We all create stories in our minds. Some of those stories take the form of wishes and dreams.....maybe hopes and visions for the future. But let's be honest, some of those stories aren't fairytales. Some of our stories that we create are rooted in fear, shame, vulnerability and served up with a healthy helping of doubt. Some of the stories you have told yourself about yourself are so unkind you would never speak something like that to someone else. But yet……those are the stories that seem to play the loudest on a loop in your head.....especially when you attempt something outside of your comfort zone. Julie Traxler wanted to climb the mountain at 29029. She wanted to wear the red hat. She wanted to watch the brands on the ascent board add up until on Saturday, she would stand atop her Everest at Stratton Mountain Vermont. Julie hadn't even started to climb on Friday when the stories she was telling herself…..not the fairytale and rainbow stories…..but the shameful, hateful poisonous stories......started to play over and over in her mind. Julie's experience at 29029 is raw and blissfully unfiltered. It is a story of a woman who saw the parts of herself that she hated the most reflected right back to her in the mirror that was her mountain. The work that it takes to climb the mountains in our lives is hard. Sure, we love to share the beautiful pictures with breathtaking landscapes and exhausted happy people wearing red hats. We all love a good ending. But to only share those images and those stories does not do justice to the journey that takes place inside the messy middle when we choose climb. Welcome to Otherwise (un)Damaged! In this episode co-hosts Julie Traxler and Michelle Fuller get together over coffee to discuss current events, share some laughs, and express their frustrations with the current state of the country. Michelle starts off the conversation with a passionate statement: “Let me tell you why this pissed me off so much. Because as a female, I get something every month that natural born males never fucking get. I don't care how many hormones you pump into your fucking body, you're never going to get what I get every single month.” Julie nods in agreement and the two continue discussing the recent political developments surrounding women's rights. The conversation eventually turns to a recent commercial controversy involving Bud Light. Julie shares her thoughts on the issue: “I'm not trying to cancel Bud Light. I'm just putting my money where my values are.” The two continue their discussion on consumer responsibility and the importance of supporting companies that align with personal values. Throughout the episode, Julie and Michelle also share some laughs and banter about everyday topics, like the struggles of adulting and the latest viral internet memes. However, amidst the humor and laughter, there is an underlying frustration with the state of the country and the world. Welcome back to Otherwise (un)Damaged, the podcast that's like a choose-your-own-adventure book, but with more tangents. In this episode, co-hosts Julie Traxler and Michelle Fuller are back for round two of Crystal Ballin', where they dive into the future based on the past three years of events. The co-hosts dive into a number of themes that emerged from the survey responses they received. One of the themes that stuck out was gun control. While opinions on this issue are highly divisive, some survey respondents expressed hope that the tide is turning towards sensible regulations that protect both our rights and safety. Religion was also a topic that came up, with some respondents suggesting that people will always have a need for spirituality but organized religion may not be as influential in the future. The possibility of another world war was also a topic of discussion. While it's a scary thought, some respondents expressed hope that we can learn from past mistakes and work together as a global community to address the issues that threaten our safety and security. One response that really resonated with the co-hosts was, "The past 3 years made me realize what is essential in life and business - reality without the fluff. My future in business will be driven by showing up when it matters and the authentic connections that I can build - in person or virtual. My family is evolving to use technology to enhance our lives, not distract us from it." The co-hosts note that this is a great reminder to focus on what really matters in life, even in uncertain times. Overall, the co-hosts had a great time reviewing the survey responses and discussing what the future might hold. While the future is always uncertain, they believe that it's important to stay positive and focused on what matters most. Welcome to the BizQuik podcast, where we help entrepreneurs and business owners navigate the ups and downs of running a business. I'm your host, Julie Traxler, and in today's episode, we'll be discussing a concept from Clayton M. Christensen's book, "How Will You Measure Your Life?" called "What Job are you Hiring for?" According to Christensen, understanding the job your customers are trying to accomplish is crucial for creating a successful product or service. It's not just about selling a product or service, it's about helping your customers achieve their goals. For example, let's say you own a coaching business. Your clients aren't just hiring you to give them advice, they're hiring you to help them achieve a specific goal. Maybe they want to increase sales or improve their communication skills. Understanding the job your clients are hiring you for will help you create a more effective solution that meets their needs. The same goes for any business. Whether you're selling a product or service, understanding the job your customers are trying to accomplish is key to creating a successful business. You're gonna focus on the job to be done. You can then create a more effective solution that meets the needs of your customers. As entrepreneurs and business owners, it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks of running a business. But it's important to take a step back and ask yourself, what job are my customers hiring me for? By understanding your customers' needs and goals, you can create a business that truly meets their needs. So, take some time to think about the job your customers are hiring you for. Are you meeting their needs? Are you providing a solution that truly helps them achieve their goals? By focusing on the job to be done, you can create a more successful and fulfilling business for yourself and your customers. That's it for today's episode of BizQuik. Welcome to the BizQuik Podcast, where we help entrepreneurs navigate the ups and downs of running a successful business. In today's episode, we're talking about a topic that's often misunderstood: sales. Our host, Julie Traxler, will be discussing why some people think sales is just a bunch of douchebags trying to muscle you, and the truth behind this common misconception. First up, Julie explains why bait and switch tactics, upselling, and quick decision making pressure are not the way to go when it comes to sales. These tactics might seem like a quick way to close a deal, but they ultimately damage the relationship between businesses and their customers. Instead, Julie highlights the importance of relationship building in sales. Building trust and rapport with customers is the key to successful sales. By understanding the customer's needs and pain points, businesses can create a solution that truly solves their problems and meets their needs. But what about the pros and cons of sales? Julie breaks it down for us, explaining that while sales can be a great way to drive revenue and growth, it can also be a double-edged sword. When done correctly, sales can be a powerful tool for businesses. But when done poorly, it can damage the reputation of the business and turn customers away. To wrap it up, Julie emphasizes the importance of marketing in the sales process. Marketing lays the foundation for successful sales by creating a strong brand and attracting the right customers. By working together, sales and marketing can create a seamless customer journey that ultimately drives growth for the business. Thanks for tuning in to the BizQuik Podcast! Welcome to episode 32 of Otherwise (un)Damaged! In this episode, our regular hosts Julie Traxler and Michelle Fuller discuss the controversy surrounding Hershey's Chocolate and their International Women's Month commercial featuring a transgender male. They also discuss The Daily Wire launching a chocolate company in response. The hosts delve into the topic of equality and discuss heavily if International Women's Month is even needed. Welcome back to the End Hype podcast. In episode 112 Callye Keen welcomes back Julie Traxler, co-founder of SB PACE to dispel the myths around followers. There is a misconception that there is a direct correlation between followers and customers. That correlation doesn't exist. 10,000 followers does not equate to 10,000 paying customers. And at the end of the day, that's what you need, paying customers.Paying customers means everything in business. Followers don't matter. Listen in as Callye and Julie talk about alternative methods to social media marketing, and why someone who is watching you on social media platforms is more likely to buy from you than someone who is actually following and engaging with you on social media and social networks. And you're more likely to make a purchase during a product launch from someone and then start following them to support a product or service you like than you are to follow someone and then make a purchase. It's not a straight line from follower to sale.[10:03] Get out of your headYou've created some kind of crazy obstacle and you say if I do these things, then I'm going to be ready to offer something to my audience. I can tell you that you're just adding risk. And you're also building up an audience that doesn't know you're about to offer this thing. It's all in your head. You're complicating the product development process.[10:57] What are you afraid ofHow many people do you think are afraid to move off of social media as the marketing tool for their company because they're uncertain. Either they're afraid of the work effort to go someplace else. Or because they are afraid that maybe they don't actually have something that people want to buy? What if the fear is they will never make revenue, so they don't try?[12:34] Who already has the attention of your audienceIf he wanted to do this through social media, he'd have to create a Facebook page or start polling people, find all the Facebook groups created and start messaging. He'd have to do the whole social media thing from scratch. Now using the simple techniques that I use, we just went to the bike shop. Get in front of where the traffic already is. People in a bike shop, what do you know about them? Right off the bat. They like biking. They have a high intent ratio of purchasing like products.[17:00] Know your customerYou have to go where your actual customer is. I think a lot of people don't know where their customer is though, because they don't know who their customer is. Yes. So we dial it all the way back. And that's why I shared a new benchmarking tool that we're working on.[18:03] Partnerships Then I show them what you could do with B2B, what you can do with partnership deals. And it's this lightbulb moment, “I'm missing this whole other side of my brain”.[19:52] Ideal customerThat is not how things went, it was tons of networking to get in front of people, talk and figure out who our customer is and how we Underdog EmpowermentFrom over 5 years in prison to scaling businesses and rubbing elbows with...Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify Evolve CPG - Brands for a Better WorldA behind the scenes look at the leaders, brands, and products that are changing the world.Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify Join The End Hype Movementredbluecollective.com/movement

Welcome back to the End Hype podcast. Today is Part 2 of Product Launch and Brand Breakdown with host Callye Keen. If you missed part 1, check out episode 110. In today's episode Callye continues the conversation with business coach and operations expert, Julie Traxler of SB PACE, Tim Kincer and Logan Sanburn of Timberwolf Supply Co.In Part 1 we talked about the importance of your business name, the power of telling stories, how to build an audience, and how money doesn't solve problems, it just buys you speed. In part 2 we talk about leveraging other people's products, why it pays to care more about your audience, brand development, marketing strategy, brand strategy, and speed to market.[00:25] Planning horizonRight now, because you don't have a brand, if it takes you more than a couple of weeks to get a prototype in hand, your idea is too complicated. If you have to invest more than a handful of dollars in it, it's too expensive.[01:25] Develop better productsI come from a product development world. And in that world, we think of everything as prototypes. And what a prototype's job is to reveal and answer questions. It's to reveal the gaps in our knowledge so we can make a better version of it. It's to help develop a solid product roadmap. Maybe improve an existing product.[02:22] Traction productsI have a different strategy I think works for physical products better. We've had clients make millions of dollars in a strategy called traction products. It's a tremendous tool to acquire new customers, clarify your target market, and get wins in the early stages.[03:01] Other people's productsThis is why I like beauty products. I like supplements because there's whole companies that provide white labeling and co-packing for you. You don't have to have an infrastructure business. You don't need to follow a product development process. You can focus on white label products. You can look across the market for product ideas.[08:59] Care moreWhen you actually care and actually know your audience, it's really easy to step into that role of saying this is what I would want and reasonably assert that other people would want it as well. [14:34] Think fast and scrappyA big mistake that people make is making a walled garden for their business. They think it's gotta be perfect before releasing it, having a really cool website and an awesome logo. When in reality, for a lot of supplements and supplement companies that are starting, it looks like getting a vile of stuff in a white jar. We need to start thinking fast and scrappy. [17:35] CommunicationCommunication breeds clarity. If you can't communicate your brand, it's very hard to do any type of meaningful marketing or any type of B2B sales.[21:43] Customer acquisitionIn general, acquiring a customer is getting more expensive. So then if you look at your costs and your margins, especially when you're starting, it's a really easy way to lose a lot of money.[24:31]I want you to think about this, how are you going to acquire a customer? Where are they going to buy from you? What's going to capture their attention on that platform? And once you can answer some of those questions, we can back into what you can do.“Businesses are here to make money and a business should be making you money and giving you freedom.” Book Your Strategy Callhttp://collabproducts.com/book

We're coming out of Winter and moving into Spring, what better time than now to position your business for the next stage of growth. Here are five key points that will help your business reach its goals this year. 1. Client experienceThe biggest topic we've heard over and over again is that today's small businesses need to provide a better client experience. We talked about this topic extensively in our episode with Hank Ebeling of H4 Training (listen here). Why is it when we interact with a small business their quality of work is outstanding but getting them to respond to an email, return a phone call, or send over an estimate is frustrating? Often the answer is the business owner is spending too much of their time working in the business and not on the business. What might seem like busy work to you is what most customers think of as good customer service. The great part though is, just like having the right tools for the job site, the right software can help you automate tasks and provide customer service that matches the quality of your work. 2. Starting a businessWhen it comes to starting a business, a side hustle can be a great way to get started as an entrepreneur. We spoke with Charles Alexander, the Director of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, and he shared how a side hustle provides a proof of concept (listen here). Growing your business on the side while you continue to work your day job is a solid way to improve your odds of being successful. 3. Launch your business in a way that you aren't just buying yourself a jobThis is an all-too-common pitfall when starting a business. In our episode with Corey Harris and Julie Traxler of SB Pace, they shared how most small business owners that are on the edge of burnout is a result of working harder vs. smarter (listen here). The concept of firing yourself is to get out of the day-to-day operations of the business so that you can focus on the bigger picture – how to improve your offering, find new customers, and delight the customers you do have so they come back for more and give you referrals. Part of the way you can fire yourself is to automate as many of the trivial tasks as possible. Don't overlook this essential step because there is a compounding benefit that is found on the other side. 4. Know your numbersKnowing your numbers all starts with accurate bookkeeping, which not only allows you to borrow money if needed but more importantly allows you to get the data that helps you make better and quicker decisions. Knowing your numbers can help you better understand what products or services are driving profit or if you are even making the profit you thought you were. Many small businesses underprice their services which leaves them with too little profit and can result in failure. That is why smart business owners have adopted the profit-first model we spoke about with Stephen King from GrowthForce (listen here). We also spoke with Danielle Hayden from Kickstart Accounting about how her firm is empowering small business owners with insights so they can grow their businesses faster (listen here). 5. Fix your mindsetAs your business grows, it becomes more and more critical that you approach it with the right mindset. Mikey Moran of Private Label Extensions shared his philosophy: the quicker we can push past those failures, the quicker we can find success on the other side (listen here). As an entrepreneur, you need to be curious, open-minded, and realistic about your weaknesses so you can hire people to fill in those gaps. Don't fall into the trap where you ignore your weaknesses and don't surround yourself with a team that challenges you to grow. The small business coaching and consulting space is quite crowded and it can be hard to stand out. However, that isn't just limited to our industry but a lot of the small businesses we coach find themselves in a similar situation. Something we recommend to clients and recently completed on our business is a competitor analysis. The goal of the competitor analysis is to help you better understand what differentiates your business. Also, it helps you identify your keep competencies and where to bring in a strategic partner. One of our core values is we don't sell you anything you don't need. We use this analysis to identify the gaps before we offer solutions. A concept we teach is how to fire yourself. What we see a lot of in small business is people simply buy themselves a job. They start a business and work in the business for 60, 70, or 80 hours a week. The result is all of their time is taken up working in the business verse on the business. The concept of firing yourself is to get out of the day-to-day operations of the business so that you can focus on the bigger picture. That is easier said than done which is where we help our clients with both strategy and tactics on how to make the transition more smoothly. Part of my journey into entrepreneurship was a result of getting fired probably more times than most people have had different jobs. I found I was passionate about the work I did but didn't respond well to situations where I didn't feel I was adding value. During my corporate career, I worked for some of the big four firms and in between jobs I started coaching small businesses. Finally, the last time I was let go I decided I didn't want to go back and dove headfirst into full-time entrepreneurship. The most common type of client we coach is entrepreneurs that are launching their first business or maybe started a side hustle and want to transition into full-time. Most people start a business with the notion it's going to grow quickly and become an overnight success. While that is fantastic if it does, for the vast majority of businesses it takes a bit of time before youfind your ideal product or service mix. We coach clients to have the right expectations from the start so they don't give up on something that could be successful but doesn't grow as quickly as they initially hoped. When it comes to business processes we recommend clients automate as much of the trivial tasks as possible. People often overlook this essential step because they don't want to invest the time or resources required to get up and running. However, what they are overlooking is the compounding effect that comes into play once those systems and processes are in place. Because now you can spend more of your time on value-added tasks and less on the lower value tasks. The pitfall to be aware of when shopping for tools is don't simply go for the cheapest tool go for the one that meets your needs best. A cheap tool that is never used is actually the most expensive. One of the many challenges small businesses face is the lack of affordable options for hiring consulting firms. Large consulting firms won't bother to work with solopreneurs or firms with less than ten employees because of their uniqueness. Most of those small firms are hands-on businesses that can't afford to invest the time or the resources, and on the other hand, those high-priced consultants tend to sell services that aren't needed, ignoring their clients' needs.Having these issues in mind, using their background in the corporate world and their experience working for Fortune 500 companies, Julie Traxler and Corey Harris founded SB PACE, whose mission is to offer value to every client, never sell services that aren't needed, and fully understand what a client needs before selling them anything. In today's podcast I have 2 guests, Corey Harris and Julie Traxler. Corey and Julie are running SBPACE which is focused on helping small businesses to launch, operate, and grow. Corey and Julie are providing business coaching and business consulting to the entrepreneurs who are starting a business for the first time and they are also helping them to build a solid foundation for their business. In today's podcast, they are sharing their wisdom regarding building or selling any type of business successfully. Corey and Julie say that successful businesses are built on some solid foundations. But unfortunately, when some people start their business they start doing things quickly without building a solid foundation for their business, and resultantly their business fails. This foundation is basically about knowing who you are, what you are, why you are doing what you are doing, how you need to interact with your employees, what you should expect from your employees, and understanding your company culture. In short, you need to be mindful of your true passion/purpose and you need to align your true self with your business to run a fulfilling and long-lasting business. Corey and Julie are also talking about the challenges a business owner faces while selling his business and how he/she should deal with those challenges. They are also emphasizing on having a well-documented detail of your business, including a full job description of every employee, so that when you flip your business your employees could easily fit into the new system. They are also advising newly owned business owners that they should give their time, at least 6 to 12 months, to their new business before rendering its responsibility to managers and employees. They say that after spending enough time on your business, render its responsibility to workers in your team instead of doing it all on your own. Remember that it is not right to involve yourself in everything of your business rather hire people and let them do the job on your behalf. Corey and Julie are explaining all that information in detail, so tune in and enjoy this informative podcast till the end.
