Hello hello there everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Surviving the Horror. This month, Josh and Colin are joined by resident lore expert for all things Dead Space, Kevin from the PlayStation Plus Game Club! Kevin is a massive fan of the Dead Space series in general, and after recording the episode last July on Dead Space Remake, it didn't feel right to venture further into the series without his input. The result is that the three of us had an over three hour discussion, breaking down all the important details, subtle audio notes, and larger mechanical trends that are present in Dead Space 2. Dead Space 2 released in January 2011 as the highly anticipated follow up to Visceral's Dead Space. The game sees the continuation of Isaac Clarke's journey following the catastrophic tragedy aboard the Ishimura. From the very beginning of Dead Space 2, Isaac, as well as the player, are thrust into chaos and the unknown as another Necromorph outbreak has seemingly begun aboard The Sprawl, a massive station orbiting the once moon of Saturn, Titan. Due to the size and scope of The Sprawl compared with the Ishimura, everything in Dead Space 2 is cranked up to eleven. The mystery, the action, the set pieces, and indeed the lore are all expanded upon greatly. Just why is Isaac in a straight jacket upon waking up? What are the four steps to run "the machine" that your companion Stross keeps talking about? Can you truly trust anyone associated with Earth Gov. or The Church of Unitology? Only through quick wits, persistence, and a butt load of ammo will you get the answers. We truly hope that you enjoy this episode, and a special thank you to Kevin for being a part of the show! Next month on Surviving the Horror will be joined by none other than the GreenGorillaGamer to discuss the first entry in the FNAF series. It's going to be a wild ride. Until then take care everyone!

Welcome one and all to episode 4 of Surviving the Horror, our monthly video game podcast all about survival horror games! We hope that you've enjoyed the previous episodes, and of course that you enjoy this one. In 2023 Motive Studio released a remake of one of the most beloved survival horror games of all time, Dead Space. Originally developed by Visceral games, and released in 2008, the original Dead Space is often praised for it's fantastic atmosphere, visceral combat, and intriguing space horror story. Seeing as Colin had only played the original once, and Josh had never played the game beyond its opening chapters, we felt it was only right to sit down and discuss the newest iteration of a genre classic. Innovating on ideas first introduced in Resident Evil 4, Alien, The Thing, and many other horror games and films, Dead Space tells a tale that mixes body horror and religious fanaticism in a way that very few things before it ever have. The end result is a story that's worth your time, and a game that is unrelenting in its pursuit of making you scared. Thank you for listening, and take care all!

Well. here we are again talking about a game I've covered more than once. This week I give my thoughts on the Dead Space remake, complete with mean comments about its publisher and glowing praise for its developer and the game itself. How many space zombies can Isaac Clarke kill this time? Give it a listen to hear the squishy answer. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/deleted-saves/support
It's a little early for the usual summer showcase leaks, but here we are nonetheless! Gears Of War stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Halo when it comes to importance during the Xbox 360 generation. Despite that, the series has never earned itself the "Master Chief Collection treatment" nor has developer The Coalition received its flowers for its consistency during a barren generation. With insiders already hyping up Gears 6 behind the scenes, the Dukes discuss what Xbox coudl do to make the most of this moment. At the same time, this showcase is seemingly being set up to cast a wide net. While 2023's summer show featured a look at the slate of first party studios that Xbox has acquired over the years plus a strong Japanese presence, it appears this is going to be the first time Activision defines a showcase. It's been said that Call Of Duty Black Ops: Gulf War is set to be revealed during this show. Perhaps more interesting, Xbox has invested in a "game preservation team" with insiders suggesting more announcement beyond just a new Call Of Duty being present for the franchise. Could backwards compatibility be making a return and how far will they go? Plus more on Xbox's next console, how Sea Of Thieves is possibly a testbed for more Xbox games heading to PS5, and so much more! What's going on folks, we hope that you are all doing well! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. As you can tell from the thumbnail and the title of the episode, Colin has been attempting to work out more. While his efforts haven't been necessarily successful, they did involve him getting some more time at the gym, and the boys discuss that at the top of the show briefly before getting into some gaming and trophy news and statistics. As always with our shows, what's in store for you listeners are some great shout outs of content creators in our community, and Platinums earned by our Discord. On top of that we have some questions surrounding the use cases and desire to play or get into more Mobile Gaming, and VR with the PSVR2. Are Darryl and Colin ever going to see the light with these pieces of tech and hardware? Probably not, but the PSVR2 has some great games coming to it, announced at the most recent Sony State of Play. After the shout outs and questions, we get into what we've been playing. Slugger continues to be obsessed with (rightly so) Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Colin and he also touch on their experience CoD: Black Ops 3, and MW3 Zombies. Colin also has some choice words to say about Returnal, a game that has a great many things to love about it but at the same time is an absolute nightmare for trophy hunting. Finally, Darryl continues to burn through amazing Indie games and this episode sees him touch on quite a few of those in addition to Yakuza Kiwami, and Dead Space Remake. All in all this episode felt great to discuss and record. As always we appreciate your support and any feedback you may have to help make the show better. Thank you so much for listening, happy gaming, and take care! =)

Put another tally in the "Dave is covering a game on the podcast that he swore he'd never play" list- life came at me fast, I suppose. Dead Space (2023), Motive Studio and EA's remake of the original Dead Space from 2008 is an incredible visual upgrade on already great gameplay, though it does wear out its welcome as it seems to run out of novel gameplay ideas well before the story has wrapped up. Joining me to discuss Dead Space is Chris aka Vertigo2Hell, a Twitch streamer who specializes in horror game streams.
