A 2x European Am Team member for Denmark in 2014 at Linna in Finland & 2015 at Halmstad GC in Sweden losing in the final to Scotland that year. Martin alongside his good pal Niklas Norgaard & Nicolai Kristensen competed in the 2014 Eisenhower Trophy together in Japan with was won by USA (DeChambeau, Hossler & Denny McCarthy) other notables include Jon Rahm, Thomas Detry, the dangerous trio of Corey Conners, Taylor Pendrith & Adam Svensson as well as the 2 long sons of Italy Matteo Manassero & Guido Migliozzi. Martin reveals how Matteo was delighted for him winning his tour card even in his own struggles and is fastly the nicest guy on the tour and how great it is to have Manassero back playing well again! Martin would win Challenge Tour card in 2019 from the Nordic Golf League and a DP World Tour card in 2022 after finishing 14th overall in the Race to Mallorca standings for the season gaining full playing privileges on the DP World Tour for 2023 winning his only career title as a pro at Kaskada Golf Challenge in Prague at -20 beating the talented Marco Penge by 4 shots going wire to wire all the way! Although injuries and poor form happened in 2023 for Martin there is a sense of optimism that 2024 could be a great year on the challenge tour as Martin looks to win back his DP Tour Card for 2024/25 season! In questo nuovo episodio del mio podcast JJGOLF, incentrato sul mondo del golf giovanile, vorrei parlarvi di un argomento e di un aspetto a cui tengo molto, e per farlo ho voluto prendere spunto da una bella intervista che il grande Matteo Manassero, giocatore italiano professionista di golf, per chi eventualmente non seguisse da vicino il golf, che parla del suo anno appena iniziato sotto i migliori auspici, soffermandomi principalmente su alcune sue dichiarazioni che mi hanno fatto riflettere e dato appunto alcuni spunti per creare questo nuovo episodio e parlare ai giovani golfisti e ai loro genitori, invitando tutti a riappropriarsi della bellezza e del perchè giochiamo a golf e di come, dice Matteo, "Bisogna sempre guardare il bicchiere mezzo pieno, senza focalizzarsi sulle cose negative" e di come, aggiunge sempre nell'intervista il grande Manny, "Bisogna sempre provare a migliorarsi e ripartire, anche dopo le sconfitte, senza dare troppa importanza ai Ranking e vivere con meno ansia". Mi auguro che questo mio episodio possa aiutare alcuni giovani giovani golfisti ed eventualmente anche i loro genitori, nel far riscoprire loro la bellezza, le motivazioni, il quid, di come e perchè abbiamo tutti iniziato e continuiamo a giocare e praticare lo sport più bello del mondo. Volunteering Overseas: How it can give you a better retirement Bill Manassero is the President and Founder of Child Hope International. It's a charitable organization that works with orphaned, abandoned, and at-risk children on the streets of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. The Manassero family's unique ministry, helped street children get off the streets, and build a promising life for themselves in the Haitian society. Bill and his family served as missionaries in Haiti from 2003 to 2015. Transitioning back to the states for retirement, he began investing in real estate as a means to fund their retirement and help fund their Haitian Mission. He now shares his real estate knowledge with other seniors through his Old Dawg’s REI Network – a website, blog and weekly podcast. Bill tells us some amazing and touching stories of his time spent Volunteering Overseas. Before Bill and his family went to Haiti, they had a children's music ministry. They traveled all around the world doing family concerts for various camps, schools, and groups. Bill noticed one of his daughters saving money. He asked her what she was saving for. His daughter said she wanted to build an orphanage, a school, and a church in Haiti. She was only nine years old at the time! This was the catalyst to start their Haitian Mission. His organization is very much volunteer driven — A good majority of the volunteers are retired. The volunteers commit to anywhere from 1 week to 2 years of service. The volunteers help with things such as teaching life skills such as baking and sewing. They also show the children how to set up a business so they can become self sufficient. The volunteers feed hundreds of children every week. It was fascinating to hear how much volunteering overseas has impacted not only the Haitian Children, but the volunteers as well. We asked, “What do you think people should know BEFORE they retire?” and he responded with: Look forward to it. Prepare yourself for a new adventure to do anything you want to do. Take a look at the spiritual and emotional side.  Start getting excited. Don't get hung up on the money aspect. Focus on the freedom you will have.  You can use that freedom to help others and help yourself. What advice would you give to a retiree who feels stuck? Try to change your perspective on your retirement. Spend time with those in need.
