Welcome to Episode 42 of This is Not Happening. An Album of the Month Podcast where in Part 1 we deep dive into an Album that one of us has chosen and in Part 2 we play 'Spin it or Bin it'.  This is where we pick a theme and each select a song that represents that theme. Nolan and I (Joey) think this is one of 2023's underrated albums and definitely a hidden hip hop gem. David is missing this month so we only have to convince Guy! In Part 2, the Spin it or Bin it theme is 'Technology' where we all chose a track that we think fits the theme and ask the others 'Spin It or Bin It'.Part 1 | Aesop Rock | Integrated Tech Solutions.This one's special (in my opinion). Nolan has always tried to sell Aesop Rock to me but there's so much music and so little time that I never quite got it. That changed in the Autumn when Mindful Solutionism, the lead single from this album dropped. I chose it as a Spin It or Bin It track and won that month. There's another 17 tracks on this album. It's dense, intelligent, socially conciuous, amusing, moving and thought provoking hip hop. Dear followers, today I have a recording of my event from WEINgefeiert on Saturday, August 13 at the pergola at the wine experience path Nussdorf for you. At this dreamlike place I had the pleasure to get you in the mood with house beats for the first four hours .What you will hear is the beginning of my warmup set featuring great organic house and downbeat tracks at afternoon. The beautiful place in the middle of the vineyards between Landau and Nussdorf was especially staged - sun sails, overdiemesional igloos, seat cushions, the Stilmobil and a lounge corner made of pallet furniture directly at the fountain invited you to chill out and enjoy.  We celebrated the summer with you and at the same time the last dance at the pergola. House music peppered with pearls of music history put a smile on your face and the colorful play of lights into the evening made the feel-good experience round and coherent. AFTERHOUR SOUNDS COMPILATION VOL. 003 - [FREE DOWNLOAD] Seit Gründung unseres Musik Blogs 2012 setzen wir den musikalischen Schwerpunkt auf Diversität. Das bedeutet, dass unser Programm, egal ob Premieren, Live-Sets oder Podcasts eine große, breite Mischung aus verschiedenen Subtypen der elektronischen Musik abdeckt. Sei es Downtempo, Midtempo, melancholisch, verträumt, melodisch und/oder tanzbar - alles ist im Grunde erlaubt. Ziel jeder unserer Compilations ist es, dass jede*r Künstle*r einen Track gestaltet, den er/sie selber auf seiner/ihrer “Afterhour” spielen würde/n. Manche steuerten in der Vergangenheit eher langsamere, manche schnellere Tracks bei. Manche verträumte, manche druckvollere. Im Grunde ist jede Stimmung möglich, insofern dieser zu Afterhour Sounds passt. So auch dieses Mal... Da die Compilation “for free” ist, können wir keinen Künstler monetär entlohnen. Wir verstehen uns von Anfang an (seit 2012) als Supporter der Szene und haben seit jeher verschiedene aufstrebende Künstler unterstützt und auch einen Teil zu ihrem Erfolg beigetragen. Dies bedeutet, wir haben und werden nie Geld für beispielsweise Premieren, Reposts etc. nehmen. Selbst auf eigene Spendenaufrufe während der Covid-Pandemie verzichten wir im ersten Jahr vollkommen. Ganz im Gegenteil. Wir selber unterstützen immer wieder angeschlagene Club- und Festivalbetreiber, sowie andere ehrenamtliche, sozial ausgerichtete NGO's. Daher ist unsere neuste Compilation als “Free Download” mit freiwilliger Spende gedacht. Hierzu könnt ihr den unten aufgeführten PayPal Link benutzen. This week’s feature had us with vehemence. Not was this only the name of the track that raised our interested in this upcoming artist, it was also the vehemence of a trippy bassline that got us hooked immediately! And when Daniel Steinfels mixes a Gin Fizz exclusively here on Schirmchendrink it gets very addictive too: Hard to categorize Daniel’s music: it can be trippy, it’s rather slow than fast, it often features a driving bassline, it’s experimental, and, most importantly, it is highly original. "THE DEEP CONTROL" presents a series of podcasts ! MEL BELL (Hamburg, Germany) BIO:MEL BELL was born on Dec. 8th 1976. Since early childhood she developed her passion for music. She started on a carillon, where she created her own tunes and melodic creations. Her biggest passion were instruments with keys like accordion and keyboard, that she has been practicing for many years. In the early 90's, fascinated by the young techno scene, her focus shifted towards electronic musical devices, which quickly led to her DJ-Mixer, Turntables, CD player and more modern, technical equipment. After recording her first mixed tapes, she quickly landed gigs in various clubs in Hamburg, Germany. She was also booked on several radio stations. Over the years she continued to grow, and began producing her own music. She graduated at the SAE Institute with a degree in audio engineering and finished an apprenticeship as energy electronics technician. She completed numerous projects, including classical recordings. Over the last years following, she released her tracks on established national and international labels for electronic music including SOSO Hamburg, Asymmetric Recordings, RunAfter Records, ADRO Records, Guava, Bullfinch and the well-known label Pipe & Pochet. Her strengths lie in the development of melodies, and creating that special groove. She finds that perfect harmony when selecting the order to play her mixed DJ-Sets. She is curious to see what the future holds for her. With excitement and passion she remains true to herself and keeps her focus on what matters most: Electronic Music. Over the years, Princess Zeppadella grew older and the Nightflower kept blooming, together they lived a secret life only they controlled. One rainy evening, the Princess climbed out to the garden to find her nocturnal companion was not there, the Nightflower was closed. She tried to wake it up but it would not stir. When the Princess returned the next morning, she found her friend laying dried on the dirt.

Seit nunmehr 4 Jahren gehen die beiden Freunde gemeinsam als DJ & Produzenten Duo durch dick und dünn. Bereits vor dieser Zeit waren sie schon seit einigen Jahren freundschaftlich miteinander verbunden und zogen in dieser Zeit gemeinsam durch die Partylandschaft. Dabei war ihr musikalischer Weg bis dato etwas unterschiedlicher Natur. Während sich Raddantze schon etliche Jahre dem Produzieren verschrieben hatte, war sein Kollege Landhouse seit jeher als leidenschaftlicher Vinyl-DJ bekannt. Beiden liegt das musizieren quasi in den Genen, denn sie stammen aus Musikerfamilien und wurden so schon sehr früh mit dem Musik-Virus infiziert. Schließlich haben sie bei einem ihrer gemeinsamen nächtlichen Ausflüge beschlossen ihre Liebe und Power für die elektronische Musik zu bündeln - Gott sei Dank möchte man fast sagen. Ihr musikalisches Zuhause fanden die beiden Karlsruher in dem Netlabel Seaside Trip mit ihrer gleichnamigen Podcastreihe, wo ihr Captain Rolandson eisern das Steuer führt. Dieses Momentum überträgt sich bei ihm sogar auf die Art und Weise des Musizierens, weshalb er schon weit über die Badener Grenzen bekannt sein dürfte. Die Rede ist von Bruder Jakob, der als Gründer und Mitorganisator des Karlsruher Kulturvereins https://soundcloud.com/kollektiv-liebe alleine oder zusammen mit seinem Bruder Edu Buscholl die Fahne des „Schneknos“ im strittigen "Schwabenländle" hochhält. Zusammen mit vielen anderen Künstlern wie Acid Day, Thomas Train, Landhouse & Raddantze und weiteren, veranstalten Sie regelmäßig im P8 Partys, die sich der langsameren elektronischen Musik verschrieben haben. Kein leichtes Unterfangen in einer Stadt die traditionell von Techno dominiert wird. Dennoch lassen Sie nicht locker. Gut so. Mit seinem einzigartigen Stil ist Jakob auch schon weit über die Karlsruher Grenzen bekannt geworden. So bespielte er unter anderem das Uckerlam Festival, das https://soundcloud.com/fjordfest, sowie das Rituel in Paris und natürlich in verschiedenen Locations Berlin's. Die Musik von Bruder Jakob lässt sich meiner Meinung nach her mit den zwei Adjektiven Leichtigkeit und Tiefe beschreiben. Als ausgewiesener „Schnekno“ Fanatiker sind seine Sets mit Liedern durchzogen, die nicht nur derbe Grooven, sondern auch zum Nachdenken anregen. Ein besonderes Augenmerk legt er natürlich auf eine stimmige Tracklist und der damit einhergehende Stimmungsbogen. Kenner seiner Musik schätzen vor allem den hohen Anteil an unbekannten Tracks, die er meistens extrem runterpitcht und dadurch erst eine neue Dynamik erhalten. In diesem Zusammenhang bedient er sich überwiegend an alten Liedern aus dem Bereich des Technos, Acid und House. Musik, die wie gemalt ist für eine perfekte Afterhour.
