrants who fled beautiful East Africa for New York because of discrimination and the abuse of the rule of law by a tyrant in their homeland. Mr. Patel served as the National Security Council's senior director for counterterrorism when I was White House national security adviser. I was able to count on him to get any job done, no matter how complex or difficult. Mr. Patel handled some of the nation's most sensitive issues with care and discretion.” You can read the full editorial here: https://www.wsj.com/opinion/kash-patel-is-right-for-the-fbi-federal-bureau-of-investigation-cabinet-pick-85c8ef30 3:15pm- According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, president-elect Donald Trump is considering replacing his Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), or former Pentagon official Elbridge Colby. On Wednesday, Hegseth spoke with the press on Capitol Hill and revealed that Trump encouraged him to keep fighting during a conversation earlier in the day. 3:20pm- While appearing on CNN, New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman revealed that “most people around Trump” don't think Pete Hegseth will be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. 3:30pm- While appearing on The View, Senator John Fetterman said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's “hush money” case against Donald Trump was politically motivated —and that American institutions were damaged as a consequence. 3:40pm- Joni Ernst Doing Everything to Derail Hegseth Nomination. Shawn Fleetwood of The Federalist reports that “Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, has been leading an “aggressive” personal jihad against Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump's nominee for defense secretary...Ernst's efforts included personal calls to Trump to urge him to dump Hegseth ahead of her meeting with the Army veteran on Wednesday afternoon. Ernst did not tell Hegseth during her meeting with him about her efforts to derail his nomination.” You can read the full article here: https://thefederalist.com/2024/12/04/trump-world-sources-joni-ernst-is-waging-aggressive-personal-jihad-against-hegseth/
The COP29 climate talks are heading into its final stretch, with negotiators from nearly 200 countries still remaining far apart, as nations try to agree on a plan to provide potentially trillions of dollars to developing countries suffering the effects of climate change. As evidence becomes increasingly challenging to ignore, climate scientists are warning that the planet is almost certain to blow past the target of keeping global warming within 1.5 degrees Celsius - a rallying cry for climate action for nearly a decade. However, divisions remain over how much money should be made available, what kind of financing efforts should count toward the overall goal and how recipient countries should gain access to the funds. Is the focus of these talks headed in the right direction? And why are the talks seeming to yield little progress? On this episode of Morning Shot, Professor Ben Horton, Director from the Earth Observatory of Singapore at NTU shares his insights. Ah, the bizarre love/hate life of the New Order fan. What's your most loved and least favorite song on Low-Life?! For our fourth Request Episode Election, we went through dozens of listener suggestions to nominate Joe Jackson's Look Sharp, Jane's Addiction's Ritual de lo Habitual and this 1985 Manchester classic, which won in a landslide election. While half of us moaned about the album choice from our mystery nominators (MIA), we all had lots of great memories to share of adoring and rolling our eyes at NO. Superfan Sam hosted and held up lots of New Order vinyl, old tshirts were dusted off and Adam delivered an avalanche of guest rankers, starting with internationally-loved San Diego superstars Koi Division, who donned their iconic fish heads for a filmed interview. Days later, he visited Gold Diggers Sound in Los Angeles to chat with Dave Trumfio of the synth-lovin' Pulsars, whose lone 1997 debut/farewell album has finally recently been reissued. The two full interviews will be on our Youtube channel. Just you wait. In addition to getting tribute band opinions from San Francisco's Temptation and San Diego's Thieves Like Us (Substance responded too late to have their support for "Sunrise" be included), he got first hand accounts of 91X FM's infamous 1985 year-end countdown switcheroo from DJs Dwight Arnold, Pam Wolf and Billy Bones. Today's Topics: 1) Gospel - Lk 7:31-35 - Jesus said to the crowds: "To what shall I compare the people of this generation? What are they like? They are like children who sit in the marketplace and call to one another, 'We played the flute for you, but you did not dance. We sang a dirge, but you did not weep.' For John the Baptist came neither eating food nor drinking wine, and you said, 'He is possessed by a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking and you said, 'Look, He is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is vindicated by all her children." A problem-free life is a myth. Problems and challenges and battles are part of our ongoing reality. This year, the only head of state that most Australians have ever known died. It led to an outpouring of grief and mourning, particularly in the UK, but that wasn't the only side of the story. There were also protests, marches and an attempt from some to reckon with the monarchy's colonial past. Today we're featuring this episode from September with the United Kingdom's first Professor of Black Studies and author of The New Age of Empire, Kehinde Andrews, on what the monarchy represents today.

Sometimes the mess is our own making. God created this world with a certain order. And when we live outside that created order, consequences eventually catch up. When we do things we shouldn't do, when, not unlike Ahab, we can list the reasons and find excuses, we believe we are justified. Jesus teaches us something much different. Let's face it. Admitting we are wrong doesn't come easily for us. Often our pride can cloud our vision to see where we have been at fault and where we need to turn blame from others to ourselves. But how can we grow to be more aware of our failures? How can we mature to hold the humility necessary to admit when we are at fault and seek repentance and/or forgiveness? Join BTS host Will Herron and Ridge Lead Pastor Mike Van Rees as they discuss what lessons we can learn from 1 Kings 17+18 around these themes and more. Last week on the public holiday to mourn the Queen's death, there were protests against the monarchy in major cities across Australia. The marches represented many who harbour a resentment towards the British crown and the unhealed wounds inflicted by the British Empire. In the UK, some people feel the same way and not all Britons participated in the scenes of public grieving that have been seen around the world. Japanese July consumer price inflation rose as expected - the headline rate to 2.6 percent year over year ad the core rate, using the international definition, to 0.4 percent year over year. Some investors ask why Bank of Japan policy engineered so low an inflation rate - the answer is that this is not superior Bank of Japan policy, but a different demand pattern from Japanese consumers. Considering money supply without considering money demand tells investors nothing about inflation drivers.
