Escuchar audio

Producer Alexx Antaeus was recently recognized with a Grammy for Best Reggae Album alongside Julian Marley for their collaboration on "Colors of Royal". Their work seamlessly blends reggae with electronic and experimental sounds, showcasing Antaeus's exceptional talent and creative vision.Full YouTube interview link here: Please share and like.https://youtu.be/OR1KQZmm9M8?si=p4a150a3z-_Xbv-GBeyond this Grammy success, Antaeus has a diverse career producing for acclaimed artists and crafting evocative soundscapes as well as his own music - notably Byzantine Meditation. He was born in Patras in Greece but spent his teenage years in Athens before leaving for California when he was 17. His life has taken him from L.A., where he studied, became a DJ, and ended up with a studio in New York, and a chicken farm in Jamaica. It was on that island that he met many notable Jamaicans, including Julian Marley and after their initial collaboration on The Tide is High - a cover of Dancehall star of the 70s John Holt's track (the Blondie version is the one that become world famous), they decided to work on an album. It was that album Colors of Royal that would win Alexx his first Grammy. Subsequently, known as a rabbi, singer, rapper, songwriter, writer, entrepreneur, executive, and public speaker. Sheradsky first received recognition in music when his debut single went viral on several social media and streaming platforms. Following the release of his debut, “You Are Not Alone”, he signed to Create Music Group. The single managed to reach charts in five different countries, including becoming a Billboard certified single in the US. He later collaborated with Julian Marley. That is ultimately what spirituality is. The more we open ourselves up to that and we're vulnerable with God and open with him, I think the more spiritual a person will feel throughout their day.” – Moshe ReuvenAbout Madison Margolin:“I'm a journalist straddling California, New York, and Israel-Palestine, focused on psychedelics, cannabis, and Judaism (in jest, I'll say “Jews & Drugs”). I also cover culture, policy, and science. I'm passionate and curious about how people can transcend their minds to access something greater than themselves — be it through getting high off acid or God, meditating, creating art, or something somatic, I've set out to explore the various ways people nourish their souls. This is what drives me, and most of my writing, in some way or another, connects back to this theme. These days, I work as an editor at DoubleBlind, the print and digital magazine I co-founded, covering psychedelics and where they intersect with mental health, spirituality, environmental justice, and social equity. I also co-founded the Jewish Psychedelic Summit and host a podcast called Set & Setting on the Be Here Now Network. I've been practicing journalism since 2014 and have been published in outlets like Rolling Stone, Vice, Playboy, High Times, Tablet, and Nylon, among others.I got my start with a column on cannabis at the Village Voice, just after graduating from Columbia Journalism School. Prior to that, I lived in Tel Aviv, working with Israel's African refugee community. In a past life, I also lived at a crazy co-op called Cloyne, while studying rhetoric and linguistics at UC Berkeley.I'm a nerd about language and speak or dabble in French, Russian, Yiddish, and Hebrew. When not working, writing, or reporting, I'm usually dancing, spinning my hula hoop, or practicing yoga.”Learn more about Madison's work at madisonmargolin.com See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This week Sahara, Ojay and David of the renowned Reggae band, the Resolvers stopped by the studio and had a great chat with us about touring, their famous Reggae father and all things Reggae. So much fun! The Resolvers are south florida's biggest reggae band. Their humongous sound which the 10-piece coins "big band reggae," is a mix between Roots Rock Reggae and New Orleans-style Funk and Soul. Their powerful energy and positive vibes have spread out far beyond the peninsula as band keep growing their fan base and uplifting audiences throughout the United States and internationally. The Resolvers are a family affair. Siblings Sahara and Ojay Smith both take control over lead vocal role. Singing, songwriting, and performing is in their blood - their daddy is Jamaican Singer/Songwriter Ernie Smith. The chemistry is undeniable. Their show has been described as "explosive" and "must see", and the band has gained the reputation as a premier reggae act. The Resolvers have shared the stage with many internationally renowned artists The Wailers, Julian Marley, Stephen Marley, Damian Marley, Kymani Marley, Inner Circle, English Beat, Yellowman, Matisyahoo, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, SOJA, Fortunate Youth, The Elovaters, Artikal Sound System, along many other world renowned acts in major International festivals such as Marley Fest, Jamaican Jazz & Blues Fest, SunFest, Hulaween, Aura Music Fest, Dub Fest and more. It took me a while to track Roy down. Roy Venkataraman was a name I heard often when I was growing up in India in the 80' and 90's. I knew of him as the Indian guitar player for Bob Marley's legendary band the Wailers. He is widely considered reggae royalty, at least here in India. Roy started his career in Bombay, playing with some of the most popular bands in the country and then moved to the U.S where he garnered a wealth of experience playing and recording with artists including Atlantis and Keith Benson. He also played with groundbreaking indo-jazz band Divya at some of the biggest jazz festivals internationally including the Jazz Yatra in India. Roy also did concerts and worked with legendary pianist Louis Banks as his main sessions guitarist for a few years. His own album Lifelines features world renowned musicians Clive Stevens, Randy Brecker, Adam Holzman and Rachel Z amongst many others. Roy was invited to join Bob Marley's Wailers band and toured the world with them for years. He has scored music for well known film-maker Govind Nihalani and toured with Jeremy Spencer, co-founder of Fleetwood Mac and has also recorded with various well known artists worldwide. Roy now lives in Sydney, Australia. He has shared stages with Simply Red, Third World, Xzibit, Maxi Priest, Sly and Robbie, UB40, Lauryn Hill, Julian Marley, Steel Pulse and countless others and is guitarist with widely popular New Zealand reggae band House of Shem. I had the privilege of listening to some of his new music that's an eclectic mix of jazz, sufi and electronica. The music you hear in the intro to this podcast is from Roy's album Horizontal Life. I caught up with Roy and we traced his multi decade career from Mumbai to Sydney. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Follow Tales from the Road on Facebook | Instagram Listen to more episodes on Spotify | Apple Podcasts | Google | Gaana |Audible Also check us out on our website tftrmedia.com Hosted and produced by Vikram Chandrasekar and Moving Pictures Media ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vikram aka The Concert Photographer is an internationally published concert photographer, videographer and podcast host.
