Hey there, Padawans! Happy Wednesday! I'm thrilled you could make it across the galaxy to join us for this Star Wars-themed episode of Adulting with Autism. While I contemplated dressing up as Ahsoka for Halloween, today we're bringing in the big guns with our Master Jedi, Ambika Devi! Ambika isn't just your average Jedi. In 2023, she was crowned Female CEO of the Year for Most Inspirational Workplace Communication Specialist. She's here to share her amazing tools that can stabilize relationships, boost health, and restore harmony—just like a true Jedi would. With degrees galore and a mind full of wisdom, Ambika is also a consultant for the International Yoga Alliance. She's gracing our podcast today to share her insights on becoming mindful Jedis of our own lives. So, grab your favorite drink, put down those lightsabers, and let's dive in! In this episode, Ambika guides us through the art of meditation, the power of yoga, and how to witness our thoughts without getting tangled up in them. Imagine transforming your morning routine with her soothing practices, learning to detach from negativity, and embracing the peace of a Jedi mind. Whether you're new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner, Ambika's tips on yoga, breathing, and mindfulness will surely resonate. From belly breathing to finding your inner calm, she's got you covered. And don't worry about needing special gear—simplicity is key, and it's all about being comfortable. On this week's show, Dan Kois (writer at Slate and author of Hampton Heights: One Harrowing Night in the Most Haunted Neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) fills in for Dana Stevens. The hosts begin by exploring the latest addition to the Star Wars canon, The Acolyte, created by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll). Amandla Sternberg and Lee Jung-jae lead the who-dunnit mystery, and while there is a lot to admire about the show's visuals and depiction of the Master Jedi, The Acolyte often sags under the baggage of the vast Star Wars mythology and suffers from fundamental pacing problems. Then, the three tackle Godzilla Minus One, a genius and emotionally rich parable about wounded masculinity and the national trauma felt in a post-WWII Japan. The kaiju film, released at the end of last year, won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 2023, and immediately shot to No. 1 on Netflix when it hit the streaming service last week. Finally, the panel is joined by Dan Charnas (author of Dilla Time and The Big Payback) to discuss Sabrina Carpenter's “Espresso” and his very sharply framed piece for Slate, “The Musical History Lesson Buried Beneath the Song of the Summer.” In the exclusive Slate Plus segment, the panel tackles: children's birthday parties. To plan, or not to plan, that is the question! Email us at culturefest@slate.com. We're taking Summer Strut submissions! Send your strutty-est songs to culturefest@slate.com. Endorsements: Dan: The quick-witted, joke-packed pleasures of Girls5eva season 3. Julia: (1) Ambition Monster: A Memoir by Jennifer Romolini; (2) Dan Charna's playlist, “The Genre With No Name.” Stephen: (1) Who wrote this song?; (2) Abdullah Ibrahim's "Solotude." I can wait. I can fast.”“I can think. I can wait. I can fast.”“I can think. I can wait. I can fast.”Now, we migrate in a semi-parallel fashion from Siddhartha to Yoda, Master Jedi. It was Yoda who cautioned a young Luke Skywalker, “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”Yoda could have easily offered: “Impatience is the path to the dark side.”Impatience leads to frustration. Frustration leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Tune in for some in depth Qui-Gon talk and current events happening in the Star Wars world!
Well, if it isn't another Star Wars episode! This one's kind of the runt of the litter, bridging the gap between annoying little kid Anakin and big bad Darth Vader. Trouble is, Anakin doesn't get any less annoying as he goes through Jedi training and puberty. Whiny brat wants to be a Master Jedi and his best trick is making fruit float. It gets worse: all he really wants is to romance Natalie Portman with some of the most cringe-inducing wordplay ever committed to a script. George Lucas is no Shakespeare, let's leave it at that. Hey, at least we get a cool villain, the one and only Christopher Lee playing Count Sudoku, or whatever his name is. Of course he's a Count. They probably asked the purple muppet Count to be in the movie, but he'd just end up all CGI animated anyway. But wouldn't it be awesome if he was the one who fights Yoda? Nah, didn't think so. But what IS awesome is this podcast, with my special guest, the uproariously funny (and candid) Quan Ngo. Listen you must!

Se discuten temas serios como la cubeibi vs el gin fizz, historias de la adolescencia en la que un payaso fue secuestrado, y por su puesto los piropos y albures más cachondos y elegantes del tianguis.

It's the third installment (we think) of the famed ask us anything. This time it's a special Coronavirus edition. The bbbbbboys reminisce on the good 'ol days (late February / Early March) when they could attend public gatherings and share meals with people that don't share their last names. They touch on other controversial subjects such as Char Bar not making it into the BBQ Tournament, Spaceballs vs. Blazing Saddles, why that piece of shit Mace Windu wouldn't make Annikin Skywalker a Master Jedi, and find out if Matt would vote for Donald Trump under any circumstances. No seriously, we ask him to name just one person he would check the DJT box on. Can he do it? Tune in to find out.Next week - NFL draft recap with Dave Pilcher

Greeting Fellow Jedis: In this week episode, we get to combine the best of both worlds: Star Wars and Community Service. I have know the Lone Star Saber Academy (LSSA) since the early days of the Round Rock 4th of July Parade. This group is amazing in showing up to entertain us with one of the most iconic movie franchises of all time. More over, they also give back to the community in harmony with the light side of the force. A side note to myself as when I do these pop quizzes; I need to choose my opponent more wisely than to tangle with a Master Jedi. A big thank you to Mark and Heidi Tucker to everything they do and supporting the ShareTheWill Foundation. Coba saja jadi MC

Mas vamos começar pela parte "ruim" dela =P slsvader (Sérgio "THE DARK LORD OF THE SITH" L.D. Silva), MASTER JEDI, Oz (Flávio de Almeida) e o PROTOCOL DROID, Manhattan Prince (Matheus de Souza) tentam achar alguma coisa de bom na "Nova" Trilogia.
