1. From Pitch Fork: Daft Punk, the Parisian duo responsible for some of the most popular dance and pop songs ever made, has split. They broke the news with an 8-minute video titled “Epilogue,” excerpted from their 2006 film Electroma. Asked if Daft Punk were no more, their longtime publicist Kathryn Frazier confirmed the news to Pitchfork but gave no reason for the breakup. The singles “One More Time” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” cemented them as global superstars. Their imprint in the popular imagination continued to deepen in subsequent years, with records including the Tron: Legacy soundtrack album. Twenty years into their career, Daft Punk blew up once more selling millions of copies around the world and earning two Grammys for the duo and guests Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams. Daft Punk was also credited with co-production on several tracks from Kanye West and The Weeknd. 2. Nypressnews.com: Thanks to their instant chemistry in episode 4 of WandaVision, “We Interrupt This Program,” fans are looking forward to seeing more of Agent Woo and Darcy in the MCU. Digital artist apex form even suggests that they team up for a new Marvel Studios TV spinoff titled “M-Files” where they solve various cases in the franchise. Admittedly, not everyone was a fan of Jimmy and Darcy during their separate stints in the MCU. Overall, teaming up the characters was a brilliant move from Marvel Studios as they’re totally fun to watch together. It’s uncertain what the future lies for both characters past WandaVision at this point, but considering that the events of the series are expected to play a big part in MCU’s multiverse, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that they’re going to be involved moving forward. 3. From Insider: Kadie Karen Diekmeyer, known online as That Vegan Teacher, has been banned on TikTok. Her account page, which had 1.7 million followers before it was taken down, now only shows a "couldn't find this account" message that says she was banned for "multiple community guideline violations." The exact reason for the ban is still unknown, but Diekmeyer has been a controversial presence on the viral video app. Diekmeyer was known for consistently trying to convince others, like celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver, to go vegan. Most recently, she focused on YouTuber TommyInIt, who recently hit four million followers on TikTok. Diekmeyer posted a TikTok duetting Tommy showing off his two golden YouTube play button awards, where she pulled out a cucumber and said "nice vegan girls don't want to play with your buttons, but if you want them to play with your buttons, you'll have to show them your fruits and your vegetables." Tommy is only 16-years-old and some online, including his fans, found that comment distasteful. Hours after the ban on Tuesday morning, Diekmeyer posted a 23-minute monetized video with the comments turned off on her channel about the ban. In it, she talked about how she's glad that she is no longer a teacher, claiming that a "group of teenage boys" were what led to her account getting banned. Shaley George has led the National Orphan Train Complex for over six years. Her institution shares the stories of thousands of children relocated to the American Midwest from eastern cities. M-Files provides a next-generation intelligent information management platform that improves business performance by helping people find and use information more effectively. Unlike traditional enterprise content management (ECM) systems or content services platforms, M-Files unifies systems, data and content across the organization without disturbing existing systems and processes or requiring data migration. M-Files also breaks down silos by delivering an in-context experience for accessing and leveraging information that resides in any system and repository, including network folders, SharePoint, file sharing services, ECM systems, CRM, ERP, and other business systems and repositories. Thousands of organizations in over 100 countries use M-Files for managing their business information and processes, including NBC Universal, Rovio, and SAS. However, it was the findings from its 2019 Global Intelligent Information Management Benchmark Report that put MFiles on my radar. The company surveyed 1,500 office workers across multiple global regions and revealed 82% of employees report poor information management is damaging productivity in the workplace. These findings indicate that many businesses manually store information utilizing outdated hierarchical folder structures across a variety of disparate and often unintegrated systems. Further results revealed that 96 percent of all employees faced difficulty when looking for the most recent version of a document or file and 41 percent reported that information was frequently stored in the wrong folder or system. Greg Milliken, SVP of Marketing at M-Files joins me on my daily tech podcast to reveal more about the findings in the report and road ahead fro M-Files.
Enterprise Content Management has often been a painful mainstay in most enterprise level organizations. The "death by folders" approach of keeping track of production files, important documents, and even contracts has caused various delays and issues in many businesses. However, organizations are transforming their efforts by turning to a more intelligent approach. Metadata driven content management is establishing a new norm in how organizations manage their seemingly endless content. Understanding what the data is, instead of where it is, has drastically improved the efficiency of fast paced businesses that thrive on technology. Organizations like M-files are diving even deeper into this space, using tools like artificial intelligence to further automate information management. In this episode, hosts Patrick and Miraj sit down with Aaron Howerton and Michael Dalrymple from M-Files to discuss digital innovation in the content management realm
Kevin Craine speaks with Greg Milliken, SVP of Marketing at M-Files about Intelligent Information Management in 2019 and how technologies like AI will shape our industry. Plus, Dr. Edward Hess discusses his book "The New Smart Machine Age and Where Humans Fit In."
The M-Files Episode 2 - Time Travel And Chupacabra Meat – 08/05/18 In this exciting second instalment of the M-Files Special Agents Macron and Chumley tackle some fresh complainers with an X-Files themed twist, at least that's the idea anyway. Amongst many great calls we tried to help a lady get a refund and avoid a nasty accident using the power of time travel, we spoke to a lady who may have eaten tainted North Korean chupacabra meat and cottage cheese, we try to help a lady who got her car cursed by Indians after killing a sacred deer, spoke to a lady who had her burger bitten by a werewolf but was too drugged up to speak to us about it and dealt with a very big girl who broke her chair and had a serious gas problem. We also played a game of Rick And Morty Madlibs and generally had a super fun time. We even played everyone's favourite song at the end of the show thanks to our kind donators and of course we told more than one person to shut up. Thank you to everyone that listened live and joined in the fun, everyone listening to the podcast and especially all the kind donators who supported us. We love you guys so much and we lots more content to come!
The M-Files Episode 1 - 05/20/18 Welcome to a new series of unique pranks known as The-M Files. Not to be confused with the Macron Files but actually the X-Files. In this show Special Agents Blackman and Chumley attempt to uncover various alien and otherworldly events via the medium of complaints. These include fast food employees being abducted by aliens, food contaminated with an alien virus, faulty furniture leaking the deadly black oil and even one Red Lobster customer infected with an alien virus and having to have a complete skeleton replacement made from old body parts and lobster skeletons. The agents worked hard to bring you the truth but the truth is still out there. We will do this again and big thanks to everyone that supported this new new concept, listened live and on the podcast and especially to those that donated. I want to believe...
The "M" stands for Mackenzie because without her, Episode 40 wouldn't be chock full o' aliens or deceased pets or active diarrhea or bad accents or a bunch of conspiracy theories! So make yourself a cranberry sauce cocktail (aka the Fixin') and join Erin "Mulder" and Nicole "Scully," as they investigate the Rendlesham Forest Incident! This one's for you, Stumbelina!
