This week Andrew & Ted are reviewing Netflix's original romantic comedy "The Life List", starring Sofia Carson (Alex), Kyle Allen (Brad), Sebastian de Souza (Garrett) and Connie Britton (Elizabeth). Elizabeth, mom of three (Alex, Julian, and Lucas), passes away leaving clear instruction as it pertains to inheritances for her two boys Julian and Lucas. The inheritance for her only daughter (Alex / Sofia Carson) is a little more complicated. For Alex to secure her inheritance she must complete a list of things she, Alex, wrote as things to accomplish in life when she was just thirteen. She has one year to accomplish those eleven things on her list. Every time she completes one of the items the family attorney gives her a cd that her mom recorded for her of her offering her support as she checks them off this list. One of these items on her, Alex's, life list is to find true love. That's where Brad (Allen) and Garrett (Souza) come in. Brad works at the law firm overseeing the will and Brad is the attorney acting as the estate's executor. Garrett on the other hand is the director of a non-profit where Alex works as a teacher. A job that Brad secured for Alex because he knew of the opening because he, Brad, is on the board and provides pro-bono legal services. Tune into the show to see what Andrew and Ted thought.

The central theme of this penultimate episode of our "Flix Fridays" series revolves around our examination of the Netflix Original series "Wednesday," wherein TJ Blackwell, assuming the role of co-host alongside Joshua Noel in the absence of Rev. Justin Coleman, who was unable to participate due to a family emergency. TJ's engagement with the series was marked by a distinct lack of enthusiasm, resulting in a critical perspective that diverged sharply from Justin's favorable reception, which TJ endeavored to articulate in his stead. Throughout our discourse, we deliberated on the complexities of character development, particularly focusing on Wednesday Addams' struggle for individuality amidst an eccentric familial backdrop. Our conversation further traversed the thematic elements of identity and belonging, as we scrutinized the juxtaposition of Wednesday's quest for uniqueness within a world of similarly unconventional characters. Ultimately, our analysis sought to uncover the deeper implications of personal and familial dynamics within the context of this modern adaptation of a classic narrative.A comprehensive exploration of the Netflix series 'Wednesday' unfurls within the context of our ongoing 'Flix Fridays' series, which has garnered attention through the enthusiastic participation of our Facebook group, 'The Priests to the Geeks.' In this penultimate episode, we delve deeply into the complexities and thematic elements of 'Wednesday,' a show that, while it has captured the hearts of many, has elicited a rather tepid response from co-host TJ Blackwell. The absence of Rev. Justin Coleman, who was initially slated to join us, is felt throughout the episode, as TJ assumes the mantle of both critics: his own and Justin's. While Justin's appreciation for the series shines through the discussion, TJ articulates a series of critiques that reflect a stark divergence in taste. The juxtaposition of these perspectives invites listeners to ponder the nature of individual preferences in television and the broader implications of character alignment with familial legacies. The episode further contemplates the significance of Tim Burton's distinctive style, the interplay of dark humor and quirkiness, and how these elements resonate differently with viewers of varying backgrounds. As we dissect the character of Wednesday Addams, we grapple with her quest for identity amidst a family of eccentrics, ultimately questioning what it means to forge one's own path in a world that often conflates identity with conformity.Takeaways: In this penultimate episode of our 'Flix Fridays' series, we scrutinize the intricacies of Netflix's 'Wednesday', considering both the artistic merit and our personal responses. TJ Blackwell found 'Wednesday' lacking in substance, contrasting sharply with the enthusiasm expressed by co-host, Joshua Noel, who resonated with its quirky charm. A significant theme within 'Wednesday' is the exploration of individuality amidst a backdrop of eccentricity, particularly within the context of the Addams Family. The juxtaposition of Wednesday's character against her vibrant peers raises questions about authenticity and the nature of identity in a world of stereotypes. While TJ did not favor the series, it is crucial to acknowledge its appeal to a demographic that identifies with the protagonist's struggles for acceptance and self-discovery. Ultimately, the series prompts a dialogue about familial bonds, individuality, and the complexities inherent in navigating one's identity within a fantastical realm. .We discuss all this and more in this one! In this episode of "Streaming Without A Paddle", Andrew and Ted sit down to discuss the newly released Netflix original comedy "Kinda Pregnant", starring Amy Schumer, Brianne Howey, Will Forte, and Jillian Bell. Lainy (Schumer) and Kate (Bell) grew up as best friends. A friendship that lasted long into their adulthood. One day a whirl wind of events happens in each of their lives, Lainy thinks her boyfriend is going to propose marriage, when in fact he proposes a three way which leads to their breaking up. Kate on the other hand is already married and finds out she is pregnant. Both meet for lunch one day to share their news. Kate's news of her expecting, coupled with her recent relationship set back, sends Lainy into a tailspin as she always thought the two besties would be pregnant at the same time or at the least she would be first. While helping Kate shop for maternity clothes, Lainy discovers a fake belly bump at the store and puts it on. She loves the way it makes her feel so she steals it and goes around leading people to believe she is pregnant. During a yoga class for pregnant women Lainy befriends Megan (Howey) and they, because Kate can't find out Lainy is pretending to be pregnant, become "expecting best friends". That is until the gig is up and Lainy is forced, through circumstances, to reveal she is in fact not pregnant and has been pretending. Tune into "Streaming Without A Paddle" to find out if Andrew and Ted either took a bullet for you or you should give it a watch.

This week on "Streaming Without A Paddle" Andrew and Ted have a blunt conversation about Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx's Netflix original "Back In Action". "Back In Action" marks Diaz's return to the acting game after taking a 10 year hiatus and was subsequently the production time-frame in which Jamie Foxx fell ill and was hospitalized for months. "Back In Action" is billed as an "Action / Comedy" where two U.S. government spies (Diaz / Foxx) find an "out" during a mission so they take it to go raise a family of their own under new identities. As expected, their new identities are "outed" and the government comes to them looking to finish the mission so to speak. This time they do it with their two teenage children. Tune in to listen to what Andrew and Ted have to say about this streaming original.
In this episode of The Best of Fives, Chris, Luke and Dave list their top 5 favorite Netflix Original Movies.
If you thought buying a house was stressful, wait until you watch No Good Deed. Netflix's new dark comedy series dives into the cutthroat world of real estate, where three families battle it out for their dream home—a stunning 1920s Spanish-style villa in Los Angeles. With a star-studded cast featuring Ray Romano, Lisa Kudrow, Linda Cardellini, and Denis Leary, No Good Deed blends laugh-out-loud moments with jaw-dropping twists. It's like Desperate Housewives meets Big Little Lies, but with even more backstabbing and fewer white picket fences. We're breaking it all down TruVue style—spoilers, NSFW jokes, and our signature barbershop banter. If you've ever wondered just how far people will go to get the perfect house, this episode is for you. We bring the barbershop talk to the box office, because it's not about the review—it's the conversation with the crew. We keep it real on the reels, so grab your open house flyer and let's get into "Desperate House Buys".

Whether it's the shocking plot twists or the intense airport chaos, Carry-On is a must-watch for fans of fast-paced thrillers. And as always, we're breaking it all down TruVue-style—spoilers, NSFW jokes, and barbershop banter that'll have you laughing harder than a TSA agent confiscating your oversized lotion. Remember, we bring the barbershop talk to the box office, because it's not about the review—it's the conversation with the crew. This week on "Streaming Without A Paddle" Andrew and Ted took in the Netflix Holiday Original ... "Our Little Secret" starring Lindsay Lohan (Avery) and Ian Harding (Logan) with appearances / co-starring Kristin Chenoweth, Jon Rudnitsky, and Katie Baker. Avery and Logan were long time boyfriend and girlfriend that ultimately ended leaving the two estranged as they went on with their lives with each finding new loves ... that just happened to be siblings. Christmas brings Avery and Logan back together as they accompany their partners back to their family home to celebrate the season. Upon their shocking arrival Avery and Logan feel it best to keep their previous relationship a secret but as time goes on, as well as their rekindling of their relationship, it is found out by the third sibling of their partners Avery and Logan's history. And as Ted said ... Hilarity Ensues.
Andrew and Ted kick off the Holiday season with Netflix's Christmas original ... "Hot Frosty" starring Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls) as Kathy and Dustin Milligan (Schitt's Creek) as Jack. In the little town of Hopeville there's an annual snow sculpting contest at Christmas and widower / diner owner Kathy is given a scarf by the husband / wife owners of the local boutique as a Christmas present. Little did Kathy, or anybody for that matter, know there was a little magic in that scarf and when she placed around the neck of the Adonis-esque snow sculpture it comes to life. Being the kind hearted person Kathy is she attempts to help this individual who seems to have amnesia and in the process they begin to fall in love. The question then becomes what becomes of these two as time goes on and the heat is turned up by the local sheriff who is trying to figure out who broke into the local boutique and stole some clothes. Tune into "Streaming Without A Paddle" as Andrew and Ted share with you, spoiler free of course, their thoughts about this Netflix Christmas original.
